Easy to use and good staff on site, very pleased with the whole site, well done BDBC
Easy to book and fairly easy to find where waste is meant to go. Better signs for less obvious waste would be useful
Like all recycling centre the need to put "waste" in the correct place is foremost here. Actually number one is visitor safety and staff are alert to both safety and helping you know the correct skip to use. It's a shame that you need to book before visiting and also there are fees for specific waste disposal. What is waste for some is useful for others and there's an opportunity to buy items sorted by type of they can be reused. Remember it's a recycling place!
They've changed their booking system and now you have to go through the rigmarole of putting in all your details just to find there are never ANY weekend slots available. I never used to have any issue booking the weekend, so either they've reduced weekend slots or the population doubled overnight.
You have to wait over a week for a slot. Unsure why it's so hard to visit this tip when all the other local tips have slots same day or next day . To make it worse it's closes for lunch but you can still book a slot over lunch. Then site waiting outside for ever for it to reopen.
Booked a slot straight in now queue. Pointed to the bay. Easy. Off loaded and on my way in 10 minutes.
We use the Basingstoke Household Waste Recycling Centre at Wade Road on a regular basis. For mostly garden Waste, but most recently for sorting out my mother's flat following her death. I have always found the Staff very helpful and obliging, especially when You're not sure where to put certain items. In the past, we have always found it easy to book a suitable date and time slot online. However, just recently it is becoming more difficult to book, as there seems to be a reduced availability of dates and times available. This is a shame, as it is a good service for the Community and at present there is still no charge.
Overall, this is a very well-organized and efficient recycling centre. Since the online appointment booking system was introduced, the massive queues down Wade Road are a thing of the past, and the bays are clearly marked and easy to navigate. However, the experience with the staff can be a bit hit-and-miss. While not all of them are an issue, some are really not very helpful. For instance, despite making my booking online, I was recently made to get completely out of my car just to tell them my booking reference number. It's a great facility, but the customer service from certain staff members could definitely be improved.
Such amazingly helpful staff here. They helped me to get everything out of the car, even carrying oil and paint cans across the site with no prompting from me. Thank you to the kind and lovely staff.
Really gone downhill. Can't book slots as before. A deliberate policy to encourage people to use paid for pick up I'm sure. Either way, Pointless and idiotic move to restrict times. It will only encourage fly tipping. My father went on a few days that were supposedly fully booked. Utter BS. place was half empty. Poor. Very poor.
This a good place to recycle waste you are aloud 12 visit per year you pay a yearly fee about 20 pounds good value
New booking system is rubbish Can't book a spot for a least a week ahead and then only a few dates available The place is now never busy Suspect it's engineered to reduce the number of visitors and hence waste deposited Needs fixing quickly
The Basingstoke tip only offers 1 possible date, in 1 week time… nothing else. No other dates to choose from. This booking system is utterly ridiculous. How are people meant to get rid of their waste?? I can see why people must dump waste round Basingstoke. I wish it would go back to the old system. It was way easier to plan a day at home, around kids nap times etc rather than trying to decide where you’ll be in exactly 1 weeks time. Do you know how difficult it is thing to load up a car with 2 young children and sticking to a booking time slot? Especially when there is NO availability?? Not sure what’s happened to Basingstoke tip but this is pretty awful
I have tried to book an appointment online and I am fairly quick with filling in the form but it keeps telling me the “ session has timed out”. So you cannot book. I feel the system needs looking into. Also all the extra houses they are building and making Basingstoke bigger the recycling centre is not big enough. We should have a center like Reading.
Has gone downhill in the last couple of years. Hampshire council brought in a booking system and now deliberately try to make it difficult. Guard also intentionally causes queues.
Great site and really helpful people working there. You need to make a booking for a time slot but this helps it not being too busy.
Basingstoke has a poor recycling record, but it's not the fault of the recycling centre. Efficient booking system cuts down queueing significantly. Helpful staff always on hand to guide you to the right bin.
Very well organised and laid out. Has to handle a lot of customers but queues are largely avoided by the pre-booking system . Good
Booked, turned up on time, quick check-in. Deposited waste and out within 10 mins. All.good
Showed up with a booking- could not enter because of the “flood”. Nothing was mentioned on a website. No information, waste of a trip, had to bring everything back home, went for absolutely no reason. Waste of time.
Excellent service and very helpful, though Basingstoke don't recycle as much as Newport.
Easy to get a slot and SOME staff very helpful when asking where to put things and if you need help lifting things out of the car.
