Called at 10:30am about a problem with 3 locks - 1:30pm, they were onsite, no nonsense, all replaced, fixed within an hour, for a very reasonable price - and by a knowledgeable, genuine guy. Can't fault them - 10/10 for service, knowledge and product.
If you need a car key cutting, and have got a quote from your car manufacturer or other locksmith, that a new key would cost hundreds or even more than 1000 pounds, try here before you go anywhere else. I can guarantee you the price difference will astonish you. I realised that the others are greedy charlatans. Basic replacement keys don't need to cost so much. I've used this locksmith for decades, whenever I need keys cutting or to purchase door furniture and locks. They are a trustworthy company in my book.

Super friendly, realistic pricing. What's not to like. I needed a second key for my motorhome. Fiat wanted in excess of £300. Martin wanted £60. This is for a key with a chip embedded in it and is not something all key cutting places can do. Well Wessex can do it because it is not just a key cutting place though that is certainly on the menu. No, this is a proper locksmiths, the like of which are few and far between. If you are in this part of the world and need keys cut, door locks, safes etc etc. This is where you should head. I lost my car keys a few days before Christmas and didn’t have a spare. Also, my car door locked. Wessex locksmiths were so efficient and professional . I reported it about 4pm and 24 hours later they had a new key cut and came to my home and sorted. Lee also sorted a couple of issues on my car that were over and above his remit. I cannot recommend enough. Sam was also very helpful.

I used these guys to cut a key for a lock from an old 1930’s bungalow interior door and to try and fix another lock that had literally fallen apart, ( Simon ) I think was his name was very helpful from the moment I spoke to him explaining what was needed and the expected cost. These guys were absolutely brilliant. Saving the day releasing a bike from a locked bike rack on our car after the keys had gone missing 4hrs from home. Not only was the bike unscathed (and usable for the weekend event) but they were able to make us new keys & put the lock mechanism back together so the rack is fully functional for our return journey home. They fitted us in 5 mins before closing and stayed late until everything was sorted. They were super professional & efficient and all for an amazingly reasonable price, with lots of smiles, good humour (relieving a stressful situation) & a clear enjoyment and love for what they do. I just can't fault Wessex Locksmith on Abbotsbury Road. Two days ago my lock broke unexpectedly, leaving me trapped out of the house. I was particularly concerned as I had a very small chihuahua pup in the house who tends to annoy my older, larger dogs. I was concerned for his safety without my supervision. When I explained this to Wessex Locksmith they came immediately and were here in five minutes. He fixed the lock and diligently filed down a new part so that it fitted correctly. This young man (I can't remember his name but he is tall and blond) was so kind, polite, thorough and professional. He is a real asset to the team. I have to say I have used this firm four times now over the years and they are definitely the one I always try first. They are fast, efficient, polite, professional and with great 'old school' 'proper' ways. They are also reasonably priced, compared with most places. Thanks again.
By far one of the most professional companies I've ever had the pleasure of coming across. I emailed wessex locksmiths on a Sunday, very late, and by 9am the next morning (Monday), I had all the answers to all questions I'd asked, and even extras to ones I didn't. The Locksmith, Sam, is very knowledgeable about what he has to do, and answered every question I had with ease and confidence. Sam made a stressful situation very much less stressful. The work is to a very high standard; the lock is new, but it looks like it was always there. Sam is truly a perfectionist and loves his job which shows. Thank you All the best.

Young Lee, cut a new ignition key, set up a new door fob, and to my surprise cut a special deadlock key, which I haven't been able to get elsewhere. Once the keys were cut, Lee popped out to my van and checked everything thing worked . All done in 20 minutes, and half what I had been quoted earlier. Super service, thanks lads. Highly recommended

I'm so glad I used this company to install locks in my new house. Sam assessed my house so he could order the correct size locks and he was very polite and informative when explaining the difference between 1, 2 and 3 star locks. I chose the 3 star locks as I wanted to make sure my insurance company couldn't refuse a claim if someone ever broke in. A few days later Lee visited and installed the locks. Lee was also amazing! He was super nice and installed the locks quickly. He even adjusted the hinges on a set of double doors that rubbed together when they closed. I could see that the locks Lee installed were much thicker and higher quality than the originals and the new keys were also a lot thicker. All of the locks work so much more smoothly than the originals. They turn very easily and there's no movement on any of the doors if you jostle the doorknobs when the doors are closed and locked. It's also so much easier to luck and unlock the new cylinders. And the adjustment of the double doors is incredible - I no longer have to lift the door to lock it :-) If I had purchased some cheap locks from a hardware shop they would have been cheaper, but they would never have worked as smoothly (or been as secure) as the '3 star' locks I purchased from Wessex Locksmiths. And these locks will last the entire time I own the house. Highly recommended.

Amazing company. Having recently bought a refurbished 1939 piano, I struggled to find a replacement key to lock the lid ,as the original had been lost. It became some what of a obsession, because it soon became clear that it not a standard piano lock or key. I tried many keys! To my delight not only did Wessex locksmiths (A wonderful chap called Nik) reply by return email, new keys were made within a day of receiving the lock, and sent back very quickly. I also got a follow up email, just to check the lock & key worked ok. Nik also made the lock keys look the same age!!! What magic!!! Has made me , and my stunning piano very very happy!!! After a recommendation I contacted these guys via their website (on Thursday) in regards of a new remote car key as I only have one for my vehicle which has being playing up some time now and was basically on it last legs. Had a response with minutes asking my car reg to work out a quote. It was also mentioned that potentially my old car key could be refurbed so i would have a spare key moving forward for the vehicle if it was fixable. The quote I recieved (within half an hour of initial contact) for a new remote was £80 less than the quote I receieved early from the cars manufacturer's local dealership garage so I thought it was worth a try. I rang the shop Friday morning to check availability on getting booked in, made an appointment that afternoon, both keys were sorted while I waited, which was just over half an hour. Both keys in total cost me £50 less than the quote I got for one new key from the dealership garage. No brainer - I highly recommended these guys if you want a friendly, knowledgeable, quick and cost effective solution for any locksmith tasks. Massive thanks again guys, Tracie

I've had hundreds of keys cut here over the last 20 years, I've had door keys and car keys cut, I've bought locks and had a safe key made as the original was lost, which was a challenge as the safe was really old and the key was very unique. I look after a lot of properties and when i need a key I will not go anywhere else. Today I'm going in to get a new door lock and seven keys for an HMO, all I have is photo of the original lock, but I know they will solve my problem. What tickles me, is I see lots of other locksmiths use them aswell.

I recently needed a new key being built for my car, was quoted a really good price and alot cheaper than the main dealer. Everyone there was helpful, polite and efficent took approx 30-45mins yo build a key and program it to the car. Would deffinatly recommend and use them again

I needed a locksmith urgently as my elderly father couldn't be reached and had left his keys inside the lock. When I explained, two men turned up within five minutes, got the door open and helped me without hesitation with what turned out to be a tragic situation. They were efficient, professional, kind and absolute gentlemen. They refused to take their fee, as is their policy in these circumstances, and demonstrated that Wessex Locksmiths have integrity, family values and are a credit to Weymouth.
