I searched for months and had quotes from more than 10 companies across reading. Abbey windows were the most competitive and did an outstanding job when it came to fitting the windows and doors. They were quick to book me in, and happy for me to leave them a key so they were able to do the fitting while I wasn't there. They identified a fault with the glass supplied and we're able to replace it ASAP, and also dealt with a few aftercare points quickly and painlessly. Would recommend to anyone.

We recently used Abbey Windows and Doors for our new front door and installation, and the overall experience was brilliant. A massive shout-out has to go to Rob, who handled the installation. He was absolutely fantastic—professional, tidy, and did an incredibly thorough job. You can tell he really takes pride in his work, and he made the whole fitting process completely stress-free for us. The customer service from Abbey Windows as a whole was top-notch. From start to finish, the entire process was very easy, straightforward, and well-communicated. Price-wise, I’d say they are reasonable; they might not be the absolute cheapest option on the market, but the quality of the service and the fact that you get a solid 10-year warranty makes it well worth it for the peace of mind. Hopefully, everything holds up perfectly over the next decade, but it’s reassuring to know that guarantee is there. Very impressed with Abbey Windows, who were knowledgeable and professional from the initial quote to the work being completed. We found their quote to be competitive and, although we took a few months to give them a final decision, they weren't pushy. The work itself was carried out by Peter who did a great job of installing our patio doors and was always cheerful and friendly. Everything was left tidy after running through final FYIs and Abbey Windows also gave us a call after a few days to confirm we were happy with the work that had been carried out. Rob did an excellent job installing two front windows and repairing a failed mechanism on a 3rd window. He was professional, fast and even took the time to give some advice on some recurring damp issues he'd spotted when installing. Only negative comment for the whole process is it would have been nice to have had the starting time of installation in writing, as all we could find later was the date.

I had my windows installed in 2024 and recently noticed some issues with the fitting. After a rocky start with customer service, the installation team acted quickly and got someone out the very same day to fix the problem. Gav the installer was flexible on timings working around us and came out late in the day. He checked every window, gave us advice on maintenance and even had a go fixing our front door that was neither installed or provided by Abbey Windows! Altogether, I’m super happy and grateful to the team at Abbey Windows for resolving the issues and special mention to Gav for his patience, advice and conscientious work.

used Abbey windows to fit a Ultraframe hybrid livin roof system (everything from dwarf walls up) Pros: fitting team did a great job and worked hard throughout the rain! project manager (during the fit process) was professional and responsive. Very happy with the product overall. Competitive pricing. We had a guttering issue afterwards which was fixed and improved quickly. Cons: Soon after committing to the order, our circumstances changed and we asked if either we could cancel or bring the installation date forwards. Communication was non committal and sluggish, apart from them saying the order could not be cancelled. Our install date, whilst not delayed, was not brought forwards (install was approx 4.5 months from initial order). In hindsight I feel there could have been more effort to accommodate this request. Ultimately we are happy with the build which is the most important thing for the long term!

I am more than satisfied with the replacement windows carried out in February, the best way to describe the 2 day event was likened to A WALK IN THE PARK ....... Rob and his assistant were streamlined from the time of arrival to point of completion., in fact I can honestly say you would not know they had even been in the house, on this basis would thoroughly recommend Abbey any time. Very professional plus non intrusive - excellent. Also the two replacements on 17th were equally in good hands with Dave. Many thanks for a superb job, has made such a difference.

We’re absolutely delighted we chose Abbey Windows to replace our conservatory roof. This is a team that genuinely cares about the quality of their work and delivers exactly what they promise: a high-quality, affordable service, completed ahead of schedule. The roof was removed and replaced quickly—even in the rain—and communication was good, with each trade contacting us directly to arrange the next stage. A special mention goes to Ben the electrician who truly went above and beyond. We expected it would be busy, we knew we might have to chase every now and again. It's going to be a juggling act with unpredictable weather, wrong materials and a Christmas deadline looming. Even when it didn't always go to plan, everyone was considerate and understanding. We knew the new roof would improve the room, but the difference has been astonishing. The heat retention is unreal—we’ve actually had to turn the radiator down in the room next door! Highly recommended.

Rob the window fixer did a great job this morning fixing one window on our landing for us.He is very efficient and tidy and the company have been diligent in their processes from Sales through to Installation.

Windows and front door replaced 6 years ago, pleased with it all. Had a couple of niggles recently with the front door and a window. The whole process from contacting Louise at Abbey Windows Servicing to Andre the technician coming to fix things was very slick and professional.

Rob the window fitter was amazing. He spotted an issue and made sure the surveyor came out before going any further. The work had to stop until a solution was found. Just awful, stay clear

I got windows and doors fitted last year. Partially great price, partially their sales person wasn't really pushy with me (which was a nice change). The fitting was really smooth and the difference on house temperature was noticeable. Unfortunately I've had a problem with the front door lock this year, these things happen, and their customer service and support have been incredible. The lovely guy who they sent out to fix it has been an absolute star and emails with their office have been really easy.

