6 weeks since Jason and his team put in a full central heating system boiler. It's been working brilliantly and lovely and warm in the house after the boiler failed over Christmas. Excellent service from everyone at R+H. Professional service with everything left tidy every day. Would highly recommend them all.

Job quoted & professional installation within a week. From Ian quoting the job, being very open and honest of what was required and that it would take 2 days rather than a 1 day rush. We recently replaced 3 boilers in a block of Apartment and I have to say Ian and his team has been amazing. He came out couple of times before we agreed with everything. Before I choose Ruskin and Herbert I rang about 3 different companies for a quotation and then decided to go with them. The reason for choosing them was the company is run very smoothly and all questions were answered throughout the installation. Every call was answered by their office. After speaking with Diane, who helped with all office enquiries relating to the new boiler. I would like to thank Ian the Director for coming out to my house and explaining everything in detail for the installation of a new boiler and radiators. He was curtious and informative throughout the discussion. He left alot of information to go through and decide which boiler I wanted. He spent time going through the process. I want to say a big thank you to Cameron and Shaye for the installation of my new vaillant boiler Eco Tech Plus and 8 new radiators. I am very pleased with the workmanship of the installation. The lads were professional and polite. Cameron explained the information regarding the installation to me regarding the Vaillant Sensocomfort thermostat and how it operates. This was very helpful. I have just had a complete New walk in shower put into my bathroom and the bath removed, I suppose you could say a complete refit, and through out the six days it took I can honestly say that I have had the greatest bunch of guys in my home anyone could wish for, they were always polite knuckled down and did the job, and why is Spencer a trainee, that man worked his little socks off I hold u in high admiration spencer and Shane for his size he can sure pack a lot in, very impressed with everyone including Diane at the office. We just had a new boiler fitted by Cameron and shaye. We like to thank them both for their hard work and effort and for doing a marvellous job of fitting it professionally and being very kind and friendly and giving so much information whilst doing the job. I am not the one to usually leave reviews, but after a year long search for the right Gas Safe engineer to replace my old hot water tank system to a combi boiler on an old terraced house, I was left with, hefty quotes or "No we cant do it" the job is too big and there will be complications. I was then recommended to Ian from R&H. Ian came out to visit after hours, and explained everything thoroughly, whilst everyone else said the job was too difficult or they couldn't do it, Ian suggested different ways to accommodate my needs and was very patient with all my questions. I was able to contact him at any time and he always responded back promptly. The quote given was reasonable and dates for works were also readily available to suit my work schedule. The engineer who carried out the work, Cameron, was knowledgeable and carried the works out in a proficient way despite being under the weather. Although there were some minor hiccups along the way (as expected with a job like this), these were sorted promptly and everything was put back to how it was. I now have a system which works well and I am glad to have used R&H. I would highly recommend ALL of the team at R&H including the front office staff who were all attentive. We are absolutely delighted with the walk-in shower recently installed by Rudkin & Herbert. The whole project went very smoothly. We were impressed with manager Rob who called in daily to oversee the work and who went the extra mile to make sure we were happy with the end result. A special mention to Jamie who did a magnificent job with the plumbing, tiling and fitting of the shower screens. His craftsmanship and attention to detail is second to none. A pleasure to deal with. We have just had our bathroom refitted by Rudkin & Herbert and could not be more pleased. Design suggestions and planning by Ian was inspired. Excellent tiling by Minty, who easily satisfied my husbands OCD. A massive thank you to Paul and Carl. What a team. Cameron came to fit a new boiler and Taydo radiator system in my flat this week and was professional, friendly and efficient. He even helped me with setting up the app to control the temperature on my phone (I'm a bit technologically challenged!) Very good assessment of our requirements for an assistive bathing wet room and thoughtful follow through and execution by plumber Simon. I was also pleased with general finish and appearance and removal of rubbish. I thought the overall cost very reasonable for the amount of time and labour.

