Had excellent and professional service from Simon as the engineer on-site, and Nick over WhatsApp for organisation. Everything was scheduled and done promptly, neatly, as specified, and within my expected budget. Across 3 full days of work, Simon completed an EICR for our house, upgraded the consumer unit, added an extra circuit for an EV charger, identified and fixed multiple wiring issues, set up a new light fixture, and installed a Eufy video doorbell I had bought online. I would happily recommend the team, and use their services again in the future!

Complete Electrical Solutions are our go-to electricians. They have done excellent work in our home over the years, from ceiling light installations, cooker hood mounting (including ducting work), and emergency work when our gasboiler busted in the midst of winter and we needed an immersion element working that the original installer (not these guys) "forgot" to hook up. Reasonable prices and never any overcharging (unlike some other 5 starred competitors).Can't fault this bunch of friendly gentlemen, 100% recommend using their services.

Extremely hardworking and knowledgeable about everything electrical. Harry and Miles were friendly and helpful whilst working at my property doing a full rewire, heating installation and installing an extractor fan and left everything tidy. I would recommend this company 100%.

The reason we’re always present at EICR inspections is so that we can know of any pending issues, understand them and ask any questions if necessary. Several times we asked if everything was okay with the inspection, and each time the answer was ‘yes, fine’. Within a few minutes of the electrician completing the inspection, we asked if we needed to wait for the certificate. The electrician told us that it would be sent on, but the next day we received a quote for a thousand pounds of remedial work, which came as quite a shock! But what made things worse was having our own honesty called into question when we were told that the engineer denied telling us that everything was okay with the inspection. To top it off, when we emailed to say we weren't happy and would be leaving a review, we eventually got an email saying that they could see they'd “messed up” and wanted to put things right. We messaged back asking what they had in mind, but never heard a thing from them after that!!! Poor communication, bad attitude when things go wrong, and poor service. We feel extremely disappointed by the service we have received. UPDATE FOLLOWING THE COMPANY’S REPLY: You have spent a long time organising a reply (below) which contains several inaccuracies. For example, we have not been a client for “several years” as suggested (we have used you just once previously), and we do not accept that any apology was forthcoming as claimed in your penultimate paragraph - far from it - it was at this point that our honesty was called into question. And if an apology had been offered at the time of our call, it’s unlikely we would have needed to take our complaint further. In any case, NONE of your reply answers why you told us (by email) that you wanted to resolve things but when we asked how, we never heard from you thereafter. It’s a pity that more time goes into answering reviews like this, than into resolving issues at the time!

Complete Electrical has done numerous jobs for us, ranging from complex to minor, but ‘minor’ in an old house with weird legacy electrics is relative and might involve lifting slabs and intricate channeling. They always see a solution when at first it looks impossible, and every electrician has been a pleasure to have around. This is you want from a craftsman. Highly recommended.

The man on the phone has got to be the rudest tradesmen I have ever encountered. I required a small amount of work doing in my house and was told they would have someone out the next morning. The next morning arrives and no one to be seen. I call the office and am told I will have someone by 3oclock. No problem. (Multiple ignored or unread messages throughout this communication) Next communication I receive is an invoice for £350 to be paid in full before someone will even attend the fault. (This is not a call out charge, this includes labour, parts etc.) I stated I am happy to pay a deposit but would not be paying the full amount when I have yet to even meet with an electrician. I was then told very rudely that "the job has now been cancelled, goodbye". I honestly felt like I was talking to a teenage girl. No problem anyway, luckily there are plenty of other electrician available and the problem has now been rectified. Go elsewhere, these people are extremely rude. Not worth the time. Also, the next company i went for carried out the job £80 cheaper!! AVOID

Excellent and highly professional service. Replaced consumer unit and installed new supplies for a heat pump, immersion heater, towel rail and induction hob. Harry was a very competent electrician and good at finding solutions. He was always punctual and considered no task to be too small. Communication from Nick and Marcus was good throughout, especially when repeated visits were required to complete the work but they still stuck to their original quote. Their pricing was also very competitive with other quotes I recieved, even from one man bands. Highly recommend!

