FRE Painters & Decorators is a Nottingham painting and decorating firm. Reviewers report proper preparation, including stripping back failed filler, treating a damp patch before painting, and prepping walls for microcement and Venetian plaster. Several describe tidy work with dust sheets and masking, and smooth even finishes on walls and woodwork. One reviewer says a quote request was answered the same evening and paint options were discussed beforehand, and another reports the price matched the quote with no extras. One reviewer reports that a job finished a day earlier than expected, while others report timelines agreed in advance.
I'd had a go at the hallway myself and the filler showed through everywhere once the light hit it. FRE Painters & Decorators stripped it back, made good properly and told me why it had happened. The second coat went on after the first was actually dry, which sounds obvious until you've watched someone rush it. They masked the carpet and the bannister and nothing got on either. It doesn't look like the same wall now.
The front room came out better than the sample suggested free painters and decorators prepped it properly instead of just rolling over the paint
Sent a quote request through the site and heard back that same evening. Before I booked in they went through paint options with me which actually helped since I was stuck between two finishes. Lounge and hallway took two days and it moved along at a steady pace without feeling rushed.
had FRE do microcement in our downstairs bathroom and a feature wall in the hallway, two different jobs same visit basically. the bathroom is what I really want to talk about though. we had old tiles, grotty grout, the lot. they took it all back, prepped the walls, and applied the microcement over a few days. you have to let each layer cure properly so it wasnt a rush job but they explained the timeline up front so I knew what to expect. the finish is genuinely beautiful, soft grey with this slight texture you can see when the light hits it. no grout lines anywhere which was the whole point for us. sealed it properly so water just beads off. the hallway wall was a darker tone and they got the two to complement without matching exactly which is what I asked for. couple of months in now and it still looks like the day they finished. proper specialist work
Really pleased with how the living room turned out. lads from FRE were polite, got stuck in straight away and didnt mess about. walls look mint, the colour match on the alcoves is spot on. they put down dust sheets everywhere and the place was tidy when they left. price was what they quoted, no extras sneaking in at the end. Been a few weeks and still looks the same as the day they finished.
Had a damp patch in the hallway that previous decorators just kept painting over and it bled through every time. These lads actually dealt with the cause first, let it dry out properly, then primed and skimmed before any paint went on. Asked around a few Nottingham decorators before booking and they were the only ones who suggested doing it that way. Six months later the wall still looks like the day they finished. No staining coming back through.
FRE decorated our bedroom and landing, fresh walls and new colour on all the woodwork. even coverage, no drips and they finished a day earlier than expected
