We honestly can’t recommend Ellis highly enough. We’re based in Talbots Woods and originally hired him to completely rebuild our first-floor balcony, and the results are outstanding. The workmanship is clearly very high quality, beautifully finished, and built to last. Trust me when I say the pictures don’t do it justice. We were so impressed that we later called Ellis out for an emergency repair, and once again he was fantastic. He was extremely responsive, did an excellent job, and his pricing was very reasonable, especially given the urgency. I contacted Ellis as I needed an urgent repair of my brick pillar that had been hit by a vehicle. Ellis was clearly experienced in my requirement and promptly organised a bricklayer who was totally professional and did a fantastic job of replacing the pillar. I have no hesitation in highly recommending the Ellis Lake Group.

We had the Bathroom ceiling repainted after a bodge job by another decorator plus silicone removed and replaced around the bath. Happy with both jobs so rebooked for another job which was time critical. Unfortunately there was a miscommunication and the person doing the job did not turn up leaving us to do it ourselves. It seemed that Ellis was not aware and it was only because I contacted him that he then knew. He did try to rectify by offering to come out on his day off but I had already done the work myself. Hence why still 5 stars for the work done. But really it would be 4 for communication.

We used Richard to complete a range of handyman services - including removal of wallpaper, painting and decorating, some outside gate repairs and fitting new wall and ceiling lights. We really couldn’t recommend him enough. His work is to a high standard and he is very reliable. We have struggled in the past to find someone that can do everything especially if you have a range of things in the house and garden that require repair. We will definitely be using him again!
Myself and my husband have contacted Ellis Lake Group Ltd 4 times and have not been able to get them to respond to us to book in a date/time to come do any work. The first time my husband contacted them, he got no response. He then chased and they told him they were on holiday and will respond when they get back, to which they didn’t. I then contacted them a few weeks later and sent videos of the work we needed to get done to which they didn’t respond. I chased and they said they were on holiday and would get back to me that week, which they didn’t. At this point this means they’ve been on holiday for over a month now. I honestly don’t know how they’ve got such good reviews when we can’t even get a proper response from them.

Ellis and his team responded to my enquiry to swiftly replace a damaged door and kitchen sink in a holiday let property that I manage. It was awkward because the work needed to be done between guests and prior to the owner returning to the property - this left us with a window of less than a day. This wasn’t a problem for them, the work was carried out extremely efficiently and to an excellent standard. Ellis couldn’t have been more helpful and he and his team will be my first port of call with any future works I might have. I couldn’t recommend more highly.

Plastering services were requested from Ellis Lake Property Services to address holes created by a boiler engineer during a flue installation, as well as to install flue inspection hatches. All holes have been filled, and the inspection hatches have been installed, effectively eliminating drafts in the hallway. I used Dorset Handyman to move furniture in preparation for flooring being laid. This was a very good service, efficient with no fuss and did exactly what was wanted. I was really pleased with the results.

I had no experience of this company but was really impressed with how quickly Ellis responded to my initial request, agreeing a date and time and a price. Ellis and Paul arrived bang on time with clean vehicles, were pleasant and cheerful, very respectful of my home and carried out the work exactly as requested and then cleaned up the areas where they had been working. His response was it was his day off and if I sent photos he would quote a premium price? I had the lovely Ellis fit a dishwasher for me. It required an extra part to be connected that I was struggling to source myself and required a bit of muscle to move the unit. He was knowledgeable, responsive, trustworthy and very efficient. I'd definitely recommend him especially as a single woman I felt in safe hands.

I'm useless at anything DIY, so finding Ellis to help with some odd jobs around the home has been a god send for me. He has helped on smaller jobs such as hanging picture frames, installing a keysafe outside, installing a retractable washing line, to adjusting my fitted kitchen cabinet unit to allow for my new washing machine, which was larger than the original. Ellis is very particular in that he likes to get things perfect, nothing is too much trouble and he can turn his hand to most things in the home and the garden.
