What can I say.......stumbled across this company purely by accident and I am so glad I did. From the very initial phone call, to the swift visit made by Julie and Norman to my home, I knew instantly that I was not going to look elsewhere! Both Julie and Norman afforded me a great deal of time and patience in trying to configurate my cloakroom, which was a bit of a challenge, but succeeded where other companies had failed. Their attention to detail and professionalism was paramount. I also had a deadline of before Christmas to complete, which was very short notice - but Hale & Murray pulled out all the stops to adhere to this! I am so pleased with my cloakroom and ensuite that I have asked them to quote for other work which is needed in the home. The fitter was also polite, tidy and hardworking. I have no hesitation in recommending Hale & Murray to anyone.
From the day we first tentatively walked into Hale and Murray's showroom in Poole to the day when the fitters left us, having completed our new kitchen, dealing with this friendly but ultra-professional company has been a joy. We cannot sing the praises of Julie Stevens, their designer, enough: she was a source of endless inspiration and sound advice on what would and would not work, with all the patience needed to let us discover for ourselves that she really did know her stuff. A tour round the workshops at the back of the showroom left us convinced that we were dealing with people who could adapt and who had the capability to really achieve our dreams, unlike so many kitchen companies who simply use standard units. Having come up with a design, the way the Hale and Murray team were able to fit in with our schedule of works, bringing together different strands in what became a slightly complicated project, was excellent. Their installers were friendly, helpful and had the discretion to adapt as the work progressed. They worked fast but thoroughly and the various sub-contractors who assisted them, from plasterers to electricians, quartz installers and plumbers, were all high quality. The end result was a kitchen they can be proud of and that we are very proud of. Many thanks to Norman, to Julie, Brian and to all the team: we would have no hesitation in using you again for any job. What we will remember most is the good humour that pervaded the project; we laughed a lot during the time we spent with you.
Hale & Murray have excelled again! They fitted our previous kitchen 26 years ago which we were thrilled with & it was still looking good, their aftercare customer service has also been exceptional. Last year we decided to reconfigure our kitchen & garage to create a kitchen/diner & separate utility room. There was only ever one choice for us as far as kitchen fitting was concerned – Hale & Murray. This time Norman & Julie worked out the kitchen design from our architect’s plan, tweaking slightly as the build progressed. We also decided to fit units & a sink along one wall of the utility room. A year later, the end result is amazing & has exceeded our expectations. We would definitely recommend Hale & Murray, they’ve again proved to be professional, efficient & a pleasure to deal with from start to finish.

