We have been using M J Burt for a number of years now and highly recommend them for all your heating and plumbing needs. They have always been super helpful and knowledgeable on a variety of issues across different properties both old (1860s and 1926) to newer builds.
What a breath of fresh air these Maintenance team are, From Jenny down in the office to the guys that do the work, they all cannot be helpful enough, Highly Reccommended.

We are delighted with our new bathroom created by Lewis and Jennie. At the planning stage Jennie had a sensible and practical approach that lead to an elegant look which made the best use of space. Lewis and his tradesmen were very considerate and ensured that they had the minimal impact on us whist they were here. They showed both care and skill in their work ensuring an excellent finish to the job. Inevitably there were a few issues with the fixtures and fittings supplier but Jennie calmly resolved them all to our complete satisfaction. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.
We were impressed with the skill and efficiency shown by Lewis when he fitted our Quooker tap. He’s very knowledgeable and Jenny was most informative on the phone. We will certainly be using this company again.
A professional and friendly service. Needed a radiator removing, pipework rerun and vertical rad fitting. Service was excellent and the work was done to a very high standard.
Last week I had a new bathroom toilet installed. To begin with, the workmen had to visit me on a few occasions to discover what the problem was with the old toilet. They were always efficient and always on time, polite and friendly. Also, it was a pleasure speaking to the office about my problem. I would certainly use the company for any more plumbing jobs I might have in the future and would recommend the firm to anyone who has any plumbing difficulties.
Happy customer here, can only say great things about Lewis who did our boiler service and repairs. From start to finish he kept us informed and aware of what needed doing. We also wanted to upgrade the thermostat and the Magnetic Filter, which he did for us, at a fair price for parts and labour. What drew me to M J Burt, was the fact that they publish their service prices on their website, as well as what each service level contains. That’s outstanding! compared to “some” who like to load prices if they think the customer can afford more. (sorry but you know it happens). I believe they look after heating and plumbing, so I’ll be using them when the need arises.
A very friendly and efficient service. Lewis just gets on with it and always does a great job, and Jenny manages the booking and invoicing efficiently.
We booked an appointment on 9th January 2025 and Lewis visited our property and took details of works we needed with the promise of a quotation within the week. Despite several polite chasers by email and phone call with apologies and promises of “we’ll get the quote to you by end of this week” (same promise 2 weeks running!!) … it is now 19th February, and no quote! Needless to say we have taken our custom elsewhere and been given the level of service we hoped for from MJ Burt. Avoid this business!
At the start of the job a leak occurred whilst Lewis was manhandling existing pipes going across the ceiling of the garage extension. He did fix this and it was included as part of the overall work. The new radiators that were installed are working fine & there were no further problems after the work was completed.
Have worked with Martin Burt & his team for over 10 years on all aspects of home maintenance, painting & decorating, roof repairs, flooring, conservatory repairs, drainage, plumbing, new boiler installation.....what you see is what you get, honest advice, thorough professional workmanship, excellent follow-up, realistic pricing.....rare qualities in this day & age.
We are thrilled to bits with our bath to Shower conversion completed by M J Burt. The team were all very polite, respectful and most importantly, clean and tidy! They were a joy to have in our home. Lewis came out to do the finishing touches and we requested an extension to the shower screen and this was no bother. We are so impressed, they are going to come back out to "tart up" the other half of the bathroom and we have recommended them to friends and family. Thank you again everyone.

Very delighted with the work done to my balcony. I moved recently and inherited a rotten balcony covered with fake grass. I now have a repaired balcony covered with lovely decking. They worked in freezing weather with no complaints! Work started and finished on time.
Absolutely fantastic service repairing and painting our junior doctor rest facilities (bedrooms and bathrooms) at Poole Hospital on the doctors accommodation floor. Martin was so obliging, his team were extremely friendly and the work they produced was outstanding given the busy corridor in which they had to work. I would thoroughly recommend Martin and his team - no job is too small and their attention to detail is superb. We are so grateful that they were able to make our vision a reality.

This company are an absolute disgrace to the industry. They were booked by me to do a refurb on a flat in Bournemouth. A lot of time and planning going into it by myself to have a smooth run. Literally at the last minute they let me down, because a worktop which had been ordered, became unavailable. This apparently was my fault! They pulled out last minute, leaving me with a HUGE problem. Most unreliable, unethical and unprofessional company I have ever come across.
The work was to seal leak between window frame & wall. Work was done to good standard, completed on time and to quotation. Martin was at all times informative, helpful & polite. I would have no hesitation of using him again or giving high recommendation.
