Keys Is Us

My car key completely gave up, I took it to keys is us received Excellent same day service, plugged the computer into my car and reprogrammed me a totally new key fob and cut a new blade. Pete also replaced my battery in my other key fob. All done for the third of the price it would’ve cost at main dealership. Very knowledgeable and helpful.

Contacted Pete after another key cutting shop refused to cut my own supplied key blades. What an amazing service, not only did he cut the keys while I waited his charges were more than reasonable. Would definitely recommend and use again.

Amazing service. So happy with the speed and price for two car keys. Thank you

I had lost the key for my GS BMW panniers when they were locked. I thought I would have to buy new barrel locks and a new pannier handle but with a specialised tool, he managed to not only pick the locks but cut new keys for the existing locks which saved me a fortune! Many thanks Pete, you are an absolute diamond!!!

Have used this shop a few times, once for a key programming and a few times for key cutting. Best prices around, quick and great service and very friendly owner, support this small local business.

Great service as ever. Had 6 high security door keys cut no issues. Pete's knowledge of keys is second to none. Support your lock shops.

Very helpful

Always use these.guys, they are really helpful. Great value.

Awesome service with a great smile. quick house key cut at a very reasonable price. Highly recommended.

Efficient friendly service. Easily the best key cutter in Colchester.

Pete is an excellent locksmith and can provide every key, he also does excellent shoe repairs

Great service will definitely use again. I needed a radial security key cut and Keys Is Us was the only locksmith who could do it

Great service. Like they say, Keys are THEM! If they haven't got it, it's not worth having. 2 car fobs replenished with new batteries in less than 5 minutes and £6.95 each. 100% recommendation. 👌👌👍👍

Met Pete today and he provided a superb service/replacement for my Citroen C3 key fob...Friendly and polite with a fair price...Highly recommended 😁

Sent by Halfords for my key fob battery. Friendly, helpful, cut me a different key straight away. They mend shoes too. A very useful find.

We use Keys Is Us as a business, lovely chap, very helpful and great prices.

Great customer service — the staff were amazing, friendly, and super efficient! They fixed my UGGs in no time and did an excellent job. Really happy with the result and the price was very reasonable. Highly recommend!

Snapped Abus bike lock key held in the vice and carefully cut and it worked. We were able to recover the bike. Thank you

I went here yesterday to get my car key programmed. Great price. Excellent service. I highly recommend.

Fantastic service as always fixing 2 Mini Key fobs at very short notice with new batteries that required soldering. Many Thanks Peter. Steve & Wendy

THI GUY IS BRILLIANT… AND VERY REASONABLY PRICED… HE DOES ALL MY WIFE’S SHOE REPAIRS… AND ALL OUR KEY DUPLICATION (INCLUDING REMOTE CAR KEYS). VERY QUICK SERVICE TOO… THANK YOU PETE 👍

Great Service and very competitive prices

I have been getting car keys for over 20 years from these guys. Very friendly, helpful, always do a good job and most importantly much cheaper than dealers 👍

I'm absolutely astonished at the top-notch job they did in repairing my coveted motorcycle boots. Mind you, I experienced a minor accident that left parts of the sole detaching from the boot, and these people were able to restore them to a pristine condition. They even look better than when I bought them! Brilliant store with excellent customer service and unbeatable rates.

Highly recommend

This guy is fantastic at his job !

Customer service exellent

The owner is a great bloke and will always be welcoming and helpful Got me out of trouble a few times

I was incredibly impressed by the exceptional customer service I received from Keys Is Us this morning. I was expecting it to take quite a long time to fix the problems with my car keys, but everything was resolved within minutes. A brilliant key cutting service that provides excellent value for money.

Messaged enquiry over, replied really quickly we then went to shop easy to find and park, very friendly and knew what he was doing will definitely be going back and highly recommend Thankyou

Great little shop, 2nd time I have visited to get a new car key. The shop owner is always really friendly and offers a fantastic service at a great price. Highly recommend if you have any issues with your keys.