Excellent communication and Service All communication with the staff was excellent. Regular updates on progress. I was told by another plumbing company that my boiler flue was too close to the window and a flue for that boiler was not available and that I would need a new boiler. Contacted Rudkin & Herbert, sent over a few pictures of the boiler and the flue. They got back to me with a quote for replacing the flue. Work was carried out on time and provided with a new Gas Safety Certificate :)

I needed my kitchen updating, and an antique radiator installing. The office staff were friendly and helpful. Cameron came on time, and managed the work very well. He improved the pipework left by former plumbers, managed to fit the old radiator, and didn't leave until everything was done to (both) our satisfaction. A very good service!

I needed to replace a very old boiler and hot water cylinder, and wanted a high-quality Vaillant system which would be future-proof and could work in conjunction with an Air-Source Heat Pump at a later date. Ian visited and listened to our requirements and explained the various options. The Rudkin & Herbert team installed the new Vaillant boiler and ASHP-compatible hot water cylinder in our garage, fitted some new radiators, TRVs and flushed the system, and connected the new system and removed all of the old system and pipes no longer needed. All with the minimum of disruption. I was really impressed by the professionalism of the R&H team, particularly Cameron's meticulous attention to detail and very neat and tidy pipe work. It's great to see people taking such pride in their work. Very happy with the quality of the work and end result, highly recommended.

Excellent from start to finish! Had been thinking about having the bathroom done for about a year and then decided to go ahead - we had a separate toilet & bathroom but decided to have all in 1 room Mum had recently had a stroke and was in the recovery stage, straight away Simon put mum at ease and explained everything he was going to do and regularly came downstairs to check she was ok with the noise and herself in general. Just had my boiler install. So in the past 10 years I’ve had about 3 engineers come down to change my boiler. So I’ve seen the difference in workmanship. By far, Rudkin and Herbert were the best. I had an engineer called Jack, very professional, very informative and very competent in the trade. I would defo recommend and defo use again.

Had a Combi boiler to replace old traditional with tanks etc. Everything, from the quotation to the finished job, was professional and the workmanship excellent. The fitters took care, taking away rubbish and leaving a neat and tidy finish. The main fitter Cameron worked really hard replacing an antiquated system, explained what he was doing and took time answering my questions. The Apprentice Max took great care removing and fitting new radiators. A further fitter Jason, did a tidy job on the gas work. I was recommended to Rudkin & Herbert by a neighbour and can certainly recommend them.

Following a hot water cylinder tank leak attributed to its age, I found it necessary to replace my boiler. Ian, recommended by a friend, proved to be an exceptional choice. Upon visiting the property, Ian provided a competitive quote and executed the replacement with precision and excellence ( Must name here Joe, Max and Tom and their hard work. Good, smart and efficient ) . His accessibility and prompt responsiveness via email and WhatsApp further underscored his professionalism. I wholeheartedly recommend Ian's services, as he proves to be reliable and available when needed most.

Had a lot of work done with them. I will provide and honest amount. Work was done over the last few months. 1. Quote provided swiftly and was very detailed and impressive. 2. When the job started, the main plumber was shocked as there was clearly too much work for him to do, for the allocated time. He continued and then required extra help along the way. 3. The job performed was very good, can't complain about that. 4. However, there have been problems since then. I was them chanrged extra at the end due to 'extra time and work', though lots of work planned wasn't done (easier plumbing routed used), they didn't send enough people in the first place (and thus of course needed more people on the job) and ignored the hundred of smoking/tea breaks. Also, interestingly on the last day they finished 2-3 hours but they hung around and then left at 4-5pm;I assume the vehicles might be tagged by the company boss. I paid the extra money (approx.10% more) simply as I wanted the after care if required, but see below the issues. 5. Post care warranty has been non-existent;they refuse to come and deal with problems I've faced, despite calls and emails. I've found an alternative plumber to resolve these issues. 6. Please note, the boss (Ian Herbert) is a very aggressive man, and had to be warned to behave. He doesn't like to be told he is wrong unfortunately. Be warned, my advice is to use another company or a local independent plumber. Look elsewhere. Happy to provide proof and verification of the work and the issues, if required.

