I had an excellent experience with Barry. He was super responsive to my initial inquiry and visited the property just a couple of days later. He connected an EcoFlow Stream X battery/micro solar system and a Shelly Pro 3EM smart monitor into my consumer unit. I found Power On with my web browser and their informative web site indicated an experienced electrical installation contractor ...and curer of electrical faults which was what I needed this time. My house has suddenly been plunged into darnkess by a total power failure! Barry of Power On attended promptly and immediately found the reason for the power loss. The matter was complicated by the failure being to the power input feed/connectors into my smart meter and distribution board that had to be put right by an engineer from the regional electricity network provider SSEN. Barry knew who to contact there and how to get an urgent engineer call-out from them and a mere 90 mins later the SSEN guy duly turned up with replacement parts at no cost to me. So thanks to Barry's/ Power On's knowledge and expertise within two hours of his prompt arrival everything was repaired and in rejuvenated and safe working order. It could have taken considerably longer to sort out. I may have had to stay in a hotel overnight, I might have lost in excess of £250 worth of chilled and frozen food etc. and I would then have had to go through the inconvenience and rigmarole of an insurance claim for refunds for all that. All in all what I expected to be a lengthy and expensive process was all put right in two hours and the Power On attendance and action charge was most reasonable, all the more so as considerable likely additional costs and inconvenience were avoided. So my experience of Power On leads me to recommend them highly - Knowledgeable and experienced, friendly, efficient, informative and good value in my case.

Over the Christmas/New Year period my electricity was cutting out at the mains and I was unable to identify the problem or faulty circuit from the junction box even after trawling the net for advice. We were in need of an emergency electrician. This local firm, whom I have not used before, responded immediately to my phone call and after some discussion requested photos of the junction box which I sent. I got an immediate response and a clear explanation of the probable cause and the initial steps I could take myself to confirm this which they suggested would save the time and cost of a call out though this was still offered. In effect this was free upfront advice. Without asking, I was given their (in my view reasonable) hourly rates and call out fee if these were incurred. After a couple of further calls and checks the fault was found and electricity restored. This was a responsive, effective and reassuring service for a domestic emergency at this time of year.

Our bathroom light deteriorated at the wiring connector to where the tubr bulb clips in. The whole thing needed replacing. Also, our extractor fan hasn't been working for some time. Barry contacted us very quickly, and after a little communication, predicted it to take no more than 2 hours. He came around, to have a look, on time, and was able to complete the job within 1 hour. Was very professional, and polite, and we were very happy with the whole service.