This one star review is to get attention to a long-standing issue of poor responsivity in communication. I started using CES in 2022, and they have done quite a lot of work in my flat over many occasions. The actual work is fine, and by and large have no complaints about the people doing the work on the ground - they are aware of my views of the administrative side of CES. Basically, there is a culture of poor communication in the office. This was clear after some interaction with Nick, the owner, and I was told the business is very busy and he has had some stresses. That is fine - up to a point. Nick runs two sides to his electric business - one is domestic (and perhaps commercial) and the other does solar installations including infrastructure at a large scale. An office manager, Marcus, was employed to take pressure off Nick, and then a further office receptionist was employed. Neither stage improved things. Indeed, it was uncanny how difficult it was to get things sorted - emails not read, phone calls not returned. Obviously this is very frustrating, but I persevered because they had done the work successfully, eventually each time, and I was wary of switching (better the devil you know, etc). After last slew of efforts in 2024, I thought it best to leave them, but in September this year, decided to give them a last go. This was very much an experiment with a degree of trepidation about wasting time. Spoke to Marcus on 9th September, with a small add-on a few days later. All I needed was a quote. There has been NOTHING. A month and a bit is a reasonable amount of time in which to come to the conclusion that my request has disappeared into a black hole. Who knows what is going on at their end? But I have to call it quits with CES, and that is entirely on Nick and the office, and nothing to do with the people they employ to do the actual work in homes, who I’d happily deal with directly as electricians.

This is a great company. First, communication was very effective. We contacted Ellie via WhatsApp and it was very easy to explain the situation with texts, pictures and videos. Ellie has been amazing and provided us two different quotations. On the day, Harry and Leo showed up as planned. They were tasked to fix the work of a previous company. Harry and Leo are real professionals: friendly, precise, quick and clean. They performed a survey, came up with a clear plan, and in a few hours completed the work. CES Cambridge were subcontracted by my solar supplier, Let's Go Solar, to complete the installation of my Inverter and storage solution. I could not be happier with the service they provided. Harry and Leo were very professional, friendly and did a fantastic job installing the system and making very little mess. They helped me understand the system and answered my questions about the installation. They have been very responsive post installation as my meter had dropped connection and were willing to come out to look at this to try and resolve the issue, fortunately it resolved itself so wasn't necessary but i was very happy with the communication and prompt response to help resolve this. If i ever have any future electrical jobs i will certainly consider using CES as they have really impressed me with the work completed.

I first chose Complete Electrical Solutions (Cambridge) because of the positive reviews it received. The reviewers were right - the service I got from CES was simply AMAZING! The quote was utterly reasonable in the present financial climate (no extra hidden charges). The Rointe products (electric heaters) they recommended had been tried and tested. The installation itself was impeccable. Equally important, Nick of CES was able to accommodate a couple of small electrical tasks I made in addition to the 'main job'; he was incredibly patient as well as efficient. The electricians appeared on the date agreed and tidied up the premises before they left. It was a big task to replace all storage heaters and do other electrical jobs, but everything went smoothly, including the delivery and taking away of a skip! The affected walls were 'made good' due to Nick's timely liaising with a decorating company. All in all, the service I received was 'complete' and entirely flawless. I cannot recommend CES more highly; such company deserves all our support.

Nick was very responsible, efficient and patient. My boiler caused all the sockets to go down on Saturday morning, and I found him after making 6-7 phone calls to the others. We had relocated from a city without using boilers, and Nick was very patient to elaborate what was going on with the system, and referred another very responsive heating engineer to fix the rest after his electrical parts was done. We are so lucky to have found him.

CES were the only electricians I could find quickly when I woke up to a tripped RCD on Saturday morning over the Easter weekend. Nick, who I spoke to over the phone, was very helpful in providing a few diagnostic tips that helped me figure out the source and fix it quickly. It turns out it wasn’t an appliance or anything in the house wiring causing the problem, but rather a heavy duty UK to EU plug adapter. It’s the typical item one forgets about or discounts, but Nick’s reminder to go methodically and physically unplug everything led to finding the culprit within 10 minutes. 5 stars for being prompt and interested in helping the customer, not just in making a sale.

