My experience with Montrose was very stressful, on the website it says that I could have a cat flap in 4/5 days, when I spoke with Jamie from the office he told me 7/10 days the latest, I agreed and unfortunately I had chased them out because the 10 days was coming to a end and I felt like I was ignored, which made very unhappy, finally after day 11th Clark a very nice guy came and did a brilliant job but I wouldn’t recommend unless you’re willing to wait … the company is good but the quality of service and communication wasn’t great.

Spoke to a man yesterday about the possibility of getting a cat flap installed in a double glass door, when I learned it was £570 i was a bit shocked and said I'd give it thought as it was a bit more than I'd expected, i was very polite and pleasant throughout, yet when I said that he just put the phone down on me without saying "Bye"! I certainly won't be choosing this company after that! How rude.

Initially spoke to Dean and then to Jamie, for an emergency call out to repair broken glass pane from staircase. They had an engineer ready and willing after I initially requested the job for the morning, but then I managed to get hold of the original company who did the job for us initially. I discussed this with Jamie immediately and he kindly cancelled the requested job after I explained the situation. So although I didn’t use Montrose on this occasion, I would use them in future as they were responsive and understanding to my situation.
This is the 3rd time I’ve used Montrose Glass to have a cat flap fitted and every time the service has been superb. I will never go elsewhere. This time, we had a particularly difficult door which was not easy at all given its age and rustiness, and Sam and Clark did a brilliant job of installing it. Thanks for the perseverance! I cant get over how good this company was. We needed a window boarding up and glass replaced. Window was boarded up within a hour of calling. Glass was ordered and came quickly too. Shaun and Billy did an amazing job replacing our window. And sorted some other bits for us too. Friendly, professional, tidy and a good price. Highly recommend.

Got a quote to replace a damaged pain of glass in my patio door. Was given a price for the job after the job was done I was told the pice didn't include vat. But after speaking with customer service this was sorted out. The service fitting the glass was faultless .

Great service fitting my catflap, friendly and professional team were really efficient. Communication was great via email and text as I can’t answer my phone in work time. All worked well. Measuring took 5mins, fitting took 20mins and asked if I wanted to keep the old pane. Great overall experience. Cost £466 and I provided my own catflap but worth it for the level of service received.
I have used Montrose Glass multiple times for different projects. Very friendly staff and easy to book. They have solved the issue on the first visit on a number of occasions, unless they need to order parts. Result is quick turnaround. Happy customer and would recommend.

Dreadful customer service. Thought this was a local company but turned out they are in Essex and subcontract. Replaced a broken glass panel in my elderly father in laws front door but when rubber seal came away I had to push for them to come back out. Wanted photos before agreeing but we aren't close but they insisted, wanting us to ask a neighbour or train my 83 year old parent to use a mobile! Finally came out today but clearly weren't happy to be there. Avoid. If it goes wrong again I'd rather pay someone local to fix it.
Great job and great price. Definitely worth haggling with them to get the best deal. They cost of replacing huge sliding doors was a lot less than I had anticipated and the improvement more than worth the money.
Purchased a cat flap fitting into a double glazed door. The price was approx £70 more than other places I found but the customer service was significantly better than other places I contacted. Funnily enough, I didn’t really understand the specifics of what I needed but had an expert come round and advise. Took about a week to get it all sorted so can’t complain about timings. A slightly higher price was worth it for me knowing the cat flap would be of the quality I wanted.

Would recommend this company if you are in need of a glass door cat flap. The microchip one works really well and stops the neighbourhood cats entering the house. It also looks very smart too very pleased with the new cat flap.

