Had a great experience with Andy, Nick, Graham and Pete. Explained everything and helped us through the building process. We used them for a single story extension, garage conversion and kitchen fitting. Would definitely use them again in the future.
Andy and Pete and their team helped us with an extension to the front of our bungalow to add a bedroom, modify an existing bedroom and extend the hallway. They were friendly, knowledgeable and supportive from the point of agreeing to complete the work right through to the end. They communicated with us at each stage and supported us when slight amendments were required to modify and improve the existing hallway from the original architectural drawings and structural calculations. We remained living in the property throughout the build and they made sure everything was cleaned up at the end of each day. They interacted well with the whole family and made sure the children felt included in the process as the rooms were being built for them. Their quote was competitive and they stuck to budget. We would definitely recommend them if anyone is considering extending or improving their home and are planning to ask them to complete further work for us in the future.
Basset Carpentry built our loft conversion adding a bedroom, ensuite and home office to our house. From the first visit we were impressed by their friendly and professional manner. Both my husband and I work from home so we went into the process with some trepidation about the potential disruption. We need not have worried. Pete and his team were mindful of us working at all times, respectful of work commitments and warned us of very disruptive work before it occurred. Communication was great throughout, and the building work completed to a very high standard on time and on budget. They went above and beyond to ensure that the house was left in a safe and clean state for our two young boys at the end of each day. I can't recommend them highly enough, we are extremely pleased with our new extension.
Really positive experience working with Bassett Carpentry for my recent garage renovation. Very good communication, advice and quality of work throughout the whole process. Kept to both budget and projected timings for the work and left everything tidy each evening! Well it’s been nearly a year since Pete and Andy and the team took on my loft conversion. I can say that their professionalism, skill and just hard work finished my project on time to the day !!! They are a pleasure to work with and would highly recommend them to anyone who was looking to have work done at their home. If I need anything else doing at my property I know who I will be calling. Andy and Pete consistently confirmed that we'd made the right decision when we asked them to build a single storey extension onto the back of our house and a replacement porch. They were not only highly skilled, patient, honest, trustworthy and communicative, they (and their team) were just great people to have around. That's pretty vital when they are going to spend months on your project! They used their vast experience and network to quickly resolve any challenges which arose and have left us with a life changing extension that we enjoy each and every day. The gorgeous extension is filled with light due to an apex roof housing two Velux windows and a complete wall of bifold doors with glass gable end. The Utility Room houses our white goods at a raised level for ease of use and our very swanky porch (!) is rendered as per the bottom half of the entire house. Quite a transformation! For your interest I attach before, during and after photos of their work here in Chandler's Ford We would not hesitate to recommend them.
A few friends of ours recommended Bassett Carpentry for our kitchen extension. We couldn’t be happier with the work and would recommend them to anyone else. Our extension was not straight forward but Andy & Pete were so easy to deal with. They were honest and upfront with costs, and kept to the agreed price plans. Their team who completed the electrics and plumbing were also superb. We were very nervous as this was our first project, but Bassett Carpentry exceeded all expectations and did the perfect job. They also installed the kitchen itself, which we love. We are very grateful and actually missed having them around once the extension was complete! Thank you so much.
Andy, Pete, Nick & Graham did a great job on our extension, adding a new full length rear extension, double-height bedroom extension, new utility room, garage and two new bathrooms (plus more). The quality of the work was excellent and they were always a pleasure to deal with - would certainly recommend.
Andy and Pete, with Nick and Graham, carried out our loft conversion this year and we are so happy with their work. What we liked best was their time-keeping (they ran exactly to schedule) and costing (they ran exactly to quote, except for some extras that we requested). As important was their pleasantness in working with. They are very courteous, great communication, and any problems were listened to carefully and a sensible solution found. Our project was quite large (dormer L-shape loft conversion, complete reroof, chimney repoint, 2 new bathrooms and fitted cupboards and wardrobes). Their workmanship is of a very high standard and we strongly recommend them.
Updating my review following a second job completed by Pete and Andy - excellent job again, and can thoroughly recommend - the work that they do is of the highest quality, but they are also very good post-completion at coming back for any snagging - have always felt everything is well communicated and have stuck to quoted prices. No hesitation in recommending and would certainly use them again.

The boys fitted a kitchen for me a few months ago the job was done quickly and cleanly and they kept to the price quoted and I am very happy with the job overall. Highly recommended.
Bassett Carpentry designed and built me a fully insulated shed/workshop. I told them I'm moving house next year so they made it collapsible to fit in a van to take with me. I found them very professional and excellent service.
Bassett carpentry laid 50 square metres of flooring for me in my house back in June 2016. From the measuring up to the finished job they were very polite and professional and would certainly ask them back for any other jobs in the future..
Bassett Carpentry came into to our offices at RS Sailing to create new office space by adding stud walls, door frames and windows with their vision and expertise we are very happy with the outcome, on budget and on time. First class service!
