Many customers report prompt, tidy work on jobs such as replacing fuse boxes and fitting lights, with some praising fair pricing and quick issue resolution. Conversely, several reviewers criticise the business for raising quotes shortly before or during jobs, altering agreed payment terms, and demanding advance or immediate payment. In some cases, these pricing disputes led to cancelled bookings and strained communications.

Sadly this is the 1st time I bothered to check out "Richmond's" website and beoy he really is true to disappointing type!! He responded to my ad which gave full details of my requirements with pics - quoting £500. But then arriclved and tried to bump me for £1200. Is not by force, so I left it. However, life is busy and I didn't get chance to sort it, so rang him back. He sent asme quote and I responded I would only pay £1k -Cash. We agreed Weds and Thurs, - all good. Late afternoon Tues, suddenly.sends msg saying he wants 50% B4 starting. These made up T&Cs are NOT stated or mentioned anywhere previously, so I say I am prepared to give 40% upfront, cash on meeting at the job tomorrow. Enroute and 10mins from site, see a message where he states "people like me are problematic!!?". HOW?? WE had a verbal contract and an agreement, U repeatedly move the goalposts, but then try to shame me as being the issue. A pointless back and forth ensued - end result I am giving an honest review (receipts: our WA exchange are available to prove the truth and how it went down). In process of feedback I see the numerous accounts of him doing very similar to others. I rarely give reviews, but I strongly suggest you stay FAR AWAY from Richmond of Blue Rose Electrics, his levels of Professionalism (Integrity, Transparency and Honesty) are seriously ZERO!!!! U can't give Zero stars, otherwise that is what I would seriously be awarding for this Waste of Time and Space.!
Richmond did a quick & tidy job on refitting our lights. Would recommend.
Excellent and quick service, highly recommended
Richmond (and his partner) quoted a fair price to upgrade my fusebox, and I was asked to pay in full in advance, which seemed a little unusual, but I had already met his business partner before when he did an EPC for me, and he seemed honest and reliable, so I was not too worried. Richmond turned up when he said he would, and did a good job. He was friendly and efficient. The problem with changing a fuse box is that it can reveal issues with the wiring in the building that weren't apparent beforehand. So no electrician can give a definitive price. In my case, on testing the system, there was one plug with a small defect, which Richmond fixed at no extra cost, but there is always going to be a chance that the price increases if more serious problems are revealed. In such cases, the electrician cannot be blamed, although I can see how the customer might become upset and argue about the additional charge if they weren't expecting it. Under such circumstances, I can also see why an electrician might therefore ask for the money in advance. Maybe the risk of extra work being necessary should be made more clear to the customer at the very start in order to avoid misunderstandings. Personally, I have no complaints and would certainly use Richmond again.
Richmond changed fuse box, and Gas and Water bonding. I found him to be professional and very polite. I will definately use him again. Thank you Richmond!
Very efficient and good at communicating also gives good price.
Interesting …my review keeps being deleted….this was June 2022…hope it helps A very disappointing and unprofessional experience. Richmond was suggested to me by Open Rent to carry out an EICR. He attended the property, undertook the EICR and advised that two new fuse boards were required for it to pass. He quoted £700 for the installation and the cost of the fuse boards ( the EICR had already been paid previously) and we agreed a date and time ( over a week later), when the work would be carried out. I called him the day before to check everything was ok and he confirmed everything was on schedule. To my horror I then received a phone call just after 9pm later that day and the night before to say that he was just checking the costs of the fuse boards and they were a little more expensive than he thought at around £200, so he asked if I would pay an extra £100 …..£800 in total. To be asked for an increase less than 12 hours before the job was due to be carried out ( especially after he priced up the job whilst on site, and I had checked everything was ok earlier that day) is in my opinion unacceptable, especially when he agreed a price over a week before. I told Richmond that I didn’t find this acceptable and he put the phone down on me!!……,naturally I decided to go elsewhere.
Replaced 2 fusebox, there's was a couple things I wasn't happy about which i raised and he rectified the issue quickly, so I was happy with the end result.
Richmond replaced my faulty electrical gadgets, fixed all alarms competently and all done for a very competitive price
Richmond is very professional and polite. He helped me change the fuse box. Great job, very tidy too. I'd recommend his service.
Arrived on time as pre-arranged. Thank you Rich for changing the fuse box, am happy with it. Will use him again in the future.
I have used Blue Rose now for a couple of jobs and they have always proved to be reliable, responsive and reasonably priced. Definitely recommend
I’m a land lady who was looking for a trusted electrician who I can rely on and have a good price for. I had found blue rose via an electrician site with many other electricians advertising however he was very fast in replying and seemed pretty reliable and friendly. The price he quoted for the fuse box change was good so I went ahead with him. Upon the date of changing the fuse box he had to charge me an extra £50 for a wire that needed to be put in for the fuse box to work, I trusted his guidance and said go ahead. He had sent me an invoice 2 hours later expecting it to be paid in full. It was Christmas time so I thought out of good will i shall do this usually invoices can take up to 30 days to be cleared depending on time scales. I than contacted him again to ask can he check the property as there was a problem with the lighting. He arrived explained he had to change it ASAP and than charged me over the odds once he started the work. He than sent me an invoice for triple the amount and expected payment within the next hour. He than harassed me over and over again event contacting the tennate of the property explaining he is coming to the house to take the light down from not being paid in 5 working days. This electrician over charges , is not honest and charges extra when he is doing the job. I had recently got this job quoted eles where and was charge a fraction of the price. I would strongly advice you against using this person who has an extremely unprofessional approach and very aggressive
