Very professional, straight, patient and friendly. Delivery of door and window on time. Fitter very polite and left everything perfect.

We recently had some windows and a sliding door installed. Positives: Competitive prices, good installation team and product was good. Negatives: I was only informed that I was required to pay up front for everything (including installation) when the surveyor visited. By this time we had already paid a deposit, and had no recourse. We were also told that we had to pay by credit card to get any form of consumer protection for anything that may go wrong.

New back door fitted in May 2026 to replace the old wooden one in our Victorian terrace. We spoke to a couple of companies, exploring the possibility of a wooden door but rejected that because we didn’t have an overhang and it would have needed repainting every few years. Excellent advice from Louise, who single handedly seems to run the place at Academy in Caversham and is so cheerful - not an ounce of hard sales pressure, just down to earth good common sense. Deposit paid then a site visit for measurement, followed by the full balance and a date about 6 weeks later for fitting. Leigh arrived promptly, was thoroughly professional, making short work of taking out the old door. Quite a shock seeing that gaping hole and exposed brickwork! New door fitted and everything tidied away, no mess left anywhere. We were expecting the kitchen paintwork and frame to need remedial work afterwards, but were delighted how seamless it looked. Leigh explained the security and how to best maintain the mechanisms and was done in about 4 hours. Couldn’t have wished for more or better service from beginning to end. Highly recommend Academy.

Really pleased with our new windows. The installation was done to a high standard and everything fitted perfectly, no mess left behind, and the finish looks great. Would have no hesitation recommending them.

We are replacing all our windows and doors in three phases. Phase 1 and 2 are complete and we couldn't be happier with our experience from start to now. Helpful suggestions, adherence to timings, prompt and courteous installations, they have not put a foot wrong. A small problem was dealt with speedily and satisfactorily and we look forward to placing the order to complete the project. Although the work was delayed by a combination of Christmas and a spell of unprecented persistent rain, the replacement of two doors and a window was completed quickly and efficiently. Steve and Carl did an excellent job fitting my new windows and garage doors. They were friendly, very respectful of my property, and the quality of their work was to a very high standard. The installation was to a high quality standard. Jack discussed the process, completed the install in good time, checked through with us and cleared away to an excellent standard. Our only disappointment was that almost 2 months after the installation we have had no contact from Academy Windows to check in if we were happy. The after-care customer service was non-existent. We are also assuming the warranty is on the invoice document.

I'm very pleased with my beautiful new, replacement conservatory. The whole process was smooth and uncomplicated despite a necessary redesign. Five star service from Academy. We used Academy previously to replace the guttering to the rear of our property and it still looks good several years-on. So we called them back recently to provide a much-needed facelift to the front of our property with new facias and guttering to replace the wooden fascia which were starting to show signs of being well past their sell-by date! Sam Smith organized everything and the work was completed quickly and professionally - thank you Academy! Will definitely use again for any maintenance and improvement projects.

Love the new door and windows from Academy Windows. Really improve the look of the house. Home is warmer with the lovely new windows, no rattling really great. Carl and Steve could not have done a better job removing the old ones and installing the new ones. Everything went as smoothly as possible. Very happy with our windows. Job done quickly and efficiently. Workmen all lovely to have around. One window had the wrong glass in it. Replaced without question. Now going to get them to sort my conservatory.

We chose Academy to make and fit two powder coated aluminium windows. They were fitted well but unfortunately had incorrect leaded glass panels. Sam didn’t hesitate to agree for the correct glass to be replaced and this was done 2 weeks later. We are pleased with the final results.Thankyou.

We wanted our front door and leaded windows replaced and were keen to find a local company with a good track record. We settled on Academy Windows and we are very happy with the work they did. Everything went to plan, from the start of the process right the way through to the final installation. We have recently had a new front door supplied and fitted by Academy Windows. The whole process was very easy from start to finish and we are very pleased with the end result. We had windows fitted by Academy several years ago and that is why we choose them for the door. The fitters were excellent, did a great job and left the area clean and tidy. So all in all I would choose Academy for any future work.

We now have a lovely porch which we wanted and the company took great care to ensure that we were happy with the design and finished result. The office staff, surveyor and installers were amazing.

