YKB Electrical responded to an emergency call out for us. Response time was excellent, contact was made within 5min of messaging and within an hour someone was with us. We had a sudden electricity loss in part of our property as it turned out due to a faulty extension lead. I expected to pay a professional fee for hiring an electrician, but the technician arrived and didn’t carry out any real checks — he just said my room lighting was broken. After I mentioned it might be a wiring issue, he only started to check manually when I asked him to. He then said may be a neutral fault and would need more time to investigate. After spending about 30–45 minutes, he still couldn’t identify the exact problem and said he’d need to return another day, but couldn’t estimate how many hours it might take. This made me doubtful about the diagnosis and the potential cost if I continued with more work. That’s why I asked for a discount, as I was really disappointed with the service. Overall, I was not satisfied with the service and would not recommend based on my experience.

I was very pleased with Fiaz and his apprenticeship. They did a very good job taking my ceiling light fittings down and replacing them with pendant/rose due to moving house. Fiaz from YKB Electricals came to my rescue the other day when my house alarm would not switch off following a power cut. He was able to attend very soon after I had called him and I am extremely grateful to him for his calm, efficient response to the problem which was stressful to say the least. I cannot speak highly enough of Fiaz who was very courteous and professional throughout. His charges were so reasonable especially as he came after hours and this was much appreciated. An excellent professional service.l contacted Fiaz regarding a faulty fusebox which had left me without heating and most of the circuits not working. He came within 1 hour and fixed a new fuse box and my problem was quickly resolved. I would greatly recommend him for his skill efficiency and politeness.
Very unreliable. This is the first time we've had to deal with this. Fiaz didn't turn up the first time and neither did he let us know. I've had to chase it up with him which he then said he will come today. Again we had to chase him up and he confirmed that he was coming after 3pm but he didnt turn up and won't pick up calls. His explanation was 'im in a meeting call you ASAP', THEN HE DIDN'T. We constantly messaged and rang him waiting for him till 8pm at night. Not once did he apologise for his unprofressionlism. He just replied 'Thursday now'. Then I tried to ring him again it was going to voicemail. My mother rang from her number and he picked up then abruptly said ' I've told you I've had a terrible day' to which my mother responded 'this is the second time?' and then hangs up on my mother. We had to take time off work twice and was not told or explained to. If Fiaz couldn't do it then he could've let us know and told us so we could arrange another electrician. We gave him benefit of doubt but he's dealt with it in an appalling way. It's unreliable. Fiaz could've had common courtesy to let us know or tell us he can't do the job which wasn't even major. I'm very disappointed

I've just had excellent service from YKB. I can't speak highly enough of them. I contacted them at 17.30 on New Year's Eve with no electricity to my apartment. I had almost given up hope of getting it fixed during the holiday. Their service was professional, efficient and friendly. Arrived when they said they would, quickly diagnosed the problem, and were very patient when there was a delay in providing access to what they needed. All things considered a first rate job! Without a doubt YKB will be my first port of call when I need an electrician in future.

What a joke, came back several times but could not finish the work, infact he left me in a position where I had a six month old and couldn't even put the washing machine on without the power tripping everytime ( He thought this was acceptable). When he did turn up he was late, or just left early without doing much, one day he just didn't turn up, when I called to see why he said it was his birthday so he was having the day off .. He made a mess and didn't clear up after himself. When he stopped coming back, we got another electrician in to finish the work, he told us that the fuse box he had installed was actually dangerous!! Definitely would not recommend! And yes Fiaz it was you that did the work in Sheffield!!

We needed a faulty socket replacing for a washing machine that sits under our kitchen sink and Fiaz from YKB came and advised on replacing with a new socket with protective casing. Fiaz also removed a moulded plug from my tumble dryer so we were able to feed cable through back of kitchen cabinets to utilise another plug socket and he then fitted a new plug. Would use YKB again as gave good advice, kept you up to date re arrival time and work described above was completed as agreed. A pleasure to deal with.

Avoid this contractor at all costs. We gave him two large contracts for some electrical work in 2 large Houses in Multiple Occupation and he took forever to start the work (over 2 months) then simply would not respond to our communications (email, texts and WhatsApp). His is so frustratingly awful. Please avoid.
I have had to but this on here as I feel really let down I had this company out to do me a quote I did nothing but chase this person did the quote and them that was it promises me he would be on site one day no show called him no response told me he would be on site again and once again nothing I have text called with no reply very poor service would not recommend at all sorry but that's wat happens when u let people down

Great service - All our lights and sockets were out upstairs, and Fiaz came the same morning, found the source of the problem quickly and replaced a burnt out switch near the main fuse board. Really pleasant bloke, talked me through what he was doing and gave us some tips to avoid problems in the future. He stayed for a lot longer than he had to to make sure it was all sorted and charged the perfectly reasonable standard call out fee. We'll definitely be going with YKB again if we have any more issues.

First thing first, he was prompt with the time added with excellent service with cherry on top was fairly priced. I have property with to many two-way switches and some thing was gone wrong with connection and the started puzzling on me, Fiaz turn up and solved the problem nicely. I just mentioned to him how we could have done with someone to fit us some upgraded LED lights in our garage and had been let down two times previous by other electricians. Fiaz took one look at our lighting and within 30 minutes provided us with a quote that beat any other we had previously been given. Soon after that Fiaz arranged to a time to do the installation that would suite our busy work week. On the day of installation Fiaz and his helper turned up early and I left them to do their job. Within 5 hours I had a call to tell me the entire job was complete. When I came to see the finished product it was absolutely perfect! Thank so much guys you’ve done an excellent job! Failed to show up for his job after date and time Set. Double checked day before that job was a go. Fiaz confirmed. I was sent a WhatsApp message on the day saying he would be an hour late. FOUR and a HALF hours LATER I get a text blaming car issues for not showing up. I called throughout the day but no answer. I took the day off work as well. Wasted my time. MASSIVE let down!

We were renting our house out while abroad when our guests (a mum with 4 children including a baby) had an electrical issue with the RCD tripping, meaning she was left without hot water or any functional downstairs appliances.