Visited 3 times in last few weeks and it's always been good. Staff were happy to help me with heavy items. Friendly and cheerful and didn't rush me even though it was late. Really appreciated it.
Awful service. Staff are rude. Would rather spend the extra time and drive to Alton.
10/10 , smooth and easy , never a long queue. Great experience , very helpful friendly staff. Great to do a clear out of the house.
Teach your staff some manners. Please and thank you are free. Gruffy staff!!
Arrived early for my appointment ( only 5 minutes ) to find a 100 yard queue in the road outside . Nothing was moving for 10 minutes or so then we started to move and after another 20 minutes of queueing finally got into the tip. When I asked what had caused the delay I was told they have to have their lunch break and they all break at the same time . So beware of booking your visit any time around lunch time or you will be in the road outside for half an hour or so.
The staff are disgustingly rude. The attitude and sheer rudeness i witness today directed towards me and another member of the public using this dump from multiple members of staff was absolutely appalling. Awful place.
Staff are always helpful and friendly. Booking easy to do online as you can't just turn up. Been going here for years now and haven't had one bad experience fingers cross it stays that way.
Helpful Staff but still annoying to have to travel 12 miles when Newbury waste recycle is 2 miles away
The limited booking and queuing system is ridiculous. It’s no wonder fly tipping is on the increase. Updated 21/05/2025 Still ridiculous but with the addition of being ordered around by foreign workers shouting pigeon English all the time.
What’s the point in having a phone number if you never answer it? Called multiple times over 2 month period not one call answered.
Best day to go! Nice quiet Sunday morning, easy to find with no waiting at all. Friendly staff who were happy to help!
I wouldn't normally review a tip but it came up on my recent visited places so I thought I would. I've been a few times recently during the week and it's been a case of right in and right out. The layout isn't perfect as you can't queue on the left side and then end up queuing on the right as you watch people arriving going straight into the left spaces as they become available while you are still waiting. That said I've not had to wait too long put of peak hours. I also took my three year old who wasn't particularly entertained so not a place for a family day out. Update 2018 - it's no longer in and out and the queues can often be found all the way back to the roundabout. I believe the opening hours have shortened making it much busier. That said I've found the staff helpful and they've even helped empty my boot presumeably to keep things moving along. Still nothing of interest for the kids. Update 2024 - now there is pre booking it is back to in and out so limited queues. Kids are now at an age where they can help empty the boot although one member of staff has said kids shouldn't really be doing that. I'm not sure why not and could understand if I'd let them drive in.
My own experience of this place is just overwhelming, the appointment system is just spot on and the way the site is lay out is just the business, am I going again sure I am. As I have just said I have been back and I am going back when I have a enough items for recycling,by my hand this 17 June 24.
Crazy design posting cardboard through a small gap into a skip. If it gets wet ie it rains, no good for recycling either.
The team who work here are fantastic, helpful and understanding. Whatever model they are using they should adopt it for the other places in Hampshire
Most of the staff are great. Also you can donate good furniture or toys for them to sell instead of throwing it away. Wish they could take bottles as well. The booking system is a bit of joke.
People complaining about rules and the booking system clearly haven't had to deal with this. It takes 2 seconds and avoids this problem which is really annoying for the people that have booked a spot. The guys that work there are great though, really helpful
Rules are rules but come on......really....look what they made me do because my trailer was 10cm to long..... Update....you have to book a space again now, I turned up on Sunday 26th without a booking and although there were 4 free bays, i was told to move along. Rules gone mad guys..... there's that word again... rules.
Great experience this morning. Appointment system works really well and staff super friendly and helpful.
Always polite and helpful, online booking only however my last 3 visits and no obvious checks
Bit of faffing booking online but once there, everything was smooth! No waiting and the staff were very helpful.
This place isn't open long enough and now they're charging for rubble. Seems ridiculous. Needs to be run by the local council rather than a private company interested in profit
Still booking time slots and still remaining efficient in and out. I was still pleasantly surprised at the cleanliness of the site and the helpful and polite staff. Keep up the good work.
Staff very helpful and pleasant despite the abuse the receive from some locals using the services.
The appointment system continued from the COVID lockdown certainly does seem to have smoothed the operation of this site, weird are now much shorter. The staff are helpful and the number of them with good English seems to have improved. We still Easter far too much as a society but texting and Emery recovery from things that cannot be recycled is improving.
Friendly and helpful staff with a very well managed booking system. We have used this recycling centre many times and never had any problems.