Rob came today to fit our replacement fire door, installation was quick, clean and tidy and you would not even know it had been done as the surrounding decoration was untouched. Abbey is a local company employing skilled people who are a pleasure to have in your home.

Overall very happy with Abbey Windows. The visit for a quote by Neil was friendly and straightforward. I got three quotes and the price was good. Surveyor Piotr was friendly, knowledgeable and thorough. It was very easy to give them the order and progress it and the windows were ready within the quoted lead time. Friendly installers Rob and T-Rae arrived on time and completed the new window installation cheerfully with care and skill and in good time. They were tidy and respectful of my home. The new windows look great and are a great modern upgrade to the old ones, I can only assume they will prove thermally better in winter but its immediately obvious how they have eliminated the motorway road noise. The internal and external finish is good and although one of the windows is a little stiff compared to the others (I didn't notice on handover) I am confident they will be back to adjust it for me and its no big deal. This project was all the windows at the front of the house and when budget allows we will go back to Abbey to replace all the back windows too.

I ave been super impressed with the customer service at Abbey Windows. I bought my front door in 2017 and even 8 years on they treat me as a valued and important customer. Louise in customer service is always super helpful and quick to respond to emails. And the engineer that came out to fix an issue was really helpful and even corrected another issue I hadn't even noticed.

Edit 3: They messed up the order, forgot some parts, and the manager stopped answering my calls and forwarded my emails to someone else. They then invoiced me and tried to charge me for work that wasn’t done (during the installation the installer said it wasn’t necessary anymore). I explained that several times to the accounts team several times and they told me that someone will investigate and get back to me. A month later I got another chaser for the same invoice. I called back and stayed on the line until it was resolved. They finally accepted and issued a new invoice which I settled right there and then. I would not recommend them and wouldn’t use them again. Edit 2: updated to 5 stars as they went above and beyond to fix the mistake and make up for it. Mistakes happen, but it’s how you deal with them that matters. Edit: have updated it to say the owner/manager called me immediately apologising and promised to look into it. It turns out they had the wrong email (1 letter typo). He appreciated the feedback and said he will instruct the sales team to have follow up calls rather than just email and wait for a response just in case. I think this whole issue could’ve been resolved with a simple phone call had the sales team called to check whether I received their email. If I could give it a zero star, I would. I went there a month ago and booked a home visit for the following Monday. The person coming over rescheduled twice on the same day changing the time so I had to keep changing my plans to accommodate. He showed up, took the measurements, and said he’s heading to the office now and will ask his boss and will give me a call by the end of the day with a quote. Didn’t hear back for a few days. I called him to follow up, he said he’s just waiting to hear back from his boss but it won’t be long. I gave it another week. Nothing. I texted. No response whatsoever. I called the next day. He didn’t pick up. Another week or so passes and nothing. On Wednesday this week I called the sales office. I explained the situation and the person on the phone apologised and said he will speak to his boss right away and give me a call back the same day. It’s been 3 days and I haven’t heard back. I’ve called about 5 different times today and nobody is picking up. Even if they needed more time, I would appreciate a call to apologise and explain the situation. Why would I trust a business that can’t even return calls in a timely manner?

Abbey windows were recommended to us by friends. We had a couple of double glazed windows that had blown. We also needed a new back door and window at the back of the garage as well as new double patio doors. The surveyor came round and did all he needed and a few weeks later Rob came to fit everything. From the word go Rob was a pleasure to have in the house and worked quickly and professionally. The garage back door was amazing as were the two replacement windows. Tomorrow Rob will be back to fit the patio doors which I know will be done well. Thank you Rob.

Always an amazing service from the experienced team at Abbey Windows. The attention to detail and customer service process is second to none, and they are always on hand during the whole process. I wouldn't have any hesitation in recommending them - keep up the good work!

Ordered a new front door and the installation was massively delayed with no communication from team, rubbish service

The installation was poorly executed. Silicone was used to patch over chipped timber left exposed during removal of the previous door. Dirty plastic sheeting was added over damaged plasterwork – an eyesore, not a solution. The door expands during warm weather, rendering it impossible to open without excessive force. The latch bolt does not engage properly, causing the door to slam and shake the entire frame when closed. It’s both unsafe and unacceptable. Neighbours have commented that the door is nearly unusable. Internally, the lever handle operation feels obstructed, with resistance that makes it feel as if you’re forcing the mechanism. This is not only poor engineering but a daily source of frustration. After repeated visits, they managed to partially fix the underlying problems, but I do think that the swelling is going to be a problem. Engineers themselves have admitted hesitation to help with the silicone until today. The frame remained smeared with silicone, visibly unprofessional and structurally questionable. The experience has been a waste of time and money. What’s most disappointing is the lack of accountability or ownership. In a functioning customer-first system, the core question would be: “How can I make this right for you?” Unfortunately, Reading, the UK, and often Europe fall short of that standard. Customer service should not just mean replying when pressed — it should mean proactively ensuring the client is 100% satisfied. Responsive when pushed, yes — but fundamentally an incompetent company in both quality of finish and customer care.

