Great shop with good principals and attitudes towards customers. Old fashioned type of shop, which is becoming very hard to find in the UK. It's an independent shop run by owner Martin and many years of experience Paul. Always a pleasure to use with a good range of products and accurate advice. Unfortunately, unlike the big boys, it's struggling, so please use it or loose it..
I was very disappointed with Merrill's dealing with me over a hand held vacuum cleaner I took in for them to investigate its problem. I explained what the vacuum was doing (pulsating) and left it with them. A few days later they rang to say it needed a new battery at £74.00 !!!! Of course I collected it and did not purchase a battery from them at that price !! On their diagnosis I bought a new battery from Amazon at £25, albeit not a named brand. However, I then discovered that the filter on the top lifted out and youtube suggested to stop pulsing you merely rinse the filter under the tap and put back in. This I did and the pulsating stopped. I know that Merrills would have known what was wrong with the hand held vacuum cleaner, its their business to know and it is deplorable that they tried to sell me at £74 battery for something they could do for free. Likely is they would have kept the old battery where it was and swilled the filter under the tap. I am now left with a spare battery as the existing works fine. I felt that was a dirty trick to play on a longstanding customer who will not go back there again. Shame on you Merrills.
Good old fashioned sales service with expert advice even if they don't have what you want are willing to help you get it
Good service, spoke on phone first, they had parts at same price as internet but I could get them straight away. Good local store and they deserve our support.
The best by miles for advice, quality of service and repairs. Proper experts who know their stuff and are fair with pricing.
I managed to walk the few steps to get in but it's to small a shop to get a wheelchair inside, the item I needed was not in stock but he kindly told me where I might be able to purchase it from. He has always been helpful and is very knowledgeable about huge range of items. Over the years this shop has helped me sort many problems he is always polite and treats me as human and talks to me some will speak to my partner assuming I don't have a clue, 10 out of 10 evert time, well done & many thanks for help over the years.
Polite and professional customer service, very reasonably priced and had my item in before the original quoted day. I would not hesitate to recommend or use them again.
Small retailer, very friendly and helpful. You can get things here that larger stores dont stock and at very reasonable prices