Avoid at all costs!! Overcharging, and poor work. Had a new glass panel fitted with a cat flap in our back door, had to get them back as door wouldn’t shut or lock (they requested video of it) why? I don’t know. Door will not lock again and have had to contact again! Again they want a video?! Door was fine before this company touched it!! Absolutely awful

Taking money out of my bank without authorisation. And a proper rip off to boot.
Only payment option is to give your sensitive details only over the phone, 16 digit long card number expiry and security. No bank transfer, cash, card payments. On top of that invoice wont be given even after paying. If this isn’t red flags then i don’t know what is. Any business that only take your sensitive card details only is best to avoid, no reason for not taking any alternative payment methods. Loads of better around good luck people
Very poor quality of work. The replaced my window hinges and mechanism with the poorest quality compared to the original. They charged a hefty some of £260 for it. The hinges were not fitted correctly causing a draft and constant noise coming from outside. Job needed to be done again only months after. Finally they left without cleanup up the space where they worked and white window pvc with loads of traces black grease.
Sorry for the delay in posting this review. We had a dog door fitted in our glass French doors in July 2023. It has been excellent ever since and the dogs love it too. Really pleased with the quote, the service, the product and the workmanship. We can definitely recommend Montrose Glass professional, on time and courteous. We were also recommended Montrose by a previous customer 👍🏻
A scam outfit, avoid. I rang them for a quote for a cat flap and they organized a survey. At no point did I agree to an order and as you can see their website clearly states they do not charge for a call out. A quote was given but no order was placed. After the callout and confirmed quote I emailed to say I was going with someone else and they have forcefully against my will charged me around £50. At no point was it ever started verbally or in writing there would be a charge for the call out and at no point did I agree to an order. I am now disputing this through my bank. It did not help the customer service agent was incredibly rude and snarky. These guys are a scam outfit, don't make the mistake I did. I am not one for posting reviews but this experience has been unbelievable.

Absolutely ripped off by these guys. They admit the job was not carried out to a good standard, agreed to discount the price for me and then promptly failed to refund agreed amount. And they couldn't even measure the size of the glass properly. Thank goodness we went elsewhere.
Shocking service received, I had windows that needed to be fixed in a property with tenants. Montrose decided to fix some of the issues with the window charging over £350 and than they inform me and the tenant the full windows need to be replaced anyway after work was done. This is shocking service and I was not informed of this and instead could have just directly replaced the windows with new ones rather than wasting £350. I have contacted one of the advisors multiple times over the last few months, he fails to contacted me with any updates and promised they will speak to a supervisor and provide me a solution. I am left with windows that need to be fully replaced and they have taken money from me. I would not trust this company.
They called before the appointment to ask if I was "wasting their time" - using those words. Completely out of the blue, I don't know where that came from because this is the same company that charged me hundreds to board up the windows in the first place. I've never had someone from a company phone me up to insult me before, so that was a first. It turns out that it is Montrose that are the timewasters, not me. Waited three hours for them to show up today - they did not. The quote was going to include a door, and it's only after they didn't show up that they admitted they don't do doors. I can only assume that's why they didn't show.

Called in a panic at about 9pm at night after a break in, and these guys were so great! That had someone round within 90 minutes, and have fully boarded up a whole back door! Super greatful for the speedy response and patience they showed me on the phone! Thanks guys