We recently ordered a new composite front door with side windows, two large front windows (living room and bedroom, and two small windows (landing and bathroom). Sam was very helpful from start to finish, guiding us through the options, and ensuring we understood the process. From order to installation was about 8 weeks, during which Gary came round to do the exact measuring (very comforting). The installation took 2 days, and Scott and Dan did a lovely job, and were a pleasure to have in our home. They worked well together, were professional and polite, and left us with beautiful doors and windows, and left everywhere they worked clean and tidy. There was one small issue identified after the install, but Academy were right on it, happy to ensure everything was resolved, and after a second visit, we have everything we wanted. We have future plans for other doors and windows, and will certainly be back to Academy

I am very pleased with my new windows, I was informed as things progressed with the order and Installation was fast and cleaned. Both the fitters were polite and kept me informed as they went. Great job.

Beware the small print We have just had a new triple-glazed tilt & turn bedroom window installed by Academy. It’s a very good quality window (which it should be for the price) but for a couple of really annoying problems; a) it won’t tilt fully because it comes up against the internal shutters, b) the shutters on one side can’t be fully opened because the window is too deep. In other words, the surveyor didn’t take into account the depth of the window relative to the shutters when he measured. When we first complained they sent someone round who made it clear that the surveyor had messed up, but since then just one email telling us that “Item 4 in the contract” should have been mentioned to us. Item 4 states that if anything is in the way of the window (eg, shutters, curtains) it has to be moved at the customer’s expense. Clearly, Item 4 represents a key part of any purchase decision-making, and under current law should have been highlighted from the start. Academy have now gone completely dark, saying that the issue will be addressed when the MD gets back from holiday (4 weeks ago so far). We’ve used Academy for years; every inch of glazing on our house, including a large conservatory, is from Academy. We’ve recommended them to friends who have given them work as a result. In the next few years we will need to replace all the double glazing in our house. We’ll think twice about using Academy unless this review sparks them into remedial action. UPDATE: Following further communications, we have reached an acceptable solution with Academy Windows. We've therefore added a star to our review and will put them back in the mix whenever we need future work.

Have used Academy twice now and recommend them for excellent service. Kept in the loop from the start of the process and selection of the door, the visit for measurements and finally the fitting where Darren and Julian did an excellent job including dealing with the unexpected issue of the internet cable.

Please be very careful with this company. Please note this review is not with regards to installation of windows or doors. It is my experience of visiting their showroom in Maidenhead and how they have treated me unfairly and in my view dishonestly. I took a friend to the showroom. I didn’t need to go into the showroom however my friend wanted my opinion so we checked with the employee who very clearly told us that we could park there with no risk of a fine. She then even offered for us to stay longer if we needed to do any shopping. I thought what a helpful and kind woman she was. I then received a fine and called the showroom on a Saturday and there was no answer so I felt I had to pay the fine to stop it increasing. I was then called back on Sunday and was told it would be looked into. I was texted back to say academy windows couldn’t do anything. My emails and calls were ignored for three months. So I called the Reading showroom. The person there promised to call me back saying that Maidenhead had not followed the correct procedure. They didn’t call me back and it has taken weeks of calls and emails to finally get a response. The MD has now emailed me saying that basically it was my fault I paid the fine and they will no longer correspond with me. My point is simply that they have lied to me, not kept to their promises of contacting me and ignored me. I wouldn’t trust them at all. If they cannot resolve a simple issue of £60 I would be worried about any larger issues. It’s such a shame to have been treated like this by what I thought was a reputable company. 😞

I last used Academy about 12 years ago and when I needed a new window and a door I shopped around and Academy came up with the best price by far. Ordering was very easy and staff in the office were very helpful. On installation day Mark arrived on time. He was on his own and my husband offered a helping hand when needed. Excellent job by everyone at Academy Windows involved in replacing our ancient, wooden and rotting back door. From choosing the design, the survey and estimate and through to the installation everything went very smoothly. Jack did a great job of the installation and took us through the workings of the door (this is the first uPVC door we have had so we did need instructions!). Old door was taken away and Jack cleared up and hoovered the area after he had finished. Very pleased with the door and the service. Highly recommend Academy Windows.

