The guy on the phone was extremely rude and defensive, laughed at me, and implied I was lying (as another reviewer mentioned, interestingly) - all round nasty to deal with which is such a shame as the first point of contact for a company.
My parents had a couple of windows replaced. Great service and very happy with the results. We will recommend Milton Glass to friends and be booking future work for the home.
Pete , very argumentative, denies there's a draught when there is. Rude , I had to tell him to leave the house. Very argumentative. Very very poor service . Don't imply im lying about failing seals on the door, when im not. Don't argue with the customer. Don't tell me to phone the office and report it as soon as it happens , when I did and have been waiting 3 weeks for the repair.
Very professional service Love the windows and the little vents will really help with the mould and now the children are safe with safety catches too. Pete ,Jack and Herbie all very professional and polite all worked really hard and tidied up there mess at the end of the day . Thank you
Had a composite front door,back door and replacement downstairs window replaced.The service was excellent , the guys were polite on time and tidied everything away after the job was done. very impressed and will use milton glass (winter road) again, especially as we had 3 quotes from different places and milton were cheaper by at least £1000.

Replacement front windows and bathroom window, an excellent service from start to finish, friendly helpfull staff in the shop, good advice and recommendations on the survey and can't fault the fitting, clean and professional job. Would highly recommend milton glass thanks for a good job.

From start to finish I can't recommend this experience enough. After receiving my quote, I was given a date of fitting. The chaps turned up early as requested, they fitted 3 windows & a front door. Very pleased with the end result, all done in 1 day. Pete, Morgan & Jack thank you ! Also left my property clean & tidy. I will using this company to replace my windows & door at the rear of my property next.

Had Milton Glass 16years ago to put in double glazing and new front door. Decided to change my front door for a composite door. Milton Glass did not disappoint, from quote to fitting my door. Brilliant workmanship by Peter who fitted my door and sorted out my back door. He was prompt on time arriving, polite, explained how the locking system worked and cleaned up all the mess before leaving. The door is excellent and fitted very professional. I would recommend Milton Glass every time.
We live near their store in Southsea so it was obvious to choose someone local as I thought pricing would be reasonable. Got them out after trying a few times ( I have been told about their paper is lost etc) got a quote after a good 10 days, with just a figure, no explanation or drawings as to how it will look, nothing. I appreciate this is an “ old -school “ company but surely prices could be broken down into a proper quote in 2025. We have got on quotes from 3x other companies and Milton Glass ultimately came in joint most expensive with it being over 30% more for windows and a composite door. All I can say is don’t be lazy and shop around as I guarantee you will get a better experience and price. They might be local but would not recommend.
We're totally over the moon with the fantastic work Pete and Lee recently completed in our property. They replaced a front door, a garage door and glass panels in the conservatory. Both men were a delight to have for a couple of days. They are super professional, extremely knowledgeable, very hard working, super friendly and put simply, two super stars at their trade! We've also enjoyed their sense of humour and as we told them when they left, they're both welcome back anytime for a cuppa and a biscuit, not to mention a laugh 🙂. I am absolutely delighted with the great work Pete and Jack from Milton Glass did recently in my flat, replacing my bay window and two other windows, as well as several other smaller jobs on-site. Both Pete and Jack are professional, very hard-working, friendly and excellent at their jobs. The quality of their work is second to none and I highly recommend them. Both grafted all day long and went above and beyond, and I am very grateful to them for everything they've done.

