Nick and his team did a fantastic job with our flat from start to finish. We were able to trust him to get on with things from a distance and he went out of his way to help out with any minor issues that came up along the way. The standard of work throughout the flat was excellent and we were delighted with the final outcome, as well as the project management along the way.
We have just employed this company to refurbish our 1950s flat (2,500 sq ft) completely. They stripped all the old wallpaper, right back to the bare walls, and had to scrape all the carpet off the floor because it had been glued down. Terrible job! Every detail was thought about, even things we had never even given a second thought to. Nick was always ahead of us, he had a detailed timetable for the project and finished it on time, 3 months. New kitchen. New bathroom, new cloakroom, complete new carpet throughout, every wall , skirting board and window sill painted, new cupboards in the dining room and cloakroom, 2 large wardrobes in the bedroom, fitting 15 new doors, set of double glazed doors into dining room, and fire door at entrance etc. etc. we cannot describe how pleased and grateful we are. William Bowley Projects managed the repair and refurbishment of my late mother’s property in Broadstone. I needed a local project manager because I live some three and half hours away in Cornwall. Living so far away, I wanted someone who I could trust to manage the project and deliver an outstanding outcome. Nick and Nick made an immediate good impression. We had had a really useful first meeting where my outline plans for the property were improved. They made lots of good suggestions based on their experience of redeveloping similar properties. The final specification involved, removal and/or repair of external brick walls, the construction of a new patio, repairs to a defective interior floor, full electrical rewiring, a new central heating system, a new kitchen, a new bathroom, new flooring/carpets throughout and complete redecoration. I was kept well informed throughout the project. All the work was completed on schedule, within budget and to an exceptionally high standard. I am 100% satisfied and would not hesitate to recommend William Bowley Projects.
William Bowley began their second project for us in January 2023. This involved a complete internal renovation of our house. We handed them the house over and rented for 9 months in the local area. Working with both Nick’s has been a pleasure. Nick Turner project manages very hands on and rarely is not on site managing the various trades all of which are a well-oiled and loyal team of contractors. The project included complete property underfloor heating, new electricity, bathrooms, kitchen and re configuration of both floors to the house. The house was stripped back completely and remade internally. The project was well budgeted and although that budgeted increased that was almost always due to us pushing the specification up from our initial requirements i.e. we upgraded our kitchen and bathroom choices. Nick is very particular on finishing and quality of work, and we have been left with our dream home (delivered a week early). Having had friends have quite bad experiences locally with building contractors we feel very lucky to have found William Bowley and would not hesitate to recommend them.
Finding someone to fully refurbish our house with good communication skills and a high level of trust was very important to us as we were abroad for quite a few months of the refurbishment. We were extremely lucky to find Nick Turner at William Bowley as his enthusiasm for our project matched our vision and made the process much easier than expected. From our first meeting with ‘the Nicks’ we were immediately struck with their enthusiasm and insight into our project. I met with Nick Crick and Nick Turner to discuss and review the refurbishment of my mother’s flat. I found that immediately on listening to my approach to the refurbishment and the budget I had in mind, the ideas and thoughts started to flow. We bought our apartment in Dorset as a second home, knowing that it needed refurbishing. We needed someone who could do the work and the project management for us, given our main home is in the Midlands. From our first meeting with ‘the Nicks’, they were professional and knowledgeable and produced a detailed first specification which we were able to go through and amend before work started. The project was managed efficiently, with excellent communication throughout. We received weekly updates including photos so that, although we couldn’t visit often, we could see how well the work was progressing. When we bought our flat in late 2013 we knew it would need significant refurbishment and needed to find builders who could do the work and project management for us. We asked our estate agent for recommendations, one of which was William Bowley Projects. We met Nick Turner and Nick Crick several times to go through our detailed project spec and were impressed with their clear costings and attention to detail. The project was managed efficiently and professionally from start to finish and when issues did arise, the options were discussed and agreed. One of the great things about the guys was the courtesy with which they treated our neighbours. We weren’t there to suffer the noise and disruption but the neighbours were and it is probably down to Nick C and Nick T that they are still speaking to us! We are really pleased with the finished flat and would recommend William Bowley Projects without hesitation.
We heard about William Bowley from a friend. When we met Nick and Nick, we were impressed with their thoroughness in preparing their quote. That thoroughness was carried through the rest of the project. The quote was extremely detailed, and they were happy to make the many changes we requested as we refined our thoughts. They spent a lot of time trying to understand the type of look and finish we were after, within the budget we had set out. Once we agreed the final quote, their methodical approach meant everything went to time and on budget, except for the odd unforeseen change. We were impressed with how quickly things progressed. They were very diligent in keeping us up to date with regular updates and photos and the job was finished on time and on budget. They were also very good at communicating with us when a decision needed to be made. Even when the job was finished, their attention to detail continued for the small amount of snagging work and diligent follow up.
