I called A&R in the morning and explained how I had no heating or hot water and they sent someone over that afternoon. It was Myles working on it and he quickly identified the issue (a faulty expansion vessel) and clearly explained it to me which I appreciated. He managed to fix it in the interim while the part that needed replacing was ordered. The following day, I went to book in the next step and they fit me in on that day so that I would be sorted ahead of the Easter bank holiday weekend. Super super grateful for everything being done so quickly and really pleased with everything. Myles is great!

Been a customer 20 years service has just slowly deteriorated. Monthly debit gone up and i dont think its unreasonable to expect a call once a year for £300. (they seem unable to phone me to arrange an appointment.)

We initially had no hot water. When the technician came out the first time, the issue was not fixed. I called again, and the operator assured me that a second visit would be arranged and that I would not be charged for the first call-out since the job had not been completed properly. During the second visit, the issue was resolved, and I paid the invoice presented at that time. However, several months later I received an email claiming that I still had an outstanding balance. When I contacted the company, I was told that no such promise had been made and that the cost had supposedly been split across two invoices. I was disappointed by this response, particularly being contacted on Christmas Eve and being told that I was “misremembering” the conversation. Regardless of internal billing practices, this was not a pleasant or professional approach to customer service. While I acknowledge that I should have requested written confirmation, I expected the company to honour what was clearly communicated to me over the phone.

I highly recommend A+R Central Heating. Myles did an excellent job on my boiler, completed the work quickly and perfectly, and was very friendly.

Huge thank you to Myles for helping repair my boiler. Boiler fixed in the same day thankfully being as it's quite cold at the moment! Myles was very helpful and knowledgeable - explained his thought process as he was identifying the issue as well as explaining the cause and fix when getting the boiler up and running again. Great communication as well - prior to arrival he gave me a call twice to keep me updated when he will arrive (one for his general schedule and second when he was on his way). My Vaillant boiler broke down. Found A&R on the ‘net after a few other firms didn’t get back to me. A&R engineer came as promised within 48hrs, identified the issue, had the spare part on the van, boiler fixed! Splendid service all round, from the first phone call to the engineer leaving. HIGHLY impressed & recommend 10/10.

Excellent online training program provided by master coach Tony Morgan. By far the most informative and easy to understand online training program out there.

Called to request an emergency call out for a broken boiler. On the phone was told that engineer will come and asses the fault end quote for repair. I can then decide if I want to go ahead with repair or not, no mention on any cost. I asked twice to confirm, they said yes. Engineer came within an hour, which was very good. Done few check, turned out spark needed cleaning, 5 min job. Cleaned it and boiler worked again, great. Asked him how much, he said it's nothing to do with him and I need to contact head office. Hour later head office ranger and said £180 for a call out. The price is ridiculously high, at no point anyone said it will cost that much, otherwise I would have never go ahead. I made a compliant about it, customer service admitted there were errors made on their side, I should have been told the price and received an invoice prior attendance, which I never did. Next day manager called Tony ranged me. Straight on defense, accusing me of lying and saying that they have done nothing wrong. Asked him to listen to the call, apparently they don't record calls, but that's not what previous person told me. Eventually after going back and forth he agreed to reduce the price to £120, which is way to high anyway considering what was done and what is the normal call out price (£60-80). He also voided my 30 day repair warranty. Few days later I called another engineer to book full service on the boiler. He said that online companies such as this are just a middle man/call centres. They don't employ any of the engineers, they are self employed men "on call". When they need one they call around the area and pay them fix charge ex £100 (he has done it himself). And the actual price they quote to customer is normally 2,3 times that. It would make sense as there is no prices on their website and Tony said it's because they might change any time.... To sum up do not use this company, they have good reviews but are way overpriced. Do some research and find local engineer who has his own business, you will save a lot of money and get good customer service. For them you just another number they can charge what they want.