Needed a new boiler and radiators for the house as well as relocating from bedroom to kitchen. Decided to go with Rudkin & Herbert due to the reviews. Can honestly say it was well worth it. Ian was great with advising us on the different options as well as accommodating our needs and Cameron was great with the installation as well as coming back to fit the radiators once we were ready for them. We recently used Rudkin and Herbert to replace our bath with a walk-in shower. We had previously had quotes from the large companies who do this for a living, but found them pushy and expensive. Rudkin and Herbert in contrast, listened to what we wanted and installed a practical and attractive walk-in shower, retaining our existing shower at our request. Result: cheaper and better adapted to our requirements. Rob and Paul and the tiler, whose name I have forgotten (sorry!) were particularly helpful. Many thanks all.

Ordered new radiators for the house and had a new boiler system installed with high quality goods recommended by Ian. The workmanship was excellent and everything clearly explained by Cameron who was tidy and an asset to the business. Only slight issue was the communication regarding chrome over copper pipework on rads but it was dealt with to my satisfaction in the end. On the whole a 5 star service and I would highly recommend them.

Wasn’t disappointed After our old (20yr+) boiler broke it was time for a new one. We didn’t know anyone that had used Rudkin & Herbert before and after reading reviews we decided to go with them….. They didn’t disappoint. From when Ian came out and reassured us that it could be changed to when Cameron appeared on the day of works. Cameron is a credit to the company. He was always on time, polite and courteous. He laid carpet protector down on all areas that he would be working, cleaned up after himself every day and left us with water. He mostly worked on his own and had additional support pop in when they were free. Took ½ a day longer than quoted (price didn’t change) but this did not impact on the works carried out. Had an issue with our bathroom radiator after (not a fault of the installation) Paul came out the day that I rang and sorted the issue within minutes. I am now saving for a new bathroom and will not hesitate to us this company for the works.

Had three new radiators installed in our house. Cameron was great, very polite, and tidy (tidied as he went and put protective covering on the carpets), and the work is to a great standard. Explained how everything works before he left, very happy with the result!

I've used Rudkin & Herbert for new boilers and heating systems in my last two houses. They did such a good job the first time I automatically used them a second time. The installers are always super friendly, clean, tidy and spend plenty of time ensuring you are up to speed with the system before leaving you. The second system was installed by Jack who was great with the kids, really friendly and always left the house clean and tidy. I've not had one single problem with either install and would highly recommend to anyone!

Fantastic service from Ian's initial visit to quote for the work then replacement of my 24 year old boiler and repositioning it into the garage from a cupboard on the landing. The existing pipe work to the old boiler was horrendous but Joe figured it all out and managed to hide it all beneath the floor. Paul meanwhile installed the new boiler and carried out all of the associated pipework. Both of them arrived early each morning and stayed late to ensure the three day job was completed on time. They were friendly but professional and answered any questions I had. They were also extremely tidy and cleaned up thoroughly after completing the work. A mention also to Nick the joiner who made a great job of replacing the flooring damaged during the work. Finally, the staff at the office were also quick to respond to a query about the start date for the work which I had got wrong. The boiler has been working perfectly since last week and I was so impressed with Paul, Joe and Nick that I'm now awaiting further quotes for work on my en-suite and bathroom. Great company and superb staff.

I had a complete upgrade of my plumbing and heating system which was very complicated. The work was carried out by Glen who was super efficient and an excellent tradesman. He is an asset to the company.