They are a bad company, I spoke to them today to install glass and gave them my information card, they did not come to fix the window on time so I told them I couldn't wait and called another company and they came quickly, I was surprised they charged £234 and they didn't tell me and when I called them to return the money they told me they wouldn't refund. My thing is that they are very despicable. I will take them to court because they defrauded me
Do not call these people! Had an emergency broken window. Called at 6.30 they said it would cost £235 for temporary fix. I was crying and holding onto a frozen hanging window so had to agree. After checking later, it costs £60 to fully repair with new hinges included. I asked them to be reasonable but they were just rude. You can only con a person once. Your business is doomed.Terrible in this time of deprivation and short strings.
Poor management and communication. Told they would arrive between 9 and 10:30, I am still waiting at 12:45. I have had to call up numerous times to get updates. Would avoid for any future window works.
Booked appointment took card details and quoted price organised date and never turned up. Called the office and they then said could rebook but wanted to charge more money 50% more seems like they never had any intention of coming just wanted to make me wait in for half a day and waste my time! Do not shop with these people. I called them about have 2 pieces of glass replaced in my door + to have it secured with ply wood. I was quoted £328.00 Once someone had some out and carried out the work (plywood only) I paid the amount agreed. The next day someone comes out and takes the measurements for the glass. 2 days later I receive a call explaining to me there is now another quote and this is for the glass only, after already agreeing a price. Essentially I have now been charged £328.00 for someone to come and fix 2 small pieces of plywood to my door. Please save yourself money and time DO NOT use this company.
The most useless of companies I’ve ever interacted with. Let me list my grievances: 1. I begged and asked multiple times for a time slot so I could arrange my diary to accommodate the arrival of the engineer. They said they’d send it, never did so ofcourse the engineer shows up at the worst time. 2. The bloody engineer rocks up to my house with no tools, no identification, nada. Just a hazard vest and some joggers on. Looked ridiculously unprofessional and acted that way too. 3. Engineer examines the broken window, tells me he can fix it he just needs to go back to the van. 10 minutes later the company calls and says the engineer can’t fix it but he will do his best to shut the window so as to prevent further damage. As a result they will be charging me £34 less (from £279). 4. Engineer calls and asks if he can use my parking spot, I say no problem and give him the address to put into google maps to get to the entrance of the building garage. He proceeds to scream on the phone at me saying I should come down and show him how to get there. Mind you I had already told him I was in a meeting and couldn’t talk. He then says he can’t do the job then hangs up. The lack of decorum when dealing with this company was exuberant. Update: Aspect fixed the window on the same day for £80phr. Their engineer showed up with all his equipment, was respectful and got the job done is less than an hour.
I had a smashed window. I called them up and they came they down and boarded up my window on the same day. They also did the fitting of the glass within the time span they told me and they did it quickly would to recommend to anyone.
The member of staff I spoke to over the phone was friendly and professional, however the company proved very unreliable with their appointment times. Cancelled twice, the first time no communication about not being able to attend so I had to chase them. Booked the second for a morning and cancelled with no reason. Can’t say anything about the quality of their work but inability to turn up twice when booked pushed us to go with a competitor.

A small window had to be boarded up . i sort of thought it would be boarded up within the hour but they took 6 hours !!! it cost me over £200 which is very expensive for what they had to do. i am cross that i didnt take more time to find someone locally as i believe that a handyman or an independent glazier would have charged £60 call out fee for doing such an easy job by putting a small piece of filmsy wood over a glass frame
Ridiculously overpriced. Would not use again based on cost - if it was not for insurance paying for the overall works (minus excess) I would not have used Montrose, who are effectively a middle man. Plus though is that they came out when they said they would, which fair play to them some contractors can be a nightmare for this. Personally I'd save your hard earned money and go elsewhere with a direct local firm. Claims on their bio about being 'cost effective' are 🤣.
Disapointed in my experience with these guys, who delayed the window replacement appointment from a Friday to a Monday at the last minute and then didn't show up to the second booking. When I called them to reschedule they said they would call me back, and never did. Used another company in the end who were polite, booked a slot within a couple of days and came and got the job done within an hour.

After returning home late in the day to discover an attempted burglary at our home, Montrose Glass had someone to secure the property within the hour and they did a fantastic job. First thing in the morning we had a sensational glazier to measure for replacements. And all the time we had the support and efficiency of their call centre. They also came in with the best quote. The service and price couldn’t be better.
Brilliant service from these guys, someone smashed our window and we had no idea how long it would take to fix but Dean was able to get the job done in no time at all, really professional and good value, will hopefully not need to use again but if we do, ill be calling them.
Terrible service. Job only half done, when questioned Byron in the office was very rude to me and saying that I had not asked for the part that was missing. Quick to take your money though as you have to give your card details when taking the order. Have now got to find another company to finish off the job

I had called this company and arranged to have my window repaired. They said they would be out the same day so I arranged time out of work. They called that afternoon saying they couldn’t make the scheduled appointment and would be with me between 9-12 the next day. I then got a call from them at around 11:55 that next morning saying they couldn’t get anyone out to me again as promised. Very unprofessional and complete time wasters.
Overcharged for a window boarding job that the engineers messed up by using the wrong methods. Damage done to property AND office staff rude and dishonest when contacted. Brought another company in and they couldn't believe the unprofessionalism of the job done. Avoid at all costs