Highly recommended. The issue with the pressure gauge was resolved without needing to replace it. All good.

Very efficient. Found that the issue with the boiler was a new fan needed. Returned the following day to fit. The property it is located in is on the market so didn't need its annual service. Second time we've had to call them out since the house was empty. Both times job completed within 2 days.

Quick call back, great advice over the phone and someone was soon round to fix the boiler. Everything was left neat and tidy with an explanation of what had likely happened and the actions taken to resolve. Will happily use again in the future.

Nothings but good things to say about my dealings with A+R. I was in Manchester and my Mum’s boiler broke, A+R got a lovely chap called Miles out the next day but unfortunately the boiler that was older than the engineer had heated its last radiator. A replacement boiler was ordered and fitted by another lovely chap called John, it was done within the week too. The price of the whole affair seemed to be on point with the market maybe towards the top end but you get what you pay for and other smaller and marginally cheaper companies needed weeks if not months to have the availability to get the job done! Boiler works great and overall nothing to complain about. Top job!

I made an enquiry and received a call the next morning, where I was told someone would be with us between 12:00 and 12:30. I waited in, only to call at 12:45 and be told it was actually an all day appointment. My time was completely wasted. I was then told someone would call me back the same day to rearrange, nobody did. Very poor communication and a frustrating experience.

I had an issue with a leak on my electric boiler and called A+R. The engineer Miles came and fixed the issue efficiently . I had to leave for an appointment and left my mother in the house while he was there and she states what a pleasant young man he was. I would definately use this company again.

Thank you to Tony and his colleague for their hard work and technical knowledge in repairing our Ariston Cylinders limkrd to Baxi boilers. Admittedly the cylinders we’re a little old via the emersion heaters and other hardware issues with the set up. Timely. Tidy. Went out to source the right parts after finding subsequent issues. Reasonable quote ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ After a different company flooded my house through trying to fix the water tank (and I mean niagara falls over the banister and down the stairs, dripping through the ceilings) the owner of this company (Tony I think) video called me to inspect the work and provide a quote. The parts were ordered and he sent an engineer out the following day for the boiler. Following that, the office called to confirm and arrange delivery of the water tank and a time slot for the engineer to come once the parts were delivered. They arrived on time, completed the work and left my house as they found it. Polite and considerate engineers with a follow up call from the owner of the company to check the work. My first port of call next time. Thank you.

This company and their staff are absolutely reliable. If you think reliability and service quality is your priority, you must consider to choose them. My old boiler has water leak last week. They came to check quickly. This is not the first time they came to my home for boiler check and work for it. They always arrive on time (This is very important as a service provider!!! Especially for every time I need them to fix the urgent issues). My old gas boiler needed to be changed to a new electrical one. My building don't have lift, but they move the new boiler from the ground to the top floor to my home and replace them. They has then arranged a pair of electrician and plumber to come to my home for installation in the next day. They are very professional and I am so impressive to their working attitudes. I know this could be one of the difficult task they need to solve as they have to dismantling the old boiler and replacing the new one from gas system to the electrical one. But they actually did this. They worked for long hours (a whole day) and finally the installation is completed in a perfect way. They also helped to move the giant old boiler away from my apartment. All of us have checked several things and they gave me a brief induction to me on how to use the new boiler before they left. I highly appreciated their works indeed. Now, I have used the new boiler for nearly 3 days after their work. Everything goes well without any issue. They deserve to have a genuine compliment for their hard work. Excellent Services, Strong Punctuality, High Quality Works, Great Commitment. I highly recommend them!

Needed to get an electric boiler serviced and booked it easily over email. The engineer (Myles) was great - he called to say he was on his way, checked the hot water and central heating systems thoroughly, and showed me how to use the system efficiently for my needs. Really happy with the experience.