We've used Abbey Windows multiple times now to upgrade the doors and windows in our house. They have a great range of products and everyone who we’ve talked to from sales to finance is lovely and approachable. One of the things I appreciate most is that their sales team have never tried a hard sell. Would highly recommend!

The sales and ordering process was relatively simple and the price in line with other suppliers and as I wanted to use a smaller, local company, I went ahead with Abbey Windows. Unfortunately, that is where the expected level of service ends and it has been a disappointing and frustrating experience dealing with Abbey Windows through their complaint procedure. The windows have been installed with uneven and large gaps between the window and frame, to a point where the weather-pile does not touch the frame and a draught can be felt. The second significant issue is the colour, which is not white as requested, but rather a cream/yellow colour. Additionally, the external mortar finish is very poor and has crumbled. The fitter took photos of the issues during fitting and said someone would soon be in contact, however I ended up needing to chase them and put it through their complaints procedure to get a response. They initially said they would speak with the manufacturer to see what the tolerances are and would send someone out to check, however I again had to chase to finally get a response weeks later. A fitter came out to look at the windows, fixed the architrave which had come loose and said he would write a report. I received a response from Abbey Windows saying they are within the manufacturer’s tolerances and they are white – so essentially that’s the end of it. I have asked for the manufacturer’s tolerances and the report but they will not send it to me and have provided no justification as to why they consider them white. It’s such a shame Abbey Windows believe this workmanship is normal for them (see photos to make up your own mind if this standard is what you would like installed on your home). I would not take the risk of using them, especially if Abbey Windows believe cream is white and gaps and draughts are acceptable for new double glazed windows. I have been polite and accommodating throughout this process and provided them with many weeks to resolve the issues, but now it's obvious they are not willing to help rectify the problems, so I will have to waste more time continuing to escalate these issues.

Recently had a new front door and side windows installed with Abbey. The team were lovely from initial visit, showing us product options and visiting the showroom to pick colours. The installation was quick and easy, our installer T was friendly and professional. Cleaned up everything after and had great attention to detail.

Terrible service and non existent communication. Contacted them last year in November to get all window gaskets replaced. Samples were taken, then lost and then retaken so significant rubber seal has been removed at this point and several weeks went to source them. Was then told they cannot be replaced due to being old windows, I then requested my gasket samples to be returned so I could at least go to another supplier but never received them......

Good communication from initial enquiry to after fitting. Clear costs for work required. Fitter friendly, efficient and tidy. Excellent all round service.

I recently visited Abbey Windows show room & was blown away by the friendly helpful staff & the quality of service. The team went out of their way to make sure I had everything I needed. I was replacing all my windows as well as my patio doors and as I had never done this before was nervous about making the wrong choices but the experience was seamless from start to finish. I opted to buy the windows & door from Reading Trade (part of Abbey Windows). I highly recommend both Abbey Windows & Reading Trade to anyone looking for excellent customer service & high quality goods. I’m now looking to replace my front door so will be going back again for that! 10/10 including the fitting which was to an exceptionally high standard!

So after posting poor review I get contacted by a senior member of team at Abbey Windows; who promises to put it right. They accepted that poor communication was not ok. My deposit has been refunded.( not paying for locksmith I had to call out to make door able to lock) And apart from the lie posted below; that my door was left serviceable and safe, which it was not, they’ve taken on board my complaint. Sad that it takes a poor review posted publicly before company takes action. So I upgrade to 3 stars, hoping some training of staff/ procedures happen. Original statement below; ZERO stars! Service awful! Wrong part ( replacement lower door panel) sent out with engineer, who then proceeded to try to make it fit using a hammer. In the process he damaged door so it would no longer lock. 65 hours after the promise by 2 people I would get a call to arrange to fix the issue I had to call a lock smith myself. They are now refusing to refund my deposit and refusing to pay for the lock smith who I had to call so I could secure my property and go to work. Appalling customer service/ poorly trained engineer/ and total lack of consideration for the safety of their customer after making the problem WORSE than it was before. I requested a phone call to explain, and got an email. When I called I got 'sorry' but no responsibility taken by Abbey Windows. Don't touch them with a barge pole.

I have recently contacted abbey windows regarding one of my bifold door panels shattering. I contacted Abbey because they fitted the doors some 9 years ago. The broken panel left the rear of my house vulnerable and having explained the problem I was told by a very nice sounding lady that they would get straight on it. One the right person arrived at the office (that morning) they would ring me back and arrange a speedy visit and replacement. 10 or so days later not a word from abbey. I have now made arrangements with another company who responded in the right way. Now safely boarded up and replacement glass ordered. Won’t use Abbey again or recommend to anyone else. Very poor service from a long established company who have let me down badly😯🪟

We bought a patio door from Abbey Windows and overall a very positive experience. Pros: the sales teams are always very helpful. The install teams were fab too. The door was installed well and the end result is as we had hoped, no regrets. Cons: getting responses to questions we had regarding the spec of the door was difficult, and added months of delays on. They also only sent one person to install these incredibly heavy doors, so what was a 4-hour appointment, turned into a 8.5-hour appointment, but he did such a grand job! We have used Abbey Windows many times before and would consider using again.

