We read reviews of quite a few companies before settling on Spectra. Many of them were 5 star and I've no reason to think they wouldn't have also been excellent so choosing was hard, but in the end we went with the one our neighbour had used. Have to say we can't fault them - the end to end process was handled really well. Communication has been excellent and the installation and follow up support has been everything we could have asked for. So I'd have no hesitation in recommending them to anyone struggling to choose. The price was also very competitive btw. Thanks guys

Shopped around for solar panel and battery installation. Decided on Spectra due to being a Which approved trader and using there own installation team. The price was not far off the cheapest as well. Also no pressure selling. Roofing lads Brett and Brook arrived just after 8am and the electrician Liam about 9 who went through everything with me. The whole team were a credit to the company. Everything was left clean and tidy after installation and a full explanation of how the system app worked. Post and pre install comms from Kurt was and is still excellent. No issues to report. All documents sent through straight after payment. Really pleased with whole process. 14 panels Hanchu battery and invertor. All neat and tidy.

To save you reading the rest - I'll sum it up in one word - Impressive! From inital contact there's no hard sell, no pressure, but plenty of advice. Having contemplated solar for a few months, I'd done plenty of research. Being local to their offices, the wife and I arranged to pop in to their showroom. Again no pressure, no hard sell, but very knowledgeable, backing up I'd gleaned from my research. Mike turned up to conduct the survey as arranged, I wanted to be clear on what to expect and if there were any issues, and Mike made suggestions on how to install the equipment in the garage without damaging the pre-fab concrete. We agreed on the trench location between the house and garage to prevent damage to the new driveway - Important as the scaffolders errected their scaffold right over the area, luckily I was at home when they came to errect it and they managed to position the two legs so not to be in the way. Installation day, the lads rocked up just after 8am on a frosty January morning, Tea, Coffee & biscuits were welcomed by them, they simply just got on with it. I was sceptical they'd get it done in the day, but the roofing team were done by mid afternoon, leaving the electricians to connect and commission the system. That was all done around 5pm. The installation in the garage with Uni-Strut is tidy, they routed the DC cables through the soffit, from the loft space - I was expecting a hole through the wall. The internal consumer unit is tidy, and there's been no issues since the install. I can't wait for the sunnier weather, as despite the rain & fog recently the system's already impressed me with it's generation quite offten the base load is solely from PV.

I highly recommend this company. Too often we are let down by merchants making appointments and not appearing. Spectra fulfilled all of their commitments leading to our installation recently. The weather was awful on the due day but fitters arrived on time followed by electricians. All were courteous, respectful and helpful. As promised the installation was completed in one day - not easy on a dark wet day in December - and full instructions were given to download the ubiquitous 'App'. The fitters finally departed in the dark having cleaned up behind themselves. I am delighted with the work which is generating already.

I would highly recommend Spectra Solar Ltd for the installation of Solar PV system on your residence. Right from the start i noticed how excellent Mike was at communication. It is clear that he is an experts in this field, but they took the time on numerous occasions to talk me through the various options and tweak to match my needs or requests. All of this was done in language and terminology that I could understand. Once I was happy for the order to go ahead, Spectra Solar Ltd team delivered on the promised date for the setup of my installation of system. On the day the team consisted of Jordan, Brett and Wayne. I was very much impressed on how they performed their task in a professional, neat yet thorough manner and were very much approachable and considerate of my needs. I can’t fault their workmanship (top notch). My system consists of 11 solar panels, 7.2kwh battery and 3.6 inverter. To my surprise the job only lasted a day. Another important factor for me was that Spectra Solar Ltd ask for no upfront payments and the final payment could be paid on card, which was a positive for me. Superb and knowledgeable - Spectra guide you through the process from design to installation, answer all questions and form a genuine partnership. Installation was textbook and I was kept fully informed throughout every step in the project. Very pleased with the results and my investment is already making savings that are contributing towards playback, plus i'm doing my bit for the environment for the next 30 years. My install is a domestic 17 panel solar with battery storage plus inverter.

Very impressed with Spectra Solar from initial contact through to installation today. There was no pressure whatsoever from a ‘sales’ perspective; everything they said would be done has been and the job is very neat and tidy. The staff right through from the initial enquiry with the office, the subsequent survey and the installation couldn’t have been more accommodating.The initial enquiry produced a quote (and a revised quote when we upgraded the inverter) no pushy sales follow ups. Both the roofing team and the electricians today were polite, efficient and an absolute credit to the company. We highly recommend them; if you are thinking of solar panels/battery systems you won’t go wrong with Spectra. It was an absolute pleasure to have the team working here today 👌

Great service and went the extra mile during my recent install

Right from the start of the process I have had absolute confidence in the team at Spectra, no hard sell, honest opinions and a level of trust that is unusual these days. There were opportunities when they could have sold me additional equipment, however, Jonathan suggested that it would be better to wait and see before investing in additional battery storage which we may not need. The team who did the installation were fantastic, from the scaffolders to the roofing team and electrical engineers, all were professional and showed a genuine pride in the work that they were carrying out. Once commissioned the team were quick to react to any minor issues which presented, to the extent that when I phoned they told me what the issue was before I had even mentioned it! They had been monitoring the system and were already on with the solution. So far the system has been up and running for just over a week and is already surpassing the estimate for the amount that would be generated, we have had at least three days where our energy needs have been 98% covered by the solar and battery storage.

