This is the second full house rewire that Matt has done for me. Obviously the first one was exceptional hence I used him again and he didn't disappoint. We used Matt to upgrade a consumer unit, require all sockets and appliances as well as to install new downlights and also LED lighting in our kitchen renovation. His quality was amazing and he offered great advice on the best place to have the lighting as well as suggestions for switches and sockets etc. He clearly thinks about projects as if they’re at his own home and works to the highest standards. Thoroughly recommend and will use him for all future work also!

This is the second time I have used Matt’s services. He came out really quickly to look at a broken bathroom light and was honest about the fact that it was a simple fault, caused by a switch wire that had not been connected properly. He fixed the problem and did not charge. I would not hesitate to recommend Matt to anyone, especially female or elderly customers who can sometimes (in my experience) feel unsure. Thank you Matt!

Matt has been our go to electrician for around 12 years now, for a few different houses, and we wouldn’t use anybody else. He always shows up and on time too, his communication is second to none, he’s very reasonably priced and he gets the job done to a very high standard. He works quickly but professionally, he’s very tidy and respectful and I would highly recommend him for all electrical needs.

I recently had the good fortune of asking Matt to quote on a complete rewire for me, on what was formally an old commercial building in Newport, that I was converting to my new home. Considering the terrible state of the building and the scale of the rebuild, Matt turned up and provided me, with what turned out to be a VERY competitive and professionally presented quote (which I readily accepted) and …following the initial 'first fix'...he proceeded to make himself available to me telephonically as the rest of the project developed painstakingly over the course of the following year. When the building inspector informed me near the end of the rebuild that I had inadvertently left off the all important smoke and heat detectors from my rather extensive wish list of all things 'bright & shiny', it turned out that the ever conscientious Mr Gardner had already taken it upon himself to spec them all, hard wired and interlinked...a measure of his level headed and pragmatic approach to (it appears) everything he does in life. Matt has not only been 'on call' for advice ..and 'on site' whenever he said he would be, but as a consummate professional he leaves nothing to chance, adding value at every turn, and its a pleasure to simply add my review alongside the many other satisfied similar clients already posted here. Lovely man, and tidy worker. We needed an electric certificate for house sale. He corrected the faults in the wiring and explained the process throughout. Reasonable rates. We have put him in our keep pile of people to fix things.

I contacted Matt after moving into a new property that required a new fuseboard, numerous additional sockets and also needed corrective work to several elements of defective and dangerous wiring previously done by a DIY installer. Matt turned up when he said he would and provided a detailed quote for the work I requested. He went on to complete all the work to a high standard. Some of the faults did not appear straightforward and this is where hiring someone with Matt's many years of experience seemed to really pay off as he quickly identified and solved issues. Matt was extremely polite and professional in his conduct and unlike some trades people I've encountered Matt had a real 'can do' attitude. I would not hesitate to recommend him or use him again in the future.

We've used Matts services a couple of times, once for a renovation and once for some wiring updates. On both occasions we had a quote and he spent time explaining what would be done. Returned from a few days away to the upstairs lights constantly tripping a fuse. Self diagnosed the bathroom extractor fan as the culprit due to the audible fizzing. One of Matt's guys arrived the next day as agreed and replaced it and the pull cord to a very tidy standard. No complaints at all. 10/10 Service.

Update: Helped us out when we were in need. Without going into too much detail, we had some issues with another electrician (Matt was booked up at the time), and he'd left us in a pickle. I phoned Matt and he guided us through what we needed to do, and offered us really high quality advice on the job that had been done by someone else. Really impressed and hopefully can use Matt directly next time. Had a new fuse spur fitted for an electric cooker (replacing a gas one). Matt was over £100 cheaper than the previous quote and couldn't fault his professionalism. We were out so we left our keys with him; we returned home to find the house spotless and a new cooker in fine condition! Refreshing change from tradesmen who like to leave a mess! Matt recently installed spot lights my bathroom, new extractor fan, shaver point and external light switch and repaired a couple of mains sockets in other parts of the house, nothing was too much trouble, Matt clearly knows he stuff! He was polite and courteous, worked non stop from the minute he arrived to when he left and cleared up any mess. We initially contacted Matt for an electrical socket repair, Matt answered promptly, gave us a fair priced quote and we booked an appointment the following week. Matt came out and found that there was no fault and that we didn’t turn the power switch on (embarrassing I know). Matt was very kind and didn’t charge us. Would definitely use Matt again in the future, he is friendly, fair and responsive.

Matt and his team did a full re wire on a property I had just brought, including spot light and fan installation in the bathroom. Matt couldn’t have been more accommodating. With an unsafe property, a toddler and house completion date changing last min Matt and his team really came to the rescue. Both him and Pete worked on the house and did an excellent job! Would defiantly recommend!

Matt was recommended to us by a friend when we needed to replace our old fuse box in the garage. It wasn’t an easy job due to lots of wires and fuse boxes for heating and solar panels. Matt replaced the fuse box in a day and did a fantastic job at a very reasonable price. We would highly recommend Matt as a good electrician and we will definitely use him again.

We couldn't have asked for a better service and the price is as competitive as it gets for the high level customer service and workmanship. I try and take care of most common repairs around the house but when it comes to electrical work I would prefer to leave it to the pros. Matt carried out a number of jobs at my house, mainly outdoor work involving fitting new external lights, extending power sockets in the garden and shed and installing a power point in my greenhouse. He was professional and friendly at all times. Everything was done to my satisfaction and he made sure that all jobs were what I required, even coming back to change two of the outdoor lamps that would not function as I wanted. Matt installed a 3 phase forklift charger at our storage warehouse today.