Myles with a 'y' arrived, did an excellent job and got my heating and hot water back on. As well as doing an excellent job he was professional, polite and smiley - important because there's nothing worse than miserable sods fixing stuff in your home. In preparation Tony (presumably also with a 'y') called me the evening before to get some boiler details so that they were clear about the model they were dealing with. I was immediately reassured that this was a professional company. My only quibble was that I wasn't warned that my original verbal quote could more than double if parts were needed since parts aren't included in the quote. I suppose I should have realised and asked the question since I already suspected a part would be needed. A part was indeed needed, the original quote leapt from £204 to over £500, my heart did an accompanying leap as I read the invoice, and I almost fell off my sofa. However, the company did an outstanding job and I would definitely use them again. Tony was kind enough to call me when he received my shocked and admittedly blunt email. Thank you Myles for an excellent job. Thank you Tony for not being arsey with me when I queried the invoice. Thank you lady who booked me a fast visit (less than 24hrs - fab!) in the first place and who's name I unfortunately didn't get.

I was attended by Mr.Amir Mirza Baig who is new to boiler repairs. He drove your company’s van. The task was to replace the Honeywell 2 port valve. The guy replaced this but in the process didn’t connect the wires properly leading to no hot water. Tried to contact him the next day and he has switched off his mobile number. Disgusting person ever.

The engineer took about 60 mins to repair the boiler. He got it working and will be fixing it tomorrow with a new part. So far pleased with the service its very friendly personnel.

Tony came out to my daughter's apartment after he'd already had a full day after a cold snowy weekend. He did the job that was requested (new wireless Thermostat) and eliminated the problem that was causing her boiler to cut out and did a temporary fix to prevent this happening and now awaiting a revisit. I would recommend Tony and A + R Boilers, reception staff pleasant to deal with every time we called.

My boiler was on the fritz. I told them what was wrong with it, the make and model and they knew the problem without coming to look at it. They got it fixed the next day very quickly with no issues.

Excellent service all around! I had a water tank fall off the wall creating multiple leaks. I called up and was put through to Tony. I sent a few pictures of the issue and Tony got back to me with a plan of action and a good quote. Tony sent Ali to complete the task. He was very polite, talked me through the job and did excellent work to a high standard. I would 100% recommend A+R central heating!

Tony and the team went above and beyond. I have quite an old boiler which had a leak in a copper pipe, very upfront saying that it will be a difficult repair and would need the whole system draining. Took the entire system to bits to get at this pipe, soldered up the join and put in a new pump. It definitely cost a bit but it was a lot of labour, and cheaper than a whole new boiler

They gave me a 2 hour window as I was travelling up from London and everything went swimmingly. The plumbers called before, arrived on time, fixed the boiler. Really nice guys but I didn’t catch their names. Would highly recommend this company, so used to getting ‘computer says no’ approach from others, but it was great to have the human touch.

Needed the boiler fixing asap as no heating coming from the radiator for the past couple of days. Quick response from A+R Central Heating, managed to come the next morning to look, fix and complete a boiler service. Highly recommend them.

The whole team were great. Tony was willing to try to fix the boiler despite a heat blast melting a lot of the interior. Unfortunately, the heat had warped it so badly that noxious fumes leaked when he put the boiler on. Even so, they got a new boiler fitted 3 days after Christmas. Isaac and his colleague(didnt get his name)were efficient and caused minimum disruption. The company charged only for the new installation, and absorbed the cost of the repair that didn't work. Great experience, despite noone wanting to have a failed boiler at Christmas.

It's never a good day when your boiler goes, thankfully A+R responded quickly and Mark came out the next morning. He made a real effort to be as transparent as possible, he talked me through the fault, demonstrated what was wrong and even encouraged me to research online. It's a large, safety critical repair and an older boiler so I asked them to provide pricing for repair and new installation which they were happy to do.

Mark and Miles came next day and fixed my 30 year old boiler, they had to call twice as they had to get a part from Oldham. They did a fantastic job. I can recommend these engineers. Next day. It failed again. But they came back and had another go at it. Working again. Touch wood it will keep working now. One hour later. But no. Now it's dead as a dodo.

