Amberley security in Copnor Portsmouth are exceptionally skilled locksmiths. They recently restored a 90 year old French lock for me - including hand making a key. They had to fix the botched efforts of other, so called, locksmiths. I wholeheartedly recommend them without the slightest reservation.
Efficient service -Lewis explained well any queries that I had with the system. He changed the battery which was causing the caution sign to light on the panel. At the same time he replaced all batteries on the sensors to keep them all updated

Bought security camera and had it installed. Some months later stopped recording and asked for password to be reinserted. As Amberley installed with password phoned and asked for password. It didn't work and told it would cost £100 for engineer to come out and reset. Not impressed. Poor service

I have used Amberley Security for many years for both my business and home locksmith needs. I have always found them knowledgeable, skilled and their customer service has been second to none. When I returned from a brief trip last Wednesday afternoon I found that I could not open the locked front door. By Friday lunchtime the issue was resolved with the parts needed coming from the stock held at their workshop. Their charges were also very reasonable.

On going support will just be as expected by a local supplier who has been in the security business for approx 100 years, I believe. Couldn’t speak more highly of their services. My parents managed to break their front door handle and locking mechanism on Christmas Eve… managed to get it locked but unusable, so a side door and gate had to be used to over the Christmas period. They contacted this company on the 29th, and on the 30th of December they came out, assessed the issue, returned to their shop to get the necessary parts, returned to my parents house and we had a whole new door locking mechanism, all within 30 minutes, and all for a very reasonable price. Fantastic local company who from reading have been servicing the doors of Portsmouth for many years. I will be recommending their services to any friends or family who need any locksmith services in the future.
I have used Amberley Security for over 25 years for my home security needs. They have fit my house with the alarm system, regularly serviced it and changed door locks etc for me when needed. John, Scott and their team are always thoroughly professional. When you call them you get a human at the end of the phone, someone who is an expert at what they do and come out to you in a reasonable timeframe to do the job. They have been in Portsmouth since 1927 and I would urge all to support a local business.
Called Amberley Security on a Sunday evening as I had locked myself out of the house. Lewis turned up within the hour and I was back inside within less than 5 minutes. What a tremendous relief. A very professional & friendly service.

I had an issue with access to my work safe ( a big old Chubb about 40 years old), they came out the same day and sorted it, would thoroughly recommend Amberley Security, they are not your average locksmiths and very reasonable especially if it's something like a safe. Very Happy .

Very happy with the service and Scott was quick to provide the quote and gave me various options having listened to what I needed and helped me to make an informed decision on what would be best. After the initial installation, the system was fine-tuned remotely and then Lewis came to finalise the installation and gave me a tour of the system and its capabilities. Amberley came to my rescue! I bought an alarm from another company, who for some reason could not complete the installation. That other company were unhelpful to start and then ignored me. That’s when I contacted Amberley. They were so helpful and understanding and even though they’d not supplied the original alarm, came to my rescue and fixed what the previous company had been unwilling and unable to do! They were helpful, knowledgeable and provided some much needed advice that meant I can now forward plan the next steps with my home security and automation. We decided to have cameras fitted on our property. We did get other quotes but we were taken by the friendly approach of Amberly Security and professional assessment of our requirements. Scott and Lewis came out on time and did a very professional survey and the quote was back within 24 hours. The day of the installation they were delayed with another job but kept us in the picture of their expected eta. A nice touch. The fitting was very professional and the setting up on our tv was achieved with no problems and very little disruption. Lewis did have to return with a connecting cable but again arrived as promised and installed as he said he would. All the team made you feel comfortable. this was very strange story so ears peeled, most people lock them selves out of there homes, but me it was the other way round, in fact i had locked myself in. What a great company. I took a mortice lock to another company who could only quote £69 for a new lock. Dropped in on Amberley instead who took it to bits and got it working for no charge. Longer term they can make 2 new keys to fit the existing lock for only £26. Great service, I strongly recommend them.

You don’t really think about locks until they go wrong. My sister called me, the lock had failed outside my Dad’s house and she and my 85 year old Dad couldn’t get in. I kid you not, an operative was passing and had them back in the house in under three minutes. They responded super-quick to making the lock safe on the next working day. Parts of the lock were reused to keep costs down. These are the good guys. I’m so grateful.

Very expensive! 18 pounds just for cutting a key,no blank just to cut a key,1 min job,done this 3 months ago,in Portswood/SO cost me 6.99,exactly same key model,sorry guys but this is just too much for this service!

I would just like to say a big thank you to amberley security. I have been trying to get a key cut for a padlock for a while now without any luck. Used 2 other different companies, going backwards and forwards cutting and re-cutting, trying it in the lock but the keys just haven't worked. A friend suggested amberley, so took the key I had cut and the original to them as my last hope, the young man told me exactly what was wrong with it and that it had been cut too deep. So he cut me a new one. Took it home and it fitted and worked perfectly. Was beginning to think it just couldn't be done. But it was actually a case of it just wasn't being done properly. So a massive thank you to amberley security 👍😁

Excellent service from Amberley Security. I have just had the super secure Ultion locks fitted to our front and back doors. The survey was carried out and then the locks were fitted at the time they said they'd be here. Very friendly guy fitted the locks for us, there was zero mess and it was all done in super quick time too! Would 100% recommend the Amberley Security experts for any security requirements!
If I could rate zero I would. I had a broken lock but ten minutes after phoning I managed to fix the problem myself so called again and cancelled the survey visit. However a miserable old man from the company just turned up and when I opened my door greeted me with “well obviously there isn’t a problem woth your door love is there” I proceeded to explain I did phone and cancel the job to which he responded “yeah right I wish you bloody had rather than wasted my time” then slammed the block entrance door shut! Honestly pathetic.
Very friendly local locksmith with different services they can offer, they cut keys whilst you wait and had a range of different locks in that worked where we needed them and were able to match the keys to both locks. I have used them on several occasions and will be going back again.
Fantastic service, always arrive quickly and work tremendously hard to get things sorted for us each time we call them for issues within the Business Centre I manage. Nothing is too much bother. Would 100% recommend.
Ridiculously overpriced - £130 to open a simple lock, took the locksmith 2 seconds. As a student this is just crazy.
Fantastic service for key cutting. Done whilst you wait. However, most importantly the person who served me had a smile on his face and was so pleasant. That makes a huge difference. If only everybody in shops could be like that, it would be a real pleasure to go out. Thank you.
Used Ambereley to supply, cut and programme a spare ignition key for a recently purchased horse box. Very prompt, very efficient and very reasonably priced. would certainly use again.
This shop is the first place I try whenever I need any new locks or keys cut. Always very good service.
