Supplied and set up a new remote key for my Jaguar. I did have a warranty issue after a few weeks, but resolved very quickly once Darren visited. The sign of a good company is its aftersales support as much as the initial sale.

Requested a call back @ 08:30 on the Website and had a call back within 5 minutes. Explained my problem to Darren with my Mini and with his fantastic knowledge he told me what he could do to fix it with a price a said they could do it the same morning. Brilliant service it was completed in half an hour at my work place and back on the road. I would recommend them as all other locksmiths in the area said they couldn’t do it and it would have to go to the main dealer!! Heads up to Darren and colleague.

Great quick service at a great price! My son locked his only car key in his boot at university with phone and wallet one evening. Locksmith turned up within 40 minutes and opened the car within a couple of minutes without fuss. Out of hours fixed price was almost half of what others were quoting online would recommend!

I had a 25 plate Transit custom Hire van. So advanced it lets you in by touching the handle but locks itself with the keys in the back. Southern Auto Locks is a person, not a call centre. Matey boy got in the front and “found a way” into the back. Exactly what I needed to get back to work. Would recommend.

First quoted £220 + vat , later called back it’s now £250 + vat so agreed to this price increase and told they would be with me later today , no show , so called them the following day and told they would chase up their key supplier and call me back . No call back 10 days later , now given up , they obviously don’t want my business , absolutely abysmal customer service .

Late evening emergency call out as my daughter locked my keys inside the car! Dean came out within an hour and sorted the issue! Quick and efficient, friendly and polite! Hopefully won’t need your service again but do recommend!

Had a shocking start to the new year my cars steeling lock broke in a petrol station luckily Alex from the RAC recommended Darren and his team they attend quickly despite being New Year’s Day they had the part on the van and within no time my car was fixed and back on the road, really pleased with the service and price I wouldn’t recommend anyone else

Darren and his team provided an excellent service. I called Darren and less than an hour later, one of his team (Josh I believe his name was), was at my house. I explained the problem, my key was getting stuck in the ignition of my Nissian Qashqai. He said he'd seen many of these issues in older Qashqai models, and proceeded to work on it. He was compete less than an hour later and the issue was fixed. The work was a reasonable price. Very happy customer and I would definitely recommend them.

My Mercedes broke down whilst on holiday in Dorset on a Saturday with a defective steering lock. One phone call to Southern Automotive was all it took for them to fully understand the problem and offer a solution. Within a few hours Darren was in attendance, with the correct part. After explaining in detail what had failed and the method of repair, he got to work. In under an hour the car was fixed, and I was able to leave for my home in Cambridgeshire. With the very quick service on a weekend, and a very fair price, I cannot recommend this company - and Darren in particular, more. 5 stars and more is fully deserved.

Darren came out to replace my key barrel, he had it fixed in half the time I expected, nice guy and saved the day for me.

This is a private house in a residential area. Visited twice to get my Transit keys sorted out. No-one there on either occasion although there was washing on the line. Wasted a lot of time with no result. It should be made clear on the website that this is a visiting auto-locksmith only with no business premises.

Called at 4.30 in the afternoon when the key got stuck in the ignition at a motorway services. Was told about 2 hours until an engineer could be there and one turned up after an hour and a half. 30 minutes later I was back on the road heading home. great service and highly recommended. thanks again for getting me going.

Darren went above and beyond to help us get a works van back on the road, due to electrical fault, over a bank holiday weekend. He also arranged for collection of vehicle to get it to a garage, via a third party. Would highly recommend 🥳

Called Friday for an emergency fix, led me on till Sunday, i made it clear i just needed it working, when they finally arrived they removed one single part, the part they had wasn’t compatible and they were not able to repair it or replace it there and then, asked me to wait 3 extra days, I explained my urgency, so denied, demanded £75 for a call out. Very poor service which has unfair business practices. Wouldn’t recommend to anyone at all. edit - I called you out on Friday? I had to book time off work just waiting for you, a total of 5 days you wanted me to wait in total. I only write this as I got someone else out within 30 mins and they completed the job as asked, slightly cheaper also. I'm just letting people know what they can expect from this company in more complex jobs.

Wowwwwww what an amazing company, very professional, on time, well skilled and know their act. I was privilege to used them and get rescued after being stranded lock out of my machine (excavator). Many lock smiths tried couldn't move a strand but when karen from southern auto Lock came, to my surprise it was open in a twinkle of an eye. I will highly recommend them anywhere. This is more than just skill but knowledge and wisdom together.

Called up yesterday evening and was told someone will contact me in the morning and find out where I was and they will come to me as I work in the community. Unfortunately wasn't the issue that was thought and a part needed to be ordered. Honestly didn't think this was going to get sorted until the following week being a Friday. We used this service following my partner getting a new car and finding out the locking system doesn't work. The company seemed proactive when first called and identified the issue quickly. However, each day that has gone past we have been promised that they will be round 'today at lunch time's or 'I will be round this evening' for them to not show up. This has caused both myself and my partner to waste days waiting around for them and our car to be unlocked on the drive way. We wouldn't mind the wait but it is frustrating to get messages saying to it will done today to then have no one show up. I looked up the company Yell to find a few people have had this issue.