Very professional and friendly service. Thank you again for your help.

I’m the proud owner of a 67-year old foreign classic car. Having broken one of its keys some time ago I called in expecting at the very least that the blank key would have to be ordered but it was in stock and I had the replacement key cut within minutes. Not only that but it worked first time and perfectly. Need a key? Don’t bother going anywhere else. Go straight to this absolute Aladdin’s cave of keys, leather repairs, trophies and much else.

Good stock and helpful owner

Highly recommend, wouldn’t go to anyone else. Pete is a gent and always goes out of his way to help.

Very reasonably priced much cheaper than a usual locksmith and brilliant service. Thank you so much!

Top service, knows his keys! Would always go here in future.

Great service and welcoming. Definitely be back when in need

great experience today . had time to repair old key fob and cut new key

Really friendly and super helpful. Can tell he really cares about his customers and quality of his work! All keys cut have worked perfect and will definitely go back when I need more cut. Have recommended to friends and family!!

I was despairing, having broken the connectors in our car remote key (trying to replace the battery). The gentleman who helped me (in the Keys is Us) shop was wonderful. Before I knew it, he'd got the key remote open, got the gubbins out, put the connectors back in place, closed it all up, and wallop it works. Our car repairers quoted near £400, a key repairer a minimum £180 - compared to next to nothing. Pleased doesn't sum it up - more than excellent - 6 stars if I could. And what a nice kind man - a revelation these days. I definitely recommend. Thank you.

Have been popping in for years, for shoe repair, boots repair and good advice on house keys and car keys. Watch battery’s really good value and only £6,99 unlike Timsons who are day light robbery. The owner is so very helpful and professional has great prices not overpriced like other places. Highly recommend.

Really helpful owner huge range of keys and great shoe repairs

Pete was amazing and did a great job with our top box !! Lovely chap, Brillent service and highly recommended!! Thank you Pete!

Sorted out a new car key for us after the original broke. Great service and great price

Highly recommended by myself and my company too

Highly recommend! Pete's customer service is incredible! He definitely goes above and beyond to help. I phoned him in a panic as a friend of mine had got her keys locked in the car with her little one inside as we were on the school run. He made some calls to get the correct key done, very quickly got a spare made up and got us out of trouble.

Excellent service, quick & very good price.

Went in today and gentleman sorted my key problem quickly, efficiently and much cheaper than I expected! Friendly, helpful and honest. 5stars from me! Thankyou

Pete is fantastic! He's always reheeled and repaired our shoes brilliantly and left them like new. Today he sorted out my Golf car key which wasn't working. Wonderful service and thank you!!

Top top place, so helpful, & very knowledgeable.

Really impressed with Keys Is Us. Friendly and quick service

Great service

Brilliant service, popped round to code a new fob for me as the car is currently SORN, always friendly and helpful, and his keys work unlike some cutters, Have had over 20 keys cut this year for various reasons, all still working 👍🏻 Thanks

Dropped in to get a watch engraved and was able to squeeze it in and done to an excellent standard. Incredible service and attention to detail, will now be recommending to family and friends alike :)

I have used Pete's shop a few times and have always received very polite help. I went to see him a few days ago with a non functioning fob for my Jaguar. Expecting to pay for a new one, Pete first checked it, and advised me it was functioning. He took his computer and fob to my car and did what he referred to as a manual reset using only the fob. Immediately, car and fob are back on line. The cost of this? Zero. "I don't sell my customers what they don't need," said Pete. If you have a key issue then Keys Is Us is the only shop you need. A big thank you, Pete!

Really quick service, even though it was really busy.

Nothing is too much trouble, professional helpful

Pete is a very nice and polite person. I have bought my first car but with only one car key. I searched him in google map with many people comments. I’m glad I found him. Fast and the price is good. Thumb 👍 up. And highly recommend ‘Keys is us’ ❤️

I was told of Keys is Us only yesterday, by a good friend. I had a Harley petrol tank key cut the same day. Excellent service. I tried other key services, but no luck. Many thanks to you sir.