Just had a new boiler fitted. Boiler working well. A great job was completed by Cameron the installer. He was punctual, polite, always tidied up and cleaned up each night and went above and beyond staying til 6.30pm to wait for an electrician and make sure everything worked before he left on the final day. I thought it is about time I added a review for R&H after a year and usually gives me a good indication how a company deals with its customer care service, after having fitted two easy access bathrooms for my elderly parents in 2021 and my disabled father who has neurodegenerative disease with limited mobility. I have given R&H two stars because it has dismal customer service, it seems every time you need to put something right with an issue/s with bathroom/s that R&H has fitted. I have been persistent with them and confronted with R&H not having engineers or not a priority for them with excuses after excuses. When it does happen, it can take considerable time to put it right. Kicking it into the long grass, hoping the issue will disappear. Unfortunately, customer care/aftersales support seems like an afterthought with R&H and no CRM or anything that resembles it. You would you expect R&H to have this in place like with any other businesses, to have ease of access and speed of support, first contact resolution. It needs to be timely in resolving any matter however small or big to repair or replace faulty product/s, unfortunately it has nothing the resembles this with antiquated approach to customer service. These are three examples as to what good business customer looks like with positive examples, how they approach customer service from my experience who have ‘can do’ positive outlook and having used various companies like BOXT which fitted our boiler and every time I have contacted them there were no qualms or excuses, the matter dealt with quickly regardless how small or big. Another local double-glazing company I have used, has the same approach of quickly dealing with issues, an email/telephone call confirming the booking of an engineer. I even used another local plumbing company to fit a kitchen tap and the director of that company came to fit the tap within an hour, as his engineers were out on other jobs, without excuses and in fact he later text me a week later to see how I was getting on with the kitchen tap. Although R&H engineers were brilliant and it is a shame the management at R&H has no comprehensive approach to customer service, it is something R&H management needs to do to put in place with a good CRM process. If you are planning to use R&H, please stipulate that you expect aftersales or customer care support as part of the package in place. If there are any issues arising in the future and expect any issues or matters put right without excuses. Please shop around with more customer focus businesses, as the expenditure having a new bathroom is expensive. So, it does require careful approach which bathroom fitting companies can meet customer expectation and going beyond without excuses or qualms.

Got the radiators replaced in most of the house. From start to finish, the service was great and the work was carried out promptly. All options were discussed beforehand and quotes given were straightforward. On the day, the work was carried out by an experienced member of staff and the replacement radiators have made a huge difference. Had my oil boiler changed. From the beginning to the end of the process the service I receive was excellent. Ian who came and gave me the quote was very helpful in deciding what needed to be done. The staff at the office were excellent dealing with any of my queries. I was exceedingly Impressed with the installation by Glenn and Ed. Recently had a new combi boiler installed by Rudkin & Herbert. The whole process from the initial survey to the actual installation was carried out very professionally & on time. We were kept updated throughout the whole process & the installation engineer Jack arrived on time with his colleague & both were very friendly, informative & worked efficiently. They were tidy & the work was done within one day, even though it was scheduled for 2 days. Jack also had to do additional pipe work which was not planned for. Thankyou to both the engineers & to the office staff who are always helpful & take time to resolve our queries. My family really appreciated their service & care that was provided.

I had a new boiler installed by these good folks and am very pleased that I did! They may not be the cheapest installers/engineering/plumbing firm but their prices are competitive and the workmanship was impeccable throughout. They have communicated regularly to update me re the work to be done and Ian came out more than once to check it was all going well. The chap who did the work was methodical and tidy and did a great job. Highly recommend.

This is our second time having a boiler installation with Rudkin & Herbert. We were happy with the work at our old property and so chose them again at our new property. This time the installation was more complex due to changes that the previous owner had made and I was concerned we would have problems getting the old 1978 boiler changed. But no this was not a problem to Ian when he popped round, he knows his trade and explained what would happen and gave a fair quote. They even helped with the plumbing work of an old sink and refitting a new one which Glen did for us. He did a great job of this so thanks to Glen. The actual boiler installation and new radiators were carried out by Jack and Ed, they were both professional and very hardworking and tidy. We were very impressed with the neatness of Jacks plumbing of the pipework to the boiler and the gas pipe and well done to Ed as there were no leaks to the pipes fitted to the radiators. Both did a fantastic job so Thank you. I know if we ever need any work in the future we will go back to this company and will recommend them to friends. Thanks guys we are so happy with our boiler.