Very pleased with the team from Milton Glass - "Scottish" Morgan, Simon, Jack, Pete. Not the easiest job bringing four heavy sash windows up three flights of narrow stairs to my flat and taking away 4 old heavy tilt and turn windows down three flights of narrow stairs (No lift!). All done with good humour and without any complaints. Strong work ethic by a very friendly team. Tidied up as they went along. Living room clean and tidy when they left. New sash windows great. Very pleased with them. The initial survey was done without applying pressure to buy. Options very clearly explained. Overall, excellent customer service from initial enquiry to completion. Our cold, wonky old lean-to at the back of our house was desperate for a refresh. Milton Glass have been absolutely amazing at bringing our ideas to life and now we can sit in the newly converted room which is warm, dry and looks fantastic. The work was done in great time last month and Pete and Jack were so helpful, efficient and hardworking... my two young boys are their biggest fans! Thanks so much guys.
I just cannot thank Alan and all the team at Milton Glass enough for pulling all the stops out to help provide and install a new UPVC door for my elderly Dad when his locking mechanism suddenly broke on the existing door. Absolutely nothing was too much trouble for them, they really did go above and beyond for us. Big thanks also to Pete for a fantastic job installing the new door. Lovely family owned window frames etc,been here for years so they have to know a thing or two lol. Worth asking for any window job! Very knowledgeable and friendly staff. Disabled access but parking can be a bit of a pain in the neck.
Just had sash windows fitted by Milton Glass. Pete and Jack made a great job no fuss and very clean and tidy also good quality would highly recommend them. The only complain was from the fitters who said their bacon sandwiches were a little bit to crispy.

I use them to maintain my holiday caravans, it's usually the hinges that go. Milton glass come out and access the issue and come back with a fix between guests. Always good communications, good quality of work, I would recommend them.
Really good service from start to finish. The team recently installed two new units and a new French door to a fourth story apartment. They arranged the scaffold to go up and down in one day to minimise disruption to neighbours and the installation was perfect.

Simply Superb! Just had our brilliant new conservatory supplied and fitted by the Southsea branch of Milton Glass. From start to finish the customer experience could not have been bettered. Andy who measured & quoted to Pete and Morgan who actually built the conservatory were fantastic. Their knowledge, professionalism and skills are as good as you could expect from any supplier. The overall quality of the conservatory is extremely high and was suppled at a very fair price. Overall I would very much recommend Milton Glass as a great company to do business with. We had our single glazed windows replaced by Milton Glass last week and I am so glad we did. We have been putting it off for years as we thought it would be an extortionate and messy process, but Milton Glass made it so seamless. All of the staff, from the sales team to the fitters were without exception really friendly and approachable. They got back to us really quickly with a quote and the time from booking to fitting was only about 6 weeks! We were also really worried about the look of the windows when replacing old sash ones, but they look great and really blend in well even in an older style building. Really happy and would recommend the team to anyone.
We tried 3 or 4 different companies to have 3 windows replaced, and all of them let us down after giving us quotes. Milton Glass turned up to give us a very reasonable quote and at the time and day they said they would, then followed up by actually fitting our windows (it was a week later than the estimate but that's fine by me). I couldn't be happier with the work and quality of the windows. The 2 guys we had fitting them were professional and worked really hard to get the work done in one day - even with the wind and rain. I'd thoroughly recommend Milton Glass, I wish I'd gone to them in the first place and saved myself a lot of time and frustration, plus they are a local company which is always better than using one of the big names. 5*

I have used Milton Glass’ services several times over the last few years. The staff have always been very friendly and efficient. From the initial visit to completion of fitting has generally taken 6-8 weeks. All works done to a high standard and site left clean and tidy. The vertical sliders operate perfectly and look great. Would highly recommend.

Had a quote to have some single glazed windows replaced with double glazing. After agreeing to the price the windows were measured incorrectly. The original lead time was 4 weeks, after 12 weeks of no response eventually a date was agreed. Upon fitting one of the windows was the wrong size. Several weeks later the work was complete although the fitter admitted it was still not the correct size and was likely to be the original window. We are awaiting FENSA certification but all communications are being ignored. Would not recommend

