I bought a refurbished hoover 18 months ago From someone selling them online. I had PROBLEMS ever since but when I took it to Merrills to see if they could fix it it come back the best it’s ever been. They put a new head on it with a light so you can see what you’re picking up, it seems to work far better and the battery now lasts even longer. Thank you for the Staff that helped me thank you to the staff that fixed it many many years ago when I had my own business with my husband we used to supply it Merrills so I knew the company was a good company 10 out of 10
Used them for parts before found them good then, still the case now. Good advice about a universal washing machine pump, they had one available to collect straight away on Saturday afternoon and a sensible cost to take the bet on it fitting, which it did. (LG model F4J6JY1W for their use) That is what you'd miss if you just went online and ordered something. Support the local business. They had an array of replacement drain hoses too if you know which ends you need. I did buy a pair of door seal pliers for from Amazon because Merrills didn't have any which were needed for accessing the pump. Of course, if you went the other way and sent it into their workshop, you wouldn't have to worry about being able to do it yourself or the tools to do it. It's worth adding from an appliance repair point of view, I'm a qualified electrician who did do appliance repair at college in an apprenticeship, many years ago though...

Helped diagnose a problem with cooker over the phone and had the spare part in stock to fix problem. All sorted in no time on Christmas eve.
Great l8cal place for electrical appliances and repairs of same. Very friendly service! My old (sentimental) lamp was repaired perfectly!
Something that is becoming a rare thing nowadays, a place you can go and get the parts you need for your appliances, often in stock on the day with knowledgeable staff who offer good advice Old school at its best and should be at the top of the list for when the unexpected happens.
Great service. Paid £5 to have dyson hoover checked over as head motor stopped turning the brush. Phoned within 48hrs to confirm issue and quoted to fix.
Good place for repairs. Have used Merrills for years and always pleased with their service. Did you know they also have a shop in the town centre which sells spares plus a few appliances
Great service, my dyson is like new. Why buy new when you can get yours repaired for a fraction of the price
Emailed the workshop about my dryer not working. Martin got straight back to me. Dropped the dryer in and it was repaired really quickly. I can't rate these guys enough. Superb!!
Out of town option of their two shops they have in Colchester. Spare parts are available to buy and to order. Engineer service available if you can leave your vacuum etc. Home engineer services available phone for details. Limited road parking available.
They definitely know their stuff. Years of experience in most electrical appliances and usually every spare part you'll need.
Helpful staff, contacted when a product came back in stock and knowledgeable about what they sell
Excellent service, fixed my broken vacuum cleaner within a day. Knowledgeable staff, would highly recommend.