I have used Darren for about 10 years and am always extremely pleased with his expert service. No job too difficult for him and he’s timely and always provides what I want.

My car key outer plastic needed replacing as the buttons had perished, took it to a well known general locksmith chain and went back to car only to realize it wouldn't start. Phoned Southern Autolocks and he knew straight away the issue, they had left the immobilizer chip in the old key shroud and thrown it away.

My ford transit decided that it doesn't like it's keys anymore and left me immobile. Southern Auto Locks fixed the barrel and recut new keys. Very polite engineer and overall great experience.

Absolutely amazing service, saved my life, having managed to lock my keys in the boot of my locked car! And the spares are at home in France… Within an hour of my call I received a superb professional who was kind and understanding and got me back on the road. A very reasonable price and an excellent service.

I dropped my car keys and the ignition key broke off the fob, I had a spare single key at home which I used in ignition trying to keep fob as close as possible to the spare key. This sometimes worked but often did not, As I had to take kids to school and pick them up , a 20 min walk in pouring rain was stressing me out. i called Southern Autolocks and Josh arrived within the hour. Not only did he programme a new key fob and laser cut the key but he told me my spare single key could be programmed too, which he did I am very happy and my blood pressure is now back to normal. It was not as expensive as I was anticipating. I was also impressed by the van inside layout. a very well equipped, clean and tidy mobile workshop. Well done Josh, thanks again

Darren from Auto Locksmith came to my rescue yesterday. Been exchanging messages while I was waiting for a part to arrive for my TT. My car had failed the MOT due to numerous lights (including ABS) permanently illuminating my instrument cluster. Within the hour, my car was fixed. Where others had failed, Darren from Auto Locksmith in Fareham had the answer. So happy to see the lights on the dash OFF, and the MOT is booked for Monday. Thank you Darren!

I can’t thank Darren enough for rescuing me! Had RAC out (also fab but couldn’t help) and was ready to give up and be towed but Darren was able to come and help. After trying to change my car key to a different case due to button wearing issue, my car wouldn’t start. I called on a Sunday morning not expecting an answer, I got an answer, very friendly and even advised me to go to someone else due to not wanting to charge me so much for call out on a Sunday! I needed the car for work and so I went to him, within half an hour my monstrosity key was a new working key, and the final price was nothing like I expected. Perfect experience with both luck and expertise combined. My car has been dead for a few weeks (probably because of my stupidity)… was thinking of getting it towed to a garage. A guy from RAC suggested me to give Southern Auto a call. Luckily the guy who came fixed my car was only 2 minutes away from where I am. I had a very worn Ford Transit key fob that had started to play up. I had looked at Google and placed Southern Auto Locks in my address book before heading to work, however, I was working in Southsea at a clients house and thought I would use a local person less than a quarter of a mile away from site, this was purely for convenience as I was in the area all day. A detailed message and photos were sent via WhatsApp, message read (blue ticks) but no reply or even acknowledgement of the message!! Once home in Havant that evening I messaged Southern Auto Locks (having put their details in my phone earlier in the day must have been an omen). Message sent at 1514, seen at 1530 and replied at 1531. This is how you focus on your customers. I had a phone call the following morning to confirm they would be attending, and was kept informed throughout the day on timeframe etc. There was a sudden change of plan and Josh called to say would I mind if he came instead of Darren enroute home, which was no problem at all. I had a call to say ‘with you in 30 mins’ and 25 mins later he had my keys in his hands and had set to work. 25 minutes on, the job was done, Josh had talked me through what he had done, that all the locks work manually and that the new blipper functioned remotely as expected. He also advised that I should to watch out as my van had dual batteries and that can occasionally cause issues with the central locking etc. I paid via card and was thrilled with the whole process, it was totally smooth and hassle free. I genuinely feel I dodged a bullet with the first company, so if you want excellent customer focus, exceptional communication and a professional quick service, then you cannot go wrong with Darren and Josh at Southern Auto Locks. Would definitely recommend them, A++++

We called Southern auto locks yesterday after a week of unsuccessfully searching for my partners van key and after two other companies came out and were unable to sort the issue. Darren said he was extremely busy but he would be able to get to us, and sure enough he turned up at around 9pm. He worked his magic and voila! What a real shame, he left my two pensioner parents sitting in the house all day under the false promise that he would mend the car…… they even called him twice to give him the opportunity to make things good and he continued with more false promises. Finally he decided to ignore calls and text and disappear on his stallion horse into the dusty future. I could write a song about this individual and his morals and principles but I just can’t be bothered 😳

Really pleased with the serviced received from Southern Auto Locks. After RAC couldn't enter my locked 2020 Skoda Octavia, they rang Southern Auto Locks and were told they would probably a couple of hours but there were a few delays where some jobs were more involved than usual. He rang me back and said he had one job before me and would be with me asap. He arrived at about 2100 and got down to unlock the car but after an hour he was struggling being a newer car than he had unlocked before. He looked up on his database what tool to use and he rang a locksmith friend. when he arrived they both worked half an hour and persevered until they unlocked it about 2300. I was quoted an amount and he kept to that amount. I was very pleased to drive it home. Thank you for perseverance and brilliant service received.