I arranged for someone from Montrose Glass to come round to fix two windows between noon and 5pm. Nobody came during that time or phoned to give me an update, so just after 5pm I phoned them. The person who answered offered no explanation or apology for the missed time slot, merely telling me that someone would be there "in around 30 minutes". I cancelled.
Absolutely shocking service and totally unprofessional, cancelled coming to fix are window twice leaving us for 2 day with a big hole in our living room window. Had to cancel in the end and get a professional company to do it instead. Stay well clear of this company as they can’t run a bath.
Horrible service. I called in two weeks ago for an emergency repair. They took my credit card details within 5 minutes and offered a call back for the same day. I called them twice within the following three days and they kept promising a call-back. Two weeks down the line I called them to cancel the ‘service’ and to ask them to remove my credit card details from their system. Total shambles.

We called Montrose as we had come home from holiday to find out we’d been burgled ans needed our door to be secured as soon as possible. We called at around 4:30 on a Saturday afternoon, the gentleman on the phone was very friendly and helpful, he explained the whole process and the price. He said that someone would be with us within 2 hours and they were. The board up itself only took about 25 minutes and again the guy was very friendly and helpful. The temporary repair was very neat and effective. We received a quote, as requested, for the permanent repair by the next working day as promised. The only reason that we did not instruct Montrose to complete the tapia is because our insurance company had another firm to be used. I would highly recommend this company.
As the result of criminal damage to the front window of our house in Bristol we were left in a totally insecure situation. Montrose reacted immediately to secure the opening and to instigate an appointment for future replacement. This was carried out in a timely, professional manner and we are very grateful for the quality of their response, both for our home and our peace of mind.
Montrose glass fitted a cat flap for me last week. Their glazer (based in west yorkshire) was great and professional. The cat flap was measured and fitted in just over a week after first call and all seems to be working well. They seemed friendly over the phone.
Really impressed with the professional service. From start-to-finish they made a stressful situation a lot easier. The guy who took my call was really reassuring. I was super impressed how quickly the repairer arrived and how efficiently the job was completed. I would not hesitate to use Montrose Glass again and would highly recommend them.
Nightmare from start to finish. I wanted a cat flap fitted in my glass door, which I thought was an easy job. It was a chaotic mixture of cancellations meaning more days I had to take off work to fit around them, wrong measurements resulting in more delays and having to buy a different cat flap, them calling the wrong customer to say the glass panel had been dropped when it was actually someone else's panel, and even when it was eventually fitted, the door doesn't shut unless you slam it as the glass is too heavy. I informed them of this issue, they said they would get the glazier to come and fix it. I waited 2 days for them to contact me to arrange this and in the end said I would sort it myself. They then offered me £50 back if I removed this review. I removed it, waited over 2 weeks, no £50 arrived. So review is back up. Would not recommend to anyone.
Do not give them you debit card details until you are sure you are going ahead with them. I called them to get a quote for glass replacement. They took my card details and ensure me they will not take out money. Next day, they took the deposit out without asking me if I am happy with quote. More unfortunate is that I had a lot better quote from some where else. I normally write positive reviews to boost trader's morale. I am very sad to post this negative review.
Terrible service! I needed an emergency glazier job carried out on a property that I don’t live in. I waited 3 hours! Job cost £700. I gave my card details as security and full amount was taken off my card without me being told. Wow! I went back and saw the finished job. I could have done this myself! Rubbish left behind and board not secured properly. I did complain and got £50 taken off bill.
Superb service. The guys were out on time and the job was completed within an hour, including a full clean up. Would definitely use again.
This company use local tradesmen throughout the UK, and simply add on their own exorbitant fees for taking a call. Ring in an emergency and their pushy call handler will attempt to discourage you from seeking quotes from elsewhere, claiming others will overcharge and/or leave you in the lurch. Toxic parasites. Ring around instead of using these unpleasant middlemen.
Quoted me one price and charged my credit card far more. Not willing to help. Do not use