My extremely old Vaillant combi boiler (Vaillant VCW / VC) which apparently is one of the most complex ancient boilers to repair stopped providing hot water. I was fully expecting to shell out thousands for a new replacement boiler but after working their magic the boiler is back from the dead. Contacted A and R for a call out due CH not working correctly [Amptec Electric Boiler] . Their response was very swift and the engineer (Mark) very quickly got to work, after various tests diagnosed that the system was air-locked which he systematically bled and the pump requires replacing. Great to see an experienced engineer accurately troubleshooting and keen to get it fixed. Just waiting on the pump replacement now will update this review once fully complete but so far VERY impressed!

My landlord arranged an A+R engineer to fix our water cylinder (immersion heater). The fuse switch tripped and cylinder wouldn't turn on, an A+R engineer (Mark) came out to replace the power switch. Was working for a few days but then the cylinder wouldn't fully heat up. Had another engineer (Tony) come to replace the thermostat. I cannot comment on the cost (nor on Mark as my flatmate was in instead of me at that time), but Tony replaced the thermostat in 20mins and was very friendly. He called to inform me he would be coming in around an hour and again later to say he was nearly there. Much appreciated. I dealt with Tony over the phone at the very beginning when the fuse switch tripped and when I said that my landlord would get back via email with pictures and schedule a date/time etc., he rang back later in the day saying he had not received an email. (It was actually sent though might have just been missed, but) I appreciate him following up on the issue and telling me he was still expecting an email. My landlord has been dealing with A+R boilers exclusively via email and I believe they are sending prompt replies considering how quickly they have arranged engineers to come out (within 1-2 days).

Great service from start to finish. I have a Vaillant boiler and the heating wasn’t working, Mark came out and detected the issue straight away. The diverter valve needed replacing and Mark checked that I was ok with the price/ work to be carried out before ordering the part. Once confirmed, he went to collect the part, returned and fixed the boiler, all within a hour. After fixing the boiler, Mark kindly checked a few of the radiators that I had issues with. Also, long after he left, I had a glitch with my thermostat, I contacted Mark and he talked me through how to resolve the issue over the phone. He answered all of my many questions. Top guy, very efficient and genuine. Like many others, I also spoke to Andrea who was polite and friendly, no surprises when invoice came through as expectation was managed. I'm extremely grateful to Mark who came out to diagnose and repair my overheating electric boiler. No joke, an accidental fire started in my kitchen, with flames and black smoke looking to spread. Hearing my shout, Mark came to the kitchen, asking me to get out, went and turned the main switch in the consumer unit off, opened all the windows and doors, and started to tackle the fire himself...his quick thinking and action prevented a disaster. I honestly don't know what would have happen if Mark didn't happen to be there on the day. He is a hero and performed above and beyond his duties. He then returned after a few days to finish the diagnose and ordered the failing sensor, and returned again with Tony to finish the job. My boiler is up and running again and I'm a more than just a happy customer. Well done A+R Central Heating for having an excellent team, and for the wonderful customer care throughout.

Boiler probs and no hot water I tried to reset/restart boiler to no avail so called A&R boilers who sent Mark out within a few hours - he called before arrival letting us know he was on route and found a part had gone so had to order a new one. He managed to source a part (they had 1 left ) so he drove straight over to get it and fit it the same day. This was no small job either as we have an old Worcester boiler which is in a cupboard under the stairs in a confined space which didn’t give him much room for manoeuvre but he managed it. He also found a pipe had a crack in it so picked up the part the following morning and had that fixed quickly. Job well done so big thanks to Mark and A&R

Great experience with this company! Not only did they come out the same day when our boiler broke down, but they then returned a week later after we were still having issues. Mark was especially thorough, waiting around to observe the boiler and check it was working on his second visit. Mark did a great job on our Viessmann boiler. We needed an emergency call out as our hot water stopped working, a nightmare as we just got home with our newborn. Phoned this morning regarding no heating and hot water, the receptionist was so helpful, we had our boiler fixed the same day! Tony was brilliant very friendly and efficient. We can ow put our radiators back on 😀

Had boiler installed with minimal delay had a few issues with it leaking and knocking so engineers came back a few times prompt and call centre proactive. Overall boiler has good energy rating. If hot taps on in kitchen it will affect shower though.