We had a Ultraframe 380 roof fitted to replace our 25 year old glass conservatory roof. From the start there was no pressure to agree a sales . Any follow up queries were answered promptly. The work was carried out as planned and the teams from installing , plastering and electrics were very efficient and polite . We were very pleased with the who project. From our experience I would highly recommend this company .

Abbey Windows replaced 2 windows on the top floor. We are very happy with them, Scott fitted the windows to a very high standard, working cleanly and thoughtfully at all times. The project was not straightforward due to restricted access and size of the skylight, however, Nick and his team made it easy and were attentive to ensure a suitable solution was found and the fitting went well. Abbey Windows (Reading) installed a new front door and patio doors. The price was reasonable, the service excellent and the two guys who came to fit it were friendly and professional. They came back a few days later to tweak the front door slightly (I suspect due to the heat) and they both now work perfectly. Very pleased with the whole experience and would recommend. They have a good showroom where you can go in and see the different colours/types of product and I'd also recommend doing this rather than just doing it online or from a brochure. NEW REVIEW: 20/4/24 - We recently had Abbey Windows install two new windows in our house and we were very pleased with the service, from the initial visit to give us a quote to the survey visit and the final installation. The support behind the scenes (admin/payments etc.) also seems well organised, with good communication. Many thanks!

Shame we can't upload photo's as evidence to this review, but the 'driver' of Abbey Windows van SA17RZG has suddenly started parking their van in our street. Do you seriously want someone who is so dim and clueless that they don't know it's an offence to park on the wrong side of the road at night doing something that requires a bit of skill and know-how on your property? You can tell a lot about a tradesperson/firm by how they park their van and this one matches the umpteen horrendous reviews about Abbey Windows on here. "Don't move, improve" is Abbey's slogan. Well Abbey's boss should get a grip on their staff and improve where I live by stopping them parking there. I would be sacked if I took my firm's vehicle home with me. When I worked at Heathrow, 26 miles away, I got into trouble for sleeping in the office building after I locked myself out of my car and the locksmith couldn't make it until 7 the next morning.

Lee and Lewis did a great job of installing a new backdoor taking out the old wooden lintel replacing it with a concrete one. Also, setting the door back so its flush with the wall and the floor, unlike the old door. All neatly finished with trim. Very pleased with the whole process and result.

We had shopped around for bifolds to replace our sliding patio doors for some time and Abbey came back with an extremely competitive quote. The survey was thorough and revealed some structural work was necessary and Abbey again offered good value when the quote had to be revised. We visited the showroom to finalise fittings and finish. Nothing beats seeing door furniture and finishing colours in person. Although there was a relatively long, 12 week lead time for installation, the work was done efficiently and expertly by Abbey's team. They replaced the lintel and installed 3 panel bifold doors in just under 6 hours with minimal disruption, leaving the site clean and tidy with just some external render to repaint. Thank you Abbey.

We use Abbey Windows to build our extension as they are very detail. Builder is very patient and lead me through the whole building process. The project is new to us as we moved to UK 3 years ago. The price is not particular low but it worth for the money in terms of response time, responsibility and quality. We found flaws at the french door and they get us replace after a tel-conversation and sending picture with project manager. Timeline is Ok with only a few days delay but it is acceptable. I think we pick the right one for the project,

I researched 4 different companies for the work we wanted. Abbey were the most cost effective and had the most knowledge and experience working with the Ultraframe product. The whole process from start to finish was very smooth. Rob in Sales, Mike in Surveying and Elaine in billing were all very helpful. Even James the MD was great at keeping me up to date with progress and answering any questions I had. The team managed to come up with some solutions in the design process to ensure we still ended up with the finish we wanted. The work started on time and the workman were so quick because they knew the product inside out. They were clean, tidy and thorough. Great company, really happy with how our new extension looks and would definitely use Abbey again.

Excellent work from Rob and Jack today. They lifted triple glazed patio doors up to a first floor balcony with no problems. The old doors were removed successfully and all the rubbish taken away leaving the room clean and tidy. Thank you to both of them for a really professional job.

The star is for the sales guy and surveyor who were informative, friendly and not at all pushy. This is where our positive experience ended. The fitter was rude and arrogant. On the first day he spent much of his time on his phone outside our house swearing in a very loud voice. Even our neighbours with young children commented. He left mess at the end of each day including debris over my daughter's bed and kitchen worktops, and tube tops, debris and screws across our gardens and communal parking area, which we had to clear up. On the last day I pointed out some snags that my husband had noticed and I got a very rude response. When my husband checked that evening there were still things that hadn't been finished properly. We have since had 3 different fitters out to rectify the problems (all were friendly). All of the windows fitted wouldn't close properly after fitting. The first fitter who came out to rectify this informed us that the plastic stoppers used only for delivery had been left in. This makes me think that a very inexperienced fitter had initially been sent to fit the windows. Other windows were wonky, lead not replaced neatly and french doors catching on opening and closing. Once all problems had been sorted I emailed feedback to Alan Pace, the operations manager who initially sounded concerned and said he would investigate it and reply to me the following week. I heard nothing, spent the next month chasing and only got a reply when I asked for the ombudsman details. His reply said he could see our windows had been fitted and that he hopes we are happy with them! When I replied that I was far from happy I got no further response. I have since escalated this to the complaints team who are looking into it. I would not recommend such a shocking company!! I wish we had spent our money elsewhere with a company who care about customers and take pride in their work!