In the throws of DIY we drilled through an electrical cable cutting power to all electrical sockets in the house. Within an hour of making a phone call we had an amazing electrician on-site. Everything explained and fixed with minimal upheaval and mess. The thought of spending the weekend with no heating and power was terrible but within an hour everything was fixed and back up and running. Could not recommend these guys enough!

Nick was extremely helpful and was contactable on the afternoon of New Year’s Day. First he talked me through the issue how to diagnose the issue over the phone, and suggested I send him a picture of our fuse board so he could navigate the problem with me effectively. He was really helpful and efficient, nothing was too much trouble or ruffled him). When he diagnosed that the smoke alarms were on the same problematic circuit, he offered to finish his tea and come over straight away to fix the issue. I was really impressed by this level of service and care, on New Year’s Day. When he came, he was friendly and professional, figured out the problem and changed the fuse in two minutes flat. Used complete electrics following for a rewiring job following a recommendation. Everything was explained clearly and in advance so no surprises - so important given the size of the task. Very happy overall, glad I chose them and will be using them going forward.

I have had various electrical work carried out. Loose sockets, loft strip lighting plus additional sockets with USB ports. The work is to a high standard and the staff very polite and efficient. Highly recommend using Complete Electrical Solutions and will definitely use them in the future. The loft light is amazing, can see everything in the loft now.

Company responded quickly after call, sending electrician 8am next morning, who came on time. Electrician listened to my recent troubles with sockets and checked all places which I pointed out. Issue was in wall sockets fuse which got wet due coffee spilling over it. Replacement part was ordered, arrived, and fitted in 30min.

Our fuse box tripped late at night. Rang CES early next day and much to our relief Luke arrives before 10 am. He carefully and diligently went through the whole ring main system to locate the fault. This is a rather late review but CES found a fairly pesky fault in the house wiring (Dec 2017) in a very quick and efficient manner. They had good clear pricing on the hourly rates for fault finding work. After this they also replaced our consumer unit (Feb 2018) and everything's been great so far.

Nick was great, I'm really happy with everything! He replaced a wire that had been drilled through and then found some loose connections in the fuse box and a socket (which was unexpected).

An unexpected electrical shortage left us without electricity on our ground floor. We rang Complete Electrical Solutions at 9am and by 9.50am one of their electricians, Jay, was with us. Within 90 minutes he had sorted out the problem. We have now asked them to carry out a full 'Electrical Healthcheck' on our house. Very impressed and strongly recommend them. AFTER THE ABOVE REVIEW Last Wednesday we had booked Jay to carry out a complete Electrical Healthcheck on our house. He arrived slightly early, was extremely thorough, found and sorted at least 3 problem sockets and left us feeling that we were now living in a very safe house from an electrical standpoint. He is also a very nice chap! Again very impressed and strongly recommend this company.

I spoke with Brett when getting a quote and he was very prompt with all his replies. On the day, the electrician was about an hour later than our agreed time, but when I contacted to enquire, Brett was quick to respond and give me an update. I understand Cambridge traffic can be awful and you can't always be exact with timing, so that's fine. I needed a new plug socket added to a wall and Luke did a fabulous job installing the socket and cleaning up when he was finished. He actually cleaned up well beyond my expectations. Complete Electrical have done work for us twice recently: once to investigate our non-working electric shower which, embarrassingly, turned out to be a tripped switch which we'd somehow failed to see when we peered into the cupboard under the stairs, and again to fix a number of minor unsatisfactory features of our electrical installation which they'd identified during some earlier testing I'd asked them to do. They were brilliant with our daft shower problem, turning up the same morning, not laughing at me for calling them for a non-issue and showing me what had caused it to trip in the first place. They were great again with the minor repairs, communicating well about the timing, turning up as arranged and leaving everything neat and tidy afterwards. I was very happy to leave them working while I went out to work. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.

Nick and his company have done a few jobs for us now. From wiring a garden office to our two storey extension. Not only are they reliable, their work is really excellent quality.