Is it unreasonable in a post covid era that council tax payers cannot book a same day slot to use this recycling centre? How is it that the Andover waste recycling centre can provide this service via the online booking facility but Basingstoke cannot? Is demand that out of sync with the staff resourcing at this site? It's simply not good enough in 2022 to have to contend with this continued restricted service by Hampshire council and that's no reflection on the great staff working at the site.
Very friendly and helpful team working in the extream heat on Friday 17th june 22, First time I've been here as my parents live in Hampshire. Called them a couple of days ago to find out if or what i needed to do, was advised to register my cars details and then make a booking appointment. Really easy to do infact I booked 2 appointments for Friday as so much recycling ♻️ to do. A very well organised team 👏 👍 Many thanks all for your help 🙏
Very convenient having a time slot.Very friendly & helpful lady to give advice where to sort out rubbish in containers.
Really easy to find. Really helpful friendly staff. Was well organised and clean and tidy.
Very well organised. Helpful staff and the online booking system is definitely the best way forward.
Super helpful staff, but nowhere to recycle my glass bottles anywhere in Basingstoke!?
Super friendly and helpful staff. Site is as clean as you could expect from a tip 😀
It was the most easiest of visits for a while, which was such a relief. The staff were helpful as usual and sanity has resumed!
Good to see the enormous recent changes at the site, in terms of staffing. The resident team seemed very happy and co-operative both today and a week or so ago. This is in marked contrast to what went on before. I gather that throughput is being raised too, which is great to see (more booking slot availability). Hopefully we can see a return to either no booking system or one with some same-day capability at this busy site. Keep up the good work !!
Back again but this time served by a super friendly women(sorry didn't get her name) but she was very helpful and friendly...thanks
Wow Great friendly and polite team. Clean, tidy easy access. Well worth a visit remember to book.
Ok You still have to book your 30 minute time slot (at the moment) which is great and I agree with as hardly a queue there and in n out in 10 minutes, members of staff are helpful and point you in the right direction to the correct waste bin
booked a slot, straight in and no waiting, delight, you must book a time slot otherwise you won't get in
Alot better the way it is, no long queues. People check you in and give the advice on what bin to put your waste in like they normally do. Only snag is one space per day only, if you have alot of rubbish you maybe a bit stuck.
Very friendly staff but sadly because of Covid they are now not permitted to assist customers with unloading their items. One particular female staff member was really good during our visit with a hire van. I think the booking system should be made more flexible though.
Good that you can book time slots. Quick getting in and out, not the queues it once used to have.
So much better with the booking service!!Guys working there seem much happier!!😖🤪😂👍👍👍
I visited the Recycling Centre on Sunday 11 July 2021. What a great team of guys. The man who greeted me was very cheerful, polite and very helpful indeed. I love the booking system. I drove straight in with no queue and off loaded my junk easily with the guidance of the man who greeted me on arrival. I used to dread going to the tip but now I don't mind it at all. I'd like to say thank you to all the team for doing such a great job.
Drove straight, no queuing at all. Dropped off my waste and was soon on my way again. It's a little inconvenient having to book in advance and only being allowed to visit once a week, but not having to queue any more is a big plus.
I have got to say I used to dread coming to this place, having just bought a new house and it being in major need of renovation I finally bit the bullet and ventured to the tip. All I can say is what a change! Now that it is under new management with Eddy it's actually a pleasant experience! Long may it continue 😃
Very organised Pleasant and helpfull staff Which makes a change... Nice little shop Bargains
The booking system means: no queuing to get in, bigger parking spaces and less people on site it's less frustrating and much quicker
The staff here are great, but the current HWRC rules enacted by Hampshire County Council are rather stupid at best.
A well organised and supervised system in place. Hassle free from booking to disposal all done and dusted.in 20mins with No huge queues either! I hope you continue to run this as a booking service forever more!
These guys are fantastic. They were SO helpful when my ancient Land Rover broke down last year and had to be rescued. I am in the process of going once a week at the moment as I'm moving house and they all bend over backwards to make a visit as easy and safe as possible. Wade, in particular, enjoys my visits as there is always a degree of trepidation to see whether the car will start when I leave !!
Not nice service, Sandra the worst of all people working there. She made a private farm out of someone else's company. I came with waste paper, Sandra did not let me buy it and said that I should not come there anymore. Shock. I do not recommend!!!!!!!
Well organised under the pandemic rules. The appointment system means no queuing on the roads. Only one visit per week gives everyone a fair chance.