Just had my bathroom made into a wet room by Nick and Simon, from start to finish they were very friendly, cleaned as they went, and told us everything that they were doing that day, I did not want it to look like a hospital room, all the fixtures, fittings, flooring were of good quality. We even got a very good choice of tiles to pick from. Would highly recommend this company., from Ian coming out to measure up and he explained what would happen to closing the door as they left. My elderly mother recently had a 'low-level' shower installed in her first floor flat in a retirement village. Work was completed efficiently and ahead of time. Rudkin and Herbert replaced an old boiler with a Combi boiler, moving it from the kitchen to the airing cupboard upstairs. Quick response to a request for a quote, great communication and planning. Boiler was replaced quickly in the time specified to a very high standard. The fitters were excellent, neat and tidy and very helpful. Would definitely recommend.

Rudkin & Herbert recently fitted a new boiler and heating system. Ellis, who completed the work, was great. He was really efficient and friendly and explained everything to us. He also identified a gas supply issue to the house but sorted it for us with no fuss. Our new system is brilliant and the Hive that they installed with it works a treat. We have had them out again today to quote for 2 new bathrooms and a downstairs toilet too as we were so pleased with the service.

I used Rudkin and Herbert to install a complete new central heating system, including boiler and all new radiators - I have to say that I am more than impressed with the service and, in particular with Ellis. Nothing was too much trouble and despite the amount of work undertaken, the house was left in the same cleanliness as before the work was started. I would highly recommend this company and, have already ordered a complete bathroom refit from them

An excellent service and results. I previously used Rudkin & Herbert to replace my central heating system and they did a great job so I got them back to refurbish my downstairs toilet. I needed the room completely gutting, a new suite installed, a boiler boxed in, a lot of piping moved plus plastering and tiling. Everything went perfectly from start to finish. Ian came round, we discussed options and he produced a clear, detailed design and quote, which was very reasonable. The work itself, by Simon, Nick and Minty, was carried out very efficiently and to a high standard and the results are excellent. Throughout everyone involved was friendly and helpful and I would unhesitatingly recommend them.

Absolutley excellent service. Boiler broke in the cold in November last year. I had a prompt evening visit, and a new boiler was fitted within a week. Glenn and his helper were fantastic. even covered my hall carpet in plastic so as not to make it dirty! Once the boiler was up and running Glenn even helped me to set up the App for me to control the heating. I would certainly recommend R&H without any reservation, absolutly brilliant! THANK YOU.

We have just had the pleasure of our wet room installation carried out superbly by R & H. from design to tidying up. We needed an adapted wet room which still looked as though it came straight from the catalogue and that is exactly what Rob’ s design has given us. Rob visited 3 times until he and we were happy with every aspect of the plan and we have enjoyed so many plaudits from friends and family. The execution was mainly carried out very expertly by Nick and Chris and they explained each step as the work progressed. And not to forget the staff in the office. Poor workmanship. I had a water softener installed. Installer drilled through my worktop, the drill hole isnt towards the back of the worktop where cables could be dopped neatly down the back of the units. I'd prefer to have been asked before, some trunking and thought would have been a better option, better yet a dedicated spur.

What can I say, from start to finish we were so impressed with Ruskin & Herbert. The quality of the work, the products and professionalism of the team were outstanding throughout. The owner Ian, came out and really helped us to scope out the project, he gave us some invaluable advice and is very knowledgable and professional. The quote was emailed promptly, it was clearly set out and very competitive. The work was seamlessly planned out and everyone delivered on time without complications or delay. The guys who completed the work were brilliant, they were all qualified and experienced trades people. They arrived on time, worked hard and always made sure that they left the house clean and tidy. They were also brilliant with our dogs (which was a real worry for us). We are really happy with the work done. We have had so many complements from friends and family.

I have got my new boiler fitted along with replacement of all my old radiators and couple of new radiators installed end of May 2019. The job was done professionally and took exactly three days as I advised initially. Cameron started the Job on day one who was very polite and explained things properly who was later joined by Matt on 2nd day who was also brilliant and explained me how to use the controls. Just few minor niggles after the Job was finished but Ian sorted out very next day. Overall very happy with the installation and service provided and would definitely recommend this company for boiler or heating needs.

