This was a major undertaking and from start to finish, Rob and his team were outstanding throughout. During the 15 month project we always found Rob and his workforce approachable, reliable and hard working. Nothing was ever too much trouble and he was always available to resolve any issues that cropped up. All the guys who work for him are hard working, tidy and considerate at all times. Rob also has a knowledge of specialist contractors if needed. HCUK Heritage consultants complimented him on the very high standard of workmanship and attention to detail. From beginning to end of our building project, it was a joy working with Southern Building Contractors. Every single member of the team is polite, tidy and perfectionist. They took challenges and changes in their stride - nothing was too difficult. And, to top it off, their price was very competitive too! Wouldn’t use anyone else.
We used Southern Contractors to renovate an old Bakehouse and create a stunning and contemporary retail space. It was an ambitious time frame but Rob and his team worked tirelessly to deliver on time and we could not be happier with the quality of work, finish and general aesthetic of the building. They faced problems, as you would expect when working in a busy High Street with limited access but every problem was dealt with immediately, in a sympathetic and professional manor. We would have no hesitation in recommending Southern Contractors, they are a great team to work.

Choosing a building company is a complicated process. We looked for good reputation and crucially people we would feel comfortable working with. Rob and his team fit these criteria extremely well. Rob's mantra is - avoid problems by talking things through. All large projects hit unexpected issues but we felt comfortable with the team's approach which was one of presenting us with solutions not problems.
Our project was particularly complex, replacing in its entirety a large roof structure with an additional storey in a contemporary style and completely reconfiguring the ground floor. Southern Contractors were recommended to us and they did not let us down. Rob and his team worked tirelessly, keeping us informed every step of the way. With a build this complicated there was always going to be unexpected challenges but nothing phases Rob. He is totally solution orientated, often thinking outside of the box and suggesting alterations that proved more practical than the original plans. His attitude is, whatever you want, he will make it happen. He’s such a positive person, responds quickly to all communication and goes above and beyond to support you though what can be a very difficult process; we’ve all seen Grand Designs! Rob’s team were totally reliable and never let us down. Southern Contractors have built us the most spectacular home and we have absolutely no hesitation in recommending them.
Rob and his team undertook a major double storey extension and internal renovation on our house and to say we were delighted with their work would be an understatement. Consummate professionals from start to finish - nothing was ever too much trouble and their level of hard work and attention to detail was second to none. Rob considered every possible potential issue and if something did come up, he always had the solution at hand. He also just understood instinctively exactly what we wanted to create and always went that step further to make sure it happened. It’s always stressful doing a build but Rob just takes that all off your hands, never settles on anything less than the right thing and makes sure you are happy every step of the way. Rob and the team have spent 14 weeks building a side extension to our house involving a new garage and a glass-roofed garden room. We are delighted with the result which is totally reflective of the architects plans and the project even came in on budget too! During the build process Rob was always responsive to our input and no request was too much trouble for him and the team. We have found Southern Contractors to be a pleasure to work with and would not hesitate to recommend them to others.

I can happily recommend Southern Contractors. We were left with no hot water and an underfloor heating system that just wouldn’t quit. The plumbers we had prior were out of their depth and ran a mile. Rob and his team came to our aid quickly, and effectively devised a much better approach to our situation and was fairly priced, especially for the work involved. They didn't give up and worked hard until we were all sorted and the heating and hot water situation was fixed! :-) They were recommended to us so we wholeheartedly recommend them to others.
Southern contractors were referred to me by a friend.. they did an amazing job for my friend and even better job for me... they are true professions ... it was a big re fit and re furb job.. they completed it on time ... the team were friendly and Discreet around the house and cleared away everyday when finished.. the finish was of the highest standard ... we were so pleased and still use southern contractors for all other jobs in our house ..
