I had a small installation put in by ECH a couple of years ago and the on site installers were good and to be honest the sales service was good too. However, I have had an ongoing issue with the battery whereby every few months it will drop all charge to the grid (at my expense!) and then start to recharge from zero. A few weeks ago the battery did this and now will not charge or even turn on, it is not recognised by the ap, it cannot be reset and as a consequence I cannot store any excess electricity I generate. These batteries are not cheap and I am disappointed the system is having these problems. I have contacted ECH for help and they say its user error (how!?) and needs resetting and that will cost me £360, that is not what the manufacturers website says. Carl from ECH is very unhelpful and abrupt dismissive in equal measures in his communications. I have looked up this problem on the GivEnergy website and they say the lack of response from the battery and the big red error light on the front suggest a hardware fault. I have contacted ECH to help as such expensive kit is of course covered under the sale of good act... "...In the UK, consumers have strong legal protections for expensive, durable items that last up to six years (five years in Scotland) under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 (which replaced the Sale of Goods Act 1979 for purchases made after 1 October 2015). This statutory right means goods must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose, and last a "reasonable" length of time..." And they have denied any responsibility. I will now contact Trading Standards, MCS and anyone else I can think they are involved with.

I have had a 14 panel solar system for over two months now. Very happy with the insulation and the money I am saving. A good company to deal with.

I had solar panels installed in September 2025. All up and running within a day. The 3 guys that carried out the installation were very efficient. We've already seen a noticeable decrease in our electricity bill. Happy to recommend ECH Group to anyone thinking of having solar panels installed.

This is the second time we have asked ECH to carry out works for us, and once again we are totally impressed with the service we received. Although still early days of having solar panels and a battery installed, I would happily recommend ECH. From first contact with ECH my experience has been very positive. The initial quote was very competitive and did not change. The installation was completed efficiently by a very courteous, competent team. A subsequent query was dealt with immediately and satisfactorily. Thank you ECH.

ECH were recommended to me by several people that I know who had both had solar panels and battery systems installed recently. I contacted the firm independently to ask for a quotation, which they were able to provide remotely by assessing the approximate dimensions and volume of our roof space via the web and got back to me quickly with a quote. They were responsive getting back to me with answers to my questions about how things worked and costings. Once I placed the order, the panel fitters visited to make sure our roof and work space were suitable, they showed up on time, were polite and professional and explained how everything would work. I’d been told all of this when I was referred by a friend so it was re-assuring to hear the same information. They do work very quickly to tight timescales and were able to come the next week after the site survey which was great. On the day of installation, everything happened as had been explained and the whole job was done by 3pm, it would have been sooner but for Fox taking an hour to respond to an issue raised about a battery not connecting sooner. They left the areas they worked on neat and tidy and everything was fitted as specified. James the electrician who hadn’t seen the site beforehand spent time with me working out what would go where as there were decisions to be made about cabling and what would work best and look nicest afterwards. It would be easy not to bother doing this and just slap the stuff in and do the easiest thing, but they didn’t do this. James was great at clearly identifying what options were, how they would work, explaining what was happening and took care to explain how everything worked afterwards, particularly with the app and how the functionality of the equipment worked. A separate team fit the roof panels, they were polite and efficient. James, the electrician was a lovely bloke and knew his stuff. All of the communication which I’d preferred to be by email was very quickly responded to and followed up accurately and professionally. There were no pushy emails for sales bashing, which was nice, just very business-like which was what I wanted. I paid a deposit up front which is reasonable and the balance once the work was completed, all of this is clearly signposted and a simple bank transfer sorts it. There’s some post-installation stuff that needs to happen to register the equipment, ECH do all of that for you and we are still in that process. I cannot fault anything with the experience and we are delighted with the product we’ve been delivered.

ECH did a brilliant job from start to finish with the design, survey and installation of our solar and battery system. The installation team were friendly and helpful and had no problems in answering questions during the installation as well as providing a thorough run through how the system and app worked. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this local company to anyone I know.

We've had our panels and battery for about a month now. I have been really impressed with ECH. No pressure sales, and offered a number of options at different budget levels. The information leading up to installation was good. The fitting team were efficient and everything was installed quickly. Fortunately we have not come across any issues and have found the system ready to use. Hopefully it'll be easy to set up the runners for charging, but it seems simple enough. Overall I cannot fault the service and the equipment supplied.

We’re so pleased that we went to ECH for our Solar installation of 14 panels, a storage battery and link to our immersion heater for hot water. From start to finish our experience was fantastic they completed everything exactly as promised and the ECH staff are so nice and professional.

Excellent solar panel installation by ECH. Inverter, car charger, battery and wiring into fuse board done on first day. Solar panels fitted a few days later due to box of brackets got lost in the post. All system working spot on. Registration process and FoxCloud App completed in 10 min. App show all the energy generated by the solar panels where its going. Surplus energy will be sold back to the grid . Great bunch of hard working guys which did the work.

