We have a rental property in Marazion. I was notified the toilet flush was continually running and I was unable to come and look at it myself. I phoned one plumber and left a message but no response. I then tried Davey & Gilbert and a very polite individual answered the phone, took details and sent in a Plumber to deal with the problem. I was advised of cost and the plumber phoned me when at the property and got authorisation to fit new parts, which he had on the van. Everything sorted and fully repaired. We had a problem with our boiler where the heating and hot water should’ve been on (no error messages etc) on the boiler screen and yet nothing was working! Jason spent time on the phone to us going through it all and then kindly sent the lovely Dan to our place to sort it. It was pouring with rain and Dan was outside fixing the boiler issues with no complains! He was super patient when our dog was barking and genuinely a really kind and friendly chap! Both Jason and Dan were clearly knowledgable of their field and really helped us! Dan fixed the issue and we are now lovely and warm! Great company, great people!

I cannot recommend Davey and Gilbert highly enough. They look after all our plumbing and boiler systems at Chapel House in Penzance, and they have been consistently outstanding. They are always friendly, incredibly quick to respond, and they genuinely stick to their appointments — which is rare and so appreciated. Every member of staff we’ve dealt with from front desk to the workmen has been helpful, knowledgeable, and very pleasant to deal with. But the real testament to their service came on Christmas Day. We had guests staying when a tap suddenly broke, and I had to call their emergency number. It was answered straight away, and within half an hour, Phil arrived — on Christmas Day — having left his family to help us. Phil was an absolute lifesaver. He was calm, polite, professional, and so kind, and he completely saved the situation for us and our guests. We are beyond grateful. Davey and Gilbert are reliable, responsive, and genuinely caring — exactly what you want when something goes wrong. We wouldn’t use anyone else. THANKS D&G !

The usual excellent annual service was carried out by Lee and Harrison, who also did it last year. They arrived as agreed around 08:00 (otherwise known these days as "the middle of the night" for me as I age gently!).. All done in about 90 minutes. Also, Marco recently changed the PCB in my cooker hood, which now works perfectly. The middle fan speed, which is used most, had failed. Now all speeds work efficiently. Really pleased!! 😄🎃👹

A leak arose with my plumbing system. Having explained the source of the leak, the company offered to replace the faulty item free of charge. Dominic Perkins from Davey & Gilbert recently installed a new boiler for me. I am 92 years old and live in a flat which has had very little modernisation since it was built around 60 years ago. As a result, Dominic kept finding all sorts of oddities and complexities that he had to deal with and it ended up taking him 4 days to complete the project. He really was exceptional. Not only was he able to work around all the hurdles that presented themselves, but he was incredibly kind and courteous, very patient when explaining everything to me, very conscious not to disturb other Flat owners and completely diligent in cleaning up after himself. I could not recommend him highly enough.

I had a worrying leak through the living room ceiling from the bathroom. The office managed to arrange someone that day, who was kind and efficient. Thank you.

I am very pleased with the work that Davey & Gilbert carried out for me. It was a logistical nightmare in my mind and I was quite anxious about it all. The men that did my work were very knowledgeable about their craft and I was put completely at ease by them at all times. They explained things to me through the whole process and kept me informed at all times Which didn't need to be very often, they know their stuff and just got on with the job. Their advice was helpful, I think I understand thing a bit more now. Everything progressed smoothly and they left my property very clean and tidy. As I said earlier they were faced with a nighmare, they solved it and I am highly delighted with the outcome. I would certainly recommend their work and would have no qualms about using them again.

My liquid gas tank was empty due to a faulty gauge so I had no heating or hot water for three days and my boiler needed an engineer to restart it following a gas delivery. The engineer that normally Deals with my annual maintenance and is always very pleasant and efficient arrived and serviced and re started my heating system.

amazing service. had an electrical circuit fault in my kitchen occur after 10pm on a Thursday evening. emailed D&G who contacted promptly next morning with an electrician visit on the Friday afternoon. the electrician contacted me to say he was on the way. and arrived spot on time. turned into quite an involved job with an apprentice assisting. really interesting to observe the process of tracking down the fault. isolated one socket. full explanation of cause given and work required. very professional service and highly recommend. no doubt will be using D&G for future works. Very pleased with the plumbing work carried out to move a hot water tank from loft to ground floor and install a new boiler. Expert advice was patiently given to plan the project. We've used Davey & Gilbert for routine servicing and emergency call out for our oil-fired boiler for the past few years and found them very responsive and knowledgeable. The most recent piece of work we asked them to do involved running pipework to a new radiator, replacing another radiator and fitting a magnetic filter on the central heating. The fitter who was doing the job took the time to make sure he understood our requirements, explained how he was going about the work and did a very neat, clean and tidy job. All in all we are very happy with the work they've done for us - and they're nice people to deal with too!