We asked Rudkin and Herbert to quote for a new boiler and to upgrade the gas supply to suit. The quote was competitive and comprehensive and we gave the go ahead. The work was carried out efficiently and quickly. Cameron was drafted in to climb around 3 adjoining (just) loft spaces to get the feed through the 30 metre distance, which he did without complaint. Glenn lead the team and fitted the boiler and gas connection and we were all very pleased when the test showed all in order and no leaks! Full credit to Cameron for his efforts. We have fitted a new Worseter Boiler. Paul came to fit the boiler and he has done a great job. He fitted it within two days and explained in detail how the boiler works. All work was done and left the place spotless. Satisfied . Thanks to Paul.

Be wary of this company! The owner can be extraordinarily rude. We spent neary £30,000 in 2017 with this company. Some of the works were completed to standard (central heating). Other major works (our bathrooms, WC and washroom) were substandard and it was a battle to get them to listen to my concerns (bizarre behaviours such as attempting to tile over old wallpaper). The owner was completely dismissive of my concerns. Why am I posting this review now? After noticing a foul smell recently, I found out today that the exhaust from the washbasin for our downstairs toilet pours straight into the ground outside of our front door. Yes! They had failed to attach pipes that would allow the waste water to flow into the drain.

Just had a beautiful bathroom installed ahead of schedule and to the highest of standards . A big thank you to Rob and Debbie in the office and also to all the trades especially Simon and Nick. Excellent service provided by Rudkin & Herbert. We had a new Worcester Bosch Combi boiler installed in place of our old heat pump system and the service provided from the word go was fantastic. From going through all the details of the new system at quote stage to the installation by Matt. You couldn't ask for a better service. Carpet protector laid from the minute he arrived to the time he left at the end of the job. Advising when water and gas was being isolated, and general politeness, cleanliness and tidiness the whole time he was there. Even explaining the system controls and how the Worcester Wave works at the end of the job. I will definitely be using them again in the future and would have no hesitations in recommending them to anyone.

Excellent service. Quick to come round for a quote, which they were happy to price match with another quote. They gave us more services for our boiler repair than others offered. When the time came for the boiler to be fitted, the engineer arrived early and worked quickly and cleanly, fully explaining how to control the new boiler and thermostat settings. Boiler move, new boiler and shower installed. Installation date brought forward due to old boiler failing and all work completed within planned timescale. Work was done to a high standard, very neat pipework, even the brickwork was outstanding and matched the original perfectly. Very pleased with the job and would highly recommend Rudkin & Herbert.

Jason and Tom came out to fit seven radiators and a new boiler and a few other things, had quoted to finish in 4 days but finished well within three. The team are helpful, cooperative and extremely patient. More than happy with the work carried out and would recommend in the future as they have done an extremely good job.

We had our new gas boiler and associated pipe work from this company, in September 2017. Very professional and efficient from the start to finish. Good value for money, compared to other potential suppliers, and the installation was first class. Matt, with the help of Ellis, was excellent. Clean and tidy and helpful at all times. This was not the easiest of jobs, but the 'problems' were sorted, with the minimum of fuss. Highly recommended.

Rudkin & Herbert are possibly the best people to speak to if you need a new boiler. Their quote was the most reasonable and for the best quality of work, their office staff were helpful, polite and accommodating and they even managed to squeeze us in early after our boiler completely broke down. Glen and Brooke did a fantastic job installing the boiler and Glen went above and beyond to put our kitchen back to how it was before they arrived. When we need/want some more plumbing/heating work doing I know exactly who we're going to talk to first!

I love my new wet room just finished by the great team at Rudkin and Herbert. They started the job on schedule and completed ahead of schedule. Rudkin and Herbert fitted a new boiler, a new shower unit and ten new heritage type radiators at my Edwardian home in Leicester. The work was done during the heatwave of June 2017 and both engineers worked extremely hard during hot conditions to get the job done, to a high standard, in 4 days. The boiler and shower are working well and thew radiators look great. Obviously as it is still the summer I am not using the radiators yet but I know they were tested and feel confident that, should a problem arise when I switch on the heating during the autumn/winter, that this will be satisfactorily resolved. I have no hesitation in recommending Rudkin & Herbert for this type of work.