Contacted Spectra when getting quotes for a solar install. Spectra had been recommended to me and were fairly local too. Had an initial telephone call with the office and was provided with a detailed initial quote and information about the company. The initial quote was for a Hanchu system but they also provided quotes for other makes. I was initially unsure exactly what configuration I wanted but Jonathan in the office was really good at talking things through with me and coming back to me with quotes for different configurations. In the end I went with a Fox system with 2 stackable batteries. Jonathan came out twice to measure the roof (due to small garden it was tricky for him to use his tool but he took his time both times he was here) and was unsure if I could fit 12 panels and said it might be 9 but they'd try for 12 on the day. Comms with the company was great, I didn't need to chase them once and they were all really friendly. Scaffolding was arranged and the workmen were friendly and had the scaffolding up in a couple of hours. On install day the roofer said he could fit the 12 panels and they did a really neat and tidy job. The electricians also did a really good job with a nice neat install despite layout of my house being a little awkward. The roofers and electricians were also really friendly and a professional. Overall the install took around 6 hours and all the rubbish was taken away by them. The Fox app was set up for me and the system was checked over and explained to me. My electric bill has gone down from £120 a month to £20 and I've been getting around £100 a month back in SEG payments. The system has performed flawlessly since installed, generating just short of 1mw in May. After the install I had all the relevant paperwork sent over to me in good time. Overall I couldn't be happier with the install and how good Spectra were. I'd happily recommend them to anyone considering getting solar installed.

We requested a quote from Spectra Solar and were happy to receive a detailed emailed quote, with no-one wanting to visit in person, no pushy salesmen or pressure to buy unlike other companies we contacted. Other companies gave us a quote much higher than Spectra, then slashed thousands off the price to try and get our business. None of this with Spectra, the price was realistic and fair to start with. Jonathan in the office was helpful and informative, Mike came to do a survey when we accepted the quote and was friendly and helped us tailor the quote to our needs. The lads came to fit the system and were quick, efficient and tidy and we are delighted with the install. Liam explained the system and the app before leaving. I wouldn't hesitate recommending this company to anyone, great service.

If you’re reading this because you’re on the fence choosing a solar installer, then stop searching; these are the guys to use! I’m a bit of a geek about this stuff. So I did plenty of shopping around, and this is what I found: -- Some installers talked a good talk, but were also very expensive and pushy. -- Some were competitively priced, but I wouldn’t trust them with my property. -- Spectra came to me as a recommendation, which I’m glad I listened to! Spectra provided decent kit, at a competitive price. But perhaps the most important to me, was that they were 10/10 knowledgeable, trustworthy and professional... With an investment like this, you won’t find a better service! I got a 7kW inverter, 10kW battery, 18 panels and a manual-changeover switch… It’s been performing very well! Before installation: -- Spectra did a great job of helping me choose the best kit to suit my property and budget. -- They were very knowledgeable and patient in answering all of my questions / concerns. During installation: -- The roofers did a great, tidy job of the panel installation and cabling. -- The electricians did a great job of the inverter, battery & changeover installation, keeping it all neat and tidy. After installation: -- They continued to help me with the paperwork and make sure the app / monitoring is working smoothly. Thank you!

Could not recommend enough! Spectra Solar have been incredibly kind with their time to run through the proposal and were always really quick to respond to any questions we had. On install day the team were here on time and worked straight through to get the work done quickly. They asked questions about routes of cables and were accommodating to our requests.

From first engagement to last, this is a solar company getting it right. No pushy sales, happy to answer any questions, and refine quotes until you're happy. Everything ran exactly on time, survey, scaffolders, solar panel fitters, and electrician. All great blokes, easy to chat to and respectful, a very neat job done from all too. Been very impressed by the solar production, battery, and fox ess app so far. Have already been recommending them to friends. Haven't had any issues yet, so can't pass comment on that side, but I've every confidence they'd do something about it in short order.

First class operation from start (initial email approach by me) to completion. The price for the complete package was very competitive and communication was excellent from all the employees that I dealt with. I have to particularly praise the honesty and attention to detail in going through every item and discussing pros and cons of changes I requested. Installation was planned very quickly after G99 approval and the team arrived on time and completed an excellent installation in one day as promised. Post install I have had to get technical support with a required firmware upgrade from Jonathan in the office - again excellent communication and rapid resolution of the issue. I would recommend these guys to anyone in their area without question.

