Lancer Scott Ltd has drawn repeated criticism from reviewers over the driving of its branded vans, with several reporting aggressive or reckless behaviour on the road. One reviewer described a worker being rude to a student in university accommodation, and others reported disappointing workmanship, a lack of cleanup and unfinished jobs. One reviewer said an appliance was failed when nothing was wrong, and another reported repeated cancelled appointments with poor communication. A few reviewers praised named workers for flooring and carpet work in hotels, describing professionalism, consideration and a high standard of finish.
Looking at other reviews on going problem with their drivers. All over the road and cut up at a roundabout then began swearing at me from the van in Christchurch area, wasn’t able to get the registration as trying to avoid an accident but van was plastered with company logo. If their driving and mannerism is anything to go by I would highly avoid.
Haven’t dealt with them but spotted their van on the A40 number plate BGX driving aggressively hogging in a offside lane, absolutely no manners
Had the joys of experiencing the driving style of one of their drivers on the road to Abergavenny. I think the reg was YS23 GVC. It was definitely a Lancer Scott van. Constantly tailgating, doing 80 in a 50, weaving in and out of traffic. By the looks of some of the other reviews, Lancer Scott don't do anything about it. Do better. I'll never understand why people driving company branded vehicles drive like that.
This company works for the UWE and are significantly rude to the students in accommodations. The worker treated one of the students like a toddler when mansplaining water drainage and was ignorant to the problem reported and solutions ahead.
Remember with your vans have full logos, so this morning, Sunday I was crossing station road in Wickwar at 9am. When one of your vans came tearing pass, please respect the speed limits.
Disappointing workmanship, lack of attention to detail, and no cleanup afterwards. It's unfortunate when professionals don't take pride in their work. Hopefully they'll learn from feedback.
Absolutely diabolical company. Failed my appliance when there wasn't nothing wrong with it. Money making scam company. DO NOT TRUST!!
Just being messed around at this point they cancelled twice now then again today giving us excuse after excuse on why there people can’t turn up one time they didn’t even call us to let us know I’m starting to give up and thinking of telling the housing association to cancel the whole thing if your staff can’t get here then don’t bother planning the job
Lancer Scott advertises themselves as “considerate contractors,” but after a year and a half of them working on the building I live in, I can honestly say that hasn’t been my experience at all. They rarely seem to work full days, which has just dragged the whole process out unnecessarily. There’s been constant disruption, and at no point have they shown any real consideration for the people who actually live here. Any time I’ve tried to raise concerns, it’s gone nowhere. Emails are ignored, and there’s no real effort to address anything directly. It's incredibly frustrating, especially when they market themselves so differently. If you’re thinking of hiring Lancer Scott, I’d be really cautious—especially if you’re expecting professionalism or decent communication.
FD72 XFK Lancer Scott van driver was driving completely unacceptably. The van driver was driving in excess of 80mph down the A38 Parkway at approximately 13:10pm. The van driver was swerving in and out of lanes and nearly crashed into me and the car in front. Then sped off closer to 90mph. Finally the driver turned into the street by Butlas Farm in Plymstock and did not use a turn signal, emergancy stopping and nearly causing a crash directly in front of us. Please teach your drivers how to drive appropriately and I will consider removing my review.
Many thanks to the lads- Dan, Bradley and Harry for doing an amazing job.
Dan. Bradley and Harry. Worked on replacing flooring in 5 bedrooms at my hotel. These guys were absolutely brilliant. Result was perfect but that’s expected. What wasn’t expected, the high levels of professionalism, consideration and communication. Made the difference and helped us keep disruption to minimum. Great attitudes and personalities.
I would recommend Lancer Scott to any company we had Harry Sing rip out and replace our hotel restaurant floor after we had a chemical leak and he was absolutely amazing. He explained what we was going to do and made it safe for us to work around him. Would have you back again . All the best . Lucas
Harry, Dan, and Bradley came to install a new carpet at our restaurant, the lads were very efficient with helping move furniture and the final product was outstanding, Can’t recommend these guys enough.