Absolutely stellar service. Rang up for emergency call out. They ran me though some checks over the phone to save on some of the call out charge and tide me over. Then came out first thing the next day. Totally thorough with their checks and tests to find the issue and had it fixed and back up and running in no time. I called this company in a bit of an emergency (my hot water would not switch off). They listened to my fault finding and sent me an electrician the next day. He listened to my problem and with some delving found the fault. He was back in a couple of hours with two parts and fitted them. Problem solved. I cannot fault them really brilliant service.

After a lot of deliberation, we decided on an air source heat pump for a large 1930's bungalow. The bungalow has always been cold but the heat pump has been a real game-changer, making the space feel cosy. The teams at Davey and Gilbert were excellent and I would recommend them.

A couple of months ago, we discovered we had a leaking hot water tank. It was housed in a cramped cupboard with very poor access.We live in an old Cornish cottage and a maze of plumbing that had evolved over decades. Much of the plumbing was behind the tank which had been fitted recently. We contacted Davey and Gilbert and were promptly visited by Sam, who having assessed the situation, suggested two possible options and gave his advice on which he thought was best. We took his advice, and a few days later were given a quotation for the work together with a start and finish date for doing the work. In due course, Ben turned up on the appointed day and 3 days later, on the previously stated end date, the job was done. Everyone we dealt with was polite, courteous and helpful – Ben & co were always friendly and cheerful, despite the lousy weather they were working in quite a lot of the time. There was quite a lot of mess while the work was going on - inevitable due to the nature of the job. But before they left, Ben and co did an amazing job of clearing up and tidying. Everything happened exactly on time as given by Sam when we accepted his quotation. And communication – particularly with Sam – was first class. We always got an aswer to any queries on the same day, or the following morning. We couldn’t have asked for more - highly recommended.

After living with a dodgy old back boiler for a long time which had a big leak I decided it was time for change. Lee, the Engineer, was extremely knowledgeable and helpful and carried out the work without any inconvenience to us. Had our new boiler fitted by Davey and Gilbert when the old one died. We'd previously used them to fit a few new radiators to the existing system and did a great job then, so it seemed right to use them again. The chap came out to quote which came through quickly ( some others don't even bother to quote.) The guys who fitted the boiler were very friendly and professional, fitting the boiler and pipe work to a very high standard. We invited Davey and Gilbert to quote for our replacement boiler because of the exceptional reputation the company has. We were not disappointed and could not have been happier with the service. Sam came out to our house to discuss our requirements and made his recommendation. The quote price was better than we thought it would be and they were able to supply and install within a week of agreeing the quote. Sam managed our expectations very well and explained the process the workmen would undertake, including installing the new flue and making good the old. On the day of install, we left the guys to it, returning a few hours later to find the work done to an exceptional standard, and the old boiler removed. The workmen showed us the controls and made sure we were able to use the new boiler before leaving. The follow up of paperwork and guarantee was swift and the overall process was nothing other than first class. I asked D&G to fix a leaky radiator at our house last week. The micro bore pipe was dripping both valves as the actual radiator had broken off its supporting brackets. Lee arrived and removed the radiator. The replacement radiator was sourced quickly within an hour ( the original brackets were broken/ bodge job) and installed perfectly. He tested the system without needing to drain the system and voila! Perfect job, lovely person and tidied up everything. Couldn’t be happier with this service.

Compleat waste of time.. I met Sam on site to discuss the work needed to complete everything, I expressed I needed the work doing promptly.. Which apparently wasn't a problem. I waited over 2 weeks for and made 3 phones. Each time not even having the job reference on the system... didn't receive 1 phone call back! Today I get the most overused excuse going. Covid related issues! And cannot do the work!!! Absolute shambles! Don't waste your time! Avoid!

1 star for driving recklessly along the A30 in your signed silver Van. Heavy rain, fog and fading light and you still felt it was reasonable to get right behind other vehicles in the fast lane travelling already at excess of 70 mph, when they let you through you sped off. Ignoring the road conditions aswell as the 60mph limit for your vehicle on that particular road.

I have had various services from Davey and Gilbert over a number of years. The receptionist is always helpful. They are pricey but the men come when arranged. They provide the service and equipment (if needed) as required. They are polite and friendly. When I have had occasions to go to the office to find out about equipment I need one of the partners has discussed the options, and consulted a trade handbook to show me the items. I live in Penzance and the company is a short way out of the town with parking spaces.