I have ordered a set of tilt and turn windows from Abbey Windows and the process went as planned. Rob and Jack came and fitted them in a professional manner, cleaned the place and everything went alright and didn't take too long. I am happy with their work and more than happy to share that.

Appalling Deposit paid in April; 12 week lead time, apparently. at the end of the 12 weeks, they told me they couldn't make the windows. I'd have to accept a different style. 7 weeks later, still no idea of whether they can do anything. They never write. I have to chase Everyone from the CEO/MD down is ignoring emails. I managed (once!) to get through to someone. On the Friday evening, he told me he'd have an update on the Monday. Emailed him on the Wednesday; he'd been fired on the Friday night. I phone up. Always promised a phone back. It never happens I'm now investigating a Section 75 through my Credit Card to get my deposit back

I have never written a review before but we have been so happy with our windows and doors from start to after care that I felt I had to share our experience. The sales team included Kevin and Rob who were brilliant; they were so knowledgably and very patient. They spent a lot of time ensuring our choices were exactly what we wanted. We were replacing windows, patios, doors and all roofline work. Our installation was completed through Covid and Abbey kept us informed and managed our expectations at all times. Graham was amazing with the design elements, ensuring the sizing and design was perfect. Our main team of installers were Gary (roofline) and Adrian and Christian who were all wonderful. They were so professional, competent, thoughtful and above all worked to a very high standard. They were really nice to have around and we felt very comfortable with them in our home. We have been delighted with the quality of our windows and bi-folds. Everything is so easy to use and it has transformed our house completely. We have had a small issue with our front door but this was resolved so quickly; the after care has been amazing. We could not recommend this company enough especially to Rob who has been a star throughout. We are so impressed with Abbey that we are now considering them for our proposed extension which is another arm of the business. Thank you Abbey - brilliant team

We found Abbey Windows on a manufacturers web site, after suffering fustrating delays with another local supplier; including an appointment with us that their sales manager missed at their showroom! With Abbey the experience was totally different, Rob in the sales department was excellent, and he got a full quotation to us for replacement windows, new bifolds and replacement glass within two days. The other supplier had taken ten days and we still had nothing useable. The Abbey quote was very competitive and included installation. A follow up meeting on a Sunday morning confirmed the frame colour and blind details. Just excellent service. From previous reviews, we are expecting the delivery and installation to be just as good.

Rob and Jack fitted a large bay window today. They were very polite and friendly and got on with the job efficiently. The installation is very good and they left the place clean and tidy. They also talked to the office on my behalf about another window that was due to be installed. Great job guys! (Dropping a star as the other window wasn't available.)

We had dreadful experience. 7 months waiting for installation after deposit was paid. Multiple calls to the office, never any info or call back. They got no database for staff to share information relevant to customers. 10 people talked to us. Each time there was somebody different. Eventually we had a call to install the following week. So no advance planning was possible. We had to cancel our plans to prepare. They manufactured wrong items. Each out of 4 items is wrong!!!. 4 different people came before manufacturing. Each of them was told and shown by us what we need. Yet both doors open wrong way. one opens blocking entry, another blocks narrow path. Obscured glass of the door is wrong pattern, not matching existing door next to the new door. One window has glass missing and another was wrong size! As it came to installation a window was installed with one glass panel missing. no prior warning. if we knew we would not go ahead. now that window has white panel and no info when they will put the glass in. 3 weeks gone!!!! Obviously no certificate of any kind. The installed door blocks the path and obscured glass looks very different to existing door next to it. The door and window had to be on the same level with one metal over both. This is an old 1930 building, brick is cracked, so needed good support. Yet the door and window are on different levels, brick goes straight over plastic window, then metal, then brick again. not sure that is even legal. it looks like no support is there. Any surveyor can challenge that in future. Two other items we refused to install. The door opens to block entry and the window manufactured wrong size. Yet Abbey insists we ordered that, even when paper work is clear what they manufactured was cancelled. It is crossed by them in updated spec issued by them! When they cancelled before the manufacture that large window and it's installation worth apprx 2K in their prices, they just kept the overall order price the same. So we already signed to pay for both, the cancelled and the required window with only one of them to be manufactured and installed. Yet they demanded more money to give us the right size. Rude arguing with Alan over the phone for hours over and over for 2 days with not a sign of hope for constructive outcome! if they need more money, saying how much more they expect would help at list to understand what is their suggested way out of that dead end. But they just loved the process of bending us further and further. Both items obscured without pattern specified in the contract. No guarantee they will match, considering our prior experience. They also demanded 1.6K to notify Council that windows are installed. Nobody else charges for that. We checked with Council. Nothing was ever submitted. The installer looked good at first, but considering we ended up without a glass in the window, the wrong levels of door and window, and he promised the right size window to keep the installation going, while the office refused that. It looked like a good tradesman was made liying to customers by his office. What a shame! That is not just some complaint. There was open cheating in money and work. Total lack of professionalism in both customer service and actual trade matters.

