Feels very untrustworthy. Spoke to a lady who says she works for Tony. We called advised it would be £180 for the hour, we felt this is too much - we were then told it could be £144 if we go for a less urgent call out but no clear pricing on how much the whole job could be.. then told we could go for a £50 call out fee instead. When giving the address and name we got a message AI on WhatsApp. Overall intuition felt it was all a bit dodgy - on reading recent reviews the owner responses to similar posts advise that he doesn’t charge for a quote.. We have not gone for this company as pricing and overall experience above has not been good and felt unclear.

Just called and been told they’d get someone to me but it’s £180 an hour to give a price!! I think this company has either been hacked or completely lost the plot! Done some digging and this is a scam. Registered office is in Devon and his Google ad was paid for by a company in Albania. You’ve been warned do not call.

Important message for all the readers, please don't waste your £50 for quotation to this company, it’s not worth it, they give you very unrealistically high quotation . I have got proof that I pay £50 by bank transfer to that person.

Great bloke, really friendly, came round to sort the shower out at very short notice, fantastic work and left it really tidy, even sorted out some other little issues while here, I would highly recommend and will definitely be using him again

Called with an emergency 🆘 at 7am with leaking electrical boiler to be advised it would call out cost £264 but will arrive inside 1HR. Two hours later return call was from a different mobile, telling me guys van broke down. Suspicious that anyone would have ever come. Reading 271 reviews it appears Tony is a superhero who can fly across the skies of UK!!

Unclear pricing and disappointing customer service I contacted this company to enquire about getting an electrician out to investigate an electrical fault at my property. I was told the cost was £180, but I was not clearly informed that this was an hourly rate of £180 per hour. I only understood the situation when I specifically asked for clarification. Had I been told upfront that the charge was £180 per hour, I would not have considered booking the service. I appreciate that electricians have professional costs, but customers should be given clear and transparent pricing before making a decision. An hourly rate of £180 is a significant expense, and people need to know exactly what they are agreeing to, particularly when they are already dealing with unexpected household problems. I decided not to proceed because I simply cannot justify that cost. My disappointment is with the lack of clarity around the pricing, which left me feeling that I had not been given the information I needed to make an informed decision. I would encourage the company to be much more transparent about its charges from the very beginning.

Tony came out within minutes in the evening when we had a broken water pipe and water was gushing everywhere. In the meantime he explained what I should do to cut the flow - saved a lot of stress and I’d totally recommend him.

What a brilliant find electrician Tony, and apprentice Jude are. When assessing the job Tony explained how things would be undertaken and answered our queries patiently. Booked an electrician using this number and was followed up with several phone calls from a mobile number telling me different things in regards to times and prices so decided to cancel (within 15 minutes of booking). Was met with a hostile woman threatening me that the electrician was coming to my house regardless and he would be demanding a £150 cancellation fee. She went on to threaten me with police action if I refused to pay this. Very intimidating and unpleasant. This company has lots of positive reviews and I don't know if it has been intercepted with a scammer but I was quotes over £250 for work that cost £60 when I hired another electrician along with several threatening phone calls.

This is a scam,you call then they call back 3 times within 10 minutes with different prices and when you tell them you are no longer interested because of this they threaten you with police if you don't pay a cancellation fee,total scam service

This is not a local small business, this is a company that subcontracts work out to electricians on their books. They're not even based in the UK theyre an Italian company. TJ Reynolds doesnt exist.

Tony as absolutely brilliant. He came to help us as an emergency call out due to water pouring through our hall ceiling from a slow leaking bath in the flat above and installed emergency lighting and a smoke alarm. When all dried out he fitted new lighting and installed new smoke alarm (as old fittings were badly corroded). He is a very quick and efficient electrician and an extremely pleasant, professional and very helpful guy. The work was fare priced and I would certainly recommend him.

A friend recommended Tony to me after several other electrians failed to call me back. I phoned him about a shower problem, he was just finishing a job nearby so popped in to have a look soon after. He explained everything he was doing as he was checking cables, fuses and the shower switch ect. The new part I needed to fix it was in his van. Tony and his apprentice were very polite, efficient and reliable. I would use them again and recommend them. 🙂

I honestly couldn’t recommend Tony and his apprentice highly enough. Today we had a complete power outage at home and, excuse the pun, I’d been sent around the houses trying to get it sorted Tony and his apprentice arrived and couldn’t have been more professional, calm, efficient and genuinely helpful. Zero stars would be appropriate. Specific request for particular time one specific date, middle of the day, for house sale docs. Then cancelled with less than 1 hour to go after we had sent somebody for a 45 minute drive to meet them. Totally and completely unacceptable.

It was a delight to meet Tony, who is clearly very knowledgeable and thorough in all aspects of his work. Assessed the situation quickly, gave really important learning that I benefitted from and solved the issue . I would have no hesitation in recommending Tony and his company for future work.