I have taken far too long to put up this review as I had the install done in July. I have to say that the quote installation and after service has been amazing. Carl as very helpful with advice and suggestions and was able to beat a quote and provide superior products. The install process was professional, tidy and quick and I did not need the extra cost of scaffolding. The system has worked great; I had one minor issue when a fuse tripped but David was able go fix remotely. I have seen some negative reviews and I was a little concerned at first but Carl put my mind at rest and I am happy that I uses ECH and would recommend. Thanks again!

My first complaint was with the delay in Carl sending the quotes David said he would rather than a brochure of information available online. This was spring 2024. Then after accepting their quote they said they couldn't install the large GivEnergy battery quoted for and that I'd need two smaller ones instead but it would cost me a further £200. I felt held to ransom and reluctantly agreed. The midweek handover on installation was rushed as the installer had a long journey and he said he'd finish commissioning remotely the next day. It took until the end of the week to be running. I didn't get warranty certificates, just a link to the GivEnergy warranty website info. I had a friend with me on installation day and the ECH Group Installer failed to communicate that he fitted a breaker in my loft out of sight from my loft hatch and that I'd need to use it if my power trips not just my usual mains circuit breakers. He said to leave the installation in the loft alone so I never saw or found it and didn't know it was necessary when the power tripped in August. As a result, the batteries depleted and went flat. This is their negligence. GivEnergy asked for a photo of the breaker and have concerns with the ECH Group wiring. I advised ECH of this and they don't accept an issue checking their own homework without attending!!! Carl Hughes a ECH Director, would only get my new batteries recharged from the DC current at a further cost to me knowing they're responsible and it's under warranty according to their contract. I've been advised that I shouldn't have to pay and they've breached the RECC Code of Conduct by another MCS Accredited Installer Director. She advised that I contact MCS and RECC if they still refuse to rectify my newly installed system for free as good will aftercare. She said they should do this for anyone but especially as I'm classed as a vulnerable person due to multiple disabilities, they shouldn't have instructed me to get in my loft and resolve the flat batteries myself. This morning another Installer phoned and said to warn other customers on the reviews. He said that if another company has to do the repair and check or correct wiring to GivEnergy's specifications because ECH Group Ltd refuse, that consumers are within their rights to send the invoice to ECH Group Ltd who GivEnergy should be leaning on as should MCS and RECC once notified. Watch out for poor aftercare and failure to communicate from ECH GROUP LTD.

The initial dealing when quoting for an in roof solar system and battery was really positive, never pushy and competitively priced. The first issue came on the day of installation, they couldn’t fit as many panels on the roof as they thought as all the surveys were done remotely. So I had to make a decision whilst at work with no roof on whether to proceed with 1/3 less panels. The price was reduced to reflect this of course but really this should have been calculated prior to the day of installation even if it means an onsite visit to double check. Second issue is I had to specify where I wanted the battery, they never asked me so good job I checked, however the solar inverter was placed where my ev charger is planned to go. This was mentioned but not specifically by me as I didn’t know there was an extra unit to be installed, I should have been made aware of the entire installation requirements and asked exactly where I wanted each unit. The actual installation I can’t fault the quality or timing of the installers but the planning side with the office staff needs some improvement. I did request the unit to be moved into the right position and have complained about my dissatisfaction however I was ignored twice and told it probably wouldn’t be done unless someone happened to be in the area to do it, so I will have to get an electrician to move a unit at cost to me.

Having recently placed an order with ECH after tendering with 5 companies I was impressed by the price, quality, speed and ease of dealing with Carl at ECH. The final installation was undertaken smoothly with minimal disruption and the data logger that was provided allows easy access to the power genaration from the system. The Bowling Club is very pleased with the installation and the potential revenue the panels will generate. I would recommend ECH to any others considering solar panels.

Had solar panels installed April 2023. At that point couldn’t fault the customer service and the installation. However by November 2023 the system hardware had a fault on it preventing from reporting through the app. ECH initially tried to remotely fix but required us as customers to unwire and rewire components in the electricity box which we were not keen to do. The correspondence was incredibly slow eventually stopping in its entirety. No calls were returned, phones answered, emails replied to after February 2024. Eventually I managed to resolve the issue by contacting the hardware manufacturer (MyEnergi) directly who informed me they could have resolved in the first place. I finally contacted ECH leaving feedback directly with their customer feedback contact stating my disappointment in their customer service. Again I’ve had no response to this.

Great company, great customer service, brilliant work force, fast and efficient and most of all great product and prices. I look forward to our next meet for more panels. Thank you

I honestly have no words on how good this company is. I have just had a second system of 10 panels installed, the first time they were amazing and quick this time even faster and more efficient. The staff are absolutely lovely guys with one job in mind, so polite and a credit to this company, the electrician was very friendly and full of information on how it all works etc. I will definitely be recommended to everyone, just faultless from start to finish.