Went the extra mile very helpful and efficient

Experience from start to finish has been great. I hardly ever give full marks, but pleased to do so for this. I did quite a lot of research into suppliers to find a company who understood & could deliver what I wanted from a solar & battery system, my main priorities being resilience & cost savings with anything from feed-in tariffs as a secondary bonus. Having moved to a beautiful valley in Wales, with overhead power supply (& all the issues that might bring in winter when you need power most), I could see little point in having a solar & battery system that could not be used in case of a power outage. I also keep tropical fish, so wanted them, as well as freezer, central heating etc to be ok if we happened to be away, hence an automatic cutover!. Little did I realise that many suppliers just can't deliver what seems to be a simple & logical solution to maintain a household supply (most suppliers don't tell you your solar & batteries would automatically shut down if mains/grid supply fails, so it doesn't electrocute engineers working on the fault) . Even when they claimed they could, it took quite a while on a couple of occasions to get an admission that there would be additional work required post installation, "outside their scope" & therefore undetermined additional work & cost (assuming their inverter even had the capability!) - no good to me! I eventually found 2 companies (coincidentally not far from our old home of Bolton) who could give me maximum capacity for the roof with a good sized inverter & battery, but more importantly, with an automated cutover to isolate the grid & provide an Emergency Power Supply if needed (Spectra also sorted out the application to install a system over the power threshold requiring permission that others used as a householders limit!. Although theres a DNO limit on the power that can be exported, I don't see any issue - we use a background level anyway, so it wouldn't be very often that more than that limit would be available) I eventually chose Spectra, mainly because of the apparently slightly better roof system for slate tiles. They were a comparable cost to the alternative (and actually not as expensive as another prominent company for far less power & with no EPS ability!) Scaffolding was installed by a local company on the date desired & the solar team arrived very early in the day to start work & got the roof completed way quicker than I expected. The electrics too a little longer, hampered by our stone walls being rather tricky to drill & fix kit to (either hard slate or crumbly mortar!), but overcame any difficulties, including working in the loft sauna! A great bunch of guys, a real credit to Spectra......my only WARNING? - make sure you have plenty of sugar for their brews! (its not something we had much of, so had to pop out) Yes, I could have paid less if I'd gone with another choice - But, although EPS might not be important to some, how annoyed would I have been (with myself!) if I then found I'd not got what I wanted (i.e. automatic failover to EPS) because I'd not asked the right questions or pushed for the answers. Spectra understood what I wanted & why, plus were very clear with their design & specs from the outset - all of which gave me great deal of confidence. Note that I was previously on the brink of committing to an order with a different company that would have cost significantly more with less generation, half the battery capacity, & after a lot of pushing, admission that EPS could not be included. Credit tio them though, the small "price holding" deposit was refunded promptly when it was cancelled (Id admit, possibly lured in by sales techniques)! So beware. as spectra say in their FB posts, do your homework!. 6 months in (Jan 25). All still well & good. As you'd expect with recent weather, short days & mostly overcast, there's not a lot being generated compared to summer, but there's still some power coming in from the panels. With all the Red warnings we've had, I've also set batteries to top up a bit overnight from the grid.🙂

We have just had our solar panels and battery installed by Spectra and the whole process from start to finish has been great! From the beginning, they have been very helpful with quick replies to emails and useful help and guidance on what to get to suit our needs. We had slight issues following the installation with connecting the solar panels to our wifi but Spectra were incredibly helpful and patient with us throughout, talking us through what to do and always being on hand to answer queries. We could not fault their service throughout and would happily recommend them to anyone looking to get solar panels installed!

Everything from answering my questions, providing quotes & alternative options & survey, to getting DNO authorisation for the 5kw inverter & Installation was straightforward. I don't normally do reviews but our experience with Spectra Solar has been exceptional - I wish every company conducted there business in the same way! From the first contact to completion of the job the team could not have been more helpful and supportive. The scaffolders (Amber Scaff) were brilliant; the roofers endlessly cheerful even in the torrential rain; the electricians going way beyond the extra mild to ensure the system was working properly; and the support staff in the office extremely patient in answering my endless questions and ensuring every aspect of the job was done to the highest standards. Well after a lot of searching in the minefield of solar companies we ( I must say) stumbled across spectra by accident. What an accidental stumble it was. Initial contact was made via Facebook direct with the owner on a Sunday morning. I then read ALL of the google reviews and was already having a good feeling about this company. So arranged a call for the next day to speak to them. Directly spoke to the owner who then filled me with confidence. He also explained that once the quote was done that the company will not keep bothering you like other companies do to get your business. Something he even admitted that people would get the wrong impression of his company because in this day and age it’s what everyone does. So we had a very good remote quote from them we then arranged a site visit. The site visit was on time and extremely professional but also on a very personal And down to earth level. We agreed a date for install And everything was in place. So day of install the roof team arrived and very polite explained what they was doing and proceeded to crack on. The two electricians arrived once again extremely polite and explained what they would do. Before long the roof lads had completed the job and were on their way leaving the electricians to finish off. The electricians had a slight problem due to my router being the cause of the problems but once that was done they explained how everything worked And we was up and running. So I write this review after two months of the install. I like to do this so if any problems occur I can see how good the company is. We had one problem ( not of spectra’s making) but to do with the app. I emailed them at around 6am about it by 9.30am I had a call direct from the owner. I extremely confident that if any problems occur along the way these guys will be on hand to sort it. The ladies in the office once again on the ball in emailing all relevant documents across in a speedily fashion. So spectra from Colette And myself get a 10/10 Many thanks for a trouble free install and making the build up to the install trouble free.

