A1 heating and plumbing performed a number of jobs on my flat recently. Fixing a leak from a bath, replacing some taps and assessing/servicing our air con units. The workers who came to our flat were very professional and work was carried out within the quoted time periods. I was most impressed by the excellent communication that I received from this company when arranging work to be performed over multiple dates. I would recommend them to anyone who is looking for a plumber or air-conditioning engineer in the future
The engineer found the problem very quickly and I was impressed by the way he checked things thoroughly and fixed things. He was very easy to relate to. A good man doing a good job.
A1 in name - A1 in service. We had a leaking stop cock over the weekend. I called first thing Monday morning and we had an engineer arrive by 9am. He replaced the stop cock and checked everything was working well, including cleaning taps to increase water pressure. Great service! Would’ve given 10 stars in possible.

A1 installed our bathroom around 2–3 years ago. To their credit, they returned about 6 months later to redo the bathroom almost entirely after we raised concerns about the initial finish. We appreciated them taking responsibility at the time, which is why we didn’t originally leave a review. However, some issues have persisted. In particular, the freestanding bath has never looked quite right, despite being reassured this was normal. After looking into it further, it appears the bath may have been installed incorrectly. The levelling feet were fully extended (rather than minimised), which left a large gap underneath that has been filled with a thick bead of silicone (around 2cm+). It also appears the bath was fixed in place with a strong construction adhesive rather than being properly seated and sealed with silicone. We also experienced water leaks, and at one point self-levelling compound leaked through into the room below, which we had to clean up ourselves. We’ve also had issues with pipes knocking in the walls since the work was done. This added to our concerns about the overall quality of the installation. There are also other aspects of the finish that don’t look quite right, which further suggests a lack of attention to detail. Based on our experience, I don’t feel it would be fair to others not to share this. A1 may be stronger in other areas (for example boilers), but we didn’t get the impression that bathroom work was their main focus. While some members of the team were clearly skilled and conscientious, others seemed less attentive to detail and finish. Overall, it’s frustrating, particularly given the cost and the fact this is something you have to live with long term. With a bit more care and attention—particularly during the second visit—it could have been a very good result.

Very efficient service, the engineer, Ross communicated very well with me before arrival and even waited a bit longer as I was running a bit behind. Carried out the boiler service and then did some extra sealing works and installed a Carbon Monoxide alarm all whilst on site for a very reasonable extra cost. Friendly, professional & diligent service. Would recommend A1, especially after receiving another very expensive quote.

We’re really pleased that we chose A1 Plumbing to sort out the plumbing issues in our home. First, they replaced a faulty kitchen tap quickly and efficiently. They also serviced our boiler and fixed the timer on our heating system. They had to come back a few times to fully resolve everything, but they were always polite, punctual, and made sure to clean up after themselves each visit. Ross removed and replaced an ancient difficult to reach internal mains stoptap, which someone else declined, but he didn't give up. Comes with 12 months labour warranty as well for peace of mind. 2 days on all good so far. Kyle and Ashley have always been helpful and prompt in replying in past, even when I haven't ended up using them. Highly recommend.

A1 are absolutely brilliant. Helped me very last minute in the cold weather when my heating had broken down. Remembered me straight away from the previous time I have used them which was nice. They sent someone out within 2 hours of my call to triage the issue and then ordered necessary parts quickly and were then able to attend the following day and fix the issue. Their communication at advising on timeframe and cost was super helpful, and the gentleman (Mitchell) that came to fix the heating was very kind and professional. I have no hesitation in recommending them, and special mention to Kyle who was so helpful on the phone! A1 job!
Our experience with A1 was very disappointing. The engineer who inspected our boiler told us that up to three parts needed replacing and provided an extremely expensive quote. When we called the office, the person on the phone was very pushy about buying the parts directly from them, yet refused to give us a clear price breakdown for each part. They also tried pushing us to buy a new boiler stating ours was near the end of its life. This all happened a few days before Christmas so they could tell how desperate we were to fix it. We decided to buy the parts ourselves and asked another engineer to check the boiler. Surprisingly, we were told that none of the parts A1 claimed needed replacing actually required to be changed, the problem was caused by a part the A1 engineer didn't even look at. We would not recommend A1 for boiler repairs, as you may end up paying for unnecessary replacements.
A1 Heating replaced our heating system and boiler in November 25. They worked hard and were a pleasure to have in the house. Seriously they were that good. A1’s workforce were positive, happy and worked hard. A1 is one of the best companies I have had do work in the house and I would definitely ask them to work on any future project that may come our way. A1 went the extra mile to sort out any issues that arose in our older house in a positive can do & will do way. They worked so hard ! They were very impressive. A1 was outstanding and they deserve 10 stars not just 5. This is a bit gushy - but honestly - A1 earned this review ! I hope it puts anyone who may be considering using A1 at ease to know that A1 is indeed top of the class and will do a great job.