I rang for an immersion thermostat. I bought myself I installed it then I had a guy from here who charged me £264 Made me pay cash sent me a tax invading receipt. When you call the company, they put the phone down on you Please, please, please don’t get scammed by this company. They are connected with Direct 24 as well they are a scam company.

Excellent service. I phoned and Tony was here within the hour and sorted my lighting problem in under an hour.

**Do not use this company** The call centre staff were extremely rude and unhelpful. I called to get a quote and was told they would send someone out straight away and that I would be charged £50. I explained that I didn’t realise they were a national company that uses subcontractors, as their advertising gives the impression that they are a small local business. I asked them **not to send anyone** as I had only called for a quote. Despite this, I was told that someone was already on their way and that I couldn't cancel. Very poor customer service and a very misleading. I would not recommend using this company.

I called to make an appointment with an electrician but I hadn't realised my partner had already booked someone else. I called to cancel and they said that was fine but 20 mins later I had a call to say the electrian was on their way. I said I had cancelled and the operator was immediately very rude with me and demanded I cancel the other electrian which I wasn't going to do as they were charging less than half the price. After telling me several times to cancel and why wouldn't I cancel I said I wasn't going to have that conversation with her, she replied with "no, I'm not having that conversation" and she hung up on me.

Immediate and professional response to initial phonecall (not found with others contacted). Charges clearly outlined before booking a call out within the next 3hrs- very reassuring when no power and just needed help. Lovely Tony arrived on time, identified the problem, and took time to explain and reassure in case of any further issue. Would certainly not hesitate to recommend, and keep this contact for the future.

They sent someone from a different company name( they clearly know each other ) , to avoid taking responsibility from the horrible service they provide. Absolutely disgusting customer service. Quoted me £264 for a call out firstly and I wanted to first confirm with the homeowner if that was within budget. After saying "I will call you back to confirm" I was then insulted saying that I was a waste of time and not a serious customer. I was then patronised about if I understand or not that its a Sunday and they may not be available later, even though they claim 24/7 service, you do the maths. Regardless if they have no respect for potential clients they wont have respect for you. AVOID!

We first used Tony when he installed all the electrics for our new kitchen and we were extremely impressed with his work. Tony was very patient in explaining the different lighting options and advising us on the best positioning for sockets and switches. Nothing was too much trouble and he took time to make sure everything was exactly as we wanted. He has always been especially professional and reliable, turning up when he said he would and leaving the room clean and tidy at the end of each day. I live 250 miles away and I randomly picked this company from Google. I am so glad I did, I spoke to Jamie and explained the emergency I had in Devon for my mum, Jamie went out of his way to visit mum and tried to sort the problem. Called to ask for a quote, was told without even asking for a price how much the quote was gonna be “I’m not doing a free quote” and hung up. Not great customer service experience.

Tony came to our Chalet at Bovisands and replaced plugs which were faulty. He did an excellent job.

Tony deserves a medal! Within 2 hours of calling with a faulty socket to my washing machine, floor damage by the Hotpoint engineer and a catalogue of disasters, he was on my doorstep! Extremely polite and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. He went above & beyond and explained everything he was doing in detail and even provided me with a detailed report on his findings. Phoned the company for an electrician and one arrived within 40 minutes. The electricians name was Mick who was very courteous and punctual. He diagnosed the problem and gave me good advice . He also checked the electrical appliances and advised me to pull the plugs out when not in use. He was very kind and easy to get on with and I am sure a credit to the company.

We needed an emergency out of hours call out and Tony was with us an hour after calling. Super friendly and knowledgeable and sorted our issue with speed and professionalism. Hi, I am writing this review, as I feel the owner of this business (Tony I presume) is being scammed himself, and I genuinely believe his business has been 'hijacked' by a fradulent operation. So I hope he gets this and can look into it/contact Google to see if the issue can be resolved. When I called his number as provided on Google today it prompted me to dial 4 to connect the call and then it rang with a different tone, before being picked up by a lady who was difficult to understand and there was alot of unpleasant background noise. After she took down my details, address and electrical problem and she advised that she would need a £50 call out fee to go and assess the requirements for the job and someone could be at the address in 30mins. It was an immediate red flag and a few more questions made me realise it wasn't a genuine operation. So Tony, if you read this I hope you can get this sorted and hopefully your customers can get in touch again soon! All the best.

We are a B&B and due to some (with hindsight) ill-advised DIY I managed to remove WiFi, lighting and all sockets for our Guests. Tony came to the rescue and fixed my problems quickly and neatly. Highly recommend!

Weird telephone scam. Told me someone would be there 30-60 minutes. Then called back to say can had broken down and was going to be another hour. Then cut me off when I tried to call back on both numbers. So we wasted 2 hours before having to call someone else.

