We recently used Lumber Jacks to trim a tree in our garden that has a TPO, and I honestly could not be more impressed with their service. From start to finish, they handled everything professionally and efficiently. They took care of the entire council application process for the protected tree, which completely removed the stress from our side. Their communication throughout was clear and reassuring, and they made sure all the required permissions were properly in place before any work began. When it came to the actual tree work, the team did a brilliant job. The trimming was carried out carefully and sympathetically, improving the shape and safety of the tree while keeping it healthy and looking natural. The before and after photos really show the difference. What stood out most was their attention to detail. They removed and recycled all the waste wood, left our garden spotless, and even cleared up thoroughly in our neighbour’s property where a few branches had fallen. From the first telephone call to Jack back in July 2025 who was on an overseas family holiday, to me that went a long way. Jack and his team came & have done a superb job trimming Leylandii x5 / Cypress x3 trees, to reduce tops by approx. 2–3 meters and trim face to tidy. Very professional, trustworthy and polite. Super clear up after job was finished. I sent the same e-mail & pics to other local tree surgeons & Jack was the only one who made time to do a site visit in the daytime. F.A.B. We only had one other tree surgeon visit one evening, that quote was very high & when Jack e-mailed over his quote & the way he came across. That was that & I did NOT waste my time on any others coming in the evenings. On my job today, 7.10.25. The reason Jack can get out to do quoting daytime when he needs to is that unlike the others local tree surgeons, 2 of his 3 chaps on my job today trained to climb & doing the cutting, and Jack did some climbing & cutting hands-on boss. They also removed most of the front bush that was dead, that was not in the quote, see pic. I said to Jack today, we've been having them trimmed since 2003. No one has ever returned. They followed health and safety procedures. They operate head and shoulders above other similar companies that I've previously hired. The Driver of the Land Rover that is sign written on this evening needs to take some advanced driving lessons, not only did he try and be cocky on a round about and cut me up but further on decided to try and box clever again this time cutting up an NHS van carrying Blood, I hope he is better up a tree with a tool in his hand that his driving, who ever you think you are I can confirm you’re a rather large “TOOL” when I comes to your courtesy concerning road and highways laws, my Dash cam footage has been up loaded to Surrey police. I asked Lumber-Jacks Tree Services to cut back hedges, ivy and a Cypress tree. I was extremely impressed. Not only were they clearly knowledgeable and skilled at their profession, but they arrived as agreed, navigated some access issues with patience and understanding, were respectful of my property and that of my neighbours and they followed health and safety procedures. As in 2023, Lumber-Jacks did a good job cutting back a crack willow in my back garden. They came on the agreed date at the agreed time and did the job as per quotation. They left the garden looking tidier than it was before they arrived.

Jack and his Team were super efficient , they did a great job on our huge hedge , it was not an easy job as the tree was from my neighbours garden taking all the light from both our house and garden. Top had to be taken back, and masses of long branches to be cut and cleared away. Jack advised on all the pros and cons beforehand , didn't help having torrential rain most of the day, but they cleared everything up efficiently afterwards . . Will certainly use them again, and can recommend them highly . Honest, straight, and polite and quoted a fair price for the job.

I was very happy with the work carried out by Jacks team. The guys were on time. They were mindful of the space for the lorry and were polite and professional with my neighbours who were concerned about access for a delivery. The work was carried out quickly but properly. They cleaned up on completion and left everything in good condition. They also gave me some advise on what sort of wood should and should not be burned in a wood burner after I asked for some left over logs which was useful. I received a very competitive price from Lumber-Jacks for the removal of two large Lawson Cypress trees in my rear garden. The work commenced promptly on the arranged day and took a full day plus part of the following morning to complete. The men were very courteous and cleaned up all the associated mess, including any debris that had fallen into the neighbours property. I would highly recommend them.

He identified the work that needed to be undertaken, he applied for the TPO permission with the Borough Council to undertake the work, provided a competitive quote in a timely manner, agreed a date for the work to be undertaken, arrived promptly, with appropriate safety equipment, worked carefully to ensure there was no damage to greenhouses and sheds, was polite, professional and left the garden immaculate. Lumber-Jacks are very professional and customer orientated. From the point of our initial meeting to the start date, which was only 2 weeks, we carried out quite a bit of landscaping which impacted access to the trees, "not a problem", Jack and his team just got on with the work without any negativity. I was kept informed regarding arrival times and they were here when they said they would be. Pricing, I thought, was fair and reasonable and he came across as knowledgeable and honest. It was an excellent experience and I would highly recommend them

Lumber-Jacks service was exemplary in all respects. Jack arrived at the agreed time to quote and his specialist equipment in and being towed by his van, demonstrated that he is the 'real deal'. His knowledge was clear in understanding the two high trees that I wanted to have 'crown topped' and thinned. Even sent a reminder email the day before. Extremely pleased with trimming of sides and tops of Evergreen trees. They look very neat and had to judge height precisely due to backing neighbours extension, so that we don't become over looked. Left my garden spotless. Jack was very responsive when I enquired for a quote. Upon accepting the quote Jack scheduled a date to carry out the work which he kept to. On the day Jack and his team turned up on time and did a brilliant job at cutting two large hedges, one of which had grown quite high. Jack came out the next day and removed the tree and even chopped all the burnable debris into handy chunks for us to use in our wood burner.