We are very happy that H&M fitted our kitchen this month. One of the problems with choosing a kitchen supplier is that it is difficult for a non-specialist to distinguish high quality from low quality. H&M don't trumpet their quality but it is apparent from casual remarks. For example, it is usual for the backs of cabinets to be fibre board with a bar above to provide strength; the backs of H&M's are made from the same material as the sides. It is usual for an undermounted sink to be glued to the bottom of the worktop; the glue will eventually loosen; H&M sandwich theirs between the worktop and a lower board. H&M buy in the doors but make their own cabinets; this allows sizes and depths to be adjusted to suit the room. The manufacturers they use again emphasise quality over cost; the drawers, drawer runners, and hinges are made by Blum. The runners are rated to 70kg. H&M is a 'Which trusted trader' and a member of the KBSA; very few are. KBSA protects the customer deposit. This gives piece of mind; all kitchen suppliers ask for a significant deposit with order. The Which scheme is an assessment of customer happiness, business practices and financial stability. Because it is a small team they communicate well. If someone agrees something, everyone seems to know, so it gets done. For example we asked for thermal insulation in the cavity behind the units; unusual but it was fitted without us reminding the fitters. Everyone was always very friendly and helpful. Designing a kitchen is a very step-by-step process and there was never any push to order. By contrast, we had visited a provider in Kinson, who wouldn't let us even photograph the plans and wanted as to order that week as prices were going to rise; strangely, when the deadline passed, it turned out that he had been able to pre-order units at the old price. The fitters take a real pride in their work, it is very high quality and neat. Obviously H&M employ subcontractors for some of the work, builders, electricians, plasterers, plumbers, and, of course, the worktop suppliers. They have the same ethos as H&M. H&M fully project manage the work. Before the start, they produced a, surprisingly useful, day by day description of who was going to be working and what was going to happen. When it changed, in our case always to earlier, we had a phone call or text to check it would be okay. We are extremely happy with our new kitchen. We spent a lot of time considering different options and made many visits to H&M. Julie and Norman were always welcoming, understanding and helpful - patient beyond bounds with all our questions (and changes of mind.) We thoroughly recommend them.
We had our kitchen fitted over eight years ago and I called Hale & Murray to ask how I could remove the carousel unit so we could access the incoming mains. Without prompting the next day Bryan came around and removed the unit !! ... I offered payment but he refused. A really excellent local company who go the extra mile and offer first class quality and service as standard. - Thanks again !
Had my second kitchen fitted last year by Hale and Murray, fantastic service, from design to fitting superb. Can't wait to have them do my bathroom's.
Outstanding professional service and products with exceptional attention to detail from the initial planning through to completion. Hale and Murray undertook an entire apartment renovation for me, replacing the kitchen, two bathrooms and supplying fitted wardrobes to both bedrooms. Additionally they co-ordinated plumbing, electrics, decorators and flooring with a completion time of three months. A brilliant family business with another delighted client. What a find on coming to live in Dorset! I can't recommend them more highly.
More recent work undertaken was fine. However, the vinyl wrap on most of the doors on cupboards that came included with the house sheered away from the doors over time. Julie advised us this was a worldwide glue problem. Wasn't in agreement with them as to exact liability and their cost price quote for replacement was 40% higher than an alternative quote who also replaced more of the doors in a very professional manner.
Main bedroom fitted out with made to measure furniture. The service was very professional from the initial survey through to finish. The furniture is very high quality and at least as important, the fitting was done to an extremely high standard, with very close attention to detail. Matching shelves and a mirror were also made to go with the units. Hale & Murray employ their own excellent fitters. It doesn't matter how good the product is, if the fitting is poor. The quality of the fitting is every bit as good as the product.

Contacted this company from a friends recommendation and had our bedroom fitted out with new wardrobes and a dressing table , what a great job they made of it from start to finish they were very professional.
When you are having work done in your home that involves removing a wall to combine a separate WC and Bathroom, and building a new En-suite, you definitely need a company that you can trust implicitly. I chose Hale and Murray because they are an established, friendly family run business and they gave me the confidence that they would carry out the work to a high standard. A schedule of works was produced involving Builders, Plasterers, Plumber, Electrician and their own fitter. All of these were prompt, polite, tidy and worked well as a team. The end result is superb and I would have no hesitation using them again or recommending them to others.

We had a problem with the doors of our bedroom furniture supplied by a well known National Company. The veneer finish became detached and when the Company was approached did not want to rectify the problem. So it left us with no alternative but to find an option to resolve this problem. Fortunately I contacted Hale and Murray who were absolutely fantastic. Norman Murray and Julie visited us and advised us that there was a World wide problem with the adhesive. They suggested that the only alternative was to replace the doors which was achieved in very quick time and arranged for fitting. The overall effect is superb and we would thoroughly recommend this wonderful friendly family Company to anybody.
This company may be good for fitted kitchens but I couldn’t recommend them for fitted wardrobes. The measurements for the wardrobes and matching dressing table and bedside cabinets was very casual and rushed and as a result the dressing table was far too large for the room and the bedside cabinets were too small! They did alter the dressing table for me but I felt a little more care with the planning and measurements would have meant a far better result. They seemed really quite disinterested at that stage of the process