I already had solar PV, and was looking to add battery storage with AC coupled inverter. I had made enquiries with a few companies, but there was only Spectra solar that I felt truly comfortable with. Having decided to get Solar Panels and knowing nothing about them it was daunting to start getting quotations and to pick a reliable supplier. We had about 4 or 5 quotations and a number of discussions with companies some clearly knew what they were talking about and others were just trained to put your house into a software template without really being able to answer the questions you had before undergoing something of this scope. I had a couple of discussions with Spectra Solar and decided to use them based upon the customer feedback they had online and due to the excellent advice given to me by Jonathan. Their surveyor came on Christmas Eve, he was really nice and did a very thorough job of checking our roof and discussing where we wanted the installation of the batteries and inverter,  we also decided to have the mesh netting put on the panels to stop birds or squirrels which no other company suggested. We then did hit a major block as National Grid said we had to have a compete new feed to get 3Phase power as our supply was joined from the house next door, we had no idea it was, the house was built in 1936 and so we had to wait for them to close the road and dig up the pavement and our drive. There is no charge for consumers to do this, but quite a backlog to wait to get it done, Spectra helped to chase them up and completed all of the requests and paperwork. We were having 9 panels, over 3 roof sections 2 batteries and a 5KW Inverter, the scaffolders came first and did a great job of putting it up, including an afternoons delay whilst we got someone to remove a wasp nest. The Spectra installers came on a Friday, there were two electricans and two panel installers, they arrived at 9:00 and were on their way at 3:30 with everything clean tidy, the wiring and installation looks especially neat and free solar was power coming into the house. They made sure we had the app set up and we were logged in and on Monday we called in and Jonathan finished setting it up and gave us the passwords. The scaffolding stayed for a week to ensure there were no issues and then they took it down in a morning, they hadn't anchored it into the brick work so there was no patching needed to be done and you wouldn't know it had been there. Spectra sent us all the documentation and we have spoken once just to understand a bit more about the app. We were already with Octopus Energy and after a couple of calls they set up the Export tarrif and it was working within 5 days. If we had been able to have 3 Phase Power the whole thing would have only taken about a month, still we now have a brand new supply, which apparently would have had to have been done at some point. We have already recommended Spectra Solar to some friends and witout hestiation would recommend them to other people.

Just shy of a week so far with my PV installation from Spectra, and they've been brilliant. From the very start the comms were spot on; leading through the initial quote; then roof survey and ultimately arranging the scaffolding and finally the install. Have no complaints about anything. I'm fairly technical so have been asking lots of questions and Jonathan has been more than happy to oblige by mitherings :-) All the work was done to a very high standard - from the proper roof tile installation (ie notching for the brackets - some cowboys apparantly skip this!), to suggesting a better route to my garage for the PV cables on the day, and touch wood, zero issues to report. Everything is working perfectly. IF I did have an issue, I'm confident they would help me with no hesitation. I did a lot of research, and obtained various quotes prior to choosing Spectra I would absolutely recommend them. Not only extremely competitive price-wise, but the lads who came to do the install clearly took pride in their work.

I had Spectra install my PV and battery system on the 23rd July. Everything from start (quote from Jonathan), visit from Mike, the girls in the office (particularly Ellie who i dealt with a few times), and the installation team was fantastic. Liam the electrician did a superb job of wiring up, I’ve never seen such a tidy install! They were really honest, friendly and did a cracking job. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend these guys. I’m now happily generating enough to power the house and fill my batteries with a little to export too. Very happy.