Abbey Windows did an excellent job fitting our new windows and patio door. Peter came on day one and was friendly, efficient and worked very hard as he was on his own, in bitterly cold conditions. Unfortunately Peter was unwell the next day and Abbey speedily arranged for another team to come a day later to complete the job .. Rob & Jack took over from where Peter had left off, they were also very friendly and efficient (also partial to chocolate swiss roll with their coffee's) :) :). ALL of the fitters were mindful of keeping everything as clean and tidy as they could using dust sheets / hoovering. They were also very "Covid" aware regularly using anti bac to keep everyone safe. We have to say, Abbey Windows truly delivered, and now other neighbours are asking who installed our new windows !

Abbey Windows are superb and always deliver on goods and service. They've helped me out twice and both times have been excellent. For the first, I needed a couple of replacement, sealed double-glazed window units that had condensation inside. They helped me size the replacements which were delivered in good time and expertly fitted. The second time I had some worn hinges on some older windows that weren't up to regulations. Abbey windows advised on a cost effective solution to just replace these hinges with newer 'egress' types. Not only did this save me money (I thought I'd have to replace the windows) but made it all as good as new. The person who fitted them was very professional and efficient and I wouldn't hesitate in using them again.

I have used Abbey Windows to install new windows and replacement doors in my property after being recommended by a different company who could not assist. The sales team were fantastic, I was unsure what I needed, having never carried out this type of work before, and they were very attentive and talked to me about different options and produced amended quotations for me. They answered my questions and were very patient. However, that is where the good experience ended. Once I had paid the deposit to go ahead, I heard nothing from Abbey Windows. I wanted to get this installed in the Summer; and wasn't kept informed. I was aware that due to various lockdowns and issues with supply issues due to Covid and Brexit, and the large volume of people renovating properties, supply chains were being affected. However, I placed my order and the survey took place in June and I didn't hear anything until September, when I chased to see if they were ready only to be told the doors hadn't arrived, and should arrive by end of October. I was patient and understood these delays were not to be helped despite lack of communication. I arranged for the installation to take place in 22 October; and arranged for time off work. I was contacted by Steve Mitchell, the installation manager who informed me (the day before the work was to be completed), he had no paperwork, no drawings, no photos form the survey and he doubted the installation could take place tomorrow. I agreed to send some photos and a floorplan I had on my phone from when I purchased the property only to be told by email that they could not install the next day as the timescale provided of 2 days wouldn't work and it would be 3 days. I was unable to cancel my annual leave due to the short notice (as I was informed in the afternoon). He then suggested starting Monday 25 October - what I couldn't work out is why work could not have started on Friday 22 and carried over to Monday 25 October? A new date was arranged for 1-3 November. I was unable to take time off work, and the work was supervised by my mother. Unfortunately the fitter who arrived on 1 November had a bad back and was on his own - he managed to fit the back door but nothing else. I tried to contact Steve Mitchell and heard nothing. Nobody arrived on 2 November, and on 3 November they were unable to finish. The lack of communication made the whole experience stressful. When it was finally completed, when I returned home (as my mother was unable to supervise as she had a hospital appointment), my brand new carpet was ruined as it looked like someone had placed breeze block and had spilt builders sand on the carpet. Steve Mitchell came to my property and it was agreed Abbey would pay for a carpet clean or replacement carpet if it was unsuccessful and a discussion was had regarding a reduction in the price. I arranged for the carpet clean to take place, and I am still waiting for Abbey windows to pay, some 1 month later as they refuse to honour the discount we discussed. I also have yet to receive my warranty. They have also not finished the surround around the doors adequately leaving expanding foam and gaps on display. They also tried to allege that window boards were not part of the original quotation, despite Rob Irving confirming to me in an email that it was when I raised this. If this company was made up solely of the sales team and some of the fitters, I would give this company 5 stars, sadly due to the delays, non-communication and lack of customer service I have had to review this as 1 star. When I have raised a complaint I am fobbed off and not listened to and they just want to be paid. I too, like Jodie have just been threatened to return the form within 24 hours otherwise they will get debt collectors involved. They have agreed to sort out the trim to my doors issues (only if I return the forms within 24 hours) and refund me my carpet payment. AVOID!

Rob and Jack are friendly, professional and efficient. Replaced all our 100yr old wooden sash throughout the house with new sash, plus bifold patio doors.

Showroom seemed better online than in reality. We had to wait ages to be served then they weren't very helpful at all. We found Crystal windows in B&Q far more helpful and a better price.

I replaced my front door and 9 windows with new double glazing. The guys who installed these were amazing. They were friendly, tidy and cleared all their mess afterwards. My windows look great they really did a grand job. Only thing that could have been improved for future is better communication which was a little staggered at times otherwise I would highly recommend to anyone.

