I recently had a Tesla charger installed by Downlight Electrical and couldn't be happier with the result. Nick, the installer, was amazing from start to finish. Downlight Electrical have done work for me before and so when I needed an EV charger I contacted them. The installation is excellent, cabeling hidden very well and the charger itself is working well. Everyone I dealt with at downlight was extremely professional and helpful. I would use them again without hesitation.

What can I say, great company to deal with, I had to do some checks about where things were going etc. But a day for the trench work to be done under the path and from the picture you wouldn't know it had been done, the cable work all done very neatly and tidily, installed in the agreed location (I added the little cover), all done on time and on the booked date. Everything was explained, charger setup and very happy with the result It was £2k but, the installation was quite complex with trenching, footpath being dug up, re-laying and havin to deal with a Grade II listed building in a sympathetic way

An amazing experience throughout with these guys for my recent EV charger. Ellie was great and gave a good first impression of a local company. She arranged for a quote to be done very quickly following a call with Ed who again was knowledgable and answered all my questions. My installation was booked just 2 days later. Nick the engineer was very friendly, extremely neat and was done within about 90 minutes. On top of everything the price was cheaper than anyone else I spoke to. Couldn’t have asked for more and would recommend Downlight to anyone!

We recently approached Downlight Electrical enquiring about the installation of an EV Car Charger. Right from that initial contact I was impressed with their service. From the initial quote where they were very knowledgeable and transparent about options and pricing through to installation (where no hurdle was too big for them to overcome) and after sales support for handover, liasing with the DNO etc. I cannot fault the experience. A special thanks to Lee who persisted in finding a solution for parallel EV & battery charging on our install and was down to earth and approachable throughout the whole process.

We had an EV charger installed and also some network cables. Since the charger was installed we had issues with it 3 times. A charger error, then water ingress into the charger fuse box and now it stopped working altogether. The network cabling was poor as well, blown bricks and shoddy workmanship.

Requested a few quotes from other EV charger companies. None of them queried about my old 65 amp fuse box except for Downlight who explained that it needed to be changed and duly informed & liaised with SSE to have it changed. Ellie has been great in keeping me up to date with the process. The engineer was punctual and did a great job. Very pleased. Will definitely recommend Downlight.

If I could give this company 6 stars I would. I had them quoting against 2 other recommended companies, but Downlight Electrical were by far the nicest people to talk to. From start to finish I can not fault this company. Ellie discussed booking appointments to suit my diary. Ed talked me over the installation and guided me on the best EV unit to have. Nick, was amazing. Messaged me to say he was on his way. When arrived went over the installation and assisted me in deciding the best route for the cable. Once installed showed me how to operate the EV point and reassured me that if I had any problems he would return to fix. Overall, this company I would recommend for installing an EV at your home.

EV Charger installation - From initial enquiry, to completion, excellent. Appointment easy to book, Charlie came and visited and shared excellent knowledge and experience. Due to location of Consumer Board not an easy install, but always a can-do attitude. Ellie has been excellent at managing the pre-install process (electric upgrades etc…), and easy to arrange an install at convenient time. The Downlight team were great from the moment I first contacted them up to and including installation. They managed the entire process from start to finish. Unlike the faceless EV charger companies, Downlight will come in person and advise on installation and complete the survey. Elliot did a great job come installation day, making the whole process painless.

I can thoroughly recommend Downlight Electrical. We had an EV charger installed by them a week ago and they were extremely professional to deal with from first contact to the last. They quickly arranged a video call so that I could show them where the charger was to be mounted and they could check the fuse box. They were then able to perform the installation 2 days later. Elliott arrived on time and was friendly and professional. The installation was very neat and he even waited a few minutes for my wife to come home with the car so that he could show us how to use the charger.

I wanted a fuse box upgrade in our home along with new spotlights to be fitted in a bathroom as part of a refurb project I was completing. From enquiry to sorting out dates Ellie has been great always replied and explained things clearly. I didn’t meet the engineer but my wife and said they made everything nice and easy.

I’ve just had an EV charger fitted by these guys. From the first contact everyone I’ve dealt with from Ellie the office coordinator , Ed who conducted the pre installation video call and Nick who did the fitting have been polite, professional and extremely helpful. I was fortunate to get a cancellation slot and so the time from initial contact to the fitting was less than a week. The price was good and Nick’s installation work was exceptional. I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Downlight Electrical for anyone needing an EV charger.

When it came to the fitting Tom came exactly as planned, advised on the best positioning based on his knowledge and went out of his way to prep to ensure my electricity was off for no more than 5 minutes. I looked for local EV charger installers on the Fleet FB group & Downlight was highly recommended, I had already had a quote from Ohme which came in significantly above their advertised installation price & the installation date was 4 weeks. I decided to ask Downlight for a quote, they were very quick to get a survey carried out and although the quote was slightly higher than Ohme’s I felt more comfortable with their attitude and friendly manner. The work was carried out within 8 days of the initial enquiry by Tom, everything went smoothly and he was very friendly & tidy. I would highly recommend Downlight for EV charger installation and based on my own experience any electrical work you might wish to have carried out, give them a call you will not be disappointed.

On the day of my booking, I received a text 15 minutes beforehand to let me know Ed from Downlight Electrical was on his way. Overall great but I asked for a second quote to wire in a standby generator at the same time. Never got the quote….and when the fitter arrived he asked where the box should go when I thought he would have been briefed. Not a huge deal but lack of attention to detail was disappointing

Downlight have rewired my house, fitted solar panels along with the inventor and batteries in addition to helping arrange and install an air source heat pump. Due to the the long running job and different elements involved i got to meet many different members of the team. I was really impressed with how professional the team were with all of the work they carried out to high standard and snag free. A big plus was the communication was clear and frequent meaning everything was carried out exactly as we requested. All the team we meet were really friendly and nothing was ever to much trouble meaning they were great to work with. I would highly recommend and i will use again in the future.

I encountered a complex wiring issue with my electric cooker hob and sought assistance from various electricians without success. Charlie and his team have been fantastic from start to finish. We just opened up a new showroom in Winchfield and needed much brighter lighting due to being in a barn conversion and needing "daylights" for Bespoke fittings and to browse fabrics with clients. It's made a huge difference and we will always use Downlight in the future for both work and home. The next job is to have the workroom kitted out with new lighting.

Lee came around and reviewed our requirements at our house which, up to that point, other companies wanted us to complete things online and send off photos. I have had several bits of work completed by Lee at Downlight Electrical. We have had our consumer unit replaced, new extraction fan in the bathroom fitted, outdoor sockets installed front and back, additional sockets added indoors, hardwired ring doorbell and high level ring floodlight camera installed. All done with exceptional professionalism, all completed in a timely manner and all done at a very reasonable cost. Charlie is so polite when initially communicating and this continued when Lee took over to arrange carrying out the work. Always responsive and understanding. I cannot recommend these guys highly enough (which is why they are always my first response whenever anyone asks for an electrician!)

Downlight Electrical came to my rescue after another local builder let me down, it was short notice but they got it done quickly and efficiently and also recommended Ben the tiler who completed the work and also did a superb job. Would definitely highly recommend both.