Revolting firm of wide-boys. Read the negative reviews, they are accurate and reflect various aspects of my experience. Late, rude, shoddy workmanship and run by obnoxious cretins. AVOID - there are many better providers out there.
Had some slide friction hinges replace on a couple double glazed units. Bit of snagging required a second visit to make all seals ok and able to lock without issue, got both windows fixed.
1 star is generous!! Constant calls to this company, no one calls you back when you have to constantly chase people. Job turned out to be an absolute distaster. Avoid at all costs.
Missed 1st appointment to measure, a week later took measurements, a week later they turned up with the glass cut wrong in both length and width (10cm out). They take money out to pay for a job that isn't done. You have to call them and chase what's happening then promised call back and nobody does. Extremely bad service

After a serious storm which broke our shop front glass door, Montrose were the fastest to arrive and secure the shop. Replacement door took two days and degree of care and attention was remarkable.

Unfortunately cannot comment on the work as I have now waited for 5 hours in total for them to come around to give me a quote for some work. No apologies and no courtesy call to let me know running late. Would not trust they would actually turn up for the job if booked. Poor customer service. :-(.
Great service and very competitively priced. They installed a cat flap in a double glazed window. Workman was polite and friendly. I was kept up to date on the progress of the job throughout.
We had a very good experience initially. They came and repaired our broken window and the mechanism that supported it. Unfortunately the mechanism broke again after a month and after weeks of calling almost everyday we haven't managed to get anyone in to fix it
A really excellent service after a nasty fall through shower glass. Courteous, reassuring, came same day without hesitation ... Cleaned and cleared the shards, got everything safe, fitted and measured all ready for replacement of the pane --- inevitably, we'll get them to do the job now, at a reasonable price - and urge anyone else to do the same. They've done a very good job and successfully managed to get a large sliding door to open after being jammed for many months -and many other contractors viewed it & scratched their heads not knowing what to do- Very helpful staff, onsite and in the office keeping us informed about progress. Originally posted as a 1 star review - but upgrade to a 3 star review as the MD had the decency to call me directly and apologise for the level of service we received and clearly explained the events that led to the problem ....................I've been dealing with them to install a cat flap on double glazing door and it started well - nice customer rep quoted the price and assured that all costs are included in the quote. Then somebody has come to measure the door and said that it should be 3-5 working days before they get back to us with installation dates. This is where it went downhill... Nobody called back so my husbands chased this company for 2 days in a row just to get the answer that their glazier they usually work with cannot fulfil our job and they have to go with another company and it'll cost £100 on top!!! Like this is our fault that they cannot get glazier to do the job! Very disappointing customer service, in this day and age when everybody strive to get customers best possible service, this people just don't care! My advice stay clear of this time wasters, there are plenty more companies in this market that offer much better attitude towards customers!
We have used Montrose Glass on numerous occasions to carry out all aspects of commercial and domestic glazing and we have found them to be highly professional and a very reliable company. They have excellent customer services and are their prices are also very competitive. They are by far the best glazing company around.
Had a broken pane of glass after attempted break in. They were speedy to come and measure up and said they would fit it in 3 days. A week later we had heard nothing. On phoning back they initially said the job had been completed, then said they'd had a kiln problem. They hadn't bothered to let us know. They came a week later (today). I'm extremely disappointed. They have removed a section of wood from our sash window and then stuck it back on with badly applied putty leaving a section missing and wobbly. I can only presume they had to remove the wood because the glass was the wrong size. There is also a gap between the glass and the top of the window frame. They've tried to fill it with lots of badly applied filler but there are still spaces. Unfortunately they took our credit card details at the start and I'm not sure if we can stop payment going through. Now I know why they do this upfront. The only way I can see of fixing this is to have the lower window frame restored at great expense and maybe even a properly fitting pane of glass. I would never recommend this company.
I was very happy with the efficient and friendly service Montrose provided, fixing the tilt and turn aluminium windows at my flat. These had been very difficult to open, in fact in the case of the tilt function, impossible. They both work smoothly now.
Montrose attended an emergency breakage with great speed and professionalism. The staff were friendly and most helpful. We got a follow up call within an hour of the repair to check our satisfaction.
I called Montrose Glass yesterday within an emergency situation on a third floor flat window. I had already been turned down by a number of companies and was pretty anxious by the time I spoke to them. They said yes straight away and got someone there within an hour. This behaviour is indicative of a company that has a strong culture, and a strong sense of customer service. Really appreciated the call and their candour. Based on this, I would be confident in recommending them for the future. Original: It's taken over month to sort out a new fitting for my front door, and it still hasn't been fixed. I call to ask for an update, they say they'll call me back with one and they never do. Incredibly let down and disappointed with this company.
I needed to get some work done for quite a while on my house, but kept putting it off - after a couple of calls to Montrose Glass I felt comfortable discussing it and they made it so easy and simple that I've decided to get it all sorted. Great service and I have already got them quoting my mums house and will have no worries referring them on in the future.
Montrose Glass was my saviour after two companies provided by the insurer let me down badly. I was left with a cracked window for 3 months and when I contacted Montrose Glass they were able to come and assess it the next day and fit it within 7 days! Their service was amazing and I couldn't thank them enough esp. Michael who understood my situation. I couldn't recommend highly enough.
We used Montrose Glass for a construction project in London recently. They were fantastic. Service was great, as was the workmanship. The 2 glaziers are a credit to the company. Also, they turned up and carried out the works during heavy snowfall without complaint. We would definitely recommend them.
Non-standard, large double glazed patio door shattered. I rang late one Friday afternoon and the door was measured up by them early the very next morning (Saturday) and the glass ordered first thing Monday. Fitted 3 days later. Amazingly fast service and first rate customer service throughout. Reacted just how I needed, as the work was done for my vulnerable parent living alone in Southend, on the other side of the country from me. Very understanding company who I would not hesitate to wholeheartedly recommend.