What can I say - it's a dump 😀 Helpful staff, making sure you put items in the correct bins. Never busy as have to book a time slot means there's no queues
Was sent around again after being told to go around the back wasting my time and they were not that busy either
First time we have been since lock down. It was very well organised. A little wait to get in but the queue moved fast.
Friendly and efficient service. Covid conscious. Plenty of space for large waste items. Easy ingress/egress. Everything you need from this sort of place, nothing you don't.
Booked a slot, had to wait a week, on the day only there 10 minutes including waiting to enter compound
It can be frustrating to get a slot at times, but when you turn up it's usually straight in and out. Much better than the sometimes horrendous queues there used to be.
Everything went great. Got there early but shown straight in. Helped with unloading.
I'm still amazed at the covid restrictions. Do the folk who apply these rules go supermarket shopping!!!!
Excellent service. Need to pre-book before you go though. May charge for some waste.
Hard to get an appointment.... but good service when there. I prefer appointments... just need more bays open after Covid.
Well organised, and impressed with due care during Covid pandemic. Well done.
I booked a 11.30 to 12pm slot arrived a bit early then had to que for 35 mins. The facility WA only running at half capacity 🙁
Well organised, staff very polite, great to not have to queue, straight in, unload and away. Well done.
Long wait considering you are having to book a 30min slot. Also advise to book well in advance a slots for Basingstoke are scarce as hens teeth!!!
Easy too book - great service and all the covid 19 restrictions and measure rispected fully!!!
The booking system is a good thing that has happened. It means there are no long waiting times and no traffic built up on the main road. Booking is easy and staff are very friendly and helpful
Lots of queuing, cumbersome booking system, poor signage. Not a great experience overall. The government and local councils asking people to recycle more and yet not providing the means to do that safely and efficiently leaves the system a bit broken.
Had the humiliating experience of being refused access inspite of booking online days ahead. No flexibility or empathy displayed.
Didn't have to queue for long to get in (had appt booked). Staff are friendly & helpful. Not always obvious which skip to use. Usually need to ask.
Great experience. Very well managed and the place was spotless. The only issue is about getting an appointment which sometimes can take a lot of tries.
I know some people hate the booking system but the fact that there're no queues plus how efficiently it's run, really make it easier.
Very good surprised we still have to book! But staff very friendly and helpful.
Well managed, specifically now that there are no queues. Helpful staff, good reuse shop as well. The booking system is a bit of a pain, you can't change car reg on the booking, availability of slots a hit and miss.
Booked timeslots work really well. Really friendly staff. A great experience. No complaints.
Well organised. Staff helpful and polite. Staff and other users respectful of social distancing. Queuing system works well and makes it much easier and quicker.
Need to persevere to get a slot but system works well and staff helpful and friendly.
Booking system is in place at the moment. Spaces are limited so need to keep checking online for slots. Once in, good social distancing in place.
I have tried to book a time slot to visit s everyday since the 17th of June but had no joy whatsoever. So please all you lot with rave reviews on how smooth and easy it is, please let me into the secret.
The prebooked time slots seem to be working. I booked on Tues & today was my appointment. The staff there were very helpful & it took 30 mins from arriving to being on my way home.
Online booking system works well, turned up early but that didn't cause any issues. Well laid out to try and maintain social distancing and the staff were very helpful. Just a shame that we couldn't dump our old sanitary items.
I got there at 17:20 and they had stopped letting people queue, even though the queue was short and they weren't closing till 18.00.
Despite the queue, which moved quite quick and done and dusted within half hour
Very VERY busy, but an hr wait considering conditions acceptable and very clean and excellent marshalling and provisioning.
Someone was throwing away a good kids bike and I asked the pearson if I can have it for my kid. So bike went from person's car to my car. Member of staff came quite rude and said it's against the rules to take something from site. I had no choice, but to leave the bike, as I didn't want to raise a drama for nothing. In my opinion this is ridiculous, as that bike could have another life instead of being crashed on site.
A hour and a half, in the queue, to get to the gate, but it was another 20 mins unloading! Obviously, they can't help us so it takes longer
A badly designed site made bearable by its excellent employees. Cars at the top hold up the queues to the bottom. When you get to bottom you cannot see if bays are clear. It is necessary to lift heavy items instead of dropping them as at other places. Needs expansion and redesign.