We can't fault the service we've received from Spectra. From the initial consultation and follow up calls to discuss a potential plan/quote and technical questions, through the survey stage and to the installation then post sales queries - they've been superb. Our quote was provided by Jonathan who helped us to understand everything and made it really clear about what we were investing in, how it works and what it could do for us. Really knows his stuff when it comes to solar. The survey was thorough - letting us know the layout of our panels, where the additional equipment would be installed along with how and where cabling would be run through the roof etc. The office support came from Ellie who was great in organising our scaffolding, payments, documentation and anything else we needed help with. We received everything when Ellie said we would including post installation (certification etc) and she was great in terms of returning calls or following up on our questions. The fitters - including the electrician - were brilliant on the day. Having recently completed a large extension/refurb on our house we were concerned about potential damage or issues as a result of having a solar installation. We needn't have worried - the quality of their work is excellent and they've done such a neat job. We were really, really impressed - especially as they had to deal with a difficult configuration on our property. Finally, the system itself. We had 19 solar panels - 7 on the front and 12 on the back, 2 x 5kw battery and an 8kw inverter. On the first full day it went live (19/07/24) it generated 45kwh ! The system is working great as it easily covers our daily usage, our batteries are constantly full and we're sending plenty back to the grid which we will shortly start getting paid for. Still learning the ropes when it comes to using the system but all going well so far. Overall, we're glad we decided to go ahead with a solar system and even happier we went with Spectra Solar Ltd. Don't often write a review but in this case I thought Spectra deserved it for the 5 star service they have provided us. Thank you Spectra Solar Ltd!

I cannot say enough good things about Spectra Solar. From the initial call to the final installation, everything was top-notch. The customer service team was friendly and knowledgeable, answering all of my questions and guiding me through the process. When I moved to my new home in Wigan, I was really pleased to have Solar Panels and expected to benefit greatly from the generated electricity they would export. Unfortunately, I soon found out that my Solar System was very inefficient and the generated electricity was too low. The output was so low, to the extent that Shell Energy, now called Octopus, would question my submission and ask for photographic proof of the readings. I contacted “SPECTRA SOLAR”, spoke to Jonathan, explained the problem and an appointment was made to have the Solar System inspected by one of their engineers. On the appointed day Shaun arrived, inspected the system and confirmed that there was a fault and the generated electricity was well below the expected level. To identify the fault, Shaun replaced first the generation meter and when he established that the meter was not the problem he replaced the Invertor. Now everything works fine. During my dealings with “SPECTRA”, I found both Jonathan and Shaun very professional, helpful and always taking time to explain in layman’s terms. I therefore, cannot praise “SPECTRA SOLAR” and it’s team enough and would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone.

Spectra provide an outstanding level of service. I received a prompt and detailed quote to my enquiry, an honest and instructive site visit, an installation plan with dates they adhered to, really good polite and helpful guys (their own employees, not sub-contractors) for the install, and finally prompt documentation which enabled me to set up the correct tariffs with Octopus. I cannot fault them.

Absolutely fantastic company to deal with. We obtained a few quotes from different companies but these guys really shone through! Far more knowledgeable and customer focused than others, they went above and beyond from the initial quotation until commissioning. Installation was completed within a day and as an electrician and previously a solar installer myself, I can say the quality of workmanship is 5* Wouldn't hesitate in recommending Spectra to anyone wanting solar and battery storage installed on their property.

Excellent from start to finish, I contacted them based on online reviews and they didn't disappoint. After a brief conversation about my property and needs they sent over 2 well documented quotes that contained everything I could possibly want to know and left it with me, there was no pushy sales or constant follow up emails, the ball was completely left with me. After contacting them to agree to go ahead with the installation, a survey was quickly dealt with by one of their agents. He was extremely knowledgeable and friendly, quickly helped identify where things would be installed and how things on the day would go. The office team dealt with everything very quickly and kept us informed about what was going on and what we needed to do. On the day of the install the team showed up around 8am and where done around 5pm. The were very friendly and professional and I couldn't praise them more. After sales were great, there was a slight issue with the inverter which was dealt with the same day I contacted them. Honestly, I cannot praise this company enough and would recommended them to everyone.

After a thorough survey the final quotation came through and a date set for the installation - A Crist November day, down to -2C when the guys started to install the panels - 2 on the outside, one inside doing the electrics - all very efficient, and neat/tidy - a great installation, and I look forward to gaaining the benefits from the installation, and future cost savings. Altogether very competitively priced, great service and support all the way through the process.

I tend to do a lot of research before I do any project - especially one of this expense so I did spend weeks trawling the internet and watching videos, reading articles and visiting government websites. I had three companies come and visit me all of which were local to me and from Yorkshire (normally a must for me).... then I rang Spectra and the friendly voice on the phone put me through to Jonathan. All I can say is that from that moment I felt that Jonathan placed me in safe hands - he guided me through the process and it became pretty clear that two of the three quotes I'd had were very much focused on getting a quick install and ease for them - not what was right for me. Jonathan and his team did an amazing job - they explained everything, gave me the options I wanted and did exactly as they said they would - on time for the scaffolding, the installation took two days and the monitoring was a breeze. A full set of documents came through one week after the installation was complete and I feel very grateful for having selected Spectra rather than some of my friends who had selected companies not as honest (and some not in business anymore). I had 16 solar panels installed on a slate roof, with bird and vermin protection, in the loft was an inventor by Lux and 3 x 3.2kw batteries then an external fuse box in white to match the electricity and gas boxes - perfect! The icing on the cake was the tree certificate I received today which was a really nice gesture to show how much they care for the customer and the environment. Highly recommended and I will be using them again when I change to an electric vehicle and to add more batteries at a later stage!

