Most reviewers found the BP Pulse chargers they used easy to operate, with clear instructions in the app and on the station, and one liked that the chosen pump lights up. One reviewer had no trouble connecting and charging, and another called the charge fast. [...] Several reviewers could not get a charge at all. One reported an app that would not recognise three separate chargers and no staff help, another said a connector was not working, and another said the app failed to register a credit card on an older iPhone. Chargers giving less power than advertised were flagged in one case, and one reviewer described repeated problems with the app, the card being suspended and a charge start and stop that left them out of pocket. One said a £60 deposit was far more than their charge could cost, and another said the cost per kWh was high compared with other networks. Multiple reviewers said the site no longer had working chargers or was closed.
It was really straightforward and easy to use. Very user-friendly and clear instructions in the app and the charging station. Loved the little touch that the chosen pump lights up. In some charging stations from other companies it's actually difficult to guess which one corresponds to the ones on the app.
Charging is fine. What is consistently not fine is the app and the card. Several times now the subscription fee has failed to be taken, causing the card to be suspended. The card is then not properly reactivated once payment has been made. The app itself is not working correctly. Search for a charging station while I'm standing right next to one is not idea;. Once identified it will not ever connect first time.
Twice I have been to this station twice there were problems first time the both pumps were not in use I had hospital appt attended that and on way back two no vans were there putting a new screen. I waited and they helped me charge. Very helpful men. Yesterday followed the instructions would not charge said unavailable another customer came to charge their van and was successful on the other pump. It turned out that he confirmed to say it had naan out of order for at least 3 days. He finished charging and connected my car which was successful. I am a female, 71 years old with limited mobility I cannot stand for long even with crutches. I am quite able to deal with computerised equipment. My stress levels were high after all this fuss and frustration which I can do without as I have a heart condition. This being my first electric car and wasn’t told that because I have a pacemaker I should not sit in the car during charging.
Absolutely wild that it takes a £60 deposit when I can only put 17kwh of energy in my 24kwh battery. Not really possible for me to spend more than £11. I understand the concept that other customers exist, but no other chargers charge as much, so this was a definitely a choice on your part, of which I am critical. Edit: responding to your message Drivel. There are frequently issues with either or the chargers or the return payments. If the charger starts and stops three times before operating smoothly, that's me out of pocket £180 for up to six days. I can't afford that nonsense, so I'll just avoid your charging points.
BP have left this location and a new business is moving in no charging on site
No longer exists. Not on BP Pulse app but still on Google Maps and ZapMap. Office is clearly disused. I checked with Costa staff and there are no chargers in the vicinity.

The first time I tried to connect it failed. Your app didn't allow me to register my credit card on my iPhone 12 mini, it's only working now on a new iPhone 16.

No public charging
BP Pulse EV Charger, Louth The BP Pulse EV charger in Louth is a user-friendly charging point that's easy to navigate. The charging process was straightforward, and I had no issues with the equipment. It's a convenient location with good accessibility. Unfortunately, the cost per kWh is on the higher side compared to other charging networks. While the charging experience itself was positive, the overall value for money could be improved.
This is the second time we have visited this site to charge our car. The first time we were having problems with the App and someone came out to assist and couldn’t have been more helpful. Re-visited today and tried 3 separate chargers. Couldn’t get any of them recognised by the App and wasn’t able to get any charge. Plenty of people inside, but other than collecting their lunch from Deliveroo, no one came to offer any help. After 20 minutes we gave up and drove off to try another charger. We weren’t the only drivers to give up and go elsewhere.
You have to press the buzzer to get in. Some of the 150kwh chargers do not provide the full power consistency
Weirdly not the best of chargers seeing as its their own office! Great that there are plenty of chargers but the 175kw charger only gave out 55kw. Could say it was cold but that's just an excuse really.
My son popped here to charge his rented electric car ( from CMK company). Great location, opposite a Costa for heaven's t. BP Pulse car park...press the button at the barrier and tell them you are here to charge up...voila, open sesame. Fast charge means less than 30 mins until I could get a Costa coffee (tummy warming)...yum and doing our bit to fight Global warming re electric car.