I always come here for my keys and even had an Astra key cut which saved me the dealer price. My most recent visit was because I bought an old French folding caravan that had no key with it. I messaged Pete and asked whether it was possible to have a key made. He told me to bring in the lock and he would have a go. He spent ages searching through codes and then with a bit of trial and error managed to get me a working key. I've refitted the lock and it's now locking and unlocking no problem. It's saved me the nightmare of replacing the barrel or the lock on a not at all standard caravan and for a really reasonable price.

great service overall and fixed my shoe

Exceptional!

Fantastic service. Great fellow that knows what he's doing. 5 star

Very good service good knowledge and great product and prices

Great vets very nice

Always helpful and super knowledgeable. Great service

Absolutely amazing service, this is the 2nd time I have used this company and highly recommended. The man (sorry I don't know your name) even stayed open just after he had closed for the day on a Saturday. Much appreciated

I had a problem that my car key AND the spare both failed. Getting a replacement battery wasn’t easy. I tried a couple of key places. No luck and LandRover wanted £480 for a new key. One key place highly recommended Pete at KeysIsUs as he quoted ‘ he’s an expert’ in all keys. I went straight to KeysIsUs and as soon as I put my keys down Pete knew which car and model I had. He was able to provide me with TWO new keys that work 100%. The service was amazing. Pete’s knowledge is second to none. The cost was SO reasonable I still can’t believe it. What a fabulous find. So very helpful, friendly and professional and not only Car keys; door keys, engraving, shoe repairs too. What a gem of a service. If I could give 10 stars I would. It’s tucked away behind the Bridal shop If you use the postcode/Sat nav. Drive in. Parking at rear.

Great service as usual, reasonable priced and fantastic knowledge of the service.

Super friendly, helpful and quick service. Parking around the back is dead handy too.

First class service!

I always use Pete for cutting or programming keys, through work or personally. He is a million times better than Timpsons. No matter how busy he is, he always fits me in.

A brilliant shop for all your key fob and key needs. All the machines to do everything that the title says

Great service and would recommend!!

Rang up at 9am to enquire about a spare key for our car. By 10 am we were driving off with the key in the ignition and £50 in Pocket over what the main dealers quoted us yesterday. Delighted to have found this cracking little business

Fast efficient service,best prices👍

I have been going here for a number of years, always excellent, honest, and fair service. A league above places like Timpsons etc. A great example of a local, independent business that should be supported.

Super friendly, efficient and helpful! Knew an old trick to re-sync my very old Nissan micra key! He was recommended to me, and I would highly recommend to anyone else.

Top service. Sorted car keys out, super fast. Definitely use again.

Super friendly staff veryhelpfull

Great service car key cut here reasonably price.

Pete has helped me with a couple of car remotes previously and again today. Always delivers and great value. Thanks Pete

Excellent and very helpful chap in here. Nothing seems to be a problem for him to solve!

Popped in for some advice and a couple of keys to be cut, sorted in no time at all, also changed my watch battery as well. Very good service, reasonable prices too, highly recommended this place.

Needed a new key for my car - wasn’t as easy as sounds - but Pete was amazing. Left it overnight and he called me at 8.30am to let me know he’d already done it. So efficient and such a friendly professional guy. Won’t ever go anywhere else!

My local key cutter. If it has a key they can probably cut a replacement. Great for car fobs.

Very quick, helpful and efficient. Would recommend.

