We chose this company based on their claims of providing “reliable, trusted and experienced tradesmen” and “premium end-to-end property maintenance and renovation services”. Unfortunately, our experience did not meet those expectations. What was originally presented as a six-week renovation took approximately ten weeks to complete. Throughout the project, there were repeated issues with organisation, communication, coordination and the standard of workmanship. There was no clear project schedule or consistent coordination between contractors. I frequently had to chase for updates and clarify arrangements, and on several occasions I was asked the same questions despite having previously provided clear decisions regarding items such as radiators, skirting boards and doors. There were also a number of issues with the finished work, including: • Unfinished plastering • Exposed external pipework • Excessive and untidy sealant around the kitchen and door frames • Poor grouting • Incomplete brickwork • Poor dust management, with areas requiring additional cleaning after contractors had left • No apparent final quality-control inspection Some of the photographs accompanying this review were taken after the final visit. Several of the issues shown were only identified and rectified after I raised them myself. One particularly concerning issue involved the kitchen tap and water supply. The tap was installed incorrectly, and for several weeks we experienced poor water pressure, warm water and an unusual taste. I raised these concerns on three occasions before the underlying installation issue was identified. At the beginning of the project, we were told that building control would be dealt with as part of the service. However, towards completion we were told that formal sign-off was not required and that photographs were sufficient. This was subsequently found not to be correct, and the outstanding building control requirements had to be addressed after I identified the issue myself. Despite outstanding work and compliance matters still being unresolved, we were chased for the final payment and reassured that the remaining issues would be dealt with. This included an email requesting payment while we were still awaiting confirmation regarding building control compliance. Darren was personally pleasant to deal with, but I found that concerns about the work were not always addressed as promptly or thoroughly as I would have expected from a company offering a premium end-to-end renovation service. I have previously managed a house build and therefore have experience of working with tradespeople and understanding the standard of finish expected from a professional renovation. In our experience, the organisation, communication, quality control and standard of workmanship fell significantly short of what we expected for the price paid. This review reflects our personal experience of the renovation and the service provided.

We are really pleased with our new fencing that Darren and his team did last week for us. They removed all of our wooden fence panels and posts and replaced them with concrete posts, gravel boards and new fence panels. The team were prompt, friendly and very hard working. The work was completed to a high standard and everything was left tidy. We would highly recommend The Hampshire Renovation Company to anyone. Thank you Darren.

A huge thank you to the Hampshire Renovation Company, from Holli in the office (who is super efficient) to Phil with the plumbing (who is a magician with the challenges sent his way). They have just completed works on our 400 year old house upgrading our Hot Water tanks and Cold Water tanks, dealing with pipes that are probably as old as the house, and did an amazing job converting it to a modern streamlined system. We are beyond chuffed with the result. Would highly recommend the team at the Hampshire Renovation Company, for whatever job/maintenance you need for your home, we are already booking them for further works to this very old house knowing we are in very safe hands !!
