I recently had the pleasure of working with Alex from AJP Gas and Heating after my father’s 20-plus-year-old boiler became increasingly unreliable. Alex carried out a thorough test and quickly identified dangerously high CO levels, clearly explaining the issue and the need for a replacement. Alex and Connor then went above and beyond, fitting a brand-new boiler over a weekend so my father was only without heating for two days. Their workmanship was excellent, professional, and efficient from start to finish. I needed a boiler replacement after my 24 yo conventional potterton finally gave in. I wanted to consider both a conventional and a combi solution. Alex was at my property for a discussion and provided unbiased knowledge to help in my decision. In then provided quotes for both options within a few days. My decision was to remove the conventional in a kitchen cupboard to a combi boiler in the loft with a hive thermostat. We agreed a date for installation and a 50% deposit was paid a week before start. Alex told me it would take 3 days. He turned up on day one on time when he said he would and laid out dust covers. He got on with his work very respectful of my property. Day two he had a colleague with him who was also very respectful of my property and again arrived on time, communicated with me constantly and dust covers laid. The third day, the same. On all three days they work hard. Another colleague came out on day 4 to remove the old flue and rebrick the hole in the external wall. He also arrived on time, respectful and cleaned up after himself. I can’t even notice where the flue originally was. Another man came to pick up the old boiler for correct disposal. I am really pleased with my decision to convert to a combi and really grateful I chose AJP to do the installation and relocation. Alex removed the hot water cylinder from the airing cupboard, boiler from kitchen and cold water storage tank from loft. He laid new loft boards and attached the new boiler to my outside wall in the loft with a flue. He ran the necessary pipework and added pipework insulation. He also changed the mira shower processing unit that was required with the new combi system. He did all this so tidy and professional and to a high quality. Alex himself is polite, courteous and respectful and his advice should be trusted. He was also very low maintenance hardly wanting a drink and didn’t even open the pack of cookies I left with him. I will of course be using him for my annual services. I highly recommend Alex - you are in safe hands.
I contacted Alex after being underwhelmed by the service from another gas engineer company. Alex was punctual, polite and thoughtful about not causing a mess. He found the issue, sourced the part and fixed the issue within a hour. I’m very happy to have hot water again after 3 week and will be using again! Highly recommended.

Alex arrived to supply and fit 2x new radiators and install a new Hive controller system, that had previously been agreed to. He arrived on time and ready to carry out our request. We found him to be polite, professional and courteous to his approach to all aspects of the tasks, from laying dust sheets throughout the house, being respectful of his working environment (our home). The work carried out by Alex was excellent. When Alex left our home having completed his work, you would not have known he had been here. For years I have needed not only my boiler being replaced, but the supply changed from 15mm to 22mm to meet latest gas reg's. The meter was also under the stairs to make matters worse. When the boiler started to leak I knew I had to get the lot done in one hit. I checked all the 100% genuine local people and the first few to price were basically full of excuses and did not want to do the job. And to be honest, I couldn't blame them because in my eyes, neither would I. Alex from AJP heating services popped in to view and we got on well and had a laugh he's a great guy. Anyhow he listened to all I needed doing, made some good suggestions, then said he would drop me the price. The email and price arrived a few hours later and I was very happy with it. He turned up on time, cleaned up and was a pleasure to have working in my home. He removed the meter from under the stairs and put it where it should of been in the front porch directly on the supply. Then run a new 22mm line from it, through the wall behind the toilet, shower, under the stairs, behind all the fitted kitchen without taking any units out and up to the new boiler. I can honestly say I was stunned he had managed such a hard job so clean. I even had him back to fit a new rad in my back extension and bathroom. Again prices being totally acceptable to me. My job was, or should of been a nightmare. But not to this guy. I cannot recommend him enough. Thanks again Alex. You are a top man.
A stress free experience when we needed it! Emailed Alex and got a good quote for a boiler service, he was able to come by just a few days later. Alex replaced an old boiler with a new one, having found a small gas leak on a previous visit. He was very thorough in his search for the problem and explained what he was doing throughout. After deciding on a new boiler, it was fitted to a high standard. Alex’s communication was great and he answered any questions I had quickly.

Alex fitted a new Baxi 400 gas boiler at my tenanted property; as well as undertaking a full power flush of the system, fitting Thermostatic Radiator Valves and a new Smart Thermostat/Programmer. Alex was very knowledgeable and gave helpful advice about which appliances/systems would best meet the needs for the property as well as answering plenty of stupid questions from me with patience. He was always quick to respond. Alex was very punctual in attending to quote and for carrying out the work. The feedback from my tenants was very positive in all respects. I would definitely recommend Alex. Last year in December when my Boiler stopped working I called Alex as a recommendation. He came straight out and diagnosed the issue straight away, within 2 days my boiler was up and running ready for Xmas. A year later December 2022 I had a leak and contacted Alex and again within a day he had fixed it. He’s very reliable and extremely reasonably priced and the work he carries out is to an excellent standard. I wouldn’t use anyone else now as it’s hard to find a reliable tradesman these days that you can trust.

I called Alex out to urgently diagnose a fault on my central heating system, which failed on one of the coldest days of the year. He responded quickly, identified the various issues that were preventing the system from working, worked up multiple quotes to break down the cost for my understanding, and then clearly communicated the timeline for everything to be repaired.
