The preparation of the area including removal of weeds was done well, although the laying of the tarmac could have been smoother and overall, it was not as even as I would like. However, they have provided a 5 year guarantee should cracks and crumbling appear. Communication regarding what was happening and when could have been better too (Devon, November 2025).

These contractors were working locally to the pub that i my wife and I run. It is called the Harness Room. They stayed in a static caravan on the site where the pub is situated (Home Farm TA4 4DP). Four of the contractors drank in the bar and were witnessed to steal a boxing glove in a presentation case it was red boxing glove signed by Joe Calzaghe. It is of great sentimental value to me and is of course a valuable piece of sports memorabilia. The matter was reported to the Police. Why on earth would you have these people work on your property?? Double driveway was in a terrible state. D & S Surfacing Contractors did the work for a very reasonable price - digging up patched-up eyesore of a driveway and laying new tarmac. They even widened the driveway by removing some redundant paving stones as requested, laying new tarmac on previous dead area. The driveway is now nice and even and new, as well as a good metre wider than previously. All done very efficiently too. Highly recommended.

Awful company. The deliberately block streets when it just isn't necessary (e.g. park the lorry or vans in the middle of the road instead of at the side so vehicles can still pass) and I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw some of the groundworkers going to the toilet in broad daylight in the middle of the road. Disgusting!

This company is excellent. They resurfaced a large drive which accommodates 10 cars which was breaking up due to tree roots. Their workmanship, efficiency and conduct was outstanding. Their price was extremely reasonable and the result is amazing. I would highly recommend D&S. I cannot understand the poor reviews which can only have been placed by jealous competitors!

There was a fairly standard sales pitch (job up the road later in the week and might have some left over so we'll offer you a special price). The price was competitive we thought for 6mm hot tarmac (or bitmac - not sure but it seems good stuff). Preparation was thorough, installation was complete in couple of hours, and I'm happy with the results. I suggest that the one star review left earlier by S Rossiter is malicious, and in my opinion can be ignored. On balance, good work at a competitive price by a well-equipped surfacing crew with the right equipment for a good job.
David and his team came to our home and was very helpful and disgust what was the best driveway to have they talked me through all different types of materials and we finally came together to have our drive tarmac and what a fantastic job they done they were very prompt on what time they arrived and kept me informed throughout the job his team of guys were very polite and clean and tidy throughout the job I cannot recommend this company any more they have done a fantastic job and we will have them back in the future for any work we require
D&S re-surfaced our yard/parking area, we are very happy with the work that’s been carried out, the yard is in use 24 hours a day and still looks in good shape for just over a year old now. David is very knowledgeable in his business with regards to resurfacing materials and provided us with the best quote.
Dave and his team at D & S did a great job of resurfacing our drive. They came to give us a price and started work immediately. The team were very polite and efficient and respected that we had a B & B business and worked around our guests. They explained all procedures connected with the job and took all the rubbish away with them leaving a very tidy job. Within 2 days we had a lovely new tar maced drive. Dave even came round three days later to make sure everything was to our satisfaction .
