The floor gives under your weight, dips in one spot, or makes the furniture and glassware move when you walk past.
Click-together planks have pulled apart, leaving a line you can see and feel between them.
Blisters, ridges or soft raised areas have appeared in sheet vinyl or luxury vinyl tiles.
Waves or ridges have appeared across a fitted carpet, often running the width of a room or across a landing.
Solid or engineered boards have curled up at the edges, or risen in the middle, so the floor no longer reads flat.
Part of the new floor sounds hollow, sinks slightly underfoot, or has a visible step between planks.