Very professional. First group of engineers that was called messed it up, they came and fixed the problem. Explain everything thoroughly. Happy about everything as the leakage would’ve got worse and dangerous.

Good service, fixed quickly and efficiently... but beware it is very expensive. I was quoted £220 for repairs with parts, so I was unprepared for the bill of £417.60 (£150 labour plus VAT for half an hour max, £198 plus VAT for new fan).

EXTREMELY PRICEY!!! Compared to other companies I used, just paid £180 for a call out charge They also quoted £2,100 to buy and fit a new boiler I rang up another company they are charging £1,250 Almost a grand difference It would have been understandable if it was £100-£200 difference but not a £1000 difference!! My regular guy his mum passed away that’s the reason I contacted these guys - I have few property’s and always use companies now and then but the prices this company quotes it’s just TOOOO much!!

Very good customer service following a leak with our gas boiler. After ringing around several other plumbers that did not respond to mobile phone calls (one did call back the following day to say send a text message) I got through to A+R Central Heating & Boiler Repairs and they sent an engineer round the same day. He did not have the correct part to fix the boiler but came back the following day and carried out the repair. I was kept fully informed by email of when the engineer would visit.

After contacting 15 other companies A+R arranged for Mark to fix my electric combi boiler, Mark came as agreed, had a difficult job but he did a great job fixing my boiler with awesome results. I can't thank you enough.

Have used this company a year ago to repair a Gledhill Boilermate. They were success where 3 other companies had failed. Few companies will touch Gledhill Boilermate. The Boilermate stopped working again (a year later) due to a different fault. They came out reasonably quickly, had the part and repaired it. The repair wasn’t cheap but was what I expected for a new circuit board, clock repair and labour charge.

At short notice the company not only arranged a quick appointment for the repair, much more timely than bigger companies (I'm looking at you British Gas!) but they were also courteous, professional and very tidy, all for a very good price. In summary, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

Initially seemed quite good, came out quickly and what I thought repaired our boiler. Before the guy left my house, I felt a bit pressured into doing a 5 star review on here but as I thought the issue was resolved, I thought ok no problem. 2 weeks later I had further issues and called another company due to A&R not responding to me. When fixing the boiler, they either damaged the seal or hadn’t noticed the seal was damaged which led to a completely new boiler.

Great service from Tony. The engineer who ordered the parts was here for 2 hours and didn't really know what was wrong with my boiler. Straight away, Tony figured out what the issue was (the boiler had overheated cause I'd turned all but 1 of my radiators off). He also told me my thermostat wasn't broken, when the previous engineer had. Same company, 2 different experiences. Thanks Tony for saving the day! :)

He managed to diagnose the issue from a video I had sent him prior to him coming out which made for a speedy service and I knew a rough cost for the work before he even arrived. Called the office as my boiler was making a loud noise and woke me up at 5am so had to turn off. Tony said he’d get out to me today and kept me updated throughout on ETA. He found the issue within 20 mins and had the part to fix there and then, only a few hours without heating which is amazing - super friendly and professional, will definitely be using again!

I would just like to thank Tony for his help fixing our Biasi boiler. He was very knowledgeable, thorough and helped enormously by diagnosing and fixing the problem. His service was fantastic, and the work of the team at A and R was very professional. I appreciate that quick and prompt emergency service comes at a premium, but for me it was a price worth paying.