Helpfull Staff who assist if needed Well organised Tidy and as clean for a tip. Sometimes you need to queue but that can be expected with any place
Could do with better parking for more cars etc, otherwise a real well run friendly place
can residents / employees look differently than after the apocalypse? Cleaned, Washed! Can they behave like in the 21st century, without shouting, without shouting vulgar words! Ps. Does presenting inhibition and dirty teeth have to be a showcase of this place?
An absolutely brilliant service here - so helpful! Thankyou from North Hampshire lawn treatments Ltd
Every time I have been to the Wade Road household waste site I have never had a bad experience with the staff. They are polite and offer to help immediately. It must be a very hard job but the staff are very good . Yes the queuing can be a bit of a problem but that is not the fault of the people working there, but the council who have not put much thought into the accessibility of the site. Once again mayI thank the staff at Wade Road for doing a thankless task in a polite an efficient way
Absolute awful place, with awful staff. I will be making a formal complaint to Basingstoke and Deane first thing Monday morning.
Can only get rid of cardboard if it fits through a letter box type slot! No general household waste option when I visited today. Staff did not want to engage or respond, so had to take my bags of rubbish, paper and card etc, back home. My waste not good enough, but good enough to waste my time.
Regularly use the tip but traffic flow is awful, management of the green waste bins is poor as they are often too full. You have to lift up bags to empty them rather than drop items safely. You need cameras to indicate where parking spaces are because you can't see them and you can't see the car queues from entry at the top around the side to the lower area. Only thing is staff are good. I have lived here 30 years and the place is the same as then.. too small and inefficient now for a massively expanded population. Should be rebuilt to modern standards like Newbury where you drive to the top level and throw stuff down.
I've had to do a fair few runs of household junk to them over the past few weeks and they are always super helpful and friendly. Honestly I am amazed at how easy an experience it is and how good the team are.
I have used the tip a lot over the past few months as I prepare to move house. I have always found the staff to be friendly and really helpful. I've rarely had to queue so I've been very happy with the service.
Long queues and could do with a slip road to prevent holding up the traffic not wanting to use the centre.
Convenient that it's local and staff are helpful but opening hours are very restrictive and queuing can be very painful if they only have 50% open.
If you must use a local amenity centre (aka the tip) this is one of the best in the area.
Bit surprised to be told by some American staff member that as I didn't have a permit if I gave him £20 I could unload??
Busy a lot of the time. Helpful staff though. Shame they didn't have a bigger site
You pay your tax for this type of place and then they charge you again to take top soil rubble and may other things ? Maybe they want to make the street more untidy with flytiping wicth will cost the more money in the long run
Design of the place causes congestion. Considering this affects Wade Road, the council and management need to address this.
Having moved from Reading the Basingstoke site is far easier more pleasant to use than the r3e site in reading. waiting times are far less. There could be better management of the two parking areas. People attending have no idea if the second bays are occupied until they arrive at them, this leads to cars queueing at the first set. When the second set could be free.
So often a long queue to get in there and it shuts at 4 on Saturday which makes no sense when there is obviously s high demand for it.
extremley useful. some guys ate helpful others just let you get on with it.
"Charges are intended to cover the cost of disposal only and not to make any profit" Really ? Plasterboard is more expensive to recycle (£10) than to purchase (£7) 1l of plasterboard cost 20p to recycle. 1l of soil cost 8.3p. Both must be delivered (long wait times!) It cost 8.3p to recycle 1l of soil/rubble at a neighbouring skip company which delivers and collect skips!. I understand that many small bulders drop waste in their private cars, but there are other ways to stop this. Since introduction of those charges I can see more piles of rubble in Basingstoke, so council will now spend more to chase and prosecute fly tippers! BRAVO Borough Council!
Staff are great, but policy of charging for some recycling products is short sighted and out of touch. The council need to update their policy.
Not much of a queue when I went (midday wednesday) and friendly helpfull staff
Essential facility in Basingstoke. Helpful staff. They do charge for building rubble - so take some cash!
Sometimes a bit of a wait at peak times, so I would advise arriving early on weekends or during the weekday. Very orderly, with well laid out categorised bins.
Very well organised "tip" or recycling centre as they now call them. Helpful, friendly staff. Just try to avoid at peak times, ie bank holidays, busy times at weekends etc. You can check the peak times using Google maps search.