Fitter arrived just before 08:00hrs and the job was complete by lunchtime. Fitter was cheerful and even with 2 cups of coffee there was no breaks and he just got on with the job. We had our front door recently installed and the whole experience was fantastic. Good variety of choices, flexible and resourceful with the designs preferences and differences, good craftsmanship and good customer service. Issues and queries being deal with in good time. Academy Windows was recommended by our neighbour when we decided to build our conservatory 10 years ago, it still works like new, so we have to go back to them for our front door. We also recommended them to our friends too.

We'd highly recomend Acadamy Windows to anyone looking for Conservatories or Windows. Price was competative and staff were not pushy and allowed us to browse in the showroom without hassle. Questions were answered clearly and confidentally. Suggestions were made to help us make the right decision on the style we wanted. Order placed and communications were clear as to when the surveyor would be round to confirm measurements etc. Delivery was quicker than first advised and it was a bit of a shock to be told on a Tuesday that the fitting would take place on the Thursday of that week! Fitters were late on the due day as they had to carry out a remedial job first! Steve and Carl were accomadating as we wanted the downstairs done first as we needed the kitchen on Friday for a dinner party. They were also very tidy when completing the work and ensured that we were happy with everything before they left. Very nice firm to deal with. Thank you.

The quality of service from Academy Windows was excellent. I was able to get booked in for a quote quickly and the fitting conducted soon after. I was given frequent updates on the status of my order. The window fitting was conducted swiftly and my property was left very clean when complete. There have been some minor issues with the glass (not Academy Window's fault) and this has been resolved quickly with a replacement provided. I have additional windows to replace at my property and following my positive experience with Academy Windows will be returning to them for these.

The guys did a great job on a not so standard installation, turned up on time with everything they needed, worked hard, made good beyond expectation and cleaned up, all with a smile on their faces. We had a total of six leaded windows, including a bay window, a back door and two sets of French doors installed by Academy windows. The entire process, from Sam’s very competitive quote, Gary’s surveying, to include much effort and skill getting the lead strips perfect and Steve and Carl’s installation was a very satisfying experience. Steve and Carl did a first class job, turned up early every day and worked straight through. We are delighted with and amazed at the standard of work and ultimate finish. Everyone, including Louise in the office has been more than helpful, polite and generally a pleasure to work with. World Class Service!!! Sam was incredibly knowledgeable as he helped us narrow down our choices and very patient with our questions and indecisiveness. It was also really refreshing to buy double glazing from a company that did not use any hard sell tactics or painful salesman one liners. My conservatory roof started to leak after about 24 years of use. I was recommended to Academy Windows who gave me a fair quote for a new roof. This was accepted in October 2021 and work began on 4 January this year and was completed within 3 days. The workmen were efficient, courteous and helpful throughout, as all my dealings with Academy have been. I am really pleased with the new roof and my conservatory is as good as new. I can really recommend Academy Windows & Conservatories for their good customer relationship and excellent workmanship.

We are unable to contact your aftermarket team to repair a failed glass pane in windows instead by Academy couple of years ago. We can only get through the sales team but no response to my email and message from the website sent couple of weeks ago. Does this mean that you care about your customers only until they place orders? Your products are of good quality but this is very disappointing

We had a really good quality door fitted and over time, we had a couple of faults and the door manufacturer themselves were awful. However, Academy, especially Louise, were fantastic in working with us and the door manufacturer to put things right. I certainly recommend Academy.

Great friendly service. The team measured up and came back to re-check. The fitters were very good, even hoovering up all the tiny insulation balls that fell out. Academy replaced a door fitted, (very poorly) by Abbey Windows and also installed new bi-folding doors. Highly recommend.

Academy windows replaced all our roofline produces (Soffits Fascia and Bargeboards) and the cladding on our dormer window in uPVC, They also replaced all our guttering on the house and the conservatory. The job was done well and on time. The operatives were pleasant and thoughtful. The site was cleared up afterwards. they dealt intelligently with issues raised by a past supplier having gone bust, This is the second time we have dealt with this firm and as expected all went well.

We had our windows replaced 15 years ago.No problems with the windows a good job done. We had a window taken out in out dining room and replaced with a door to the garden. Seeing problems with the brickwork above the door and cracks inside and out. The door is becoming increasing more difficult to close and the window above won't even close.After consulting with a builder we now are having to have a lintel support fitted at our expense.
