Called Ray this morning, after being let down by an inferior company the day before, as it was a Saturday morning I wasn't expecting much joy,but Ray was round and saved the day ,fixed the washing machine at a fraction of the cost of the other clown,top man Ray ,thanks again
Two weeks ago this person came to ‘fix’ my washing machine. Turned it on, tried a couple of empty loads and clearly the display had to be fixed or replaced (I already knew that). Took £85 in cash without leaving a receipt or invoice with the promise of sending me a quote for parts and said he’ll come back to fix it, just for him to disappear and not replying to my messages. £85 is a lot for a single woman with a low income. Dreadful behaviour.
Ray turned up to repair our washing machine in within an hour, knew exactly what the issue was, and had it sorted very quickly and efficiently. Totally recommended for a fast efficient service. Thank you Ray.

What a compete star this chap is! Called him to see if he had a replacement hose that we could buy. He didn't; but then gave me a Quick Fix THAT WORKED!!! So, naturally he'll now get all my domestic appliance business going forward. He didn't need to do this, and it's so good to know that there are still honest people in the world. 10/10

Very unprofessional and ill mannered person. He is willing to do the job quickly and take the money but is not interested in any enquiry afterwards. Comes across as an opportunistic and temperamental person with no sense of integrity as a tradesman. It is far better to book a professional engineer even though it might take a few days. In fact, a quick appointment is the only thing Raymond excels at, which would most probably be due to a lack of business or clients !

I was stuck with my old broken washing machine today after the delivery company would not disconnect and install my new one. I called Colchester Domestic Appliances by chance as they were most local to me and they were extremely friendly and helpful and Ray was round to collect it ‘Free of Charge’ within 10 minutes of my call. I contacted this company to disconnect and remove my old washing machine. They came within one hour of my call . The machine was successfully removed with no issues. Great polite friendly service. I would definitely recommend and I will be more than confident to use the Company again for repairs and service.

Called Colchester appliance, they came out to look at my broken washing machine (£50 call out fee ) knew what the problem was , chased them a few days after he knew what was wrong it , said they was waiting for a price on the part , 4 weeks later still on price and response ……DO NOT USE !!!!

Within 5 mins of a call on a Saturday Ray arrived to disconnect a washing machine which did not have conventional levers and show us how to reconnect. Most impressed and a relief.
Bought a fridge freezer for my son it’s now packed up in 12 weeks his response was what do you want me to do about it happy to take your money not interested when there is a problem I would give no stars
I had a bit of a wait but once a delivery date was agreed the appliance was delivered promptly.
Ray was brilliant. Came round within an hour and fixed the problem in no time. Lovely bloke, would definitely use again and recommend to others.
Avoid at all costs. Willing to take the £50 call out charge and even try to charge me again when attending. After spending weeks of chasing they never returned back with the part to repair the dishwasher. I contacted another company to repair and they were not surprised the issues I have had given this company’s ‘reputation’.

Had a washer dryer delivered today pay for a full installments only water pipe was attached as waste pipe was not long enough and the man was not able to help me or willing to help me move a cupboard so it would fit in properly and charged me full price after me saying that it was not installed properly and I am classed as being disabled
I called the shop to enquire about particular Rangemaster oven that I am searching for on the secondhand market. Although CDA didn't have any in stock, the customer service I received from Ray was superb. Ray was extremely knowledgable and friendly, provided great advice and assistance in respect of ones I was already considering online. Quality business run by quality people, who I will be using and purchasing other electrical items from in the immediate future.
Called to get my washing machine repaired, The Gentleman turned up to the house within 30 minutes and fixed the issue. Very good price and fast service.
I have not used the services of Colchester domestic appliances before but would gladly use them in the future. I contacted Raymond for a neighbour who had a problem with their freezer. Ray came out within an hour and although the freezer was not repairable he advised them where to go and even offered to assist with buying a new freezer online. Ray was extremely helpful and polite and we would definitely use him or recommend him in the future.
Very quick response to message/calls was with me within 2 hours of initial call (and tbf I wasn’t available until 10am I initially called a 8am). Repaired machine and cost was just the call out. Thank you

I called around a few places and Ray was the only one who answered. From calling just after 9am Ray was here a couple of hours later. Job done and price quotes was what we paid. Would recommend and will use his services again

5* For in home washer dryer repairs. Recommended. 1* For dish washer repair and communication. In short they had my dish washer for OVER 3 Months. They should have passed the work on to an alternate local business or returned my appliance in a timely fashion. This was explained to be due to Ill health of a technician. Communications over this time were very poor. After being told on several occasions it was being worked on I asked for it to be returned. Often to no response. The man I dealt with seemed genuine enough and appeared to struggling with getting the job done. The correct thing to do would have been for this company to have found an alternate local repair business and passed on my appliance. What I dealt with was near on stone wall communication. I heave learnt a valuable lesson not to let any appliance leave the home for repair. The other reviews on here appear to be good and I’m sure they are genuine, I am however unable to recommend this business for dish washer repairs due to my own experience. I wish the technician better health.