The lads turned up at 8:30 and got right onto it. The weather was very very windy, but this didn’t stop the panel lads. The electrician doing the work mostly inside was on the go all day. The work was completed and every Thing tidy by approx 4pm. Tested the system as working before leaving. The only comment I would make is not supplying the app details to me there and then, but instead only supplying these on payment in full. I can only assume they have a reason for this. Otherwise on price, the quality of the work, and dealing with Jonathan and the team has been a a pleasure and I would recommend. For info spectra under cut 4 other company’s I got in for quotes and even beat their original quote from June 22. Well done and thanks

From initial quote, to survey, then fitting, I found everybody involved very professional and knowledgeable. Every arrival was bang on time as promised, the job was done to a high standard by conscientious fitters and an electrician. Once fitted and tested the system works perfectly and was monitored by them just in case. The after sales service has also been excellent. Any queries you have are very knowledgeably dealt with. Where to start? From the very first phone call, answered by a human who listened to concerns regarding three other quotes I'd received and sent out a surveyor the very same week who reassured and did a full in depth survey not a tick box sales pitch then sent me the full breakdown of everything involved, costs, performance expectations etc.. brilliant. Then after agreement they did all the application to the grid, keeping me informed all along.. Date for installation set.. just a few months since initial contact and the team turned up prompt on the day despite the foul weather.. they liased with scaffolding prior to and as said despite the foul weather just got on with what can only be described as a perfect, neat tidy installation.. no fuss, respectful of property and today is our first day of zero grid import.. Recommended fully. If only to include in other quotes but a tip from me, compare the goods not just the price. Good old fashioned service received and appreciated. Thank you.

Like many other reviewers I had been in contact with several solar companies before coming across Spectra and the difference is immediately obvious. Instead of being pushy and sales focused it's clear that Jonathan and Mike REALLY know their stuff (to whatever technical level you're interested in) and are passionate about what they do. Within the first phone call with Jonathan I was decided to go with them and they got straight on with arranging everything to fit around my reroof. Every email was responded to promptly and every deadline was met. The lads who did the install were punctual, polite and tidy and I couldn't be more impressed with my system. To top it off the price was in the bottom quarter of quotes I got and the system is much better with more panels than the other quotes. Since the install my daily electric usage including the standing charge rarely goes past 55p a day (including the days with the washing machine on several times) and I'm regularly exporting over 100kwh a week on top of everything I'm using. I wish I'd done this sooner! I'm an absolute nerd so had plenty of lengthy and detailed technical discussions with both Jonathan and Mike and every question I had was answered thoroughly. Highly recommend Spectra Solar - 12/10!

The installation team where very friendly and tidy, also considerate as on the day of install, unfortunetly, I had a family funeral to attend in the afternoon. They was accommodating, and went through all questions they would have needed answers for throughout the day all in the morning instead, explained everything. Upon my return in the late afternoon, the job was completed to high standards. Very happy I went with Spectra Solar. The lads worked so hard all day and got in completed on the same day. Customer service is great and knowledgable, any issues just ring them. They were also very competitive with the quote and reliable.

We must have spoken to 10+ companies to install our solar/battery solution. It was much harder than we thought, even though we had a system installed at a previous house so had a rough idea what we wanted. Most companies were quite sales based and you couldn't always get the answers you wanted, or you got an answer and you weren't convinced. Then we came across Spectra - I hadn't initially seen them as they weren't in our immediate area. From first contact with Spectra, Jonathan was on the phone, with technical detail, for as long as you needed, giving ideas and suggestions. There was no hard sell or sales pitch, just advice - so refreshing - and great value too. And they really knew what they were talking about. We had 5.88kW of panels installed alongside 19.2Kwh of battery storage, plus an Eddi to take some excess power to the hot tank. They turned up when they said they would, Jordan & team didn't stop all day, did a really tidy job and cleaned up after themselves. The system is outperforming the guidance output, and is giving us lots of free electricity and hot water. Since it was put in 6 days ago, we've spent about 25p on actual electric and not had to heat the hot tank with the gas boiler at all. The Lux app & web portal monitoring are excellent. Spectra are also really responsive and helpful for anything you need - a great company and would not hesitate to recommend!