Spent 4 years on a 1 year job (so far) never show up. When they do eventually show up, they use cheap materials and leave it all a state. Here’s my brand new rusty balcony, unfinished paint and paint drips all down my windows. Avoid at all costs. Lazy, useless cowboys should be ashamed.
Although took time to complete the works after 3 months which I understand they gave have been undated with work loads. Thank you for the workmen that have completed the works, to the man sorting the team out.great workers. M.Vaughan
Waiting since April for a new kitchen Started it September Haven't finished it, poor service. They have also left materials in my home for months. When I call no one answers! It's disgusting how they've treated me.
No work completed still waiting for months now
Had two lovely workers complete some work in the kitchen today. No messing around, straight to it professional and finished to a very high standard. Nice to see a genuinely skilled tradesmen in this company Phil and his apprentice Tommy.
Recklessly driving on the a12! First he was tailgating us and have to say, he was too close for a long time, then he overtook us on a 2 way traffic street. And no we were not driving slow! What a muppet!
Shocking organisation, would not trust them to hang a portrait, and somehow they are now contractors for the Co-Op. Good grief!
I myself work in the building and maintenance industry and this company should not be operating. Their work is cowboy and their customer service is also the same, this has been on going for 3 months now with no result. After calling and complaining They came back to only do two panels and leave again. I will be taking this to legal. Clients and individuals stay away from this company.
I am a private hire driver who is permitted to use the bus lane in Exeter. This morning at 8:15, I was traveling from the A30 towards Twon Central when I utilized the bus lane to bypass the traffic. Unfortunately, one of your drivers was at the front of the queue, which required me to proceed forward. At that point, I noticed this individual driving recklessly, attempting to collide with my vehicle from behind. I remained composed, and he proceeded to pull over in a no-drive-through road, where he began shouting, using profanity, including the "F" word. I politely requested that he mind his language, but he persisted in swearing. Subsequently, he cut in front of other vehicles with highly aggressive driving. It is apparent to me that if your company employs drivers of such low standards, it reflects poorly on your organization. I apologize for the necessity of raising this issue, but it is imperative that you address the behavior of your employees. Such conduct is detrimental to your company's reputation, even if I may have been in error in my driving.
Horrific experience today by their driver. He was abusive and intimidating, trying to push in whilst I followed my dad in his car. He then pushed his way in and slammed his breaks on to an emergency stop and tried to cause an accident. All the time screaming and shouting and gesturing out the window. I thought at one point he was going to get out and attack me he was so raged. I can only imagine how he goes round treating customers, I would avoid this company at all cost. You wouldnt want to get on the wrong side of them thats for sure.
I have fallen victim to this horrible company, I was working as a sub contractor for this company and they allowed me to use machines I was not competent to use!!! Wile working on the same site they did not inform me there was an active antenna on site and allowed me to work around it , in turn I fell I’ll and had to go to hospital with radio frequency poisoning, I am still on going treatment for this, the after care and level of concern for my health is non existent and I will be seeking legal advice!!!! Stay clear of this company
Heard quite a bit about this place and it is repulsive
Construction company
The workman’s attitude was appalling. He had no manners was rude and slammed the door on the way out. But as he wore your uniform he represented your company.
Brilliant company
Am confused by the strongly positive reviews on here for Lancer Scott. All in all, disappointing workmanship and standards. If you can, avoid them.
Fantastic company, able to build you a wall or Hotel, their capabilities are endless!
Low quality work and poor service. We liaised with Sean Heal from Lancer Scott to try and address problems in their work. He was unresponsive and didn’t seem to take us seriously.
They get 1 star only because I can't give them zero. This company are the epitome of cowboy builders. They were engaged by NHBC to complete remedial work on our house and then subsequently fired due to a failure to meet ANY deadline. Very good at talking the talk and making promises they have no intention of keeping, absolutely useless at actually delivering any kind of service. Avoid at all costs.
Absolute shambles.... Avoid at all costs..... Cowboys... Worst of the worst
Driver needs to re test. Cut me up then overtook into oncoming traffic. Lorry oncoming so he had to cut back in.
Your van driver DYB needs to go on a speed awareness course
Very poor service