What can I say Chris, Michael and Jack have been amazing and have done a great job on our windows. Very clean and tidy and we are really happy with the results! Highly recommend Abbey windows and if you are lucky enough to have these 3 your promised to have a proper job done!

Awful company and I would never recommend or use them again. My new room can only be described as a bodge job and I wish I had chosen to spend my money elsewhere. Almost 5 months on and there are still issues which Abbey Windows are in no rush to resolve despite being chased. Pieces literally falling off the inside of the room, doors which work intermittently and so many imperfections. My heart sinks every time I look around, I will now spend the next 10 years paying off a disappointment of a room. Please please save yourself the upset and look elsewhere. UPDATE- Abbey Windows response is inaccurate and missing facts. The satisfaction note was signed off after weeks of going back and forth, being ill and having already been threatened with debt collectors when I said we wouldn’t pay whilst there are issues. That is how Abbey Windows really treat unhappy customers, always quick to belittle issues raised or place blame elsewhere, sub contractors, manufacturers etc. Don’t be fooled, it is not only bits of trim which are an issue with this room. Also, the door is still an issue, not resolved. We were told last week we would receive a call after chasing yet again, only now have I received an e-mail, over a week later, which I assume is only due to my review. Poor poor service.

We had our upstairs windows replaced by Rob and Jack. They were very friendly, punctual and helpful in explaining the entire installation process. I do not recommend . They put a new door on me but it was broken. The door assembler saw that the transport was damaged. No response to the application. After making a phone call asking what to do next, the exchange was promised, but no action after more than a month. I am waiting

Really excellent company replaced aged conservatory roof and also added new lightning previously absent. Highly recommend. Pre Sales engagement excellent and with detailed design and quotation gave us confidence to proceed. Surveying, roof replacement, plastering and electrics all completed with courteous and professional teams.

I wondering from where is coming those 5 stars what I believe is frends of them or people who been called and asked to change the review how I been called from them to change my review, but my experience was the worst experience ever with Abbey Window from the start to end of the job. First with the measurement what first time was 25m square and the end the right measurement was 14.5m Square what was confirmed in email, so be careful when they measuring any work. After this with the survey after when I drove to work and back 100 miles they called me on that day that the survey not will be happening and the appointment been moved to next week . If you people still want to work with them , please ask every little detail how and what they will use for cladding because nobody tells that the cladding not including insulation under cladding just cladding. So my star is 1 star because I can't do 0.

From walking into the showrooms to installation Abbey Windows have performed on point. Not only are our new windows and doors an excellent quality, we cannot fault the service we have received. No question was left unanswered. Attention to aesthetics was important and the staff at Abbey Windows Were more than happy to help with visuals and suggestions during the design and planning process Christian and Adrian were the chaps that came and installed out new windows and doors. Clearly, with years of experience they made the job a smooth and swift one with no mess to tackle after their departure. I am delighted to report that we have received complete satisfaction from Abbey Windows. Before taking them on, we checked prices with both local and national suppliers, and indeed visited two demonstration sites. It was apparent that Abbey use the most up to date products and were not at all aggressive in their sales technique. The two constructors worked very hard and were most pleasant to have in our home. They demolished the old conservatory in short time and surprisingly built the new one in three days ! We are extremely pleased with the finished article and are happy to recommend this company.

I had Abbey Windows supply and install a set of french doors and patio doors at my home. What a waste of time. The salesperson refused to come into my house despite me saying I would keep back from him. How about they provide some form of PPE to their staff if they have to enter a house. How else is he meant to actually measure windows. Complete timewaster.

They were polite and helpful during the quote and measurement phase, never a sales pitch and all options and issues were discussed honestly. Brilliant job done by the guys at Abbey windows! Very professional, reliable, clean and tidy. The whole thing was a very smooth process. It started with a chat on the office with a great guy called Neil then ager a few weeks we had a lovely guy called Adam and his apprentice Keiron come out and fit 11 windows, 3 doors and a porch which they completed in 5 days with no issues whatsoever. Great job would highly recommend.

Dont be fooled by them given you a ten year guarantee, for the product they put in the property,. Because this property changed ownership, I will have to pay for them to come and look at my door that does'nt close properly. It's the same door on the same property, and they were quite rude about it. A take it or leave it attitude. I suppose it does'nt matter now as the door has been fitted and paid for a couple of years ago, they don't seem to care about after care .

A Lovely Job!! Would Recommend

I would highly recommend Abbey Windows. I have recently purchased a conservatory and the quality of the products was fantastic. They visited site to measure up and offer advise, produced a 3D drawing for me of what my conservatory looked like and then supplied exactly what we wanted. I would highly recommend them.

Avoid like the plague. Rubbish quality door and side panels that cost £2.5k. Terrible service, not interested in correcting bad installation or product. Product was not the model ordered and seen in showroom they didn’t care. Door lock broke within 6 months which they did replace but left me to buy the new 3 additional keys needed that cost £25 each after having already paid 3 x £25 when first installed. Left them bad review on checkatrade for which the director tried to bribe me with £75 to withdraw. When I refused he replied on checkatrade by calling me immoral.