I've had my 7kw, 18 panel solar installation with a 4.8kw battery and solar iboost for my hot water tank for a year now. Firstly, I chose Spectra Solar as they were so helpful and got back to me with any queries or questions I had. Their pricing was excellent in comparison to others with no pressure to sign up at all as they aren't sales people, just very helpful. My bills for both gas and electricity in 2021/22 were about £1,400 before the panels were installed. After the installation and for the year 2022/23 they have been £1,825, bearing in mind I would of paid about £2,800 (estimated, but could easily be higher), especially as the daily charge has gone up so much (about £200 for the year) as well as the cost of the electricity and gas. I include gas as the iboost helps to heat my hot water tank instead of the gas boiler, so I save on some gas. I will be getting a cheque back from what I've exported of £400 from Eon as they are now paying 16.5 pence per Kw/H. Therefore, I calculate I've saved about £1,375 in the first year, which I'm very happy with. I would highly recommend Spectra Solar. Below was my review from a year ago. I had my solar panels, batteries and iboost fitted today and it all looks very tidy and professional. Well done to all the fitters, who were very polite and got on with the job. From first sending my enquiry to Spectra Solar, Mike and Emma in the office got in touch with me straight away. I was very impressed how quickly they responded to any questions and were available to speak too. The prices on their website made comparing quotes easy, and they were better value than some other companies I contacted. After agreeing I would go ahead, they sent someone out to make sure all was ok before the system was installed. Within a short timeframe a date was arranged and they came when they said they would. It’s been hassle free and I am very pleased with the service they have provided. Well done to all at Spectra Solar, and yes, I would recommend them to anyone.

As with all the other reviewers I cannot recommend this company highly enough. Not only did they offer me the best price for the system I wanted, by several thousand pounds so it certainly pays to shop around, all the contacts I have had, and the service I have received, and continue to receive, have been nothing less than excellent. I could go on but if you're looking to fit solar panels please give these guys a call, you won't regret it.

After months and hours of investigation several firms later for Solar and battery installation we came across Spectra Solar. The in depth analysis of what solar and battery would generate for value was the best report we had received by far. Once we gave the go-a -head with no upfront charges the installation was the best quality and I'm not an easiest person to please. Well Done Spectra Solar and thanks again highly recommended, keep up the great team work.

I made a huge error in reading my solar meter due to an eye problem. The company dealt with my original enquiry professionally and I felt happy and reassured to be dealing with them. When I realised my error they again were courteous and helpful, and I will not hesitate to use them if I ever need help in the future. Such customer service needs to be mentioned even if I ended up with no work to be done. My original feeling of being happy to have found such a company is even stronger.

5 Stars for Spectra Solar From the initial contact to after sales support, Spectra Solar were absolutely 1st class. There were no pushy sale tactics, just an online quote, then it was left up to me. Jack did the design and it was spot on, no changes were necessary when the surveyor came out, so the quoted price stayed the same. The guys just got on with it but the installation was hampered by a bees nest in a chimney, no problem, they worked on the other side of the roof and came back another day early in the morning when the bees were less active. Liam did the electrical installation, it was 1st class, as an electrician myself I was impressed how neat and tidy everything was. And finally after sales support, I was helped by Johnathan to resolve a problem after Octopus Energy replaced our smart meters but got the current transformer the wrong way round. I would highly recommend Spectra Solar to anyone considering a solar system.

I had lots of quotations for a solar installation. Spectra were one of the cheapest but they also made me feel reassured due to their knowledge and experience. My system of 20 panels was installed yesterday and I can't fault their service. No salesmen so no pressure selling, this is a family run business who I believe values their customers and the quality of their work.

Excellent Service . Very efficient, approachable and helpful . From my initial phone call to installation the company did everything they said they were going to do . The surveyor was knowledgable , the scaffolders were courteous and friendly and the installation team worked hard to get the job done in a day . The team listened to all my requests and did a very neat job . I had some concerns as I have external insulation which can be delicate but this was not a problem . Jonathon has patiently answered all of my questions , Billy the scaffolder was helpful , Jordan did a really neat job and smiled all the way through and Brett and colleague worked very hard . I feel I have quite a bit to learn about how to get best value from the system as its only just been installed but to date would score 11/ 10.

Fantastic company, helpful, friendly and fair. Gave me some really good advice helping me to choose the right system for our needs. Jonathan really knows the market and had some great advice. The lads turned up on time and worked like Trojans to get the job finished. Even their scaffold subcontractor was really helpful modifying the scaffold as an extra to allow some last minute chimney works. I've now kept my original 10 year old solar panels but they re wired them to resolve a water ingress problem. Did a really neat job, finished with well fitted bird mesh protection. We also had a 15 KW battery storage installed with separate inverter allowing me to store spare solar power and also charge on cheap overnight electricity. Coupled with the EV charger they installed I am now saving an average of £8.00 per day over my old bills.