As a waste recycling function it does what it is supposed to do. My observations are: queues can be ridiculous even if you pic less popular times, the layout does not encourage speedy visits, opening hours have got less and it would seem the charges for certain day to day items (even soil!) came as a shock to most people. Sadly the council's attitude is "well you should look at our website regularly before visiting" and even more sadly.....the staff will tell you that almost 50% of visitors with chargeable waste leave in a temper........so where are they dumping the waste??? I have found most staff to be helpful. The whole charging for rubble, soil, tiles etc is ridiculous but the process the staff have to follow is a complete joke. Get your containers, tip them into their buckets, lift them high up to dispose into skip? Who on earth came up with that one?
First time I visited the centre . Organised and friendly helpful staff.. had to queue a bit.. it was a Monday
Not a huge amount you can say about a recycling centre. Did not wait too long, good opening times and staff really helpful and the place is well organised - Can't really ask for much. Why not 5 stars you ask, get the arrival time wrong and the wait can daunting
Great place for the job - although not sure about plans of possibly closing the facility, sometime this year
It does what it says on the tin and seems to be a well oiled operation. Staff are ok. I would suggest avoiding peak times as there are not many places to park up and so you could find yourself queueing to dump your waste.
Friendly and helpful team there that try to keep things moving. Still queues of 45 minutes or more at busy times though.
Top facility in Basingstoke for its residents to get rid of the big and heavy garbage.
Some of the staff are helpful, some are useless. HCC are charging to recycle things that used to be free.
They have always been friendly and helpful but I have supplied 2 stars due to the fact that they charge for certain items now while at the same time my council taxes road. Basingstoke recycle a minimum amount compared to other councils too.
Tends to have a lot of queues, maybe I just choose the wrong times, feel the layout limits the ability to service more people quickly. Staff are helpful and easy to dispose of most rubbish without a problem.
Well as much as you can love a rubbish dump! Staff are helpful, things are clearly marked. Only downside is the queues to get in.
Charge you £2.50 for 30l of soil, brick, concrete and rubble. Charge more if it is 30l of plasterboard
Good facilities for all your recycling needs gets busy at weekends and bank holidays
It was quite efficient. Maybe could have a little more signage up to guide you before you actually get to whichever waste point you need to use.
A place in Basingstoke where you can dump everything literally everything from household waste to furnitures to metals(I am not sure). The staffs are friendly and ready to help you out all the time. Really a busy place, full containers are constantly on the move. The only problem for you is you have to move your stuff here to dump it. The process is break it, move it and dump it. You might need large vehicle to move your stuff. I have seen people throwing usable furnitures and other structures too. I felt heavy, may be usable things can better go to charity shops than the recycle plant. Though, it's a personal choice, it would be nice to donate than dump! If you live around Basingstoke and looking for dumping those stuffs in your garage, store.....it's a perfect place. But hey! Before you dump separate and donate your usable stuffs to charity. Have a clean house. Cheers!
Turned up at 18:00 very relieved that they waved me in and all the staff unloaded my wood within minutes. I thanked them all very much great service
Really well organised household recycling centre, not too happy about the charging for rubble disposal though
Wait for ages and then they charge extra for disposing of rubbish. That said the staff are helpful.
Always ques, the opening hours get shorter every year, and half the parking spaces have cones stopping you from using them for no discernible reason.
theyve started charging for soil and rubble which came as a surprise, but every time I have been the staff are friendly and helpful
Quite a small waste centre and usually quite busy. Staff are friendly though and helpful.
Queue not too bad. Each bin is clearly marked and there are staff who are happy to give assistance if needed.
Like the Reading recycling centre used to be 20 years ago! - not much space and not under cover.
Staff friends day and helpful enough. At weekends and holiday season its as to be expected the queues to get in can be long and onto the main road so recommend going at a weekday outside of the usual term time breaks.
This is our local recycling facility. It's sufficiently large to accommodate 16 cars off loading simultaneously. The range of recycling items is reasonable and there is a small shop to drop off good stuff and to pick up a great bargain. The opening hours had been reduced recently so please check the Basingstoke Council website for their hours.
Far too small for such a big town ;had to queue twice as there is no bottle banks near the first set of recycling bays. Not enough staff and when you find a member they don't welcome queries or seem to help the older/weaker customers like I see in other centres
You can drop your rubbish off here, what's not to like? Get here at opening time, though, to avoid some long queues!
Always REALLY busy with queues to get in, which often stretch onto the road causing traffic chaos.
Visited the site a number of times and despite it getting busy, it's very well managed. So much better than Newbury and Reading.
Number one place to be on a sunday. If you have a van and don't have a magic commercial waiver prepare for a hard time. Get there early on the day as car queues get crazy.
