We actually had our oak parquet floors sanded and hardwax oiled 7 years ago by Winchester Wood Floors. The reason for the review is that we need to repair a small area due to water ingress and I called Alex to find out what finish we had on our floors and could we touch up any areas that needed to be sanded. Alex was so helpful and gave me all the information I needed before realising that they could actually do the repairs! The other point is that my beautiful quarter sawn oak parquet looks as good today as it did 7 years ago and you can't really get a better recommendation than that. I have included photographs to show how amazing and careful Alex and his team were with our rather large furniture including a grand piano. The quality and longevity of the finish to the floor stands testament to their experience, knowledge and professionalism.
Alex replaced an original oak floor that had sadly been ruined by a burst pipe. The new floor is, if anything, even better than the old floor - beautifully installed and finished, with exceptional attention to detail on things like the trim around the range cooker and the fireplace. He also beautifully blended with part of the flooring that had survived - you wouldn't know they were installed at different times. Alex went above and beyond for us and his communication was excellent throughout. We're delighted!
Alex and his team (Joe and Josh) did an amazing job sanding and lacquering our parquet floors. The previously dark and blotchy flooring has been transformed to a floor that we love. They were very professional and friendly. We would definitely use them again.
We’re so happy with the results, our wood floors look absolutely amazing! The whole job was completed in just two days, and they worked perfectly to our timeline as we wanted everything finished before furnishing and moving in. Alex was our main contact and was fantastic to deal with. He explained how the wood works in a really clear, easy-to-understand way - even using cricket analogies, which we both loved (as I happened to be wearing an England Test sweater!). There was an issue with a rushed, glued floorboard from the previous owners, but Alex and the team fixed it completely and now it’s not noticeable at all. Quick, professional, easy-going, and great attention to detail. Highly recommend!

We had the whole of our downstairs sanded. Alex was really knowledgable about the wood and what would or wouldn’t work stain wise. The result is brilliant and no more horrid orange tinted floor! Amazing transformation of our very worn wooden floors, thanks to Winchester Wood Floors! Photos attached of the difference. Alex did an initial quote, and provided some great advice on how to proceed. The quoted cost was good value, and provided a clear description of the works. The work itself was carried out by two guys, who did an excellent job. They communicated throughout, left no dust, and managed to fix a rotting beam under the floor without leaving any trace of taking up floorboards. Thank you!

We spoke to Alex following an extension to our home and the laying of reclaimed parquet flooring to match our existing flooring, he visited us a few days later to assess the work, provided much useful advice on finishes and we had a quote a few days later. The work has now been completed to a very high standard, it was completed quickly and efficiently and with amazingly little dust to be found which given this work included our hallway was very welcome. I had considered doing the work myself, it would have taken much longer, I could not have achieved anything like the same level of finish and the relatively modest cost savings made calling in the professionals a very easy decision. I would recommend Winchester Wood Floors without reservation, fast, friendly, knowledgeable and professional thoughout. We are delighted with our finished floor, thank you!
I got in contact with Alex as we needed some upstairs floors sanded and finished. We were on a tight timeframe to have the floors completed before delivery of some large wardrobes and Alex did a great job of arranging things. His team also needed to replace some chipboard and work around the plumbers finishing the bathroom and we're very grateful for their understanding and flexibility not to mention their sense of humour! Mark & Josh did a fantastic job of our original hardwood floors. They were previously dark stained, and it has transformed the house! They were on time and very professional throughout.