Cannot rate this business highly enough. Had a massive issue with my Fiesta key being so worn it wouldn't start the car...so worn that Pete had to suss the cuts because the machine couldn't read it 🙈 got a replacement blade on my original car & then a blank second cut & coded in absolutely no time. Pricing is brilliant too, would have cost me £300+ for a new key from Ford, but paid just £60 for new blade & my blank second cut & coded. Top notch & Pete is a genuinely nice guy too. Highly recommend for any key needs

Been in shop a few times. Can't fault anything about this company.!!! 100%

Once again Pete has delivered an exceptional service. He has fantastic knowledge and has everything you need to hand. If he hasn't got he'll get it. We wouldn't go anywhere else. Highly recommend Keys Is Us.

Very professional service would 100% recommend to anyone 👍🏻

Pete at Keys Is Us is so helpful and I’d highly recommend him to anyone wanting car keys coded, house keys cut, shoe repairs done etc. It’s great to see that businesses such as this are still thriving - support them, they’re so useful and the service Keys Is Us offers is second to none.

My husband popped in this morning to sort ignition key problem. Great service a real gentleman and so helpful.

The Owner was incredibly welcoming and beyond helpful. I would definitely recommend this business to others! Thank you very much for your help today !

Brilliant, polite, helpful, and provided all the keys needed in no time . I would recommend them 👍

Very knowledgeable will use again thanks

Done while I waited and not eye wateringly expensive.

Always absolutely first class service. A loyal customer for 30years.

I have been using Keys Is Us for longer than I care to remember. Pete is a lovely bloke, extremely helpful and honest. He’s cut, fixed and supplied countless amounts of keys with never an issue.

Visited the store a couple of days before my holiday worried as hell that my Toyota Celica wasn't going to unlock when I get back. Had issues for months with my key fob on both current and spare key for being really temperamental for unlocking. (Been ripped off by timpsons in the past and them not agreeing to cut a flip key i provided but didnt have one themselves.) Completely aware the system to sort it out would cost £££. I didn't get the guys name in the store, but after a bit of investigation, he realised that the solder had come off and the buttons weren't placed properly. He resoldered, replaced battery. Working perfectly everytime and only charged me £5 for the battery. I will be returning with my spare, partners keys and plenty more in future due to his honesty and not being a rip off!! Massively recommend this company!

Absolutely amazing service, the work is outstanding. The man was very honest, came up with great solutions and was really good prices. Highly recommend and will come back again!

Good advise given from these guys. Thank you using Alan on your advise

Fantastic service. Above and beyond. A real service based experience. Thanks very much. 👍

Great service and good prices, especially for car keys or fobs.

Can't believe what a brilliant service we received - daughters expensive heels scuffed & supposedly ruined after one wear. Took them in on a recommendation - absolutely amazing 😊Next day service to make good the leather stilleto and new heels - only £10!!👌👌Can't praise highly enough!!

Excellent service, nothings too much trouble. Would highly recommend them.🙂👍

Really quick fix! I came in with a pair of Birkenstocks I'd worn down, and I had the heel of both soles repaired quickly. Thanks!

Very good and quick service. Pete recommended us reliable and affordable option. Thanks

Pete certainly knows his stuff absolutely fantastic service he sorted both my car key remotes at a fraction of the cost at main dealers nothing was to much trouble would definitely recommend this business thanks again will use you every time

Thank you Pete for your help with my key fob today happy customer paul tiptree

Brilliant... Knowledgeable and friendly. Had an issue with my car key fob after it went through the wash. Saved me loads of money, by identifying my car's after market alarm system and even came to my house to help sort the issue. Went above and beyond to help. Can't recommend enough.

So I popped into Keys Is Us today with my ancient riding boots, thinking the zip was broken. The lovely chap fixed the zip within a few minutes, and didn't even charge me! A lot of places would have seen an opportunity to make £40-£50, but instead, he sent me away with a zip that works and a smile on my face. I will definitely be back, hopefully with something that actually needs replacing next time! Thanks so much x

Great, friendly, efficient service. Popped in today as had an issue with both my Volvo smart keys. They were able to fix the issue in a few minutes and a couple of quid when Volvo tried to charge £150 for a diagnostics and then £140ph. Would definitely recommend.