Michael Montrose promised to organise quotes to help with insurance claim but has continually ignored my emails in relation to the matter meaning I've had to foot the full cost of repairs personally. Would not recommend Montrose Glass. Deal direct with your local glazier instead.
I used Montrose to replace a double glazed wooden door glass panel and to fit in a cat flap. The service received from their local contractor was exceptional! The gentleman was very friendly and courteous, I would highly recommend using Montrose Glass for ang glazing work!

Simply terrible. 2 weeks from original phone call to actual replacement. Measurements made for replacement double glazing fitment, engineers arrived 2 days later than first appointment because the unit wasn't ready. Engineers turned up with the wrong size unit...another 3 days of waiting and late for their next appointment. The glass was eventually fitted and I was given a measly 10% off. Pathetic. I missed an important appointment due to their ineptitude and the telephone sales buffoon said it would cost him extra money to send an engineer out on a Saturday. (Doubtful, as they were on another job before hand) Won't recommend, won't ever use again. In fact next time I'll do it myself
rip off!! - £150 for a tiny bit of wood that took minutes to fit done on a week day, wanted £250 on the weekend. Then when I asked them to replace the glass on the front door they said it wasn't possible as the door was a solid unit. I got my screw driver out and after 5 minutes managed to have the back of the fitting off and measured the glass and called a local glazier to fit and measure, cost me £60. £60 for a proper fix versus your glueing a bit of wood of for over double the price. Never again.
The glassier failed to come to measure the glass twice. I had to call each time to then be told he couldn't make it . On the promise of a £20 discount I agreed to wait at home for a third time. The discount never came. I was assured that the new glass would be installed within 7 days of measuring. 14 days later I was chasing them for a date. I you don't want to take lots of time off work and want an efficient service do not go with these people . There are too many other companies doing glass work out there.
I contacted Montrose Glass to replace a broken window pane. The standard of service was excellent. Their glazier arrived promptly at the promised time. The standard of workmanship was excellent and I am very satisfied with the result. I am posting this review as I see that someone else who has the same initial and surname as mine has posted a bad review. I want it to be known that the criticism expressed by that person does not fit with my experience of Montrose which has been 100% excellent.
Brilliant service from this company. Sent a lovely glazier out within about an hour on a Sunday afternoon who did a first class job fixing our broken window for the price agreed in advance. I would not hesitate to use this company again after they resolved a crisis very swiftly and painlessly for us. Highly recommended.