Phoned this business. Helpfully right from the start and agreed a visit to my broken washing machine within 2hrs max. Owner turned up very professional and got 2 work straight away. Ray sourced and fitted a new washing machine door seal to replace our damaged one.. He needed to order the part but it arrived within a week and he fitted it without any problems our fuss. A very good service.

I wanted repair to my carpet cleaner done and took it here. Was told it would be done the following week. I chased up 3 times over a period of 3 weeks and each time I was met with a rude and abrupt response on the phone. I finally picked it up and looked like in exactly the same condition I left it in with hairs in the mechanism. I took it home and tried it and it did not work. Do not use this company. Such a rude man and terrible service. From the reviews it seems as if it is very hit and miss whether you get a good service or terrible one and not sure why he was rude to me as I had been polite and patient. Update to the owner's reply to me: It most definitely was you. I brought it in 6 months ago, beginning of December so I'm surprised that you can remember a carpet cleaner from over a year ago but not 6 months ago. Maybe check your records again. You wrote it on a piece of paper rather than electronic records. When I picked it up, it clearly looked like it hadn't been touched and I said this to the woman who was there. She rang you while I was there and you confirmed you had repaired it. I just took it away as you'd had it long enough by then. As a tip for the future, using exclamation marks in a professional capacity is not a good look and comes across as angry and patronising.
I wanted a refurbished washing machine and rang Colchester Domestic Appliances Ray answered the phone and advised he had one ready for which we agreed a very reasonable price for delivery installation and carting off the old washing machine. Totally impressed with the fact he delivered and fitted the machine within an hour of the phone call. Now thats what I call service.

We managed to completely break the pump filter for our washer dryer. Went in at almost closing time to see if someone could help. Staff were lovely, professional, and saw the humour in the situation. We got a complete replacement for a reasonable price and now we can wash our clothes again! Thank you.

Leadbeatter) Having telephoned to arrange a call-out for a faulty fridge freezer and taking £52 from me, I then had to chase up the visit several times, resulting in him arriving without previously telephoning my tenant. I then subsequently had to telephone him 2 days later to ascertain the fault. My tenant said he just opened the fridge freezer door and closed it, and was very abrupt. Do not part with your money to this man.
Initial response was good. Came to install a new dishwasher and to dispose of the old one. He (Ray, I believe the owner's name is) damaged the rim of the floor leading into the garden and snapped the kickboard in half in his attempt at removing it. When confronted he was extremely rude and unprofessional and kept on making excuses for being careless. At the end, when I asked for his public liability insurance details to have the damaged fixed his response was: 'are you kidding me' and that he didn't want to pay the excess fee of £300 as my kickboard would not cost more than £25 to be replaced. When I asked if he was willing to replace my kickboard instead he again kept on coming up with excuses and stories of how it happened and that it wasn't his fault. When I asked to call my dishwasher insurer to advise he said he doesn't have time for it. I understand that these things happen but it was how it was dealt with, the rudeness and unprofessionalism on his side that was unneceptable. I am still left with a broken kickboard and a damaged rim. Extremely, rude, unprofessional and careless, it also took him 3 hrs to finally finish the job. I will not use this company again.
Thank you for such a speedy response for my oven door and the excellent work. The prices quoted were clear and very resonable for a same day callout to my britannia cooker. This is the first time I have ever seen my oven door properly aligned up! It looks amazing, I am very impressed and wouldn't hesitate to use again. Thank you again!
I would not use this company again. My washing machine broke as I accidentally left things in pockets of coats I phoned up and Ray turned up to look at it when my husband was home. He was quick to take away my 4 year old washing machine saying it was worn out and then tried to replace it the next day with a second hand washing machine he had in his shop, he turned up with this old washing machine - when I asked how old the second hand machine was Ray claimed to know nothing about it, and that my husband had agreed to it. He got shirty when I tried to look it up on google saying he was in a rush, and talking really fast when I tried to find out more. The machine he was trying to deliver was really old looking and he wanted nearly £200 for it, I told him I didn’t want it and he left in a huff.
Came out within the hour to rescue us when our oven element stopped heating up. We had 20 guests coming. Fantastic service will use again

I have bought 3 x appliances from Ray over the last year. The 3rd just this morning after my fridge decided to stop working. He is prompt, polite and professional and knows his stuff. All appliances continue to work and do their respective jobs perfectly.
My electric oven had stopped working. Someone came out by lunchtime and had it fixed quickly and efficiently. I was very impressed by the service and would recommend this company to anyone.
I wouldn't recommend wasting your money. There are other trusted tradesman who will take responsibility for their works, unlike these guys who seem to not want to own up to a poor job. vastly overpriced for second had tat. My suggestion - go elsewhere!
Amazing! Life saviour and went above and beyond! My washing machine broke over a weekend and needed a new one but also find a way to dispose of the old one and Raymond took care of it all! Installed the new one and got rid of the old one for the same fee. There are very few people offering this type of services and being so nice and flexible. A very big thank you, I highly recommend him!