After phoning multiple times before the phone was answered it was quite clear they were not interested in my business. Very dismissive.
Awaiting a call back with quotes and a third call back request member of staff taking message still no call back very disappointing.
Sadly a complete waste of time. We needed glass cut and fitted with a cat flap for our door so wanted to use and support a local company but we had a very poor experience with Milton Glass. Unfortunately they fall utterly short on communication and customer service. Conversations began in August and we had them round for measuring but afterwards, all responses were very delayed and we had to constantly chase - something we hate doing! Each time I was told someone would be in touch, then I would not hear anything. I got the impression each time that they had forgotten about the job. After dropping off our cat flap for fitting, it took 5 weeks with no updates before they contacted us to book it in and then after all that, on the day of the work they did not show up. I had to call at 5pm to find out what was going on and if they were coming as my partner had come home from work early and waited in, and was told that our glass broke on the van in the morning with barely an apology. I appreciate these things happen but somebody could have let us know. I emailed to let them know of my disappointment but I was understanding and asked to have it re-booked in 2 weeks time, to which I never received a response, despite the fact I was told the glass would be re-ordered ‘urgently’ and they still had our cat flap. It’s now November and embarrassingly we had to go back in and ask for it back and have now taken our business elsewhere. Fully understand that Covid measures can impact on workplaces so I am not sure if it was that, or whether our job was too small for them or they were not interested in it (from similar reviews it doesn’t seem to be the case) but if we had just had communication from Milton Glass we would have been completely understanding however the end result is that we felt ignored and forgotten about, and have ultimately wasted almost 3 months. * edit as cannot respond to below response from owner- Thank you for your response. It’s good to finally have some answers behind this - however had anyone, at any point, explained to us the below, then we would of course had understood and probably been quite happy to wait. Nobody told us that this cat flap was an issue with the glass and I specifically emailed over the cat flap before purchase to check it would work - the response ‘that’s fine’. It’s a big shame that the only time we receive this sort of communication is after all of the above and this explanation comes too little too late as at no point of our order were we ever contacted to let us know the process was delayed or broken. I had to call to chase each time and the only time I was ever given any information was when I was told the glass had broken and I didn’t even get an apology (even though I do understand, such is life with glass this could happen!). I completely understand Milton Glass’ point to defend what their side is as there is always two sides to the story however at no point did I ever tell anybody that we would contact once we were back from holiday (in fact I specifically said we were only on holiday for the next week), and nobody contacted me to tell me the unit was ready, so that is either a lie or somebody in the office has misconstrued this and communicated it back incorrectly. The only time I have been told the unit is ready, is right now. IN ANY EVENT, I emailed to re-book the date for 2 weeks time when I was informed it had broken, so I had specifically done what Milton Glass say they were waiting for and they did not reply. Even if I hadn’t contacted them, if I had something sat on my desk for 5 weeks at work I would, out of courtesy give the customer a call just to let them know. When I arrived to collect the cat flap I explained that we had dropped it off 2 months & not heard anything, & still yet at this point I had no apology or questioning, just handed the cat flap back. If the below had been explained then, things might have been different. It's good to hear that it’s not a case of job too small or uninterested however and we thank you for your belated explanation.
A window at our rental property was broken (not sure how) so phoned Milton Glass and they did the quote that morning - phoned with a quote and fitted as soon as the double glazed unit was ready. Thanks for the excellent local service.
I contacted you to replace some glass in my front door, as you had done before.... but even before you took a couple of months to actually do the work. My landlord had to get at you persistently for the job to be done! When the guy came to do the job he was rude and behaved like I was a nuisance to him. However when i needed another plane replaced I contacted yourselves and was promised a call back which never happened. I called repeatedly, which i found embarrassing to do so and still had no correspondence. I had to call another company to do the job, which they did in a friendly and professional manner.. unlike the experience from yourselves.... hence my review. Funny it's taken a huge amount of time to respond to my star rating!!!!

Please update your opening hours. Came over from Gosport as it says you are open until 3pm on a Saturday. Arrived at 1.10pm to find the shop in darkness. Waste of time.

Very strange company.....emailed them for a quote for a glass splashback, got an email back the next day from the area manager Andy Meade stating "Sorry out of our area" The website clearly stated our area was covered. Glad I didn't get a quote from them to be honest.
Very disappointed. Called up to ask if someone could come round to provide me a quote and I was told they don't have any salesmen and it's the fitters who come round and do the quotes. I told him I would be home from 6.30 or about at the weekend and I was told they finish at 5pm. No flexibility or willingness to try and work around me and he almost put the phone down as soon as I said 6.30. If you want more business I'd suggest being a bit more flexible to those who do not work in Portsmouth. Other major suppliers will come round at 6.30 in the evening but I wanted to support a local business (learnt my lesson).
