I contacted LockFit Manchester West Locksmiths for a door lock and bolt hardware repair and was not happy with the service. The repair did not last long and the lock started sticking again after a few days. It felt like a temporary fix rather than a proper repair. The price was also higher than expected for the work done. Very disappointing overall.

Called Steven in the morning about a faulty door lock and he arrived within an hour. He diagnosed a worn gearbox, replaced it on the spot, explained everything, priced fairly, and left the area tidy—lock works perfectly.

My Mrs and I mistakenly locked ourselves outside on Thursday 28th August, 2025. I checked online and LockFit Manchester was the closest locksmith to me, I gave him a call and he asked that I sent him a picture of my door just so he could see what type of lock so that he could price me before coming over. I did that and within 15mins he was at my property to open the door for us. He did a wonderful and efficient job...and he was also very quick in doing it. I recommend his services 100th%

Our front door lock was broke, Steven was quick to attend, fairly priced and kept us in the loop when having to buy parts.

Summary: Feel ripped off! Door lock worn out in just four months and left me locked out of my property It might seem like your door is fixed, but you may experience problems with it after just a few months. In just four months, the door became jammed and on some occasions, it started unlocking itself. I had to call out another locksmith who was shocked at what he believed to be a poor-quality fitting. I found Steve very frustrating to communicate with. It felt like I was speaking to a child after being sent a litany of grammatically incorrect sentences that didn’t make much sense. At one point over WhatsApp, he tried to deny that he had fixed the door before I presented him with the facts. He tried to justify doing a bad job on the door by comparing it to a faulty gearbox. Now, he will say that I ignored his WhatsApp call to come and look at the door, but this is my response: • When he told me that he had several other jobs and couldn’t give me an estimated arrival time, I wasn’t going to wait for hours standing outside my flat • I don’t spend my time focused on WhatsApp • Could have sent me a text or phoned me if he wanted to reach me. If you don’t want to end up stranded and unable to get into your house, I would not recommend Lockfit Manchester.

The classic broken door lock after a long day at work! What a nightmare! Called lock fit at 7ish and Andy showed up before 8pm. Within a 20 minutes he had replaced the barrel, checked over my mechanism, advised me on general door maintenance and was done. Not bad at all for £75. Honest, knowledgeable and very friendly. 100% would recommend.