I'm so disappointed and angry with my experience of calling TJ Reynolds on Saturday afternoon because my tenants had no electrical power, as the circuits kept tripping whenever they plugged any appliance into the wall. Calling up, an operator said they'd send an electrician out and the call out fee would be £60. They said (and I should have seen this as a red flag) that the contractor would advise me of the hourly rate when they arrived. The electrician arrived 15 minutes later, and then told me the rate would be £210 per hour. Through gritted teeth I agreed. He then spent four hours trying to fix the problem, mostly giving the impression he didn't know what he was doing. Eventually we managed to get power working again in the kitchen and we thought the problem had been solved. The electrician (from Azu Electrical Ltd) asked for payment, and said it would be £60 plus four hours at £220 PER HOUR. I told him that's not what we agreed. Wanting this over, I paid £940; he'd asked for bank transfer there and then and wouldn't leave until the money had reached his account. My bank initially flagged the transaction as suspicious and held up the money, so he wouldn't leave. When he eventually did, after I'd persuaded him the money was on its way, we later discovered the problem hadn't actually been fixed and the sockets in the rest of the house were still not working. TJ Reynolds give the impression they're a small (one man) firm but they appear to be based in Torquay (192 miles from me) and they sent out a contractor from another, local company. The charges appear to be so high because TJ Reynolds are taking a large cut of what's paid. I'm scarred by this experience.

Absolutely a first class experience. Phoned at 13.30hrs on Saturday with a broken toilet pan due to a fall on it by my 94 year old father. Tony arrived at 14.25 assessed the job and proceeded to Torquay to get a replacement and it was all fitted very quickly and very professionally. they lied about the price. said only the ecall-out fee and did not mention the contactor's price for the 1 hour investigation. AVOID. also the contractor they sent was very rude and did not want to leave our house without being immediately paid while refusing to give an electronic invoice prior to payment.

We had a complete power failure at 6pm on a bank holiday Sunday. They were with us within an hour and provided a logical solution to get us back up and running. Very professional attitude and explained every detail of the work required. Would thoroughly recommend.

Agreed to £60 call out but was told it would be £260 to fit a new light switch..( value of switch under £10) was not prepared to pay that money. I offered £150 max but they would not fit. £60 lighter and wiser.

I was charged a very high amount for replacing a switch in the fuse box, but the electrical issue remained unresolved afterwards.

Very disappointing service. The leaking toilet was not repaired properly, and the issue continued after the visit.

We've had multiple electrical jobs done by Tony from wiring for a new bathroom, fitting of garage electrics and an emergency call out for a dangerous dodgy switch, all of which were completed meticulously well, his work his absolutely first class and is lovely to have around. We can't rate him highly enough and will definitely be getting him back for future work.

100% scammers - beware. My partner called them to unblock a drain. Pressured her into emergency call out even when she explained it's not urgent. Said they'd arrive early evening, when late claimed they were picking up a part. Eventually a guy turned up, claiming he was stuck in traffic (at 9pm). Quoted over £400 for a sink drain unblock. When I said (over the phone) it's clearly a scam the guy argued and wouldn't leave until I said tell him to leave and call the police if he doesn't. This is a single woman, alone at night. Quote came from T J Reynolds Electrical Contractors Ltd - obviously scammers. Note the other negative reviews where they're threatening to sue people for defamation: avoid at all costs. P.S. *please* try to sue me for defamation, I absolutely dare you

Don't usually give top marks but this is different. Called first thing this morning and Sid was here very quickly. Job was fitting two lounge lights but I couldn't work it out. Job was a difficult one as the previous owner had done a very bad job. Totally tested both lights and both switches and made the circuit safe. Excellent job by a very professional and friendly chap. Would not hesitate recommending Sid to anyone with electrics needing done or fixed. Well done.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!! They prey on the vulnerable and needy and are very clever at manipulating you in to thinking they are good honest men but they are scammers. £600 down and still no answers. They told us they would be back the next day to jet wash our pipes as urgently needs doing and their office will ring us with a quote. The office quoted us 1000!! We declined and he immediately dropped it to 600. We called dyno rod for a quote for jet washing a pipe who said it cost £180. Absolute scammers not even sure they no anything about pipes. Should be ashamed of theirselves and of course wouldn’t refund any money.

Came relatively promptly and kept us updated as to delay/ arrival. But quoted £580 for diagnostics and then halved it. Felt it was a bit of a pantomime so we said no thanks. Fixed it ourselves shortly afterwards. Draw your own conclusions

Got to my house very quickly and made the leak I had coming through the ceiling safe, checked the electrics to make sure they were safe as well. A bit pricey but as it was short notice on a Sunday it was expected. Highly recommended.

Tony came to quote for a bigger job (which we have booked him for) but a couple of days later we had a sudden problem with our oven. He came really quickly and isolated it all until we could get it repaired. He then came back and reconnected it for the repair man to test. I had no power , boiler did not fire , no TV , no hot water so had need to call out Tony late one evening. He arrived promptly as said @ 8.30pm. He was polite, professional and talked me through what he was doing explaining what he was looking for. My RCD was faulty and may need a new fuse box as those RCD’s are not available any more☹️. He managed to improvise and connected me so that I had hot water, TV some sockets working so could use microwave, coffee machine and more importantly I did not lose anything from the freezer either. Excellent, professional electrical engineer. I whole heartedly recommend him . Harish
