The engineer turned up on time, solved the problem in 2 minutes and the company very kindly only invoiced for 30 minutes rather than the normal hour. A very kind gesture that's rare these days but which breeds loyalty.
We might share the same name but that’s where my plumbing skills stop. I have used Mark Smith Plumbing and heating for over 10 years and cannot praise them highly enough. They have replaced a boiler and completed tap replacements and general plumbing work for me without any issues at all. They are quick to respond, very reasonably priced and do quality work - they even remind me when my gas safe certs are due. Easy to deal with and trustworthy.

Mark Smith Plumbing installed a water leak detection system efficiently and professionally.
Tustworthy and prompt responses. Had service for very old boiler that was working but service found serious issues . They provided options for replacement. We gave them a key as we were on holiday . New one installed in 3 days . A pipe to a new radiator in the bathroom was a bit cockeye and this was corrected no issue. Greg is specifically responsive and prompt with replies. Their system of job booking with date and time of engineers is efficient and payment is also easy .
I have used MSPH service for over a decade , family run businesses with exceptional quality service, I do recommend them for professional and friendly service.
After my outside tap sheared off the wall after moving some bins, the water started gushing out at high pressure, I had to quickly locate and turn off a very stiff stopcock to shut off the water supply to the house. I called for assistance, and Pete and his team arrived within the hour. They immediately identified the issue and efficiently replaced the outside tap along with some pipework under the sink. A few days later, I noticed further leaks under the kitchen – including one around the stopcock (possibly due to it not having been used much before) and another on a separate pipe. Once again, Pete and the team responded promptly, quickly diagnosing the problems and replacing the stopcock, tap under the sink, and additional pipework. All the work was completed to a high standard, at great value, and with excellent customer service throughout. I wouldn’t hesitate to use them again and would highly recommend them for any plumbing needs.

Annual Service, all done efficiently. Changed schedule at last minute to accommodate school run. Still have outstanding pressure loss...possibly a old pipe leak as we have changed everything else...bring on the thermal imaging!

Greg and his team did a fantastic job for us replacing our old boiler. It was not an easy job as it’s an old house so there were plenty of obstacles along the way. However, the lads got the job done and were efficient, punctual, tidy and kept us informed of what was happening. Booked my boiler service on the date I wanted on line. (very good) Service engineer turned up in the planned time slot. He was polite and efficient and informed me exactly what was in the service Update 23 Feb 2026 again a first class service when I requested an engineer visit in an emergency on a very busy Monday the problem was diagnosed and advice given in a few hours. As it happened it turned out to not be the boiler but the gas supply.

I had a leaking ball valve in my attic. MarkSmith Plumbing did a great job replacing the valve and the price was very reasonable. They had the part ready in the van and did the repair incredibly quickly. Everyone from the office team to the plumber George who visited were all top notch. I had a problem with my central heating - some radiators working and some not. Bleeding the radiators didn't work so I. called Mark Smith. Their man came out the following day, quickly identified the problem and fixed it with no fuss.

Highly recommend this firm, great communication and quality work! They recently refurbished my en-suite bathroom with a new shower, radiator and flooring. My house is quite old (1901) so involved quite a lot of complex pipe work in the project as it was not done correctly previously. Mark came up with the visualisation on how it could look and the final result has exceeded my expectations. The team were reliable, friendly and communicative. Nigel arrived on time and worked solidly throughout the day to get things moving, going above and beyond. Gabor did a great job on the plumping too and everything is working fantastic. Sarah was also a massive help throughout with regular updates on attendance days and also the initial quote. The picture shows the before and after. We have used Mark smith plumbing at our care home a few times now and they have always be reliable very professional and always go above and beyond to get the job done no matter how big or small. Even when we have called them in a emergency situation they have been fantastic and always get us up and running as quickly as possible with as little disruption to the operation in the care home as possible. I must also mention the office side of the operation who are always so friendly and always a pleasure to deal with.

Had a gas boiler service- very friendly staff, clear explanation of work being done and the staff visiting my home were super aware of cleanliness- removed shoes and kept carpet area clean - would 100% recommend this company and will use them again!
We were very pleased with the work (new bathroom) that Mark Smith did for us. Their advice with design and choice of materials was really helpful. The office staff made themselves available whenever we needed information and responded promptly to our questions. The quotation was clearly set out and reasonable. The tradesmen who worked on the project were thorough, careful and clearly very skilled. They kept us up to speed with what they were doing and were very considerate when it came to the inconveniences of having to turn off the water supply! They were punctual throughout and completed the work in the promised two and a half weeks. Overall, we'd have no reservations in recommending them.
We used Mark Smith Plumbing last year to install our new boiler so we asked them to replace 2 leaking syphon valves in 2 toilets. Despite some difficulties in obtaining the correct parts and the job expanding into a bigger one, we were very pleased with the final result and the final invoice was very acceptable.

I recently had a plumbing problem coming from my loft. After contacting Mark Smith a plumber arrived the next day to confirm what needed to be done. Three plumbers arrived the next day and replaced my cold water tank which had been leaking. The job was done with little fuss to me and my home was left in a much better state. Mark Smith Plumbing has been my go to for many years, most recently they pulled out all the stops to rescue me from no heating and no hot water! On Sunday I realised the boiler wasn’t working, on Monday they diagnosed the fault, on Tuesday they presented my options, calmly dealing with all my questions, and by Wednesday evening I had a replacement boiler, a warm house and hot water! Brilliant service!

David on initial call - concerned, responsive and persistent to get an appointment at short notice set up. Then Greg, making it out to the property in good time, diagnosing my problem quickly and giving me multiple options to try and cost save. Exactly what you need and want when a boiler is playing up during winter.
After several false attempts with other firms I was delighted to be given quotations, book appointments which were met and completed by calm ,professional people.
Unfortunately I booked this company to resolve a heating and hot water problem. If I could give them less than one star I would. They didn't have the courtesy to show up for the appointment that I had booked 10 days previously. I had arranged to be at home the whole day for the appointment and they never bothered to inform me that they wouldn't be coming. To make matters worse, that afternoon I called the office to find out where the engineer had got to and they promised to contact James and get back to me. But guess what? They didn't even bother to call back and my later calls just went to the answerphone. They seem to have no respect for their customers or their time. If you're looking for a reliable, professional company I would strongly advise you to look elsewhere!

I thought that installing new taps in my bathroom might be too small a job, but was pleased when my email request was answered promptly and an appointment was arranged very quickly. The plumber arrived punctually and did the work with no fuss, even though my house has imperial sized pipes and the new taps had metric fittings. He cleaned up and left the bathroom with no mess at all. Brilliant!

Mark Smith installed a 7 radiator combination boiler system in December 2018. I have had no problems. Two yearly services by them with very polite helpful service engineers. If I have any plumbing or boiler problems I will definately use this company.

So I called this company due to my shower not letting giving me any hot water. The reason I chose this company is because it said it had no call out fees free quote. Someone came out to look at it and I also asked about a new shower. No response after the person went away. I got a call about 6 weeks later asking if I was still interested in a shower and needed it fixed. Thankfully I found another reliable plumber to fix my shower. Now I’m being sent letters to pay £78. No work was carried out and I have an invoice from the other plumber who did do their job and fix my shower and who I paid promptly!. False advertising about no call out charges. Looking forward to seeing this in court.