If He'd turned up on time I'd have given a higher rating. He was supposed to have been with me during the morning. I had plans for the afternoon but had to cancel. To his credit he called at lunchtime to say he'd have to make it during the afternoon instead. He eventually turned up in the evening after more phone calls. On speaking to him his reasons were down to lots of jobs and unreliable staff who'd let him down. He was pleasant and got the job done when he eventually arrived. His prices were much more reasonable than the main dealership. I feel if you use this fellow you have to be a bit patient and don't expect punctuality but he has all the gear and the knowledge to address your issues. I've tried to be as fair and honest as I can in this review.

So I had a nightmare this weekend, I drove 2 hours with my 4 kids to go camping in the Witterings. But I had lost the key to the car roof box that had the tent and all the camping gear in. After trying Timpsons and various other unhelpful people, I spoke to these guys. Now a lot of companies you would have called would have seen the ££ signs and done a call out to me and my family and charged us a lot of money to sort the problem. To me surprise, this company were an absolute pleasure, nothing but helpful and TOLD ME, it would be cheaper for me to go somewhere with the name of the type of key I need and to use the number on the lock which I knew nothing about. The chap even lined up someone I know only 25 minutes away, called him and checked he had the right blank key!! In the end only an hour of my time and £12 and I had 3 new keys and more importantly we had our weekend away. Total and utter honesty, decency and professionalism. Could have taken advantage of my desperate situation and made money for themselves, but didn't, helped me out for free! Restores your faith in human kindness experiencing something like this, would thoroughly recommend this firm, 100%!!!!

I received no luck contacting multiple auto locksmiths until contacting Southern Auto Locks. Contacted out of hours and arrived within an hour of calling. Polite, professional, and prompt. Couldn't ask for more. Recommend that you don't wash your keys, but if you do, I highly recommend Southern Auto Locks.

I contacted 3 locksmiths, the first 2 didn’t seem very professional or confident to do the job. The third company I contact were too busy but gave me southern auto locks number. The job was done as an emergency, very professional and hard working. I thought it would take a few minutes on the computer but it’s definitely not as simple as you think. 10/10 job and would recommend to anyone.

Phoned up for a problem with my car key. The lady on the phone was very helpful and managed to get me an appointment the same day. 8pm til 8.30pm the locksmith turned up at 7.30pm which I was pleased with. He had the problem sorted within 5 minutes of arrival, some soldering was needed inside the key...........edit........... Came outside today with the same problem car wouldnt lock or unlock.got a message to the person I was in contact with yesterday she said Darren would be in touch. He phoned me within an hour and a half and come out to have another look. He was here for some time trying to fix it. Came to the conclusion that something was wrong with the original key. Advised me on prices of a new key etc. I now have a separate fob as well as my car key. Excellent customer service can't reccomend highly enough. Thanks southern auto locks.

Spoke to Darren on the phone last night and he told me he would be with me at 7am.. so I set my alarm made sure I was up and all the rest of it... the bloke never turnt up. Barrel of my car broke after locking the car , remote key did not work, a local garage came out to get in with no luck( advised me to smash a window) Darren came out changed lock also sorted a new remote key with no broken glass needed to be cleared. ***The most unreliable company I have ever used - how he stays in business I do not know**** Sadly I would not recommend this company as they are completely unreliable - I say sadly as the owner is a nice man. We made an appointment for two days time at 10.30am to get a new key made/programmed. When it got to 12pm I contacted him and was told a defensive woman (who kept saying that she just worked for him and if he was late it wasn't anything to do with her) that they thought it was next week?! He turned up around 2pm and after a few hours gave up and arranged to come to my home a few days later. He did actually arrive this time at 7pm and to his credit, sat outside my house for over 3 hours until he gave up again......Reluctantly I agreed for him to try again and he asked if i was in Sunday (today). We arranged for him to arrive at 9am and as I sit here now he hasn't bothered to turn up or contact me despite me sending a text to check he was coming. So after a week of being messed around I am no further into getting a spare key cut. Common courtesy costs nothing.........

do NOT have anything to do with Darren or Southern Auto Locks, In my experience of dealing with him to diagnose and fix an suspected immobiliser problem on my 2008 Fiat Ducato van, He's massively unreliable, tells lies and fabricates work he's supposedly done. Told me of damage and problems with my vehicle that did'nt exsist and was a figment of his immagination. i could never get hold of him, doesn't return calls, voicemails, text or whatsapp (his idea) messages, etc. He told me my vehicle was moved/recovered and being worked on, when it was left on the street, unsecured with a window left open. All this happened over a period of 4 weeks, where all i got (when i could get him to answer his phone to me) was the run-a-round and more lies from Darren, at one point i didn't even know where my vehicle was and called the police to report it stolen, the money he tried to charge me was £450-£500, after exhausting all avenues to contact Darren and losing all Faith and convidence in him or his business practices, my vehicle has been taken to and is being fixed as i write this (fri 14th sept 2018) by a reputable garage for £120 inc the recovery fee (of a LWB Hi top van) to the garage. i have reported him to trading standards