All positive at the start. During installation window was found to be the wrong size after ripping out the old window. Although this was disappointing Abbey followed up and did some extra work to make up for the issues. It has taken time but I am much happier with the service provided.

Great Service Right from our initial meeting with Neil Humphries our experience in dealing with Abbey Windows has been first class. Neil gave us some great ideas which enhanced the conservatory design beyond our expectations. Neil then passed us over to the installation team where each stage of the build was overseen by Elaine who kept us up to date throughout. Every trade person who came to our house during the process was extremely professional, punctual and discreet. I would have no hesitation in recommending them.

Appalling company. They did make a mistake in designing the window and did not take any responsibility for it. A very rude gentleman called James and introduced himself as the proprietor of the company was absive and started shouting and then decided to leave us in open open air as they had already removed the old one. in a freezing temperature despite I told him that we had a small baby. I would not recommend this company at all.

We have visited the showroom on two occasions, once without booking an appointment. Both visits were positive experiences and the front room staff were both welcoming and knowledgeable. Anna, in particular was extremely helpful and offered me a chair without waiting for me to ask. On our 2nd visit Andrew helped us through the complexity of the ordering process and he proved to be a mine of information. Abbey sell good products and give an excellent service. They also have a good showroom.

Finally bay window all completed - a lot of effort by a lot of people to make sure things were right. The warm core bifold door was installed a treat - well worth it a nice door all round. Went for triple glazed now radiator down from 10ft to 4ft and a lot warmer room. Installer first class making sure everything was spot on, cant fault that. Problems taken on board and sorted to be fair to all.

Having had our windows done by Abbey, they were first choice for our conservatory. We revised the design several times, but Abbey patiently kept up with us and helped us to improve the design until it was perfect. They arrived on time for the fitting and finished on time as well. The result is excellent quality and just what we wanted. Well done!

Enjoyed the visit. Not only was the business side settled speedily and easily but it was also good to meet a local person who is obviously involved with the community in so many ways.

Excellent service from beginning to end. We have had several jobs through Abbey Windows and I can not fault them. Most recently, following a damaged door, they came out very quickly to secure the door and it was replaced within a few weeks. We have also had replacement glass windows and a new composite door in the past and we were very pleased with the work. Great service from the whole team and they even helped out when we managed to lock ourselves out! Would definitely recommend, everyone is very friendly and helpful. Abbey Windows were recommended to me by a happy customer and I have to say they were right! Excellent customer service, the team that fixed the windows were on time, very pleasant and knew the products and installation inside out and explained how to care for my new french windows, down to the hinge cleaning! I would not hesitate to recommend Abbey Windows. 5 stars.

Just wanted to give Abbey Windows and the Team some good feed back on behalf of my boyfriend & I. We moved into a house with awful windows (all steamed up and most of the locks didn't work) and Andy and the team did a great job for us, giving us a good price and a quick turn around time. I with out doubt would recommend Abbey windows to anyone. Great Service by Great People.

A big thank you to Andy and the team at Abbey. I looked long and hard to find bi fold doors that matched my requirements. Abbey had a great range and provided good advice. Their fitters were on time, polite and created minimal disruption. The doors look great and we are now looking at getting our windows replaced. Keep up the good work!

Appalling: Job was left half-finished with temp. single-glazing, letting in water, while they invoiced full balance. Charged same price for finished upper window that was under half size of that quoted. Payment expected before husband could see same eve & aggressively pursued next am - on our doorstep for cheque! Easifold bifold doors impossible to close on hot day; Abbey refused to sort out, claimed we’d caused it! A window doctor said there hadn’t been sufficient tolerances & he was also very concerned 4 windows were worst he’d ever seen; partly jutting out & frames bowed, would eventually leak. Consumer Direct advised to write to them, quoting legal obligations, but they sent accusative letters of denial. Warranty obviously useless. Reported to Trading Standards but they couldn’t even get the MD, Andrew Young, out to see state of their work; he seems only concerned with self-promoting ‘charity work’. TD did get Abbey to eventually honour Winter Fit promised M&S voucher.

I have used Abbey Windows on several occasions now and each time I have found them to be very efficient, clean and tidy and their windows are great quality. Unlike some window companies, there is no pressure with Abbey, they come round give you a very competitive quote and leave you in peace to make a decision. I would definitely recommend them - they are great.

Although the office staff were as helpful as they could be I have not had a good experience with Abbey Windows. The lead time was delayed due to Christmas which I would have thought would have been factored in. The incorrect windows were then delivered and although a discount given it wasn't an ideal start and now a month after payingtwo of the bars have fallen off the outside of my windows. Thankfully I was able to get help with taking time off work otherwise I could have used good chunk of my annual leave waiting for Abbey to get it right.

Avoid at all costs they will mess you around. Tried twice now to get abbey windows reading out to measure up. Have now taken two days holiday off and both times nobody has turned up. Even called in the afternoon to check the person was still coming and was told "yes he's definitely coming" only for the person not to appear. Shocking service and would not recommend.
