Tradehand exists so skilled work does not have to mean evenings spent on missed calls, quotes, invoices and paperwork.
Walk into almost any trade business and you find the same picture. The owner is brilliant at the work, but the business runs on a phone that never stops, a notepad of half-taken jobs, quotes typed up at the kitchen table at 9pm, and invoices chased one awkward message at a time.
Most businesses are also one person away from a backlog. When the person handling the phone is off, calls wait, quotes do not go out and job changes reach the owner too late to refill the diary.
Modern software was built for tech companies and online retailers. The trades got spreadsheets, clunky job-management tools, and apps that added more screens to click instead of actually doing the work. So owners kept pushing every job forward by hand, long after the working day was done, still mopping up the team's loose ends at 10pm.
We started Tradehand to change that. Not by giving owners another place to type the same information, but by giving them the software the big firms run on, with an assistant working inside it that does the admin a big firm pays a salary for.
What Tradehand is
Tradehand is the UK marketplace for finding and booking local tradespeople.
For the trade business, Tradehand gets it found and booked, then runs the work from first call to final payment, with an assistant that answers every call and message, sends and chases the quotes, books the diary, keeps customers updated, raises the invoice and chases it until it is paid.

How marketplace listings work
Many listings are drawn from public competent-person register data, including schemes such as NICEIC and NAPIT. Trades can also claim a listing and run a bookable profile on Tradehand.
Unclaimed pages use publicly available information to help local customers find a business. A verified badge on a claimed profile means the business is on Tradehand.
Reviews on Tradehand
A profile may show reviews imported from platforms such as Google and MyBuilder. Each review names its source and links back to where it was originally posted.
Tradehand also collects reviews from customers after completed jobs on the platform. Imported ratings and Tradehand ratings are kept separate, so you can see where each review came from.
Stuck doing it all by hand
The work is valuable. The coordination around it is exhausting. Every call, every quote, every booking, every update, every payment still depends on a human remembering to push it to the next step. Growth just means more paperwork, or hiring someone to absorb it. Neither feels like progress.
An assistant that does the admin