Good prices, quick service. 👍

Excellent service!! Turned up same day, car key re-programmed at extremely reasonable price! Highly recommend!

I can highly recommend this place. Pete is super knowledgeable about his stuff and was really helpful.

Very knowledgeable chap, and reasonable prices. Thanks

Been in here a couple of times but today was my biggest spend. Needed a spare key for my car. Considerably cheaper than main dealer prices and high street key cutters this independent company sorted out a new key programmed to work perfectly. Friendly service and very knowledgeable and beyond helpful with all my questions whilst the key was sorted. Would highly recommend.

Not the easiest place to find. We were recommended by a garage for our key fob problem. Sorted out quickly and cheaply, better than Timpsons for car keys.

Brilliant service at a superb price. Highly recommended

I can't rate this shop highly enough. Were very helpful/informative/friendly, helped save me £120 on a shed lock. Will definitely use them again in future as they're not out to rip you off like many companies just wanting to make excessive money from customers. Actually whilst I was there someone else was also being saved a small fortune too. We need more independent, friendly shops like this back on our streets!

Friendly guy very good at his job he done me a key for my mercedes others Would not do me one as it was too complicated

Superb service. Polite, very reasonable on price, efficient, friendly. Honestly, I would use these every time now, for shoe repairs key cutting (or to buy a trophy!). My wife needed her boots fixed, glued all around the seam. Not only was this done but the gentleman also cleaned and polished them for free. Whole service cost us just £5.

Outstanding service and very helpful. Key snapped off my fob last night, took it this morning for when it opened at 9am and was finished by 9:25. Thoroughly recommend

Same day service and reasonably priced, got my sister out of tricky situation, thank you

Great friendly service replacing car and Van keys

Called at 10.30am today, as had a key which no where else would do, arrived at 11am and I had 2 keys cut there and then. And they fit the padlock and work. Best service I’ve had. 100% recommend this place and wouldn’t go nowhere else after today. Thank you :)

Excellent service

Well done. 👍

Excellent, friendly and fast service

Tucked in behind the bridal shop, opposite Aldi, just before the traffic lights and junction with Straight Road is this absolute gem of a place. Excellent key cutting - recommended to us by our locksmith who had to come and rescue our jammed front door (caused by keys cut on the wrong sized blank from well known high street cleaning and watch repair service). I’ve had keys cut and tricky repairs made to well loved boots - all with fabulous attention to detail. Friendly service and since “we don’t like to see our customers cry in the shop” I got a discount when having 11 keys cut!

Great knowledgeable service, a gem

Very friendly people and very good service and prices are good too.

Needed a second key 🔑 for my car. It was cut a programmed within 25 minutes.

HAPPY CUSTOMER RIGHT HERE! :- ) 5 ***** to Pete. Can’t thank him enough for doing a fantastic job for me today. Cut me a key with fob. Nothing seems to much for this chap. Wants to make his customers happy by doing a great job. I highly recommend. Thank you! 🔑🚗

I called here to see if a key could be made for the boot of my husband's trike, as we'd lost the original. Once I had picture's I txt them and the immediate response was that he could do it but until he'd got the lock off he couldn't say how long it'd take. So we headed straight their, within 30mins not only had the lock been removed but the key made (that fits better than our original). Can't recommend highly enough...

Amazing fast friendly service

Very very good

So pleased I found this place. To replace my automatic fob to open and start my car. Instant purchase and so much cheaper than the dealership . Very good service and excellent service.

Just collected the shoes of my husband, he is very happy with their work. They change the hills and the shoes look perfect again.

Long-established business rocking along with Pete at the helm and long may it continue!

Very helpful

I was recommended by Homebase to visit this key cutting service as they couldn't help with some special keys. When I arrived a very friendly and helpful gentleman advised me that he could cut any key from vehicles, commercial and private properties. In what seemed like no time at all I had all the keys cut and they all worked perfectly. Definitely recommend if you are in any doubt, then please give them a try.
