I contacted a couple of electricians for a quote to replace an ancient fuse box in a house I was just buying. MB Electrical was a fraction more expensive, but was the only one to understand without explanation that I hadn't yet moved in and therefore couldn't send a picture yet as I hadn't thought to photograph the fusebox on viewing. Plus he had other excellent reviews. Anyway, very glad I went with Michael as due to some unusual wiring choices there were significant complications potentially leaving us without power to a lot of vital things. Not only was Michael willing to consider any solution to make sure we had it set up safely enough not to catch fire etc, he stuck with the original quote despite all the extra work involved which probably saved me a few hundred pounds. Before he found a solution he was willing to come back before working hours the next day to make sure we had access to essentials as soon as possible. He was also happy to answer any of my inane questions throughout the process. You can tell he is honest and genuinely cares about the customer and the job, which is the best anyone can ask for and why I highly recommend going with him.
Michael came swiftly to fix my lights / switches even though only a small job. He checked the work to be done and confirmed it was just the dimmer switches to be changed which kept the cost lower. He was very friendly and did a great job. I would highly recommend Michael and he will definitely be my 'go to' electrician.

Michael really helped us out today, was happy to help try to diagnose our issue over the phone to avoid a callout, but still came to us within the hour. Was refreshingly upfront about pricing and generally a really friendly guy. He explained everything in detail and made sure we were happy and comfortable with everything going on. He diagnosed our issue and and fixed as much as possible on the day, leaving us with practical advice on remedial works with no pressure. Responsive, really friendly, would highly recommended and wouldn't hesitate to call on him again.

To be honest, Michael restored my faith in the trades. He pretty much re-wired my victorian terrace and his work has been excellent from start to finish. After I managed to break our bathroom fan I contacted MB Electrical and spoke to Michael. As promised, he fitted us in at short notice and came equipped with the necessary unit plus a double socket that we wanted to have replaced - he is super organised and worked from photos that I sent rather than wasting time (and money!) coming to assess what was required. I can't praise Michael highly enough; he is friendly, professional, tidy, punctual, and generally very helpful all round! I'll be keeping his number on speed dial for any future electrical jobs and can definitely recommend him to anyone who needs the services of a consummate professional electrician.

Having used various trades over the years, Michael stands out for his calm and comprehensive professionalism. We had a faulty socket which could have been serious. Michael was able to come out promptly, identify and fix the issue with minimum fuss, then comprehensively check and test our circuit for additional peace of mind. As seems to be the case with a number of tradespeople these days, Michael had very poor communication after the initial consultation. What was odd with MB was after ignoring my first request for a date they phoned on the morning of that date apologising for their emails not sending. Fine I thought, thanks for phoning and we'll book you in once we've spoken to the gas people. Sent a text message later that day to confirm a date (naively believing the email issue was real) ... Radio silence. Perhaps MB have a problem with their phone network too. If you don't want to do a job just say, don't just ghost customers.
We had given Michael the horrible task of rewiring a historical mess in the entrance of our Victorian terrace. Michael was very professional, completed the work in good time, and was clean and tidy. He is really approachable and friendly - no task was too small! Will definitely use again!

RCD tripped and no lights, just as preparing for a job interview, very stressful! Michael was brilliant. On the phone he talked me through checking the board while listening to my questions and answering clearly, really helpful (& surprisingly rare). Giving an exact time of arrival was impossible given it was an emergency call out, but he kept me updated and got here asap. Michael clearly explained the process of checking for the problem, then got on and sorted it quickly and efficiently. Michael responded very quickly to an emergency call out to fix my electric boiler. Despite this being slightly outside of his remit, he responded and arrived very quickly and successfully fixed the issue. His general knowledge of other trades is also really high so he was willing to give other things a go afterwards. He was the fourth tradesman that attempted the repair as I had previously used two electricians and a plumber/heating engineer from bigger companies and he was the only one who successfully fixed the issue. Highly recommended.

I had an electrical emergency one evening, called Michael in the morning and he was round the same day. I'd spoken to other electricians, 2 were too busy to come for a week, another came to quote for the job but couldn't complete for 5 days. Michael's rate excellent, and he rearranged some work to get me switched back on within 24hrs. He is very experienced with older properties and doesn't try to push work that's not needed. Very professional and leaves the site clean and tidy. I will be recomending him to friends and family.

I cannot recommend MB Electricians highly enough, we had a switch that kept tripping the oven and Michael came round after work the next day to have a look. He was polite, knowleagable and made sure everything was spotless after he finished. He even made sure the replacement switch matched the one next to it. He was clear in his communication of times and was so friendly and easy to have in the house. The price was more than fair, definitely saving these contact details for future use!
