We had a big job done in our hallway and landing all the old render taken off, walls and ceilings re-boarded, and everything freshly plastered. From start to finish Ben was extremely professional, proper grafter, and nothing was too much trouble. The quality of the work is first class, and they left the place immaculate afterwards, which makes such a difference on a job of this size. Couldn’t recommend them highly enough if you need plastering done, these are the people to call.

Came round to skim bedroom and en-suite and the finish was second to none. I’ve had other plasterers in the past and always been a little dissatisfied with the finish however Butler and Sons smashed it out. In addition, was clean and tidy and fairly priced would highly recommend and will be to friends and family 👌🏻😊

Unfortunately, my experience with Dom was not a positive one. Throughout the project, he demonstrated a lack of reliability and professionalism that ultimately led to a number of avoidable issues and disappointments. Dom frequently failed to arrive at the agreed-upon times and often did not communicate in advance, making it difficult for us to provide the necessary access to water and facilities, as previously arranged. On several occasions, due to not notifying us ahead of time, he climbed over our gate—causing damage in the process. Disappointingly, this was not acknowledged or addressed when we raised the issue. During the removal of old render, Dom inadvertently cut through an outdoor light cable. While accidents can happen, the more concerning aspect was that he failed to notice the damage himself. We only discovered it by chance, and the issue posed a potential fire hazard. It then took quite some time for this to be repaired, which significantly delayed the project. There were also concerns about on-site conduct. We found alcohol cans among the waste, and when we brought this up, Dom responded defensively, saying he had a right to drink with colleagues. Regardless of the circumstances, consuming alcohol during a job raises serious questions about professionalism and safety and I can’t say I know any other companies who take part in drinking on the job, despite the heat. Billing also lacked transparency. A charge was added for one week of scaffolding hire, despite no scaffolding being used. When we questioned it, the charge was revised to a lower amount for trestle hire, which makes us concerned that this would not have been corrected without our intervention. Additionally, Dom brought different labourers each time, none of whom were introduced or consistent. This rotating cast of helpers raised questions about the reliability and qualifications of the people working on our property. The worksite was left in poor condition. Debris was scattered throughout the garden, and flower beds were trampled. While some mess is understandable with construction work, a greater level of care and consideration would have been appreciated. In terms of workmanship, the quality fell well below expectations. There were areas with exposed wood, broken skirting left unrepaired, and generally subpar finishing. Due to the overall experience, we chose not to ask Dom to return to rectify the issues and instead opted to hire someone else to complete the job properly. All concerns were communicated respectfully, but the response we received was often dismissive. Based on this experience, I would not recommend Dom’s services and would advise others to exercise caution when considering hiring him.

It was a fairly straightforward bathroom ceiling repair following a leak. Dom was prompt to respond to my enquiry, turned up when he said he would, and undertook the repair with no fuss. Had some work done in my bedroom and after days days of work it was finished and he packed up and left. I had to call him back due to issues with the finish of his work, also the fact he hadn't removed any of his rubbish from the job, he had also broken some skirting and architrave. He said that he couldn't remove rubbish due to tipping fees and that basically he was not responsible for replacing any broken timber. Anyway he came back to redo the work he accepted that there were problems with and finished and went away again. I have since find the same issues with the finish which he won't accept that he is responsible for and suggested that I sand and fill a newly plastered wall, which I find completely unacceptable. I suggest looking for someone else to do your work.