I am overall very pleased with the Solar Panel setup that Spectra Solar quoted, then fitted. Out of several quotes, they were the company that took in my requirements and were very professional throughout. The system (Solar Panels + Battery) they installed gives me near real time stats and graphs for energy consumption / generation (+ other geeky stats) on my phone + website and provides this historically too. The installation didn't quite go perfectly (the local scaffolders they used in our area cracked a tile) - however Spectra Solar followed up and ensured the tile was replaced. Overall, I would recommend this company, and the inverter they supplied (luxpowertek).

I first looked at solar when the local authority sent a flyer round. So I looked at that then got 3 other companies to quote including Spectra. Spectra were head and shoulders better with the explanation on how things worked in their quote and because they don’t employ salespeople the price was competitive and they wern’t pushy. The survey was straight forward and on time. The whole insulation took just one day. A week in to it early March I have halved my electric bill.

I did not buy from this firm. But asked them for advice about my system. I had emails and a hour long phone call, all for free, Giving me lots of advice about my system. I wish I had bought my system from this firm instead of the cowboys I used from Leeds. Who once they had my money they wouldn't give me the time of day. Getting solar and batteries installed is a big, expensive decision, so not one to be taken lightly. After weeks of research and contacting every company that would service our area, I just got a good feeling about Spectra. They were the only company that sounded like they actually knew what they were talking about and it wasn't just a salesperson who had been on a training course. I was able to ask very technical questions and get reliable answers. From first contact all the way through to installation, communication was excellent. The install day went very well. They arrived bang on time and got straight on with it. Very friendly crew who were very professional and had great attention to detail. Within a day the whole system was up and running. Even though I did have a fault with my inverter 1 week later (just a dodgy unit..which I've been told is only 1 of 3 out of the hundreds they have installed), within 48 hours of me contacting them (on the weekend) I had a brand new inverter installed within 30 minutes. No quibble, no fuss. I really cannot rate these guys high enough. Do not go with a big national company. You are just another number to them. Just had our system installed, process was smooth from start to finish, installation was exactly as expected, job is neat and tidy, electrician took time to get the cables hidden from view in a crawl space we have. Took some time to get the quote but every solar company is busy at moment and at least Spectra gave us a quote, several others wouldn't even return calls or quote. Can't fault them, thanks again!

Contacted spectra solar when looking around. I found them the easiest to deal with and offered no nonsense good advice without the hard sell. Install went ahead as promised on time no mess or dramas. Pricing was also fair and highly recommended ti talk to if your thinking of solar install.

Although we live way outside Solar Spectra's normal area, they responded very quickly to our plea for help when our inverter failed. A very professional and knowledgeable engineer arrived at the time arranged and, as requested, very efficiently changed the inverter for a better model with a longer guarantee. All working fine now.

The original installer of our system had gone out of business and I struggled to find a reliable company that could offer repairs and maintenance. Spectra installed an inverter and a set of batteries in my home. They talked through my exact requirements including the type of equipment I wanted, battery capacity etc. And the finished the whole install in under a day. Professional and friendly. Plus the kit is good quality and does exactly what I want it to do. They even spotted some problems with my seven year old solar installation (not installed by Spectra) and are fixing them as part of their install.

Spectra Solar provided a great service and fair price installing a solar pv system with battery in June 2022. Very happy with the solar generation which even on cloudy days provides ample electricity for our needs, will be interesting to see what the figures are like during winter.

Spectra solar visited me this morning to investigate my non working solar system. In less than one hour the problem was sorted. The engineer was very pleasant and very thorough, testing all the components and quickly locating the problem, which was a faulty generation metre. A new metre was fitted and we are generating electricity once more. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Spectra to anybody. The cost was very reasonable as well. I am very pleased and relieved that it didn't cost me an arm and a leg. Thank you Shaun and Emma for a great service.

Apart from some slight issues with scaffolding, out of their control, everything went as planned. Even though they were delayed by the scaffolding problem they kept me fully aware of progress and resolved all the issues. They worked later than usual to ensure the job was finished on the day. They worked hard, were very polite and cleaned up at the end of the day. Mike and Emma in the office were helpful and easy to talk to and dealt with the problems well. System is working well and feeding into the Grid and earning it's way.

Solar and batteries installed, great service from initial contact to installation. Mike was very helpful and guided me through the process and options, no pressure salesman talk. Spectra Solar was great to deal with from the initial contact all the way through to the installation of solar PV system with battery storage for our home (on both front and rear roofs). It was such a pleasure working with Mike. He always wanted us to be happy with the finished product and he worked diligently to make that happen. We approached 10 companies for quotes and Spectra Solar's represented the best value for money and was also quickly delivered (initial contact on 6th Mar 2022, installation on 13th May 2022 - would be sooner, but we were on holidays for a couple of weeks!). Mike and his contractors showed up on time, worked hard, cleaned up, and completed the work in a timely and professional manner. We are very happy with the end result, and our installation is performing very well.
