Mr Read did some damp proofing remedial work in my property for which he was paid a large sum of money. I was issued with a 20 year guarantee. The damp proof workmanship failed and I was still well within the guarantee. I called, emailed and text him for 3 YEARS to come back and correct it. I have chronic illnesses and developed a cough as the damp was in my living room. I was unable to spend as much time in that room as I wanted to due to this issue. When I told Terry Read this he advised me to buy a dehumidifier. I took his advice but had to empty it every few days due to the amount of water it kept filling up with. He completely ignored all forms of correspondence and did not care that a vulnerable adult was suffering due to poor workmanship. I would never use or recommend this company.
Seemed really good on the phone, I mean they answered it took my details, said they'd call back this happened 3 times over 3 months then I gave up!
Terry came round right on time ,he checked everything thoroughly with his reader and was totally honest with the results .There was no damp just a little condensation and no need to spend any money .Such a relief to find someone this honest . No hesitation whatsoever in recommending him . Very decent chap , ticks all the boxes professional all the way .

I rate this company a 0* Worst service ever. Had damp proofing done and was issue a 20yr guarantee. It’s not worth the paper it’s written on. Been trying to call for 3mths left many messages. Until Terry finally called. I was told to send my certificate and almost 3weeks later (after chasing) I received a letter. The letter is basically asking for money to inspect the damp and spells out all the reasons why I might not be covered. It’s a letter full of excuses. It feels like I’d be paying for an inspection only to be told I am not covered. It’s an absolute outrage that people like me end up letting people like Terry get away with bad practice because we know that will probably end up spending loads of money and time to end up nowhere. I doubt Terry has ever honoured a guarantee for anyone! Below is a copy of the letter: Thank you for calling us regarding a re-inspection. If you hold a guarantee for works we have carried out on a property you own and you believe that the works have failed in any way we would be happy to return and re-inspect the area of concern. WE DO MAKE A CHARGE FOR THIS SERVICE TO COVER OUR COSTS However, it is in our experience that the majority of re-inspections result in us discovering that the result of failure is due to circumstances beyond our control. Therefore we would respectfully ask that you source the original report that was issued prior to the treatments being carried out and read over the whole survey. Generally within the report will be a paragraph relating to additional works that may be required. These works are not included within the contract such as; repair work to guttering, removal of foliage, repair to flashings, capping of chimney pots etc. It is in your interest to ensure that these works were completed and are working effectively as if they are not our guarantee will not cover the area. Please also check that any specialist waterproof plastering carried out was by us following Damp Proofing works. Plastering works can only be covered under the guarantee if it has been undertaken by this company. As stated on our guarantee: In the event of you wishing to claim under this guarantee, a fee is payable and the following Original documents must be produced by you: A) Report(s), estimate and any drawings or plans relating to it. B) Receipted invoice or proof of payment. C) The guarantee. When we have received all relevant documents and payment we will contact you to arrange a mutually convenient appointment. Please make payment by cheque made payable to T W Read Waterproofing Ltd, or Bacs for the following rate: Damp Proof Survey Only Survey £95.00 + VAT
Once again exemplary service from Terry & Alex - one of our clients had a fault on their basement pump. We called TW Read and Terry gave us Alex’s mobile - we called and left a message and he called back within 20 minutes and said he would come straight over. He went straight to our client and found the fault, gave the sump and pump a full service. Our client called she said she was over the moon and said Alex was brilliant that he explained everything and repaired the fault. Great service as ever thank you.
