Steve did extensive electrical work for me recently on my old Edwardian-era house. He installed a completely new socket circuit (on its recommended own circuit breaker) for a first-floor large bedroom, containing a mixture of normal and various types of USB double sockets, while also safely disconnecting some old redundant sockets and wiring in the same room. All his work was of very high quality, with new sockets being located exactly where I required them, and safe provision made for an extra socket in a future fitted wardrobe. He negotiated the tricky challenge of bringing new power up to the first and second floors without impacting old coving and house features with great skill and ability, using external ducting which was a very neat and tidy job. At the same time, Steve also installed an external Ring security light/camera over the front door on its own separate spur circuit, patiently helped me to set up communications with it from my phone app. I am now very pleased with this additional security feature for the house! Steve also installed a new circuit breaker and double socket for the second storey level. Steve is a very skilled, knowledgeable, approachable and tidy electrician and I would not hesitate to recommend him for any electrical work. I already plan to have him back when I am ready to complete electrical work on the top house floor next year, if I can get some of his very valuable time then 😊

Exceptional service from Steve who came out to give a quote and gave us our options. Once we hired him, He was incredibly thorough and worked hard to keep to time. Though he was fast, his work didn’t feel rushed, and as he was doing error checking before replacing the consumer unit, he kept us apprised as issues came about. So grateful he was able just to problem solve to get us what we wanted - a bathroom extractor fan and safe wiring in our house. We’ve had a number of tradespeople over recently who felt compelled to tell us their life stories and political views. Steve was absolutely not like this. He wore a mask, kept his social distance and didn’t interrupt us. He was also incredibly tidy and kept the house clean as he moved around it. We felt so comfortable that on the day he turned off the electricity fully, we left him alone at the house all day with a key. Fast and professional service. All work undertaken was checked out to make sure it met standards and very clear on requirements. Good advice given to help. Replaced a bathroom light and fan and installed three additional sockets and fixed another one. Reduced the quote as it hadn't taken the time thought. Never had that before. Would highly recommend.

We got Steve in to move some sockets and fit some new ones but he soon discovered that we needed a complete lighting rewire which he carried out very professionally and with minimum disruption. He also inadvertently discovered the source of a leaking pipe which we had been puzzling over for months so we will forever be grateful to him for that! On a recent garage conversion to a garden room/office we contacted Steve at Arc Electrical having been let down by another contractor. Steve responded very quickly and supplied a very reasonable and detailed quote within a couple of days. This included advice on how the job should be carried out which included improving the electrical supply and running a separate cable for a car charger. Steve Howe is one of the most meticulous and conscientious tradesman I have come across. His standard of workmanship is high and he worked extremely hard when rewiring our kitchen to achieve this.