They did a full flushing of the house central heating system (11 radiators) which dramatically improved the central heating performance. The boiler had a pre-existing fault making a high pitched noise which reduced after flushing. They produced a comprehensive report following their visit, phoned the boiler maker to check on warrantee, explain the problem and offered options for repair. Totally transparent .professional and helpful. I would definitely use their services again.

Showed up hours late, and then left hazardous waste in the alley outside our house. Despite telling us they’d get someone to sort asap, they did not. We had to say we would report the situation to the council, then someone actually came to take the waste away. They then proceeded to bill us the full amount as though nothing had happened…

I recently had a problem with a dripping tap in my bathroom. I contacted Ashley, sent a photo across, and within the week he and his team had sourced a replacement tap and installed it. The pipework turned out to be in the wall, behind the tiles. From start to finish the engineer kept me informed of the work, what he needed to do and left the area clean and tidy. He also made sure that there was easy access to the pipes in future. I was very impressed with the level of professionalism throughout the process from everyone I had contact with in the company and would highly recommend A1 to anyone.

We had been struggling with water logging in our newly built bathroom shower area. Tried different unclogging liquids but nothing helped. We had a new power shower pump fitted by A1 Heating & Plumbing a few months ago but unfortunately it broke down a short while later. We contacted A1 Heating & Plumbing and they soon fitted a new one which has been working brilliantly. They rang a week or so later to check that the new pump was working well. I was very impressed with their after sale customer service as a lot of companies don’t bother with this.
Ash’s team came out promptly when I reported an issue with the pressure in the boiler. As we needed a new PRV and expansion vessel to be ordered and fitted, Harry made a video showing how to repressurise the boiler. We were given a choice of times for the engineer to fit the parts within the week, and the job was done promptly within the allotted time frame. Will use again for a Hive installation.
I asked A1 Heating & Plumbing to install two new Worcester Bosch Green Star 30 Kw System boilers with associated Worcester Bosch Filters, in a local church hall. I thought that their quote was reasonable and they completed the job as specified on the required days. Having drained the system (20 radiators) they did a chemical flush, refilled & checked that all the radiators were working as to be expected. They were very professional, took care to protect the floor coverings and they left the room clean and tidy. I was well pleased.
The team from booking to servicing were fantastic, Came over with short notice and worked around my timing. They gave me a courtesy call prior to arrival and prompt with sending the report through. Highly recommend these guys.
Back in 2017, Ashley and the team replaced my ageing system boiler, water cylinder, control valves, thermostat, programmable timer with new models. Since then they have been back every year to perform gas safety checks, clear any filters if necessary and ensure that everything in the system is running smoothly. Really loved using A1 heating and plumbing for my issues. My radiator burst a leak and A1 came out within a minutes notice, stopped the leak and isolated the radiator, provided a quote for a new radiator and gave me a date of their earliest availability. They had also noticed that I required a new TRV on my other radiator whilst balancing the system and that was a nice quick easy change, will be painting it soon! The engineer was friendly, factual and abided by the covid-19 regulations. The pricing was very adequate as I looked around and found A1 to be the most reasonable given the timeframe of the leak! Will be using them in case anything else happens!

Tom was efficient and somehow managed to remove our old boiler and install a new one all on his own on what we thought was a two person job - up four flights of stairs. He was a cheerful polite worker helping us between Xmas and New Year when we really needed him. The estimate was £3,000 less than the top quote and £1,000 cheaper than two more. Highly recommended by a friend and we have been thrilled with the service and can do attitude by Ashley and his staff.
