EICR Schedule of Test Results Template

Blank EICR test sheets in the IET model form column layout: the schedule of circuit details (columns 1 to 16) and the schedule of test results (columns 17 to 31), one sheet per board.

What is it?

This PDF is two landscape A4 sheets laid out in the column order of the IET model form: the schedule of circuit details and the schedule of test results. It has the board details, a space for the test instrument serial numbers and room for twelve circuits, with matching rows on both sheets. It is the blank schedule only. The report or certificate it belongs to is a separate document, and the readings are the ones you measure.

About this template

The schedule of circuit details records each circuit's wiring, conductor sizes, protective device and RCD. The schedule of test results records the continuity, insulation resistance, polarity, earth fault loop impedance, RCD and AFDD results for the same circuit numbers. Both sit behind an Electrical Installation Condition Report or Certificate, and the person who tested writes their name, signature and date on the results sheet.

When to use

  • To record the circuit details and test results for each distribution board or consumer unit when you complete an EICR
  • As the schedules that go with an Electrical Installation Certificate for new work
  • When you want a printed sheet to write readings on at the board before they are entered anywhere else
  • When a board has more circuits than one sheet holds: continue on additional sheets

Tips

  1. 1Use the same circuit numbers on both schedules, so each row of results matches its circuit
  2. 2Write the maximum permitted Zs for each circuit from the source you used. If it is not from the tabulated values in Chapter 41, state the source in the remarks column
  3. 3Use the remarks column to list circuits or equipment vulnerable to damage when testing
  4. 4Record the test voltage for each insulation resistance reading, and the instrument it was taken with
  5. 5Not every AFDD has a test button. Mark the AFDD column not applicable where there is none
  6. 6Use one sheet per board and continue on additional sheets if the board has more circuits

Frequently asked questions

What is a schedule of test results?

It is the table of measured results that accompanies an Electrical Installation Condition Report or an Electrical Installation Certificate. It has one row per circuit, with the continuity, insulation resistance, polarity, earth fault loop impedance, RCD and AFDD results, and a remarks column.

What columns are on the BS 7671 schedule of test results?

On the IET model form for BS 7671:2018+A4:2026 there are 15 columns, numbered 17 to 31: circuit number, r1 (line), rn (neutral), r2 (CPC), (R1 + R2), R2, test voltage, live to live, live to earth, polarity, maximum measured Zs, RCD disconnection time, RCD test button operation, AFDD manual test button operation and remarks. The circuit details schedule before it holds columns 1 to 16.

When do I use r1, rn and r2 and when (R1 + R2) or R2?

On the model form, r1 (line), rn (neutral) and r2 (CPC) sit under the ring final circuit heading in the continuity group. The next two columns are headed (R1 + R2) or R2. Which readings a circuit needs depends on its type, so record the ones you measured.

Is this the same as the EICR report?

No. It is the schedule of circuit details and the schedule of test results only. The report has the installation details, the observations with their codes, the inspection schedule and the declaration. The EICR report template page has the full blank report.

Which edition of BS 7671 is the layout from?

The column layout follows the IET model form published for BS 7671:2018+A4:2026. Earlier editions of the model forms differ in some details, so use the model forms for the edition the work is certified to.

Is there an EICR test checklist?

The checklist side of an EICR is the schedule of inspection, which lists the items inspected and the outcome codes. This PDF is the test side: the results measured on each circuit.
