Having been without hot water in my kitchen for 2½ years, I thought it time to get the problem fixed before the onset of the Winter snows! Having been let down in the past by several 'professionals', I warily scanned local adverts. The first I saw with a full 5-star rating, was for Paul Stephens of Blacon. Paul quickly arranged to visit me today to give me an estimate/quotation for replacing my under-sink water heater. He duly arrived - with a pannier-laden bicycle full of tools. Impressive! Because I was only expecting a cursory inspection to enable Paul to quote me for the work, I hadn't cleared out the kitchen sink cupboard. Much to my embarrassment, Paul disappeared 'inside' the cupboard and started tinkering with the existing water heater. After what seemed like just minutes (possibly not much more than half-an-hour), Paul emerged to say my heater was fixed and working!! I am still recovering from the shock (not literally!)! Paul Stephens (PS Electrical Service) has been in business for over 20 years and is NICIEC-Approved electrical contractor. Paul did a fantastic job for me, He replaced my very difficult to reach hot water timer. Paul came recommended by one of my neighbours and now I am happy to recommend him myself. (Note that as of Nov 2021 he is based in London again after a short absence.) He showed up on time, and quickly identified my electrical/lighting problem. Although he didn't have enough parts with him, he was able to make a partial repair and returned a few days later with the parts required to finish the job. He also made some unsolicited but helpful comments about my lighting generally and lent me some lamps and gels to test out some potential changes. Reasonably priced.

Paul was able to come and see what was wrong straight away after one of our kitchen sockets started smoking. He was methodical in finding out what the problem was and tracing its source, which he fixed straight away. A fantastic service and really helpful on how to update our current set up

We have regularly hired Paul for over five years as our brewery has grown from a garden shed to a mid-sized production business. Paul has always been available to help us design, purchase, install, commission and certify our electrical services. He's done everything from a few plug sockets we needed in a rush to fully designing, cabling and testing a three-phase distribution system for our new production facility. Experienced, professional and courteous, Paul is a pleasure to work with, dependable, reliable and helpful.

My old washing machine was connected through a fused spur which was malfunctioning. I wanted to swap it for a plug socket to make it easier to put a new machine in. Paul managed to do the swap and the plumbing for the new machine in half an hour! He also sourced the parts cheaper than I could find them online and came in on his bike so didn't charge for parking! He was professional and friendly throughout; would recommend and would work with again.
