I called in advance for some help and advice with a broken PVC door locking system not working. I spoke to somebody in the head office who was extremely helpful. Gave me all the prices and information that was required and assured me that a visit to my local shop would get everything fixed. I visited the shop and as promised everything was supplied and fitted by the brilliant Steve. Excellent customer service. Would definitely recommend for all your locksmith needs.

I cannot praise this company enough they have sorted a broken front door lock quickly efficiently and the prices compared to another local company we called initially (was an emergency and although it was also a totton number we thought we were calling these guys) was a fraction and I mean a fraction of the other company who said the part we needed was £680 I paid £165 - for the part and fitting ! 5 stars !!

Needed the Totton branch for a replacement barrel and keys for a friend who's son had lost his keys at school. The person at the branch was outstanding going above and beyond to help us on the phone and even offered to wait after closing if we were later getting there. I visited this shop to obtain new internal door latches. The level of service I received was very good. I was able to return a latch that didn't fit and the owner then sourced the correct size for me. I would visit this shop again in the future for similar locks and door furniture.
Having been to an alternative company, to cut some keys and being told I was too late in the day (even though they didn’t close for another hour), I decided to drive further and try SSL. So glad that I did. The guy was extremely helpful and was happy to help, even though they were closing in 20 minutes. Customer service is hard to find, but I found it today at Southern Stronghold. Best place to get your key cut. Only £5.70 for a standard key in 2023 (other keys may be much more). Good selection of locks at good prices. Loads of cool key related things great customer service

Steve at Southern Stronghold has been looking after us for many years now and is always a fountain of knowledge. He's helped with some obscure things we've needed such as key cabinets and door handles and we've never had a key cut here that we had to return as it didn't work which is amazing.
Managed to cut me a new key for my bike using the key code, saved me hundreds of pounds on new locks. Friendly, knowledgeable and quick service. Perfect
Guy was really helpful and pointed me in the right direction although he was very rude to a girl who came in behind me. Price was higher than anywhere else charges but it was very handy not to have to travel further to somewhere busy during these times. I probably wouldn’t return unless I needed advice.

Needed an unusual key cut. They didn't have the blank to do the job and I was told it wasn't worth their while ordering any. I thought maybe he was having a bad day, so I asked if I could order the blanks or pay his costs? No. I asked where I could get the key cut. No idea was the answer. I asked if he had any solution, maybe replace the lock? Not interested. I visited what I thought was an expert, unfortunately they were unhelpful and rude. I don't know where else to go, but don't recommend these people.

Have used these for many years for keys, car key batteries. Went in for a car key battery for my Vectra. Guy wasn't interested and didn't want to know. Won't be going back there again
Went to cut three sets of keys. The guys were very friendly and helpful. Im surprised to read some negative comments below..
I went into Southern Stronghold today hoping to get my key copied. The man told me that the key I had was "Cheap Chinese rubbish"and couldn't be replaced so my only solution was to replace the whole lock unit! Fortunately logic kicked in and I had the sense to get a second opinion,I tried the nearest other locksmith I could think of(the small shop in the Marlands center)they copied the key easily in less than a minute and it works perfectly! I don't know whether the chap in Totton is less skillful or simply has less resources at his disposal but either way what he told me was nonsense. I won't be going back there!
Have used Southern Stronghold on multiple occasions over the last 15 years for everything from high security locks and safes to key cutting and have always had helpful, unbiased service. Why go anywhere else?
